Winter = Hot Pot. I guess no one will disagree with me. This time I discovered a hidden gem in Sham Shui Po called Uncle Boy which has already opened for 4 years serving up quality homemade soups and fresh ingredients.We ordered a set for two which guests could choose from a selection of soups, meat, meatballs, dumplings and noodles.Highly recommending their Satay Soup packed with peanut flavor. Extra rich and intense.We munched on some snacks while waiting for the pot to be ready. Smashed Cucum

We munched on some snacks while waiting for the pot to be ready. Smashed Cucumber & Black Fungus was slightly spicy, refreshing and appetizing. Deep-fried Fish Skin in Salted Egg Yolk, as their signature, was prepared by order. Crunchy and savory. Must-eat especially with an ice cold beer.
Wonton and Dumpling with shrimps and minced meat fillings were delicately seasoned. The freshly made Squid Ball and Shrimp Ball had a moist and bouncy texture.
As for the meat, we picked Spanish Pork Belly with a fair meat to fat ratio, and New Zealand Lamb which was slightly gamey and went exceptionally well with the satay soup.
The set also included baby cabbage and Inaniwa udon. Such a generous portion that we could barely finish.
In addition to the excellent food, the place was neat and clean with comfy seatings. The staff also showed great hospitality. Definitely worth revisiting!
