For godbro XO's birthday dinner this year, I found a restaurant that fits the "theme" of his birth-month celebration perfectly--a restaurant in Tai Hang named Tipsy!  Every birth-month meal so far has had alcohol involved, and XO has left each celebration, at least, tipsy! Tipsy is located on the first level of a residential/hotel building in Tai Hang, and from the street corner, you can see the sign on the balcony which points you to the direction of the restaurant. As soon as I was seated in t

As soon as I was seated in the restaurant, I noticed the lights on the ceiling!  Will the tipsy lights make you more tipsy when you are under the influence of alcohol?

As I was stuck in traffic on my way to the restaurant, XO already got started with his happy hour ordering the buy one, get one prosecco.  I was not going to compete with the amount he's going to drink, so I ordered a cocktail (which is not part of the happy hour promotion.)

Rosy Cheek: The cocktail was very refreshing with a prominent citrus flavor, but I could do with just a tad less of the grapefruit's bitterness.  I'm really sensitive to bitter flavors.  The grapefruit flavor really only hits you at the end, so the cocktail itself was actually quite delicious!

As XO's focus is more on drinks, he ordered 2 appetizers, while I ordered an appetizer and a main course for dinner.

Calamari Fritti with Squid Ink Aioli: I'm used to having fried calamari with marinara sauce, so I was a little iffy on the squid ink aioli, but it was really tasty and not weird at all!  The squid ink aioli was a little tangy and paired well with the crunchy calamari!

King Prawn Ravioli with Sea Urchin Cream and Fennel Foam: The first thing you'd notice from this pasta dish is how it was beautifully-plated!  And, the pasta tasted even better than it looked!

The ravioli had just the right pasta thickness, and when I bit into it, first, I get the crunch from the big chunk of king prawn, then a burst of  succulent sea urchin flavor while the fennel foam bubbles start to pop and fill my mouth with the silky sauce!  The sauce was so delicious I almost wanted to lick the plate clean!

Warm 70% Chocolate Tart and Mascarpone Cheese: The chocolate filling had a rich chocolate flavor and a smooth texture, while the crust was crispy and not overly thick.  The mascarpone cheese component tasted similar to an ice cream and topped with crunchy sweet crumble.

When the manager heard that we were celebrating XO's birthday, he generously treated us to this Arran Gold Cream Liqueur, which was perfect with the chocolate tart!  (It tasted like the famous Irish cream liquor with whisky!  Yum!)

I hope XO enjoyed his birthday dinner at Tipsy.  Well, he was definitely a little tipsy when we left, so he probably had a good time!
