I have been going there for dinner once every two or three months because the food is reasonably good and the setting is quiet. There was an incident today and I have decided that this would be my last time going.Three of us ordered a pot of soup (pork lung), a clay pot soy sauce chicken, a tofu clay pot and a clear vegetable dish. Three of us ordered a pot of soup (pork lung), a clay pot soy sauce chicken, a tofu clay pot and a clear vegetable dish. The captain suggested that we try the beef cheek which is tonight's special. We agreed. And we shared one small order of sweet soup at the end of the meal.
The bill at the end was close to $1,200. A bit too much for a simple meal. We asked to see the breakdown and the captain said there is no breakdown and we can look can the individual bill written in some lousy handwriting. We asked individually, and the cheek was over $300 and the soup was close to $300 and the rest add up.
It may be unfair to come to the conclusion that the act was dishonest. But that is way too much for a simple family meal of very uncomplicated dishes. I will not go back again. That may be the reason why on a Friday night at 8pm, half of the tables were unfilled.
