Went to celebrate my mom's birthday. The entrance was impressive and stylish, and the receptionist was reasonably hospitable. Perhaps it was the design of the restaurant. At mid-day, it was slightly too hot for my liking. The whole ambiance was very relaxing, really like their skylight. We both chose the HK$395 lunch set with the appetizer buffet (not the daily lunch set which does not include the choice of buffet). The bread was a bit disappointing as it was clearly not freshly made, very chewy and only luke warm when it reached our table. Appetizer buffet was delightful. I really liked the beetroot salad, which was refreshing (although I saw the same salad being offered at the restaurant one floor above at half the price!). The mushroom salad, parma ham and mini quiche were all very good. Seafood clearly was not the main draw of the appetizer buffet, but was still of a reasonable standard (albeit a bit limited in choice). I chose chicken for the main. The sauce tasted good, but the chicken was slightly overcooked. Dessert were not particularly memorable. The macaroon was too sweet and overpowered by the coconut ice-cream (which was flavourful). The desserts platter (which name I have forgotten) was okay, although nothing so good that it sticks to my memory. On that particular day, service was very attentive but this really depends on who is serving your table as I returned one week later and the waitress who served me that time was extremely frustrating. For this price I personally prefer Isola (at least it was less of a walk!) , but this is not a bad place for having a long relaxing lunch.
