In the area doing Chinese New Year errands, the three of us decided to eat nearby and chose 魚事者 (English name: Fisholic) as it seemed like a casual place for a bowl of fish ball noodles. At least that is what we thought. However, when we sat down, it was anything but. While we were waiting for a table, I noticed they sell dog treats! The restaurant isn't very big but they do have some very colorful decor.Menu is in English and Chinese.  There is no 10% service charge.  Ordering is done by scanning

Menu is in English and Chinese.  There is no 10% service charge.  Ordering is done by scanning a QR code. This is alo in English and Chinese. There are also items that are not found on the physical menu. Standard drinks are included if you order a main. We decided to order things to share.

We started with a Snack Platter ($55). This includeded Fried Fish Shaomai, Fried Fish Cilantro Shaomai, Fish AS Chips, Chicken Cartilage all with a Thai sweet chilli sauce.  The best was definitely the Fish AS Chips. These were fish meat sliced to look like fries and fried. Perfectly seasoned, crisp and chewy at the same time. Definitely moorish. The shaomai was quite good but the ones with the cilantro was definitely better.

The Fishdog With Seaweed Seasoning ($28) was basically a fish ball in one long shape and stuck on  stick. Definitely interesting and I can see this more of a street snack.

You can choose a sauce and we chose the Spicy Fish Paste. Very spicy with a strong umami taste.

Fish-Chos ($33) are deep fried fish skins served with guacomole and salsa. Much like nachos but with fish skin. One of the most creative ways to eat fish skin.

My friend added a Mentaiko Tamago ($13) when you order a main. The egg was fluffy and very sweet with bits of mentaiko mixed in. Topped with plenty of nori.

One of our mains was the Fishotto ($85). I loved this. It was one of the most creative items using fish I've ever had. Fish noodles cut into tiny pieces in a creamy sauce. Topped with flying fish roe for crunch so it didn't feel like it was all soft and mushy. It really felt like a risotto.

Viet Chicken Wings With Garlic Sauce ($75) was the other main we shared.  It was served with a side of fish noodles that was springy and dressed with a bit of sesame oil. The wings were moist and tender, dressed heavily with a garlic sauce.

As it was near Chinese New Year, they had a promo where you will get a slice of Coconut New Year Pudding if you follow their social media page. We did and got ourselves a slice. It was coated lightly in egg an pan fried. A strong coconut taste. The pudding itself was soft and chewy.

We went in thinking it was a just a regular fish noodle place and left surprised that they created a lot of other dishes that revolved around fish. Very creative and will definitely be back to try out other items. Or at least get the Fish AS Chips again.
