At first I thought it was Macanese cuisine because of the crispy bun with fish, but one of the reviews said it was Burmese.
Although I had bookmarked this place I thought the location was in Sham Shui Po so it was not in my Shamshuipo list, I found it accidentally when I clicked the Cheungshawan location.

When I got out of the MTR exit I was a bit disorientated because the roads all looked the same, but luckily my instinct told me to go straight-ahead which was in the right direction, but when I reached the street I didn’t realise this shop was round the corner.

I was really lucky that I gave this place a visit because they are going to close down temporarily until they rent a new location for the shop.

After I tried the food I was addicted and looked on OpenRice to see if there were any other Burmese restaurants around.
There were three listed including this one and the other two were already closed down!

Hopefully this place will find a new location or it will become the last legend for Myanmar food in Hong Kong until the next one opens.

As I see it, there is only a tiny majority that likes Myanmar food and not many people know about it.
It seems that it can only do well if they opened a really upper end expensive restaurant with good quality ingredients or open a small joint serving food at extremely cheap prices at a busy location.

The noodles with belachan itself were only $15 but added extra curry beef belly to it which was an extra $14.
The beef had a lot of fat but otherwise the curry taste was ok.
The noodles were sprinkled with their home made belachan which had pieces of dried garlic, scallions etc with soy sauce.
The noodles were really delicious.

I also tried this because there were a lot of interesting ingredients such as the Banana tree stem, yellow ginger and lemon grass.
The banana tree stem was really interesting and tasted like old celery because it had a lot of roughage.
The soup was a bit different to how I imagined it to taste, the fish taste was not that strong but it was slightly sour which was why I liked it so much.
There were also sliced fried dough sticks which were delicious when it soaked the soup.

For the fish toast, there is a choice of toast or bun. I chose the toast because I wanted uniform toast and for the bun, it seemed like there was more bun in proportion to the fish.
The taste was so delicious I really regretted not ordering a second, I should have tried the bun version as well.
It was filled with finely grounded silky boneless fish.
There were a lot of grounded onions, banana tree stems and other goodies, which made it delicious.

To me the whole meal was really cheap and came to $103, so a few years ago I would probably be only paying around $7X.
I wanted to try the Burmese chicken too but it was sold out.

是日送媽媽返長沙灣後, 便到附近食早午餐. 途經一間小店叫"滋味堡", 標榜緬甸菜及澳門魚湯粉, 於是便入內一試. 店內只有一位工作人員, 應該是老闆娘了. 老闆娘笑容親切, 耐心地向我們介紹該店食物. 之後我和太太點了魚湯粉, 清湯腩豬骨湯麵, 馬拉盞芹菜豬肉餃, 凍奶荼. 老闆娘說魚湯粉主要是喝湯, 粉其次. 雖然湯不太濃, 但味道清甜而不腥. 清湯腩切成小粒, 方便入口, 肉味出奇的濃. 馬拉盞芹菜豬肉餃皮很薄, 亦很好味. 老闆娘說上述食品全是自家製, 我們亦同意, 因為完全感覺不到食物有任何味精或現成材料或雪味, 絶對是值得推介的小店!

運動完畢,又同波友食下午茶,對方提議去滋味堡吃街頭小食,絕對同意。由我發板,先來碟馬拉盞撈麵配牛腩,要粗麵。麵底幾爽口,混埋炒香了的馬拉盞同埋濃濃的豉油,是香口又入味。牛腩如果可以炆得再鬆化一點就更好,不過已經唔錯了。追加一個豬扒包,只是塗了蒜茸、加塊偏韌既豬扒的麵包,未見香脆,平平無奇。飲品有忌廉溝鮮奶,都好耐冇見,不過我只是飲了杯咸檸七,我幾喜歡。

The service was excellent. Probably due to the fact that the waitresses knew we came from far away. They would even cut up some of the noodles, since they knew we wanted to share. Good service is when we ask for something. Great service is when they go beyond the requests by instinct.

The first dish was the Mohinga or 魚湯粉, was delightful. The noodles along with banana stem in fish stock. The national dish of Burma had a soup that compelled me to finish drinking it, when most cheap restaurants would only make me stomach the noodles. The actual dish in Burma would have consisted of fritters and fish cake. But the restaurant made-do with bits of dough sticks of "you tew". The poster at the restaurant insists that this dish is good for the circulation, and we cannot argue.

The second dish was the Seejet khao swè or 馬拉盞撈麵. To be frank, even though this dish is a unique dish of the Chinese Burmese population, it tasted exactly like what you think dried soy-sauced wheat noodles would taste like. Dried soy-sauce wheat noodles.

The third dish was the "Burmese chicken". However, the Burmese chicken was about as Burmese as curry you make at home. The only difference was that it had bread for dipping instead of rice. btw, most of the other dishes were also essentially Chinese.

On the whole, I definitely think that it is worth it for the intrepid to make the trip here, to try something unique in Hong Kong. It is a symbol that poor immigrant communities bring some of the most interesting restaurants. Other poor immigrant areas, like Tsim Sha Tsui (Indians and Nepalese), North Point (Fujianese, Chiu Chow) and Kowloon City (Thai). In this case while the restaurant workers were all Hong Kongers the boss is a Chinese-Burmese that recently emigrated from Macau. and did I mention that it was only 88 dollars for a meal that really does fill you up. Another bonus of this restaurant is that the golf range is only a 10 minute walk away.

鋪頭真係好細, 小正方形摺檯有2張, 靠牆的地方整了兩條長枱仔, 瘦身材的可以坐3個人。好耐都無飲過忌廉溝鮮奶, 我覺得近來玉泉忌廉变咗無咁甜(近日有飲過樽裝), 今次呢杯忌廉溝鮮奶是明顯甜度低了, 兩溝後反而顯得更加順滑魚湯粉喺呢度嚟講算大份量, 魚味唔夠重而且偏淡, 口味嘅野因人而異馬拉盞撈麵, 小食的份量, 甜甜地辣辣地, 令人食指大動,馬拉盞是店家自製的呢 緬甸雞即係洋葱黄薑炆雞, 呢碗喺細portion $10兩件雞, 炆得雞肉嫩滑, 而且用好多洋葱嚟炆所以汁底有很多洋葱甜味及蔬菜味葡式辣魚包並非用罐頭魚肉而是店家用大量鮮魚拆肉, 再加洋葱、香料等等, 所以食落微辣中帶點甜味麵包也異常鬆軟但面頭是微脆脆的咖喱牛腩是大portion $25, 牛腩切得細粒, 肥瘦相間, 咖喱汁很特別, 酸酸辣辣的, 咖哩牛腩有點酸應該是下了緬甸特有的酸葉,微微的酸和點點的辣帶出緬甸特有的咖哩味道。小食嘅價錢, 多吃也不肉痛

之前去澳門..無食到豬扒包(幾遺憾)返黎香港周圍食...結果都無間整得好上網見到呢間幾特別特登同男友去搵黎試試點知行搵左好耐都搵唔到...準備放棄之際就見到好彩搵左咁耐都值得既..因為好抵食同好好味雜誌都有介紹過雖然唔係澳門三盞燈傳過黎...但呢間又整得幾正宗魚湯粉.$16多食會健康.個湯幾清同鮮甜佢地完全無落味精連我一向討厭男友飲湯底..今次都比佢飲哂但我唔係咁鐘意青檸陣味原來可以唔落架辣魚包$11呢個幾好味..雖然話辣..但其實只係好微既辛辣度感覺上有d肉松..好特別豬扒包$16order即整..豬扒好鬆軟佢地話人手打..無落肉鬆粉好味就好味..不過都幾貴同大x活果d價錢差唔多馬拉盞撈面$13d馬拉盞自家制..勁好味顏色睇落好深..但味道岩岩好特別推介呢款食左好多野..但埋單計數都係每人$40左右抵!!!支持小本經營^^

是日大年初四,見陽光普照就出門一行。長沙灣那邊有不少店舖尚未開門,行下行下見這間滋味堡已開門營業;想起看澳門的旅遊書籍,有推介過三盞燈那裡的緬甸魚湯粉,所以今次就進內一試。店子地方不大,可能由於新年其他店舖未有營業,小小的店舖內坐了不少客人,所以有點擠迫。緬甸魚湯粉湯底有香料的味道,帶少許辣,十分惹味。初時有點酸味,相信是加了檸檬汁吊味的原故。湯內裡有一點魚蓉,另外有香蕉芯和油炸鬼等。滑滑的金邊粉配上惹味湯汁實是不錯,不過湯粉的份量不太大,肚餓的男士可能會不夠飽。第一次食緬甸魚湯粉感覺比想像中好,而且只是16元碗。除了魚湯粉外店子尚有馬拉盞撈麵和辣魚包等,如再來也是可以一試的。

湯底有香料的味道,帶少許辣,十分惹味。初時有點酸味,相信是加了檸檬汁吊味的原故。湯內裡有一點魚蓉,另外有香蕉芯和油炸鬼等。滑滑的金邊粉配上惹味湯汁實是不錯,不過湯粉的份量不太大,肚餓的男士可能會不夠飽。

第一次食緬甸魚湯粉感覺比想像中好,而且只是16元碗。除了魚湯粉外店子尚有馬拉盞撈麵和辣魚包等,如再來也是可以一試的。

個香脆辣魚包即叫即做, 好脆口好好味, 價錢又平! 不過要食得辣先得呀.... 如果佢有分小辣同大辣就最好啦! 不過間鋪個位置唔係好覺眼, 都係做街坊生意, 環境幾清潔, 個老闆好NICE, 如果可以衝出屋村, 應該會好好賣!

我是澳門人當然在香港的時間遠多於澳門但起碼對緬甸菜絕對不陌生幸好有openrice,先得知上班附近有一間緬甸小食最可惜快將調職,否則會經常幫襯這間鋪頭的價錢並沒有因獨家而開天殺價然而最可惜的是,我最愛的榔汁雞麵並沒有叫了個魚包及馬拉盞撈面外賣,等唔算耐回到office開餐陣香味大到.......食落又唔錯,12蚊(外賣加一蚊)抵食只係馬拉盞其實我都識整,所以下次都係叫番魚湯粉另外魚包包唔錯,只係d魚跟澳門仲有一段水平但10蚊一個算很好我覺得這店最好的是價錢,始終係屬於平價餐而且香港而言算是很特別的這裡絕對是推介
