When you walk into this restaurant, the first thing you will notice are the scribblings on the walls. These are autographs from celebrities and people wanting to leave their mark. It's famous for their crab dishes, congee, and rice noodles -- I've tried their crab dishes before, and found that it was rather dry. The congee, if not eaten right away, will become watery the longer it sits on the table. My favorite is the rice noodles with roast duck. More details below.Rice Noodles With Roast Duck
Rice Noodles With Roast Duck 燒鴨河粉 ($32)
[The menu lists this item as 'roast duck white noodle in soup']
Soup base: The soup base is extremely rich and flavorful.
Noodles: The noodles are rolled out and cut thinly -- they give just enough of a bite with an almost silky texture. However, I have noticed that there are less noodles in the bowl now than before.
Roast Duck: I feel as though the roast duck just adds a little more flavor to the soup and noodles -- it's good, but if I were to get a second bowl, I'd opt for just the noodles and soup ($27)
As for the service, the servers can come off as pushy with an attitude. You get the feeling that they want you to order as quickly as possible so that they can get you out quickly and serve more guests. This isn't such a problem if you go after 10pm. And really, if you're just going in for a bowl of noodles, it won't take you long to eat anyway.
