不得不提餐湯和麵包!我幾喜歡這個南瓜湯,但我更喜歡她的麵包和黑松露牛油!味道好香濃!

We couldn't believe that's the kind of service one could receive given the price they charged. To start with, no one bothered to ask what we'd like to drink after 45 mins since our arrival, roof was dripping and my jeans were all wet, had to beg to change table, rude and arrogant waiters, wrong orders, we missed 2 desserts and needed to ask twice and was told to wait since they were coming as if we were rationed, they charged more for our bottle, they couldn't even split the bills right. We ended up doing our own maths. When we left I was being polite to say thank you to the waiter but he just said bye. We were so upset and wrote reviews on their Facebook but the only action they could take was to delete our comments. This is absolutely not the place to be even the food was ok. Hope their management can take this as a constructive comment and improve their service coz I wouldn't have taken my time to write about our bad experience when I could spend my time enjoying my cny holidays.

Group of 9 adults and 1 kid. Saturday brunch. Restaurant was empty, yet food served was cold. Waited for 45 mins. Flies over salad bar buffet. Shrimp not fresh. Eggs Benedict half frozen. Pizza and fish fingers were frozen food quality at best. Ice coffee was excessively sweet. Way overcharge. $350 per head. Wtf. Disappointed. Never going back again!!!

We came during restaurant week which we had to pay $389 per person. However we arrived to find out that there is also a Groupon promotion going on for $298 per person. This is okay if you decide to do 2 promotions together, but can you at least differentiate the menus a bit? The Groupon promotion has the same dishes as the Restaurant week menu PLUS more items. We feel completely ripped off not to mention the food is disappointing, especially for the price we paid.

呢一刻終於明白點解團購做咁耐了,只係得唔洗煮嘅野好食...無理由間餐廳無試過菜,位置遠唔就腳唔係客少嘅主因囉!起碼甜品可以取消酒精,雖然gimmic無左,但正常嘅味道一定緊要過gimmic啦?!

It will be a small Tartare to start with.
Easy to make, easy to miss! This one was nicely chopped and beautifully seasoned. What more to you want from a Tartare?
I hear they sell a lot of meat. No wonder! I will, for sure, come back for this!
My wife went for the mussels "marinières" a la crème! Very fresh, well-seasoned. Unlike some places, they are not shy on white wine and it shows. She even said it is one of the best mussels "marinières" she had in Hong Kong. Coming from her....this is quite something!
She followed with the US beef filet mignon, just grilled, without sauce. Very tender, juicy, cooked to perfection. She asked for "rare" and she got it "rare". Well done! (If I may say so).
I moved to fish. The Barramundi filet was much tastier than I anticipated since I am no great fan of barramundi. The accompanying risotto was unctuous and well balanced and I would not have minded if the scallops had come in larger numbers.
Saying this, we were full enough to skip dessert.
We will be back for sure. The terrace is terrific, the food and service well in line and the bill is gentle! Life is good!
 
題外話/補充資料: Are you hunting for the same in food? Value for money, fresh ingredients prepared with love and skill, served by nice people? Basic isn't it? Basic but harder to find than cheap or not so cheap crap, or pretentious menu with exorbitant prices.

As for main, I got the Chargrilled Halibut with Roasted corn and black bean salad. The filet was thick-cut and preserved its juiciness, full of flavor. Skin was grilled spicy, and meat was tender. There were no sauce or anything, a very simple olive oil and sea salt grill, simple yet perfect. The colorful combination of corn, red pepper, and black bean not only complemented the dish well in terms of presentation, but also making the overall dish felt light and mediterreanish.

One small tickoff in the overall meal was that my party had to wait for more than half an hour to get our main served. Perhaps I came with a big party today, but since it was just set lunch, I think the Quayside could work on that a little.

Nevertheless, I'd love to come back to check out their dinner and brunch. Afterall it's a nice chillout place !

Once you get there, you will be rewarded with 7,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor dining space along with a view of the harbor and neighboring cityscape! Too bad I visited at night so I couldn't see the view clearly but nonetheless most people seemed to prefer to sit outside even at night.

Le Tartare ($188) - hand chopped beef tenderloin seasoned with pickled capers, gherkins, shallots, parsley and "Quayside" special sauce. I love beef tartare and while the beef could be chunkier, I love the special sauce which made the beef quite spicy!

Grilled "Piri Piri" French Chicken ($238) - whole french yellow chicken served with king oyster mushrooms, roasted eggplants, coriander, green apples and homemade chili paste. Piri Piri is a chili pepper from Africa which lent a spicy kick in flavors to the chicken which was moist and soft.

"Ten Spiced" Rubbed NZ Lamb Chops ($268) - rubbed with "ten spices" mixture served with crispy coconut rice cake, pickled shallots, saffron pickled cauliflowers and lime yogurt. My favorite dish of the night! This was another spicy dish that was impressive in its creativeness while trying to incorporate Asian flavors into the dish and successfully making the flavors work together.

Pan Seared French Duck Leg Confit ($248) - a revisited version of the classic French Cassoulet served with pancetta, white bean ragout and persillade. While I applaud the attempt at revamping this classic dish with a ragout, I'm not sure they entirely went together that well plus the duck confit was a tad dry as well.

The Baked Alaska I've had in the past usually has a layer of firm and crunchy meringue on the outside but the one here was actually quite soft and chewy so it tasted more like a marshmallow which was intriguing in its own way.

Verdict - overall, the food was pretty good in terms of its quality and creativity while the prices are fair - it's not cheap but it's not going to break the bank either. Its Sunday "Al fresco" brunch, on the other hand, seems like a great deal starting from $288 including buffet, 1 main, dessert and coffee while you have to option to add free flow beer and prosecco for $138 or red, white and rose wine for $158 - available from 11am-4pm on Sundays!

QUAYSIDE是一間法國餐廳,這一點在主菜中最能體現。GRILLED "PIRI PIRI" FRENCH CHICKEN這道法式燒春雞,燒得既香也嫩,大廚加點創意,在燒雞上灑上自家製的辣醬,像咖哩的一閃即逝,是讓人愈吃愈開胃的主菜。

第二道主菜"TEN SPICED" RUBBED N.Z. LAMB CHOPS同樣都是辣的,以十種香料調配出的辣汁,沒有搶去羊的羶香,旁邊的炸椰子糕則可減輕一下辣感,兩道帶辣的主菜都各有特色,就視乎你喜歡羊還是雞了。

法國菜中,相信沒人會不知道經典的油封鴨腿吧。QUAYSIDE的PAN SEARED "FRENCH" DUCK LEG CONFIT,鴨皮做得很脆,鴨肉沒有多餘的油份,肉質嫩滑。不過和很多店子一樣,鴨肉味未夠濃縮,對比起來,我覺得前兩道主菜更值一試。

PAN SEARED RED SNAPPER紅鯛魚肉質粉嫩,魚皮既香且脆,旁邊伴有意粉粒和粟米粒,看似平凡但其實味道是不錯的,尤其對喜歡吃魚的朋友來說,相信不會令你失望。

It is not easy to find such a spacious and outdoor place inside the downtown circle of Hong Kong city nowadays. It is a typical harbour-side designed restaurant, a casual bar; romantic dining tables lighted by candles; a classically chic showcase space for wine collection and cigars; and a rectangular outdoor terrace with a thin boulevard aside the harbour. The servings are French causal, also due to the coming warm season, Chef. Andrew, specially designs the appetite-stimulated spring menu with the combination of spices, herbs and sour & sweet dressing.

Salad is featured by its fresh ingredients, especially the fresh fig giving the nature sweetness and freshness to the whole dish, also conversely matched to the savory and rich taste of Parma Ham's fatness. Cheese is just awesome! I was a little worried once seeing the transparent green olive oil in the plate, but the al-dente cook on the crispy pastry, the grilled pepper and onion, and baked goat cheese, were amazingly cheesy and milky, leaving a rich lasting taste in mouth, but still keeping the taste balance with the vinegar and vegetable's juicy input.

Spring menu's main course covers chicken, lamp, seafood (sea baisse) and Duck (leg), which have a comment point, Asian twist! The special spices, sauce and dressing used for the main course, make it fresh and tasty in a sour & sweet way (sometimes, even spicy and very flavorsome) instead of making them taste-light. The concept is quite similar to the dishes in Southeast Asia where people take more spices dishes in the purpose of stimulating the appetite under humid and hot weather.

Besides the perfect cooked fish and meat, I love the idea of grains as side-dish. Lamp Chops are served with coconut rice cake. It is slightly fried to be crispy outside, while still sticky and slightly sweet under the crispy layer.

Flame Baked Alaska $88

Baked Alaska is a big surprise to me. I was not a fan of this kind of flaming effect dessert for the reason of uncovered burned alcohol scent; while this one is the ONLY one without the burned alcohol I have never discovered in Hong Kong. The egg white is very soft, light and mild like foam cream which doesn't taste artificially sweet and creamy.

小妹一向對火焰雪山興趣不大,所以這次也只是淺嚐而已,卻發現焗蛋白軟熟得似綿花糖的質感,酒香也不過火,還不錯啊。

縱使小妹依然鍾情傳統法菜,卻不得不承認Quayside 加入清新元素的變奏法菜創意可嘉,吃起來膩漏感也較低,的確很有水準,看來我是時候檢討先入為主的性格了。

French Onion Soup,賣相幾靚丫,不過睇色水我覺得似牛腩煲多過洋蔥湯,哈...我只試放在面頭那片烘芝士,鹹香非常,蠻不錯,朋友話湯亦都幾好飲。

因為我的英文好差,所以是旦要Clams In Kronenbourg 1664,啊,實物來到先知道原來是煮蜆,份量的確有超多!!湯汁用了辣椒,大蒜,醋去煮,味道非常特別,酸酸辣辣,充滿泰式風味,每粒蜆都有蜆肉,不會只是得個殼,蜆肉十分鮮味,而且又無沙,整體高準很高,值得推介的主菜。

相比之下,Penne Alla chicken Marsala就很普通了,原來是用雜菌雞肉長通粉,通粉很有彈性,雜菌夠香,不過雞肉好鞋,主要的汁醬味道怪怪,有陣苦味,而且都幾鹹。可能這是特式之處只怪自己不識食。

是日甜品檸檬撻配菠蘿雪糕,我們食緊第二個主菜的同時便送上的甜品了,看到嗎﹖雪糕已經溶解中,眼見他們服務隔離幾枱都是待食客吃完後才上甜品,反觀我這枱就不是了。

檸檬撻的檸檬酸度很足夠,但質感好散﹑好淋,入口即時化開,明顯是雪得不夠凍﹗

餐飲就只有簡單的檸檬茶/水或咖啡,凍檸檬茶好飲,茶底清香,不會苦澀。

期間店員們都不會主動斟水﹑收餐碟,明知餐廳周會吸引不少街外客/非熟客來試菜,除了食物要吸引,人手方面都應該加強去吧,好明顯三位店員不能處理一時之間這麼多客人的需求,現在變相苦了食客,唉,又一個沒有配套下但要勉強參加餐廳周的餐廳﹗
