這個星期六要返工,所以把原有的節目都推掉。到了四時多放工,臨時約個朋友仔,想不到有什麼可做,於是特別選個"吊腳"的地方吃晚餐,於是選了赤柱。進來時因為坐了 " crazy mini-bus",因此要先逛一會才開餐。這兒的環境還是很不錯的。走了好一會兒,我們最終還是覺得在赤柱大街吃會比在美利樓好 feel 一點,於是隨便選了一間,就進來了 Boathouse。Waiter 帶我們到一樓,本要求坐露台位置,但都給訂了位。我們點了個 seafood bucket,可選 prawns / clams / black mussels / mix,我們點了 mix,配 white wine garlic sauce ($145 / sm)。朋友點了個 clam chowder ($65),主菜來個 surf & turf ($330) 吧。 Seafood Bucket: small size 的 bucket 大概有三隻蝦、四隻 clams、8-10隻 mussels,以價錢而言算唔孤寒了,兩個人食岩岩好。而每款的size都幾肥美,雖然從澳洲回來的朋友說不夠鮮甜,但以香港水準而言算是不錯了。sa

走了好一會兒,我們最終還是覺得在赤柱大街吃會比在美利樓好 feel 一點,於是隨便選了一間,就進來了 Boathouse。Waiter 帶我們到一樓,本要求坐露台位置,但都給訂了位。

我們點了個 seafood bucket,可選 prawns / clams / black mussels / mix,我們點了 mix,配 white wine garlic sauce ($145 / sm)。朋友點了個 clam chowder ($65),主菜來個 surf & turf ($330) 吧。

Seafood Bucket: small size 的 bucket 大概有三隻蝦、四隻 clams、8-10隻 mussels,以價錢而言算唔孤寒了,兩個人食岩岩好。而每款的size都幾肥美,雖然從澳洲回來的朋友說不夠鮮甜,但以香港水準而言算是不錯了。sauce 很 creamy,但酒味不夠,我喜歡酒味重一點的。

Clam Chowder: 偷喝了朋友的湯一口。我覺得很好,因為又是很 creamy 的,正是我杯 "湯",但朋友說 chowder 不應如此 creamy,這樣會比較像忌廉湯。

Surf & Turf: 這就是 lobster + rib eye,但完全是令人失望之作。龍蝦普通吧,而 rib eye 我們要了 medium rare,但上檯的近乎是 well done,又鞋又硬,以這個價錢實在不應是這種質素啊。

整體評分被 main course 拉低,下次來還是試試別的餐廳好了。

同老公老遠來到赤柱, 原本想到的地方已經關了, 便來到有戲份的 Boathouse,環境休閒又浪漫, 最重要的是我們在無訂枱的情況下好似包咗場咁, 哈.. 幾好呀, 可能太晚了吧原本我們點了二人頭盤, 燉牛肋骨配鵝肝, 心太軟,但侍應勁推介個海鮮桶, 所以最後都加咗個細的先來個海鮮桶同餐前包, 海鮮桶內的蝦好似好好味, 於是我第一口便嘗了點了白汁的佢,真係無令我失望, 又新鮮又好味, 餐前包暖暖地, 外脆內軟, 海鮮桶配的蒜蓉包係我吃過最好的, 除了脆軟適中外, 仲有好香的炭燒印, 好似牛扒咁,海鮮桶仲有蛤和黑貝, 都唔錯, 果然係必試菜二人頭盤有五款頭盤 - 煙三文魚龍蝦卷, 幾好, 但無乜龍蝦味- 炸蝦,用上米粉來炸, 有特色又唔油膩- 雞肉串, 無特別, 但好味- 蟹餅, 雖然唔油, 但太多芝麻同蟹味太濃- 凍腿蕃茄芝士多士, 老公的頭盤首選, 清新鮮味燉牛肋骨配鵝肝 - 牛肋骨太鹹, 鵝肝本人唔太喜愛, 都係好似正常味咁啦, 但薯蓉好特別, 有檸檬草同薑味心太軟(Death by Chocolate), 期待已久, 可能係名字的關係吧, 賣相跟味道都好, 黑朱古力配雪糕, 冷暖

- 凍腿蕃茄芝士多士, 老公的頭盤首選, 清新鮮味
燉牛肋骨配鵝肝 - 牛肋骨太鹹, 鵝肝本人唔太喜愛, 都係好似正常味咁啦, 但薯蓉好特別, 有檸檬草同薑味
心太軟(Death by Chocolate), 期待已久, 可能係名字的關係吧, 賣相跟味道都好, 黑朱古力配雪糕, 冷暖交溶, 但如果個蛋糕可以滑些就好啦
總括而言, 這裡係來到赤柱的好選擇

last nite was to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, so I've tried this one out, since it got some quite good recommendation in open rice.seat:2nd floor inside, next to the windows.there wasn't many ppl in the res last nite, so it's pretty quiet. well apart from the music they played, of which are some of the 90' english songs that some of my favorite.I know the views are good when look out of the windows if there are enough sun light, unfortunately, by the time when we arrived, it was already dark w

seat:

there wasn't many ppl in the res last nite, so it's pretty quiet. well apart from the music they played, of which are some of the 90' english songs that some of my favorite.
I know the views are good when look out of the windows if there are enough sun light, unfortunately, by the time when we arrived, it was already dark when look at the sea.
here's what I've order for 2 people & I must say, these filled 2 of us up very full & very delighted when we left.

food:
bread (res provide starter)
cold seafood platter
ceasar salad
surt & turf (beef fillet & 1/2 side lobster)
extra 1/2 potion of lobster
death by chocolate
bread:
bread are pretty standard stuff for dinner of this kinda, but they have some flat crispy bread-stick like, which are really tasty.
cold seafood platter:
- good overall seafood, apart from slightly mark down on the scallop
- good tomato sauce
this one is pretty good, the prawn are sweet enough, yet still got a mild taste of sea water, which just the way I like it. the mussel & the clam are taste good as well. oh.. the tomato sauce is a very yummy sause. The only thing that I think got some mark down are the scallop, a slightly plain in flavor that it just does have what a scallop should have.
ceasar salad:
- definitely enough for 2~4 ppl.
- the salad sauce is just about the rite.
even though they dont have cheese power, but shredded chowder cheese instead, good flavor & bite size for the salad.
surf & turf (beef fillet + 1/2 side lobster):
- enough portion of a male, a slightly bit much for a lady.
- beef fillet is good, but gravy makes it better.
- the lobster grilled it really well and tasty
the 1/2 lobster is my wife's favorite. they grill it & it just very tasty. it taste so good that we just have to order an extra 1/2 side of lobster (if you can still have extra full lobster by now, I would recommend a full one, ços it's just more money worth ~XD).
death by chocolate:
- used bitter chocolate sauce
- melty cake
- tasty vanilla ice cream
I've tried quite a few version of this dessert & I must say, they have make the best version by far compare to what I've previously tasted, especially the cake would just melt when u put in your mouth
Service:
the service pretty good.
- very helpful when I would like to order an extra 1/2 side lobster, of which it wasn't on the menu.
- no need to wait for long time in between dishes
- very polite & friendly

題目與食評無關,純粹是我對這間餐廳的一點回憶。由最初的法國餐廳,到鬼屋,再轉營至現在的西餐廳,轉眼又廿年有多。自從小狗走了,很久也沒有日間來赤柱了。是日心情不佳,想往外走走,來了這裡吃個午飯。走在赤柱大街,不其然的又來了這裡。上了二樓,找了角落的位置坐下,廿年前我第一次來吃,也是坐這個位置。空調開放,偌大的玻璃窗透進陽光,二樓也只得一檯客人,寧靜又舒適。先來兩杯生啤才說,Tetley's麥味重,喝起來帶點甜味的,而Kilkenny則口感清爽,也合心水。餐牌是最典型的鬼佬食物選擇,選了個沙律,再來個海鮮桶,加一客漢堡包,簡簡單單的一餐,也差不多了。海鮮桶是將蝦、青口及蜆用白酒及忌廉汁煮過後,裝在一個鐵桶中上檯的,賣相很好。海鮮普遍新鮮味美,蝦是開邊的,清理得乾淨,醮上濃濃的白酒芝士汁,越吃越想吃;蜆大隻,肉肥厚,亦鮮甜,略嫌有一點點的沙;青口肉則不多,但也很新鮮,份量最多,吃來吃去也有的。面頭舖了兩片烤蒜蓉包,很香口,加上海鮮的甜白汁,人間美味;沙律是「The Ultinmate Salad」,材料很多,計有黑欖、紅蘿蔔絲、沙律菜、鷹咀豆、青蘋果、露筍、青瓜、士多啤梨等等等等,用上最簡單

雖然已很飽,但也來一客甜品吧,就要了tiramisu。賣相很精緻,marscaphone cheese打得夠滑,配合在中間的酒漬車厘子,很香甜,但吃起來咖啡酒味道不夠,要靠在碟底的baileys才會夠味一點。

侍應服務有點散漫,叫兩次才應一次,應兩次才拿到我想要的東西。可能我英文說得不好,不太能令其明白吧!

埋單六百多,環境好,食物不錯,在赤柱開飯,這裡絕對是選擇之一。

同大少來,朋友住附近,打完招呼,就來尋吃的第一時間來杯啤酒,涼透心的,什麼牌子都好,beer的確令人有哂energy點了青口,sauce的味道唔特出,而且garlic bread亦未達水準,我覺得可以crispy一點,但garlic的味道好重,not my flavor,我是不吃garlic的death by chocolate,其實是心太軟,名字相當不錯,有心思呢!當然,味道相當重要,今次的朱古力是流心的,見其他人的食評批評出品不夠好,但今次的確有水準呢!環境望海,一流,但假日好多好多人,沒有那份一直好期待的寧靜

連日大雨,趁有藍天白雲去赤柱走一趙,最終是為了要食Boathouse。原安排坐室內,難得好日子,當然要坐室外感受一下赤柱大街的熱鬧氣氛,因為有海風吹來也不覺悶熱。老公後前要了兩杯冰凍啤酒來解解渴。之後再個熱烘烘的豬仔包。海鮮桶有黑青口、蜆及蝦配以蒜蓉白酒忌廉汁,我對於海鮮只是一般,最不放過是附了一細桶的忌廉汁,有蒜蓉的野味、白酒的清香及忌廉的美味,用來點鮮味的海鮮及不凡的麵包同樣滋味。另外再附上一片蒜蓉包,完全唔脆口,而且亦缺乏蒜蓉香。Baby ribs配炸薯角,六大條的豬仔骨,每條也沾醬了濃稠的燒醬汁,帶點微辣美味非常,骨肉鬆化不乾;那一大埋脆薯角灑上鹹,不油不膩,十分香脆可口。飽餐後,甜品當然不可缺的一環,餐牌上的5、6款甜品,每款也想試,最後還是要朱古力的,兩個賣相也很精緻。Chocolate pecan pie-批的質地好實,不夠鬆化,又沒有牛油香。Death by chocolate是心太軟,焗得過火沒有流心之餘,還有陣陣燶味,基本上是食唔到朱古力味。環境當然是一流,食物都有水準,HSBC亦有折扣優惠,只差在服務態度麻麻。

之前睇電視劇「原來愛上賊」,唔知呢間餐廳係邊,但係覺得佢外牆好靚,就同老公講,下次我地要試下呢間餐廳... 後來老公靜雞雞訂左位同我慶祝... 老公訂o既係window seat,不過呢個window seat旁邊係一大幅牆,所以有window等於無window... 呢度o既嘢食都幾大份,我地叫左一個頭盤combo,白酒煮蜆,萍果批配雪糕就已經好飽...果頭盤combo都幾好味,最值得推介係白酒煮蜆,D蜆肉好肥美,白酒煮O既忌廉汁超好味... 而甜品就不過不失... 環境都幾好,幾浪漫...

噚日同老婆走左轉赤柱.晚餐去左呢間.-Ultimate Salad $110 ok-Crab Cake & Kaxxxx Cake (唔記得點串) $92 fair (食得出的急凍蟹肉味)-牛柳+lobster $330 (叫medium,出黍時,牛係凍,但內裹是medium well, lobster 係凍至暖,連薯蓉都只係暖) 最終忍唔住去叫左exchange. mgr 解釋係即做. 是但啦. 最後,佢地返熱左給我地. 雖然牛柳竟有'壓味',真係好難受. One weekend, we decided to take a walk around Stanley and stayed for lunch. My friend had always spoken glowingly about Boathouse and I wanted to see whether it was worth all that praise, so we headed there after shopping. There was a short wait and we stood under the blazing sun for about 10 minutes before we got a table under the tent. One weekend, we decided to take a walk around Stanley and stayed for lunch. My friend had always spoken glowingly about Boathouse and I wanted to see whether it was worth all that praise, so we headed there after shopping. There was a short wait and we stood under the blazing sun for about 10 minutes before we got a table under the tent.

While waiting in line, we saw a lady with her young son sharing a plate of guinness ribs and they looked great. We ordered that and a plate of fish and chips to share. The food came in about 15 minutes, and our ribs looked every bit as good as the lady's. The ribs were meaty and sweet, but I couldn't quite see the guinness in it, aside from the dark color of the ribs. It had a smoky aftertaste, perhaps too smoky.

While I liked the ribs, I couldn't help the comparison to ribs from Tony Romas. Is that fair? The ribs from Tony have always been enjoyable because the meat falls off the bone. Boathouse's was much chunkier and meaty, but it didn't have the same satisfying finish for me. The toughness of some pieces also detracted from the experience, though I have to give credit to the restaurant for really sizable portions. I think I got my money's worth.

But the fish and chips were disappointing. The portions were similarly large, but what came was tasteless fish in soggy batter. I had heard good things about the fish and chips here and was eagerly hoping for some surprises, but nope, didn't happen.

沒有任何計劃下入了赤柱行了半天, 最後來了這家近日常常係螢光幕見到的藍屋. 入到去, 當然沒有劉松仁, 店員只係清一色外藉人士. 店方安排了我們係樓上的位置, 開著大窗戶, 望著行人, 看看海, 高居臨下, 係相當之寫意. 環境係一定要給滿分.由於下午吃完自助餐, 吃不下太多, 只係要了以下食物:Tetley half pint $30: 這環境之下飲杯啤酒, 實為樂事. 美景之前, 同文迪共進晚餐. 人生有如此享受, 已經滿足.Pineapple juice $35: 文迪不飲酒了, 只飲果汁.Garlic bread with eggplant dip, green olive pesto and romesco $60: 8分, 這裡的蒜蓉包係用上排包去做的, 跟吃開的有點不同, 比較大件. 蒜蓉味都幾香口的. 特別之處係有三種醬汁去點, 豐富了口感. 一客有六件, 吃完這個都開始飽了.Braised veal ravioli with brown butter and parmesan $152: 8分, 要了個牛肉意大利雲吞, 面頭又有件蒜蓉包, 真係食飽包食飽. 牛肉帶點鹹

Braised veal ravioli with brown butter and parmesan $152: 8分, 要了個牛肉意大利雲吞, 面頭又有件蒜蓉包, 真係食飽包食飽. 牛肉帶點鹹味, 配上香口的牛油同埋巴馬臣芝士, 幾匹配.

Death by Chocolate - a warn chocolate truffle filled cake with vanilla ice-cream $70: 8分, 一個相當浪漫的名稱. 外層質感幾好, 一打開個頂, 也做到流心的效果, 而朱古力味係好濃郁的. 也有點酒香, 豐富了味道. 雪糕用上了脆皮盛著, 好像在吃雪糕筒似的, 幾得意.

食物水準幾好, 環境更加係無得彈. 加上有折扣, 其實都幾抵食的, 係值得推介的餐廳.

So we waited for a bit and they didn't get back to us whether we could have the table or not. So, we asked again (1st time), " is that table OK?" the guy told us to wait. then we wait.

asked 2nd time when i saw them cleaning up the tables " are you freeing up the table for us?" ... again, the server told us IMPATIENTLY, " Just wait!"

I mean, first, its a YES or a NO? coz if its a NO then i am not gonna stand around for nothing. It was then, i saw a family approaching from the pedestrian sidewalk to the server cleaning the table (That we waited for, at the restaurant entrance from a distance to the table) and pointing and from the gestures it looks like they want that table.

SO, for the THIRD TIME, i walked over to the servers cleaning, and said, we are waiting for the table, when can we get seated?

again, they told me to go back to the entrance to wait. So i assume they know wut they're doing and will give us the table after i've repeatedly asked them.

In a few minutes, i saw the family, SITTING DOWN AT THE TABLE I WAITED 15 minutes and asked 3 times for.

I was really pissed off and went over and asked the server, hey, I was waiting for the table outside and you guys kept telling me to wait and wait and now u give the table away? what is this?!

and the guy said "No, you never told me you're waiting for this table"

i'm like " you must be kidding me, i asked various staff, for 3 different times"

and he said " well you did not ask me then. did you ask me? was it me? did i tell you ?"

i'm like..i don't know which but i asked 3 different guys. i was thinking, what? I am not here to recognize your faces coz i don't work here! and then he said again " No I don't know about this so, its none of my business" (So if its not ur business whose business is it!??)

i was just simply so mad by then. what kind of attitude is this? First, they did not give me any answer whether I could have a table or not. it is wrong to begin with, to put me off for serveral times and not assure me whether i will be seated. and now after waiting so long you give my table away and pretend you didnt' know about me waiting there? and telling me off in a really cocky and bad attitude? This you call customer service??

While the guy was being rude to us, my friend went over to him and asked for his name. His name was Leo Ng. And then we were going to leave because we were SO GOING TO COMPLAIN. then he started to get nervous, and came after us (still with an attitude). " so now you tell me do you want the table now" ( what kind of attitude is that asking your costumer? am i begging from you or what? )

and i'm like " No man we don't want that table anymore" when there are about 10 other restaurants right next door ready to give imppecable service to their customers and ensure they have a good time!

So, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE unless you wanna get bullied around and mistreated like you're worthless!!

went there last night with bf. we were repeatedly recommended the garlic bread once we sat down at our table. we did order that and it turned out average-ish, nothing spectacular. it was only after trying the rest of the dishes that i understand why e waiter said the garlic bread was "very popular and very good".ordered one of the house specialties, the Seafood Bucket (small), supposedly an assortment of prawns, clams and mussels. but there were only 2 tasteless prawns, 2 so-so clams and e res

it was only after trying the rest of the dishes that i understand why e waiter said the garlic bread was "very popular and very good".

ordered one of the house specialties, the Seafood Bucket (small), supposedly an assortment of prawns, clams and mussels. but there were only 2 tasteless prawns, 2 so-so clams and e rest of the buckets are filled with soft, mushy tasting mussels (probably cos they were e cheapest of the lot, hence e quantity). stale seafood as house specialties? hmmm...

after the disappointing seafood, we had e mushroom risotto which was yet another disaster. the risotto rice was overcooked to a gooey texture (an unforgivable mistake made by anyone who called themselves 'chef') and the dish was so salty that it overcame the rest of the flavours. so, it was just gooey and salty.

in the end, it turned out that the garlic bread was the best tasting of the lot and i guess the only redeeming quality of the entire experience is the view we had from the balcony.

趁著農歷年假,重臨久未踏足的赤柱,一心想歎歎露天茶座,怎料路旁堆滿圍欄和泥沙,實在大殺風景。我和老公貫徹多人的餐廳大多有水準的蹾 食策略,選了第一間亦是最旺的Boathouse,本來老公對隔離Seafront鬼佬在吃的大大塊炸魚薯條更感興趣,可惜一問之下,我的摯愛青口竟售罄,結果還是stick to Boathouse.起初想點Seafood Platter,但好心經理提醒我那是冷盤(天氣冷嘛),他說如想嘗青口、蜆和蝦,大可用white wine煮熱吃。另外還點了老公想吃的炸魚薯條。價錢不算貴,海鮮雜錦大Size不過$198,若去中環Soho起碼要$200多元。用桶上很別緻和耐熱,白汁sauce亦很creamy,不過幾咸,吃後要不停喝水。d蜆好大隻,大部份沒有沙和新鮮。青口亦不像普通貨色。只是送的蒜蓉飽腍bat bat,唔知想點。至於炸魚薯條則比較失色,魚柳細細塊,不及Seafront的吸引。這裏有不少狗友帶埋狗狗鈬 進餐,儼如狗餐廳,我也忍不住餵了鄰座鬼情侣的大狗Max一點飽和薯條。
