Being the star of the menu, the wagyu slices were tender with crispy skin. However, given the price, I have expected the wagyu to be more melting and possess a more intense beefy flavour. I just thought there was a little bit too much sauce (probably mayo) and the dish was slightly too heavy as a main course for one person.

The fish was up to standard but not impressive. Personally the seasoning was on the light side, especially when it was mirin-boshi. Contrasting with the wagyu sando, the portion of this dish was a bit too small.

For starter, we really liked the baby corn with the black kewpie 😍the kewpie sauce is so finger licking good 🍟the dried blowfish is also brushed with the yuzu syrup 😚the sashimi is fresh. Although the oyster is not too fatty, it is sweet and mix well with the minced spicy onion. The spinach gomae and chicken meatball are also tasty 😋😋

For the mains, we are really fascinated by the short ribs 😍🤯it was so good‼️never had such a tender beef in my life. The buttery fat gives such a rich taste 🤤 for the Saba fish, it is fair.

週末約咗三個知已一齊去文華食brunch. Aubrey 之前只去過happy hour, 今次可以試吓d食物。呢度只有set brunch,你只需要揀main course。餐單主打日式西餐,所以頭盤已經有sashimi 同蠔,quality中規中矩,仲有枝豆同雞泡魚乾,下酒菜一流(我地開左隻香檳)。其實食前菜都已經好飽,因為真係好多款。到main course時,其實我哋已經有7成飽。之前落order,怕唔夠飽,仲叫咗個飯,失策。main course 當然要推薦beef sando~好好味!即使要加錢都值得試~牛肉十分嫩,入口即融,同脆香的麵包十分搭配!

個人認為食物質素都中上偏高 但若配上這個價格 的確可以更好🤣
和牛厚切質感軟熟👍麵包也鬆軟 近和牛一面也煎得脆香🤤
但可以進步的是略厭和牛可更有牛味🫢

之後嘅竹炭炸雞塊就相對失色🫣 竹炭顏色嘅脆皮只係gimmick,上檯個時都夠熱夠脆,不過食落同一般炸雞無咩分別🤣 另外仲叫左個chef‘s selection 12貫壽司🍣 總共有6款魚料🐟 魚料新鮮,有鮮味,舍利微酸,味道不錯但當然比唔上高級omakase嘅水準😗


因為之前已經飲左cocktail嘅關係,我地就諗住試吓佢d wine🍷 見The Aubrey有提供日本嘅wine,平時又無咩機會飲,就點黎試下😆 佢地嘅日本wine無論紅白都偏light/ medium body,飲落都smooth嘅但味道比較單薄,欠缺層次感~下次都係試佢d cocktail會好d🫣

同上一篇一樣,中環五星級酒店裡面嘅餐廳價錢一定貴🤣 不過佢嘅環境真係好好,非常適合朋友聚會/ 拍拖👫 食物性價比較低,除左和牛三文治其他兩樣都無特別驚艷嘅感覺,所以都難怪網上評價褒貶不一😶 但為左和牛三文治,我會再返黎的🥹

Visited The Aubrey, the Japanese Izakaya inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel on a Friday night. 😚 You can immediately feel the fusion of English and Japanese cultures when you walk pass the entrance corridor. Food are average in general though I really love the classy vibe and ambience of the restaurant. 💕 M4 Waygu Sando is the MVP of the night!! 🤩 The waygu is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside 🤤 Will definitely come back for this dish!!! 🥹❤️

第一次試,去到先發現DJ播歌,音響係好嘅setting, 但因為個人耳仔不太好、不能在音樂背景太大聲環境,同captain 反映後,安排在細聲d嘅座位,很多謝這份特別安排。食物質素高,魚生好新鮮味甜,前菜黑色炸西蘭花賣相有d古怪。生蠔鮮甜十足,法國Fin de Clare 跟個汁可以帶出更多層次味道,主菜short rib牛超美味,另加$300 要咗A4 tenderloin 700幾食brunch ,好值。文華無得輸。

Celebrated best friend’s birthday there over the weekend. Cocktails I have to mention first…it was superb and the beverage manager is very friendly and inviting. You can go round after round with their cocktails. Food was above average. Was disappointed with their curry udon. Too thick and sticky and we ate less than half. Another thing, I have to praise here is their music. Very good sound system and music selection hence, great vibes for gathering or simply a relaxing afternoon.

The food quality overall was bad, we ordered a curry wagyu beef undo for main dish. Omg, the first big no is the undo was very soggy and secondly the beef came minced and covered with mash potato. Love the ambience this restaurant emits, very izakaya-like with the high bar tables.


I asked the bartender to surprise my with my welcome drink and she made me a delicious yuzu and mock gin drink sans soda!! Her name is Stephanie and she made my experience there ten times better with her perky attitude so kudos to her😁


Unfortunately I had to wait a long time at the bar for a table (at least 30 minutes) due to the limited seating areas. I ordered the lunch bento box set and the chawanmushi and miso soup came first for me at the bar because the staff knew I would be waiting for a long time. Chawanmushi was definitely made with high quality dashi as I could taste the depth of it and thoroughly enjoyed the smooth egg, they also had a ginkgo nut found in traditional chawanmushi so I appreciated that touch. The miso soup too, was immensely flavorful and I was disappointed in the small cup 🥹


I got the three layer bento box for $428 and chose salmon yuanyaki. The salmon was very fatty with a rich soy flavor but the edges were a bit tough and skin not as crispy as expected. The portion was also quite small but there were enough accompaniments so I left satisfied.


There was 4 mini futomaki rolls with crunchy burdock, takuan and cucumber and 3 mini nigiris; all on seasoned rice. Absolutely delicious. There is also this spongy cake-like fish cake that I enjoyed. Moreover, there is a large lotus tempura that is sadly not crisp but also not oily so it was decent. I did however enjoy the selection of pickled vegetables and mizuna salad. But what stood out to me the most was the wasabi. It was definitely not colored horseradish because it was not very numbing and had sweet undertones. The wasabi paired beautifully with the fatty salmon, I even asked for more wasabi 😆


For dessert, I chose the matcha donuts with yuzu curd and it was absolutely divine. The donut bites were warm and coated with sugar, it was fluffy and crisp at the same time. After eating it raw, pairing with the yuzu curd is a whole other flavor. Tart and zesty with pure sweetness. Highly recommend.


Overall, service was good but could be better and food truly had a strong Japanese touch to it. But be sure to call ahead for reservations as seatings are scarce.
