Let’s visit one of my favourite cafes for a holiday reset by the seaside. Year of the Snake is around the corner, we feel obliged to order from the celebration menus. Never skip the cream waffles because they make THE BEST in town. This new year edition has dried persimmon; a persimmon-shaped cream mochi; honeycomb; and a jar of fruity persimmon sauce. Everything tasted amazing and we nodded in strong approval.

Persimmon green tea with cream top is another winner, it’s finely balanced and mixed with ripe sweet persimmon flesh. If you like hot coffee, try the tangerine latte, which is citrousy and refreshing.

We also shared a delicious and tender roasted slow-cooked chicken leg with bibimbap, and a plate of smoked salmon green salad- remember to do a prosperity toss (撈起!) as there’s yummy burrata cheese spiralled inside the salmon roses.
How brilliant and lovely are the names of these New Year dishes? I was in awe mentally, visually and tastefully, being happily satiated, I’m sure good luck would stick around in the new year.
