相信好多人都食過麥記巨無霸.一啖好勉強先食到整個.這個DOUBLE HAPPINESS..絕對大過佢不少.這份量.一個人食完真的有點勉強.感覺仲係DOUBLE SIZE 左人地個普通包.本來都想嘗試一啖咬晒所有層.但只能咬到一半....食左一陣.決定將佢一分為二,上半有上半食.下半有下半食.不過反轉左上半後.因為太多汁..個包唔再脆..有點可惜.牛肉有牛肉濃香.又唔乾.厚度老公形容為好似一舊肉丸..還要有2舊,可想而知滿足到很高...麵包仲有焊底多士香,這方面真係令人回味...芝士也有芝士香.雖然用麥記豬柳漢堡同佢比好似對佢不太尊重,但芝士真的比較香..煙肉有煙肉香但未夠香.舊PICKLE...無味.反而有點失望..個鴨油炸的薯條.$20..其實相比起個包$160.即刻覺得好平.試落..無乜特別..也食不出鴨油炸有什麼不同......雖然個包要$160.但佢有基本包既DOUBLE 份量..係性價比上,佢應該在店裡算不錯的選擇!SECRET MENU原來唔可以外賣,唯有乖乖坐底食...夜麻麻坐在後巷BAR 枱位.如果唔係間餐廳咁多人..真係有點驚有老鼠出沒..夏天著住涼鞋坐係依D 地方好

不過反轉左上半後.因為太多汁..個包唔再脆..有點可惜.

牛肉有牛肉濃香.又唔乾.厚度老公形容為好似一舊肉丸..還要有2舊,可想而知滿足到很高...
麵包仲有焊底多士香,這方面真係令人回味...
芝士也有芝士香.雖然用麥記豬柳漢堡同佢比好似對佢不太尊重,但芝士真的比較香..
煙肉有煙肉香但未夠香.舊PICKLE...無味.反而有點失望..

個鴨油炸的薯條.$20..其實相比起個包$160.即刻覺得好平.試落..無乜特別..也食不出鴨油炸有什麼不同......
雖然個包要$160.但佢有基本包既DOUBLE 份量..係性價比上,佢應該在店裡算不錯的選擇!

SECRET MENU原來唔可以外賣,唯有乖乖坐底食...

夜麻麻坐在後巷BAR 枱位.如果唔係間餐廳咁多人..真係有點驚有老鼠出沒..夏天著住涼鞋坐係依D 地方好易沒安全感..不過其實人夠多氣氛唔錯.雖然貴,但都有點想返去再食....

題外話/補充資料: 可以用八達通比錢..因為個價錢唔係少..食完再去買野先發覺.可能得閒要去加大增值個額了...差點搭車都唔夠..

Don't think too large, in fact it is just a simple and cool burger shop, in grey and black; even the location is quite hidden from the public, while in Hong Kong, a good-place-to-go can never hide well from those people having sensitive noses. The deco is quite American-raw, perfectly matching to the original experience of 'Big-bite'.

5th August, Round 1 of A-Burger-Takeover, is taking place with a long queue during the peak lunch time when I was passing by. Pick up the afternoon break interval I was arranged myself quite comfortable there with a wooden plate of special Meatball Burger ($160) created by the famous Chef, Vinny Lauria, who's the Executive Chef of several western restaurant in Hong Kong. The Meatball Burger is really juicy and tender with the soft bun with sesame.
My point actually doesn't fall on the burger itself, the interesting way to order this special burger is quite interesting to me. The working crew told me they were asking every customer to be clear about what they want before they made their decision. In fact, the menu of A-Burger-Takeover, is hidden behind a QR code on the post everywhere online/offline. What eater should do is, make an easy research about what's going on about The Butchers Club, and 'study' what's the special offer before they were lead by public media. It sounds a little arrogant, while I am appreciated to this point in terms of a respect attitude to what you gonna take into your mouth.

Talking back to the classic burger menu, which has my favorite Classic Cheeseburger ($100) and I would like to give more marks to it. Using 100% dry-aged 300+ day grain-fed Australian Angus beef, and served freshly, it is such an evil bite which is a little bit raw in texture that you can have an authentic Angus beef experience. 'What I want for a burger is the slight rough and wildness, com-on, I have taken too much McDonald's in my life!' Oops, narrowly forgot the awesome melted cheddar cheese and greasy bacon, which are the glue to get fluffy bun attached.

Had quite a bad experience while ordering. Was told the burger menu only consist of The burger ($100) and the special black widow burger, so ordered The burger. Only when I was waiting for my burger, I was some different looking burgers coming out of the kitchen. Then I asked what if someone doesn't have a phone that scans QR code and I got a rather funny answer: "then you can take the leaflet home and try next time.". Not too sure what to do with that answer, so I sat in frustration.

After a good 20mins in heat, (aircon was not good enough, open kitchen, open doors, open windows), the food finally arrived.

Burger ($100): only so so, flavouring was not good enough, a bit blend. Does not worth a $100 at all.

Fries ($20): not too crispy, tasted ok

Coke ($20): well over-priced!!

Need to mention, I saw a cooking staff passing a piece of bacon to a serving staff over the food she is about to serve. A bit unhygienic really.

Honestly, truly disappointed.

I have finally made an effort to post something on openrice!! After trying out several burger places in Hong Kong, I have to say that i am actually quite disappointed with the quality these restaurants are serving.$100 dollars per burger? Really? Ok.....they do say that their beef have been aged, and thats why its supposed to be really good.. All i can say is, the patty was not juicy at all, and the grease and mayo just really covered up and ruin the original flavour of the patty.Fat duck fries-

Anyhow, we were lucky to find two indoor seats at 1215pm, and I went straight to the queue to make my order. Didn't know why the cashier girl took sooo long to take orders - there's basically only THE burger and THE fries on the food menu.  I ordered a $20 canned coke light for my colleague and I opted for the healthier (and cheaper) option of fresh juice in the local shop just around the corner (oops!).

Two original burgers, one order of duck fat fries and a canned pop costed to a total of *ching ching* $240.  I would say this is an acceptable price, yet definitely not cheap, for dry-aged beef or so as they claimed on the website. They do have root beer and cherry coke on the menu FYI, at a cost of $30 each, canned. 

After 13min or so our food arrived. Burger itself was not big, but to be fair, the meat patty was pretty thick, at least so wide that I wasn't able to bite through the entire deck of burger at one go. And no, this isn't a place to show your proper etiquette - they don't have forks so gotta go with your hands!

The bun was grilled but was apparently served at room temperature by the time our order arrived. The beef was juicy, tender and cooked just right, but I felt that the overall burger was lacking flavor so I had to add some hot sauce onto it.

The fattening sauce was generously applied on the bun though and the taste of melted butter was good (how could it not, right?).

The potato wedges were a little too salty, perhaps that's their way of balancing the lack of flavor of the burger?  But, at least the fries were not soggy!

So what's the hype all about?  Probably because it's an affordable burger joint in the proximity of Star Street with Caucasian chefs?  Been there, done that. Not likely I'll have another go at it although it's conveniently located in my hood.

外賣得一款,冇其他選擇,牛肉都幾厚,邊位唔算好乾,中間位幾juicy...仲會係咁滴水,又唔太油,幾好味!包唔係特別好好好大個,一個女仔都食得晒!薯條話係用鴨油炸,食落外脆肉軟,咸咸地!而另一方面,係要等好耐,排長隊,11:45去到未開但已有人排梗隊,12:10左右開門,買完就再等左45分鐘,足足去到1:20先拎到外賣!價錢都有點貴,$100 一個包,冇餐,汽水一罐$30,薯條$20!

已經不是第一次來到這間小店享受美味既漢堡, 今次就是為了一日只有一個的 500克 牛肉漢堡來的, 於是一早就來到等開門, 店長知我們一早來到, 還好好心的叫我們到對面的 CAFE 先坐坐, 不想我們辛苦, 當然為了這個漢堡, 我地沒有聽話啦。等了一會, 對於開店了, 我當然點了期待以久的 巨型牛肉漢堡 及 薯條, 因這個牛肉比較大的關係, 也需要長一點的時間等。不久, The Chuck 終於來到桌上, 我跟其他的食客都被它嚇了一跳! 我把漢堡一分為二, 入面還是嫩嫩的粉紅色, 不會 overcook ! 這間小店的漢堡比一般外國漢堡店的水準還要高。裝修, 格調也令食客有著外國既氣氛 ! 我相信不久既將來我會再次光顧這間餐廳 !!

是咁的,在最熱的三十四度天氣下跑到灣仔歎歎,餐單有隱世餐單,有華人與洋人,有一群努力與牛肉拼搏的廚師。等了十分鐘左右,好大的漢堡包現世,我走了煙肉,包身暖而脆,牛肉厚而巨,多汁多油一,有點過熟又有有點咸,漢堡牛肉的質感,整體味道不錯,不過牛肉太多,我邊食牛肉邊跌走😂有點兒狼狽。一百蚊好貴,但食個扒仲貴。如果可以選埋要邊忽用做漢堡就正!

等了十分鐘左右,好大的漢堡包現世,我走了煙肉,包身暖而脆,牛肉厚而巨,多汁多油一,有點過熟又有有點咸,
漢堡牛肉的質感,整體味道不錯,不過牛肉太多,我邊食牛肉邊跌走😂有點兒狼狽。

一百蚊好貴,但食個扒仲貴。如果可以選埋要邊忽用做漢堡就正!

I had arrived at about 12:20 at noon and already the shop was filled with customers... that was a good sign.  There was a small line up but nothing that would scare me away.  I immediately noticed the incredibly small and exclusive menu.  Burger, duck fat fries and few drinks selection.  Burger was $100hkd, Duck Fat Fries were $20hkd and drinks ranged from $20-50hkd.

My colleague and I had both order a burger and a coca cola.  We were reluctant to order any of the specialty colas cause quite frankly $20 for a coke is quite ridiculous in itself (considering it was really just a small burger joint) nevermind paying $30 for a root beer which I could have easily paid $10 for at the 7-11 across the street.

The burgers took a while (around 20 minutes) and I thought well "good things aways need to wait."  As the server delivered our burgers with her great service (and this I truly mean), this was my impression...

I had not done any read ups about this place and do not know what kind of meat or culinary skill was put into these burgers but the first bite... No surprise.  It didn't feel much different from a burger from Cali Burger down the road, or Big Bite in North Point.  The bun was nice, and the burger bun reminded me of a well made ciabatta.  While it didn't get soggy till the very end (maybe that was my fault since I was squeezing the burger a fair bit.)  The burger was a little greasy but that didn't bother me much.  What did bother me was that there was not much flavour in the meat patty at all.  It was all from the salty seasoning.  For me a good burger must taste like good beef and honestly I tasted grease, the salty seasoning and the texture of the mince (that's good because I hate patties that have been formed with force and beaten down to a pulp).  

I was really surprised this self proclaimed gourmet burger haven used this weird salad dressing/sauce on it's burger.  Do I hear Hong Kong Triple O's or McDonalds shogun burger?  A good meat patty does not need sauce.  That's why it is char-grilled, to add that flavor into the great meat flavor it should have but I reckon they added this sauce cause the beef patty apart from the seasoning and grease, was flavorless.  

The burger was not small but it wasn't big neither considering they were charging $100.  So if you ask me whether my opinion of this burger have been affected by their price?  Well sure, I mean it's not because they are expensive, but because they are serving me something that doesn't meet up to it price.  I don't mind paying $150 for a burger if it tastes like a $150 burger, but this burger tastes like a $50 burger.  

So whether or not it's worth giving a try it's up to you but if there is a line up I would rather head down to the other burger place nearby (I am in no way associated with them), spend $100 get some onion rings, same quality burger and a fountain pop.

之前常常經過位處灣仔的這間餐廳,一直也見到很多人在排隊。今天參觀書展後,終於有機會可以試試這家餐廳了!到達門口時,外面已經人山人海,初還以為好似像little bao要先拿票才入座,但原來是要客人自己找位子。這間餐廳跟little bao一樣店面都是非常細小的,還有 open kitchen,及後我和友人一共叫了三個burger。第一個是基本的$100套餐,麵包十分軟熟,裏面更有芝士、bacon和他們特製的sauce,當然還有他們的招牌牛肉漢堡啦,急不及待咬了一口後,發現牛肉十分嫩滑,而且每口也充滿濃濃的肉汁,十分美味!另外朋友更叫了一個double size的burger,裏面多了兩三塊牛肉,跟麥當勞的big mac或者足三兩很相似,但當然味道好太多啦~另一個朋友則叫了一款特製的burger,這份漢堡中的牛肉被製成一個大球體,牛肉外熟內生,,應該是半生熟的,味道比較濃郁,一個女生應該未必吃不下~之後,我們還叫了ice cream float,店員會把一個裝了半滿雪糕的杯和一支可樂給我,雖然這兩個配答平平無奇,但味道卻出奇地match!!其實除了可樂外,還有其他酒精飲品可以加在雪糕裏,

Duck fat fries
吃過burgar後,叫了他們的薯條,好可惜可能已經飽了,便覺得薯條沒有太特別,總括而言這間店舖,價錢都十分合理。對比起little bao 同 burgar room 這個也蠻值得大家嘗試的。

My colleague and I know the shop is opening from 12pm.  We start queuing up outside the restaurant at 11:50am. We are the first ones to queue up there.  However, the staff comes out and asks us to queue up in the other direction.  People start queuing up again and we become the 5th in the queue.  I can say the queue up arrangement is in a mess


When we enter the shop, some people start searching for a seat and some keep on queue up for order food. We find our seats and need to queue up again for the food.  Finally we get the order number of #24 for the food


We order 2 burgers + 2 soft drinks.  Our burgers arrive at 12:30pm.  I am totally disappointed for the first bite. The bread is cold and the beef inside is just warm only.  I couldn't believe such burger would cost me a hundred dollar. 

I can say the beef inside are good, well fried, but not too juicy.  The sauce and the pickles are just so so only.  I think it's just a normal burger not worth for such a long queue or charge for $100. 

Most of the customers are foreigners.  Maybe we HK people have different taste or preference of burgers here?

I am sure I won't visit again. So disappointed for the lunch there today

Boyfriend and I came here for lunch, taking his sister and a friend along as they haven't tasted the glorious burger. We arrived at 12:30 pm on a Friday and waited around for a seat as it was insanely busy with the office lunch crowd. We all ordered a regular burger except boyfriend who ordered the Chuck. The Chuck is one of the secret menu burgers and it's basically 500 grams of beef. The staff told him it would probably take 40 minutes.

So, I ordered a ice cream float. It came with A&W rootbeer and vanilla ice cream as it should be. However, the day was so hot, it just wasn't cold enough. But still great.

And so we waited. Since they served all of us at the same time and the Chuck took the longest to make, we waited. And waited. And waited. We waited an hour and a half. The staff came over to apologize for the wait and gave us a round of drinks on the house to keep us happy.

Then the burgers came. We ordered only one set of duck fat fries to share but since we waited so long for our burgers, they gave us another set on the house. And apologized again. The burgers were so good. Amazingly perfect in every way. And the Chuck? It was so big, it was obscene. Boyfriend's mouth wasn't big enough to bite it all in one bite. In the end he just ate all the bun and then just held the meat in the other hand. But we noticed for such a big piece of meat, it was perfectly cooked. Perfectly medium rare. Juices still flowed out. After attacking it for a while, boyfriend had a dazed look on his face. A man who was stuffed with meat. The staff came over to chat with us and were super friendly. Apologized again for the wait. Definitely didn't expect that at all. But yes, they are definitely understaffed during office lunch rush hour and I think they knew it.

在休假而晴朗的好日子,又是出外闖蕩食肆的時候。最近打聽到這間火爆的漢堡店,也冒昧的來試試。地點尚算方便,近太古廣場金鐘地鐵站。店舖的間隔稍小而開揚,座置都是較西式的吧枱和高櫈,燈光調暗的格調。其實一走進橫街就已嗅到濃濃的肉香和煎炸味,一踏進門時更不得了,油香四方八面湧來,光嗅著已覺興奮。我與友人相約兩時多才到,人流也不少,只能坐在吧枱角落,但卻能看見開放式廚房裏小廚製作漢堡的景致,肉塊的巨大和粗獷的製作甚為令人驚嘆。最後我們二人點了薯條、重型漢堡 double happiness ,以為份量不多,誰知道一份漢堡,可以長過一把刀鋒⋯double happiness 的精華在於雙份重型牛肉,但我覺得,除此之外,漢堡麵包也很突出。麵包看似是兩塊,但其實一塊是二合為一,中間以一片芝士黏合,即其實有兩個漢堡麵包份量,而漢堡也固之然是有四片芝士;麵包上下兩層及底面烘得十分香脆,而且由於夠厚,不會因肉汁而導致太快濕軟掉。切開漢堡,肉排既厚而多汁,我想應該還沒有人能完整地咬一口。這肉排味道比其他漢堡店不同,不會死硬,也不是鬆散,咬嚼下可吃到粒粒肉沫,肉質也不差。說實在,其他配料如蕃茄其實作用不大,因為

切開漢堡,肉排既厚而多汁,我想應該還沒有人能完整地咬一口。這肉排味道比其他漢堡店不同,不會死硬,也不是鬆散,咬嚼下可吃到粒粒肉沫,肉質也不差。說實在,其他配料如蕃茄其實作用不大,因為每一口都只是肉和肉,完全可蓋過其他;漢堡中也有加上幾片煙肉,而煙肉並非脆煎那種,沒有煎出油脂,可看到完整的脂肪和皮,吃下去十分肥膩,自感有點誇張,不得不故意挑出來。

然而,我的食量還不算少,但連吃一半也感到十分勉強,因為還有十分撐肚子的薯條。外間介紹這裡的薯條是用鴨油炸成,味道倘有少許不同,但沒有太大感覺,反而這裡以粗鹽灑上薯條的特色卻更令我深刻,比起幼鹽帶來更大的味覺刺激。一份十分地道的美式漢堡,令人大快朵頤,但也不得不憂慮過份攝取油鹽及卡路里的危機。幸而我在中午吃,晚上只吃一份輕食來調節,故我建議某些嗜吃又尚健康的朋友儘量避免晚上進食。

We arrived at 11:50 on a Sunday and it wasn't open until 12. We heard music pumping inside, so we decided to walk around first. Arrived at 12 SHARP and found the place packed! We ended up sitting outside!

Building is small, dark, very bar like. You can sit inside on benches or outside at the windows. We sat there and had a friendly chat with people next to me who were chomping their burgers like they had gone to heaven.

To be honest, their menu is simple. One burger. One price. $100. You can also add fries fried not once, not twice but three times in glorious duck fat for $20. Typical soda is served along with Dr. Pepper, Cherry Coke and omg!!! much missed A&W root beer! Yeah, can't seem to find that in Hong Kong. They do have beer...this is PBR. Boyfriend wasn't too impressed with that as they charge $35 for the cheapest watery beer from the USA when at that price they can offer an excellent selection of craft beers. He opted to get a good beer elsewhere. Anyways, I already knew they had a secret menu. It's on their website. It's on the QR codes in the restaurant. But boyfriend and I decided to try the one offered on the original menu as it was our first time.

The burgers are ground on site. Meat is a mixture of chuck, rump and brisket. From the photo you can see the meat in the fridge. It's an assembly line. One guy grinds, one guy shapes and seasons, one guy cooks away. They tell you it takes about 20 minutes before you can devour away. But, honestly, it didn't seem that long a wait.

Burgers were served on a wooden board with a nice white paper underneath. The burger included a slice of cheddar, honey glazed bacon, tomato, pickles, onion spread and secret sauce that tasted like a mix of thousand island and mayo. It was....omg....can your brain be blown away when you eat a burger? The answer is yes. The patty was perfect in every way. Medium rare. Moist. Juicy. I bit in and juices flowed down my fingers. The cheese melted away. It's messy. It's glorious. The bun was soft, lightly toasted. Brain KABOOM! Any burger I once thought was ok, passable, pretty good....GO AWAY! I've finally found the burger of my dreams. I want to marry this burger, it's so good. Boyfriend laughed at how messy and unlady like I looked with flour from the bun all over my mouth.

Duck fat fries were really unhealthy. One serving was pretty small but it came in a cute mini Chinatown take away box. Fries were big. Soft on the inside. Crispy outside. Lightly seasoned with salt. Went fantastic with ketchup.

A few people may think $100 is expensive for a burger. But honestly, it's not for if you think about it, most "better" burger places cost around $70 - 100. But these guys do a burger like it's supposed to.

Definitely be back. Will tell my friends. Next time try the secret menu stuff. Boyfriend heard there is a challenge burger. He wants to try.

The burgers were filled with pickle, bacon, cheese and some sort of mayo sauce. The meat patty was juicy, but we were disappointed that the bun was not toasted and only at room temperature.
For $100 burger at a very casual atmosphere, I probably would not come back often.
