Well well. The recipe of snake soup in Hong Kong Snake Shop market had evolved, especially in the last decades. Some critics prefers the herbal taste in the soups, while others prefer the meaty chunk. No matter which taste one favors the most, it is agreed that the snake soup had became more affordable. People can simply enjoy the bowl of soup at the price of the "set lunch" or rather the fish ball noodle.

Although soup has become accessible to the public, quality of the soup may also be undermined due to the mass production. Some people seems to equate the no. of visible snake meat with quality. Obviously, the preparation is more sophisticated than dumping and slabbing ingredients together. It take ingenuity to prepare the soup base from various food source. Having tried many cuisines, I always savor and appreciate the wholesome taste in the snake soup at Sher Wong Yip. At least, there isn't any snake soup near my workplace.
