Finally can go watching Transformer! I went to gym at IFC to have a nice workout, then dinner before movie, what a perfect plan for Sat afternoon.Ran out a bit late after gym, worked seriously this time, and had only an hour before movie. Haven't tried Betty's Kitchen yet, and wanna had a quick bite there. As it's still early, sitting at the sofa side and still can enjoy the day view of Kowloon side. Interiors are very comfortable and spacious. Menu is simple, Appetizers, Mains, Steak, Desserts

As it's still early, sitting at the sofa side and still can enjoy the day view of Kowloon side. Interiors are very comfortable and spacious. Menu is simple, Appetizers, Mains, Steak, Desserts, Drinks list. Some dishes sound quite special, not commonly found in other Western restaurants,

As I had to be quick and just finished gym, I found the best option there, crab meat salad as appetizer and asparagus with black rice as main course.

Crab meat baked with cheese is tastety, it's a warm appetizer with green salad on side.

The asparagus with black rice, first of all, it's healthy. However, the portion is way too small than I expect. I never expect something huge but it's indeed a "diet" portion, an expensive one.

The waiter recommends a cocktail created by their boss, champagne mixed with Cognac, it's not bad but honestly I prefer just champagne.

Overall service and atmosphere are nice and pleasant, however, portion better be a little bit bigger. Honestly, I bought hot dog at the cinema as I felt hungry after this meal.

復刻的室內設計,很"家庭"的感覺
據PR所介紹,店的設計是由著名設計師Andre Fu擔大旗
設計理念旨在呈現文藝復興的形象
羅勒牆作裝飾,加上雲石和木材,更顯濃厚鄉土風情和樸實的感覺
原以為是一個formal dinner,頓時變得很causal

其中門口的兩列生果
起初只以為是點綴之物,原來廚師都會就地取材,真是既美觀又實用
一邊行一邊看到維港美景,令人忘掉工作的煩擾
行到最入便是我們是晚聚會的地方
兩張長方形的木檯,很warm很有house warming 的感覺
PR所說,主菜的碟也是特別訂製,款式獨特,用來盛載大份的食物

天氣熱,先點了杯西瓜汁解解渴
有食友點了咖啡,據PR所說,這裡的咖啡是self brand的
因此特別珍貴,食友是咖啡專家,都讚不絕口

吃下去原來烘得外脆內軟,配上香軟的牛油,醒胃至極

Compressed watermelon salad
西瓜沙律

西瓜用上來自菲律賓
不要小覷眼前一件普通的西瓜,原來廚師花上不少功夫
西瓜經過壓縮等特別程序去處理,抽了空氣,令汁更相對更多更豐富
一吃下,果汁鎖在西瓜內
西瓜也變得分外清甜爽口,輕輕咬一口後西瓜汁便已澎湃湧出
效果特別獨特,一試難忘
用簡單的食材,都可以造出鬼斧神工,值得一讚~
Kintoa ham plate
巴斯克火腿

Ham大約重90g,可以選擇配以蕃茄碎餅一起吃
我就比較喜歡分開吃,因為Ham本身味道頗重,遮蓋了蕃茄鮮味
和多數香港人吃的Parma Ham不同
火腿來自巴斯克高原地區
肉色較深,油花均勻而味濃厚
相比起咸而乾身的Parma Ham,味道更勝一籌
一口蕃茄,一口火腿,味道分明

番茄沙律配芝士

來自法國的原始蕃茄,就是沒有經過基因改造,因此每個都有不同的形態和其獨特的味道
今天還是頭一回看到那麼多種類的蕃茄,而且味道和顏色各異-甜酸濃淡
每種都吃得到既新鮮又獨特的味道
愛吃蕃茄的朋友千萬不要錯過!
更加不可錯過的是每星期新鮮空運到港的水牛城芝士
從未吃過那麼滑和有質感的芝士,奶味不太濃

炸豬腩肉配扁豆

來自法國小鎮Pierre Oteiza自家養的豬腩肉
外皮烤得香脆,脂肪分布均勻,入口肉質鬆化而脂肪即溶,那份快感實在難得
是西方的東坡肉,令人懷念
可以左以附上的葡萄芥末,但我們還是較喜愛原汁原味
小扁豆味道亦不錯,味濃而每粒分明,也值一試

檸檬牛油烤龍脷

未吃過那麼貴價的龍脷
先灑上鮮檸檬汁才開始吃,用上原條龍利已經令人眼前一亮
魚肉沒有想像的鮮嫰,肉質雖富魚鮮香味,但較為實
相比起拌龍脷的那碗平凡不過的薯蓉,有點比下去
薯蓉幼滑而極富香薯味
還可感到細小的薯仔粒在口內蕩漾

釀魷魚配西班牙香腸黑米飯

魷魚筒釀入西班牙肉腸和紅椒
味道外淡而內濃,又是一個味覺的享受
而且魷魚煮得剛好,彈牙爽口
托底的黑米飯,很少見
輕輕試了一口,很有紫米的質感
伴上龍蝦汁,很香口
不過還是上層的魷魚筒較吸引我們

慢烤羊肩燴意大利飯

是全日最精彩的主菜
羊肩經過慢烤,肉質變得更軟稔
微微帶著羊羶味,但並不濃(只少我也可以接受)
羊肉嫩滑,雖份量頗多,但在老公仔承諾包底的情況下
最後當然只剩下骨
看得靚女PR很驚訝
至於那Rissoto則用上特別的Wheatberry
多了一分像麥皮的香味,但也較硬
肉軟稔而飯呈硬,又是一個口感上的對比

難得這裡有和朱古力合而為一,哪有不選的理由嗎?
PR所言非虛,BK的Bailey酒味很濃,足以將朱古力的味道掩蓋
至於我喝的純朱古力配棉花糖,香濃有口感,美極!

Creme brulee
焦糖燉蛋

送來時,大家不約而同地覺得似家中的蒸蛋,是"法式蒸水蛋"
比一般吃到的Creme brulee不同,這裡用了較淺的大碟
結果是焦糖更多,吃到每一口都有薄薄的焦糖附著
底層的呍呢嗱籽,更添香草味
店主的心思沒有白費,效果特出,做到每一口都吃到陣陣的焦糖味道,再配上滑溜的燉蛋,滋味無窮
我倆說必定會再來吃這個Creme brulee
有外賣的話就更好了!

Chocolate fondant
朱古力軟心蛋糕

蛋糕做得香濃鬆軟,朱古力味能夠從內到外滲透出來
我卻對拌碟的呍呢嗱雪糕最有興趣,見到粒粒的呍呢嗱籽在雪糕內,似movenpick的一樣,水準一定高
不出所料,店子自製的雪糕比市面著名品牌更出色,呍呢嗱味道既自然又香濃

臨場再加雪糕三球,我們沒有再試,反而吃了另外的茘枝雪芭
茘枝味濃,即將溶化,像在喝鮮濃冰凍茘枝汁

係上次食simplife已經發現左呢到同埋都想黎試試。星期日,一起身已經二點幾,原先想去isloa食,行過見到呢到有brunch,真係冇記性唔記得左呢到,真係而家無論大小野咩都要寫底,唔係咩都唔記得。Brunch Menu 除左大路d 既all day breakfast,都有好多份量勁抽既野食,好似burger同意粉。個menu睇兩睇,個侍應已經走埋黎order,本人遲鈍同經常性選擇困難,真係要俾多少少時間我。當然我都係通常會叫左野飲先,大家都好做麻。不過我個人真係好唔鍾意sparkling water,都真係要睇睇menu飲乜,起身冇耐,要點非酒精,Flat White & Jucie,Flat white咖啡味濃厚,奶泡也很綿細,唔係咖啡控,不過這裡奶同啡都來得平均,我收貨架啦。Juice見門口咁多生果都應該冇咩閃失,供應的當然唔係來貨產物,算係幾豐富的果汁。是日就要左好耐無食過既fish and chips。食呢樣野真係要揀地方,好多bar&restaurant都有,不過雪味強勁,好多時都唔會order,是日真係好想食,又叫黎試下。炸魚唔洗太多幻想都睇得出係魚狀,賣相很不錯。炸

是日就要左好耐無食過既fish and chips。食呢樣野真係要揀地方,好多bar&restaurant都有,不過雪味強勁,好多時都唔會order,是日真係好想食,又叫黎試下。炸魚唔洗太多幻想都睇得出係魚狀,賣相很不錯。炸魚既皮薄身,唔油,魚肉幾嫰滑,薯條較為硬身不過都仲係幾crispy,份量都唔少,整份野都係對辦。當然有唔少醬,果d茄汁,沙律醬都係循例,不過果個好似牙膏味既豆醬真係好耐未食過,都幾好食。

飲品餐牌上的選擇很多,點選以餐廳名字命名的Bettys on the Rock,質素總會有保證。賣相有點像椰子味的奶昔,內裡實則是以伏特加,日本清酒為主,再配荔枝汁,青檸汁,椰子汁及熱情果。酒味不濃烈但充滿果香,很易入喉,是一款不錯的餐前雞尾酒。

頭盤先上的是 Kintoa Ham Plate(巴斯克火腿-$98),這種豬來自西班牙與法國交界的巴斯克高原地區,肉味甜香,油花均匀密佈,薄薄的一片送到口裡,其豐郁濃厚的肉味頓時湧出來,非常好吃。伴上的蕃茄脆多士雖然香脆,蕃茄粒亦多汁鮮甜,但兩者一起總覺貌合神離,相比之下略嫌失色。或者,Kintoa Ham太過精彩絕倫,大家都不期然將目光投放到那邊,如果喝杯紅酒伴吃,絕對是樂事。

下一份前菜是Compressed Watermelon Salad(西瓜沙律-$88),來自菲律賓的西瓜肉厚多汁,廚師先將西瓜切成長方條狀,然後放入真空袋將所有空氣抽出來,這個壓縮處理(Compressed)方式跟脫水處理(Dehydrated)不同,肉質經壓縮處理後,西瓜肉內壁的空氣被抽走,肉質變得比一般的更結實爽口,汁液亦得以保存。配上無花果及芝士片伴吃,感覺清新可口,是當晚一個亮麗又清怡的前菜。

兩份前菜已令我如痴如醉,原來還有一個Heirloom Tomato Salad with Burrata and Pesto(復古蕃茄沙律配芝士-$158)好戲在後頭。復古蕃茄就是指天然成長,沒有經過基因改造的品種,很有野性原始的感覺。而這晚的五色復古蕃茄全部法國直送,外型及味道亦略有差異,入口感覺頗有趣,但沙律的真正主角,是中間的那個白色的Burrata芝士。
新鮮的Burrata口感是很澎湃的~

Burrata芝士可算是Mozzarella的變奏版,外層是不折不扣的Mozzarella,而內裡是把Mozzarella混合忌廉製作而成,最特別的是內層尤如溏心蛋的幼滑質感,如果可以新鮮即食的話,那種口感是很澎湃的。多年前,在中環DiVino吃過一個很美味的Burrata,中間豐盈的忌廉感覺很濕潤,很好吃,愛上的就是這種感覺。但在Bettys的這一次的體驗,卻有一點失望,我想說的,希望女讀者不要見怪,但Burrata真的有如女人肌膚一樣,愈老會變得愈乾涸,而保濕的日子約有三天,壽命很短。我到來那天是星期一,詢問負責人後得悉這裡的Burrata會在星期二及四返貨,所以我那天吃到的絕對不是最好的貨色。當然,問題不在店方身上,只是我們Timing上的錯愛。

前菜後,來個微暖的湯是一個很體貼的安排。這晚的是Pea Soup with Brittany Lobster à la française(青豆龍蝦煙肉湯-$188),這個青豆湯質感不算濃稠,口感柔滑之餘帶點微辣,感覺不俗。還有那大大的法國藍龍蝦肉,鮮味十足,令這份青豆湯提升到一個不錯的質素,但價錢方面,似乎略為進取一點...
兩份突然加插的主菜都是令人驚喜的...

在主菜到來前,先試食友K另外點選的其他幾款主菜。首先試的是Basque Pierre Oteiza Pork Belly,du Puy Lentils,Raisin Mustard(炸豬腩肉配扁豆,葡萄芥末-$198),來自法國Pierre Oteiza的豬腩肉,烤得外皮很香,皮肉間的脂肪層吃下去亦不覺油膩,那入口即溶的感覺,更是令人印象深刻的。最驚喜的,不只是那些小扁豆,而是罕有的葡萄芥末,沒有一般芥末的鮮明強烈,多一份葡萄酒香的酸甜感覺,妙絕!這道菜,是令人回味的。

另一度點選的是Axoa Cannnelloni with Chargrilled Carabineros Wild Red Prawns, Sweetbreads (炭燒西班牙大蝦配意大利卷粉及牛核-$368)。炭燒蝦肉火喉控制得很好,不會燒得太乾之餘亦能保存到大蝦的鮮味,值得一讚。而碟上的小牛核是一種很有趣的食材,我還是第一次吃到。牛核,是小牛的喉核位置,入口感覺有點軟腍,質感跟骨髓有點相像,入口帶點羶香,但沒有令人討厭的異味,個人感覺有點像吃鵝肝一樣,不錯的。題外話,在我記憶所及的西班牙大蝦,蝦的顏色及頭部外型也跟這次有點出入,而且味道較這個爽實鮮甜很多倍,雖然這個疑問在執筆時仍然存在,但我肯定的是,這隻蝦真的燒得很出色,跟牛核的這個組合,在口感方面更是絕配,值得一試。這兩道突而其來點選的主菜,質素比我預期的還要高,對Bettys的印象分添加不少。

緊接其後的是店方為我們安排的幾道主菜,先來的是Slow Roasted Lamb Pyrenees with d'Ebly Risotto (慢烤羊肩配燴意大利飯-$798),是足夠三位享用的份量。小羊的肉慢煮後依然鬆軟嫩滑,入口散發著濃濃的溫柔滋味,如果不愛羶但又愛吃嫩羊肉的朋友,對這道菜應該會讚不絕口,但換上是愛吃慣草羊的老饗,這種味道或會覺得搔不到癢處。意大利飯跟其他食店吃到的不一樣,用上Wheatberry這種穀物代替飯粒,但煮法與一般Risotto大同小異,入口多一分麥香及嚼勁,有點像小朋友吃的意大利麵粒,非常討好。

或者店方以為我們會嫌Risotto米氣不足,所以再下一城來一個Stuffed calamari with chorizo Benere black rice and lobster sauce (釀魷魚配西班牙香腸黑米飯-$188)。魷魚筒躺在黑米飯上,賣相早已極為誘人,而每隻爽彈鮮味的魷魚筒裡,釀入味道濃郁的西班牙香腸及清新的法國青紅椒,單看這個就知是敗不了組合。而黑米飯混上龍蝦汁,軟糯口感中帶鮮味,讓我們吃得滿足,不消一會這份calamari很快便掃光了。

最後的一份主菜是Dover Sole Menuiere (檸檬牛油烤龍脷-$468),我只淺嚐一口不作詳細評論,但入口感覺到的是肉質結實彈實,而其他食友們的反應是很正面的。對不吃愛魚的我,其他的精選配菜更合我心意,尤其是那個滑而不膩的薯蓉,在場無人不讚,甚至比起主角烤龍脷更受歡迎...

吃過豐富的主菜,甜品環節是大家引頸以待的。其中Black Forest Cake(黑森林蛋糕-$98)是期間限定,在午市Brunch才供應的甜點。蛋糕以法國Weiss70%朱古力製造而成,中間夾雜著用酒浸沫過的櫻桃,整體冧酒味不算太濃烈,讓愛甜的女士們更易入口。Chocolate fondant(巧克力軟心蛋糕-$98)質素平穩,蛋糕鬆軟及大家最關心朱古力漿濃度也是合乎水準的,但若論驚喜度反而不及伴碟的那球自家製雪糕,除非你是心太軟的狂熱份子,否則到來選點Selection of Seasonal Ice-cream & Sorbets或者更令你雀躍興奮。

最後的一款甜品Crème brûlée(焦糖燉蛋-$98)上場時,為整晚豐富的晚宴製造了高潮。這份燉蛋以巨型的碟盛載,份量當然亦不少。面層的焦糖燒得很香脆,內裡的燉蛋質感也很細滑,而且底層有大量雲尼拿籽,散發出陣陣香草甜香,非常好吃。伴碟的還有西柚雜果及馬德蓮貝殼蛋糕,後者滲著淡淡的蜂蜜味及檸檬清香,是意料之外的驚喜。說起來,這Crème brûlée起老佛爺的那個名物還要精彩,以這個價錢來說,腦海中亦暫時想不到那裡的焦糖燉蛋更好...

吃過盛宴,本想以一杯香濃咖啡作結。看到餐牌上的Valrhona Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows($48),二話不說就決定要上這個。這杯朱古力熱飲不算太濃郁,苦澀間中帶甘香,兩者之間取得完美平衡,令這夜的結局很完美。

最後,多謝Bettys Kitschen店方及公關Janice及Vica的細心招待,讓我們一眾食友可以聚首分享食的體驗,無言感激!

時間尚早,先點杯飲品,邊飲邊傾邊等候大家進場。按PR推介來一杯Cappuccino,咖啡是有優美的拉花,喝下也真的香濃醇厚,即使不用加糖亦可以,果然不錯。同埋,要一讚呢度既PR,對餐廳的資料、食材來源、味道等都瞭如指掌,相當專業。

人差不多到齊,晚餐亦正式開始。以熱辣鬆脆的麵包及鮮香的牛油打頭陣,真是滋味。幸好我也醒目,只淺嚐了半個,否則以我細小的食量,吃完麵包已經可以回家了。

頭盤以法國的巴斯克火腿伴以意大利蕃茄脆多士,每檯都是雙份上,法國的優質靚豬,油份充足,軟熟可口,味帶咸香,再配以清甜香脆的蕃茄多士,是很精彩的頭盤。

另一款頭盤為西瓜沙律,始終西餐的賣相都是漂亮。西瓜是經過抽真空等的特別程序去處理過,令質感更爽,又保留一定的水份,味道清甜。單是西瓜已很出色,跟濃香的芝士片又會是另一番滋味。當然,無花果也是新鮮甜美的。

之後,是每人一客的青豆龍蝦煙肉湯。個人本身不太喜歡青青綠綠的湯,但呢度又做得幾好,沒有杰杰的,感覺輕柔,喝時味道也清純,配以微微的辣,我差不多全碗喝清。至於湯裡頭的龍蝦肉,是真正的啖啖肉,令人滿足。

以上的三味均是出色,但真正的亮點,絕對是接下來的蕃茄沙律配芝士。從法國入口的蕃茄,隻隻均是不同顏色,味道和質感也各有性格,而放在中間的優質水牛芝士,香軟幼滑,水準很高。

收起頭盤的碟子,主菜菜色陸續送上。頭兩味均不在是晚餐牌預設的,而是食友臨場為大家爭取的美食。炸豬腩肉、扁豆配葡萄芥末,據說,店方用上跟巴斯克火腿同祖宗的豬,以慢煮方式炮製。肥瘦有致的豬腩,質感鬆化,入口溶化,美味!沾上帶有微甜的葡萄芥末,又是一個驚喜位。

另一款由食友爭取的是炭燒西班牙大蝦.意大利粉卷.牛核,大蝦的體型真的巨大,彈牙爽口的質感也似乎是必然的了,而且經炭燒過,香口非常。至於牛核,有說是牛的喉嚨,孤陋寡聞的我是第一次吃,但感覺未如想像中理想。

好,真正到了預設的主菜。釀魷魚配西班牙香腸黑米飯,魷魚的口感尚算爽彈,釀入了味濃的西班牙腸,都是可以。不過小弟在別處吃過更好的。反而,墊底的黑米飯幾特別,我更為欣賞。

今晚的魚是烤龍脷,魚肉是新鮮的,也烤得香口,伴以檸檬汁和牛油去吃,未嚐不可。而伴這魚的,有香草薯蓉,很鮮很軟滑,搶去了主角的風頭。

慢烤羊肩配燴意大利飯,以名牌子的煲子盛著,店方的資料是2-3人份量。然而,這個巨型的羊肩,我相信即使3位是很大食的人,也未必能夠征服。羊肩雖然超大隻,但經慢煮方式去做,肉質依然嫩滑,吃一件連皮帶肉夾肥的部份,無得投訴。至於配角的意大利飯,有別於在市面上一般餐廳吃到的,口感寧舍豐腴,出得相當出色。

主菜就此完結,接下來就是甜魔的主菜,全是雙份上。Creme Brulee,有如面盆的寬 (當然不會很深),面頭的焦糖燒不錯,賣相加分,吃落也是脆卜卜的,如果燉蛋可以再滑溜一點,甜魔們會更滿意。反而配料的貝殼蛋糕,鬆軟之餘不失應有彈性,很久沒吃過這款蛋糕了。

還有的是黑森林蛋糕,第一感覺是酒味很重,之後就是甜美的櫻桃,以及濃郁的朱古力片。不能說不好吃,只是酒味確實稍稍多了一點,個人並不太喜歡。

不可或缺的,自然是心太軟。把熱暖香脆的外皮切開,朱古力漿緩緩流出,再吃下,朱古力的味道十分濃郁,伴以優質的雪糕,大家都滿意了。

甜魔的實力深不可測,吃完三款共六客的甜品後,仍然意猶未盡,再追加一份雪糕及正葩。雪糕三球,分別是朱古力、咖啡及雲尼拿口味,再配一球荔枝雪葩。幾款雪糕都是質感幼滑,濃郁可口;荔枝雪葩感覺亦很清新,是這晚最美好的終結。

跟舊朋友食飯固之然開心,是晚很高興也認識到很友善的新食友 (其實並不是新,在OR的食評數量有2千幾個,遠比我資深,只是首次見面而已),當然還有很專業又友善的PR。

是夜認識了不少志同道合的愛吃朋友, 有些早在互聯網上曾經對話, 第一次能親身接觸, 充滿愉快的感覺. 我們共分兩檯就坐, 各人先點選飲料, 閱讀過餐牌後, 選擇了有代表性的 Bettys on the rock, 外型有點像奶昔的樣子, 但裡面是混合了 Vodka, sake, lychee juice, lime, coconut 和 passion fruit, 這樣的陣容, 酒的烈度應該蠻厲害吧, 但實際是剛剛相反, 祇能嚐到一點點酒味, 十分易入口的 cocktail, 不太愛酒的朋友也可以一試.

食物環節終於開動了, 先上是 Kintoa Ham Plate (巴斯克火腿), 肉味濃郁的法國火腿, 油脂分佈均勻, 不加其他配搭淨吃, 更能嚐到藏於肉內的鮮味; 若喜歡加點變化, 可以和同上的意大利蕃茄脆多士一同享用, 一剛一柔的味道, 能為舌頭帶來多層次的享受.

前菜當然不止於此, 之後是 Compressed Watermelon Salad (西瓜沙律), 經過特別壓縮處理, 原意是把水份儘量排出, 把屬於西瓜的甜味突顯出來, 但是夜嚐到的, 雖然已經比新鮮切開的西瓜少了汁液, 但水份依然不少... 當然味道是鮮甜的, 配合置頂的無花果, 旁邊的芝士, 雜果同吃, 清新可口的味道!

再來是 Heirloom Tomato Salad with Burrata with Pesto (蕃茄沙律配芝士), Heirloom Tomato 是從來沒有改變過基因的蕃茄, 今天嚐到的味道和一百年前嚐到的味道, 理論上是相同的; 蕃茄有幾款不同顏色, 每款都試吃了一小口, 味道清甜, 口感清爽, 不同顏色的味道似乎差異不大; Burrata 芝士口感軟滑, 味道濃郁, 但唯獨未能保持外面固體, 裡面流心的最佳狀態, 知道此款芝士是空運抵達, 很難保存, 除非是每天入貨, 否則很容易便錯過了最佳品嚐時間, 或者下一次問清楚進貨日, 再來享受最佳狀態的 Burrata.

前菜作結是 Pea Soup with Brittany Lobster a la francaise (青豆.龍蝦.煙肉湯), 豆味極濃的湯頭, 配合浮面的龍蝦油脂, 加上咸香的煙肉, 每喝一口湯, 都是極致享受; 龍蝦肉質彈牙, 唯獨鮮味稍遜, 可能是湯的味道太濃郁了, 建議可先吃掉龍蝦肉, 再品嚐靚湯.

來到主菜時間, 先品嚐額外點選的 Basque Pierre Oteiza Pork Belly, du Puy Lentils, Raisin Mustard (炸豬腩肉.扁豆.葡萄芥末), 法國豬腩肉外皮炸得香脆, 內裡肉質鬆軟無比, 差點便能溶化於口裡, 好味指數滿瀉; 猜不到的是平常不會關注的扁豆, 原來和這款豬腩肉十分搭配, 無論口感和味道, 都有天衣無縫的感覺, 再加上坊間少有提供的葡萄芥末, 會是一道讓人愛不釋手的菜式, 推介之選!

第二度是原來餐單有的 Stuffed Calamari with Chorize Benere Black Rice and Lobster Sauce (釀魷魚配西班牙香腸黑米飯), 爽甜的魷魚筒裡面釀入切碎了的西班牙香腸, 另外還有甘荀粒, 一點點菜粒, 原來肉味極濃郁的香腸遇上清爽十足的甘荀和蔬菜, 剛好中和了味道, 配合鮮甜爽口的魷魚, 產生了讓人吃不停口的魔力; 還有舖設於底層的黑米, 口感軟軟糯糯, 和爽口的魷魚筒, 產生了精彩的化學作用, 會愛上的料理!

之後又是額外點選的 Axoa Cannnelloni with Chargrilled Carabineros Wild Red Prawns, Sweetbreads (炭燒西班牙大蝦.意大利卷粉.牛核), 先試吃蝦肉, 肉質彈牙, 火喉控制得宜, 唯獨是鮮甜味的環節, 出現了一點點疑問... 之前在其他地方品嚐過的西班牙大蝦的鮮甜度比這個鮮甜多於一倍, 有一點失望... 意大利卷粉味道合格; Sweetbreads 是牛內臟的一種, 位於乳牛近喉嚨的位置, 試吃一小片, 爽甜的口感和味道.

再下來是份量足夠四人享用的 Slow Roasted Lamb Pyrenees with d'Ebly Risotto (慢烤羊肩配燴意大利飯), 假如是期待濃郁羊騷味的朋友, 可能會有點失望, 慢烤羊肉質的鬆軟度是無可挑剔了, 但羊肉味真的稍為失色, 可能本身是子羊的關係, 羊騷味不會很重, 這個祇吃了數口... 意大利飯是分開上的, 雖然取名意大利飯, 但實際不是選用意大利米, 祇是用了Risotto 的烹調手法, 材料應該是一種名為 Wheatberry 的縠物, 口感更近似 Pasta 類別, 蠻喜歡的味道.

另外還有幾款精選配菜, 當中最受食友們一致讚賞的, 是賣相平凡的薯蓉, 這個薯蓉比剛才伴魚吃的, 更要滑很多, 香很多, 不知下了多少件牛油, 才能達到如斯效果, 好吃和健康, 往往不能共存...

最後是甜品和餐茶時間, Chocolate Fondant (巧克力軟心蛋糕), 巧克力味道自然濃郁, 沒有吃到後期添加的味道, 裡面流心亦見精彩, 愛好此道甜點的朋友, 相信不會失望.

Black Forest Cake (黑森林蛋糕), 鬆軟的餅身, 帶著濃郁的酒味, 席間有些食友嫌過濃, 有些卻嫌不夠, 可見口味人人不同; 本人是歸類於酒味稍稍過濃的組別, 但整體味道不俗.

Creme Brulee (焦糖燉蛋), 三度甜品中最欣賞是這款了, 廚師毫不吝惜地混入大量雲尼拿籽, 製作出超香甜的味道; 面層焦糖的香脆度是剛剛好, 口感亦算幼滑, 會讓人發狂的甜點; 另跟上有一小盅甜雜果, 味道清新, 還有幾件 Madeleine (貝殼蛋糕), 這個味道又是意外的精彩, 唯一可惜是祇有三, 兩件, 每人祇能淺嚐一小片...

最後各人點了自己喜歡的餐飲, 喝了食友一小口 Valrhona Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows (熱巧克力), 不會像 Vero 般的超濃郁味道, 但仍算甜美幼滑, 加入附上的小棉花糖, 同時滿足了視覺和味覺的享受.

自己點的是 Earl Grey Tea (格雷伯爵茶), 優質的靚茶葉, 每一口都茶香四溢, 濃郁的茶質, 正好滋潤一下吃得過飽的腸胃.

I went to Betty's several times, i am confident the man behind Hakkasan will get it RIGHT!!!!!!ALL new concepts take time! I LOVE the Cod with Risotto The Burata is Amazingly God they finally Got fries Right they were so so before....The Penne with Cheese and Truffles side dish is excellent!!!!The Burgers are now Much better and I would call the food Very Comfort food.....Hope they open for Breakfast soon as ifc mall lacks a breakfast place.....the Bread is so so BUT we hard a new baker is comin

Guava Collins($68)好了,那是一款由Guava juice, kaffir lime leaf, coconut, lime組成的果汁,口味相當清新,是炎夏的消暑之選。
 
首先送上是極度鬆脆可口的巨大麵包,趁熱食滋味一流;然後第一個頭盤也上檯了--
Kintoa Ham Plate 巴斯克火腿($98),雙份上,是由優質得獎法國豬所製,油花分佈平均,咸味自然,肉味鮮濃,淨食也不會太膩;再拌以意大利蕃茄脆多士享用,一濃郁一清新,配搭妙絕!

多款頭盤均令人滿意,但講到最驚艷,一定是這壓軸一味--
Heirloom Tomato Salad with Burrata with Pesto 蕃茄沙律配芝士($158),不同色彩的蕃茄由法國來貨,全部都很清爽怡人,配上鮮香軟滑、美味不凡的意大利水牛芝士,令人徹底的折服,真的很美味啊~~~

Axoa Cannnelloni with Chargrilled Carabineros Wild Red Prawns, Sweetbreads 炭燒西班牙大蝦.意大利卷粉.牛核($368)。這是香得不得了的一道菜,大蝦極其鮮爽,其他配料也相當可口,令人滿意。

Basque Pierre Oteiza Pork Belly, du Puy Lentils, Raisin Mustard 炸豬腩肉.扁豆.葡萄芥末($198),這豬腩與巴斯克火腿來自同一款得獎豬,肉質自然又是非常上乘;加上慢煮至入口即融的曼妙程度,效果實在是超美味! 又,這晚方覺扁豆與豬腩原來超夾,吃時再點些口感特別、甜味濃重的葡萄芥末,亦為味蕾帶來更大驚喜!

Slow Roasted Lamb Pyrenees with d'Ebly Risotto 慢烤羊肩配燴意大利飯($798)。羊肩以超大的別致灰色Le Creuset盛起,慢煮的結果是肉質細嫩軟稔,同時保留羊肉的騷香動人;加之我吃的是連皮帶少些脂膏的部位,脂香滿瀉,又是十級美味! 羊肩還附一兜意大利飯同上,那飯長得份外飽滿,口感也特別豐腴,吃來有點似中式的薏米,特別得來也幾好吃的!

Dover Sole Menuiere 檸檬牛油烤龍脷($468),又是雙份上。大大條的龍脷很新鮮,肉質結實富彈性,配以檸檬牛油汁清新又滋味;不過相比之下,其實我更愛拌龍脷同上的魚蓉薯蓉,那真是鮮美好吃不得了,吃到我停不了口呢!

同時,當晚餐廳提供的精選配菜,其實也是一樣的高水準,並以多個淺色系Le Creuset盛起,悅人眼目。當中,個人最欣賞既香又軟又滑的薯蓉,後來獨個也吞掉兩盅!
 
由於我檯只得七人,吃完以上主菜,大家都很飽了,展開場甜品戰事前,各人紛紛點了不同的飲品來解滯。要解滯,正常來講應該選擇茶類才對;然而對於不正常的甜魔一族(即是我!!),卻又不自覺的選了添滯的熱朱力!
店內的熱朱古力有兩款,一款是帶酒味的
Valrhona Hot Chocolate with Bailey's($98),輕嚐了食友的一小口,酒味果真頗濃烈呢;我的選擇則是
Valrhona Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows($48),浸泡滿棉花糖的熱朱古力,味道濃郁又甜美,很討人喜歡!

正式開始甜品環節,甜品全部雙份上,首先是的
Creme Brulee 焦糖燉蛋($98)。燉蛋實在是超巨型,面層的焦糖也燒得很美,不過滑度還可以進步;反而我很喜歡它的配料,分別是以Le Creuset迷你盅盛載的清新雜果,以及鬆軟可口的貝殼蛋糕,尤後後者熱食滋味一流!
  
第二款甜品
Black Forest Cake 黑森林蛋糕($98),由於酒味較濃,我又是只可淺嚐,印象最深是蛋糕中芯的甜美多汁的櫻桃。不要緊,第三款甜品就是我最愛的
Chocolate Fondant 巧克力軟心蛋糕($98),雖然個子不大,但勝在朱古力味極其濃郁,流心度也理想,拌上香甜雪糕實在很美味,我不客氣吞掉許多呢!

Selection of Seasonal Ice-cream & Sorbets($98),選了朱古力、雲尼拿、咖啡雪糕,還有青檸雪葩。要讚BETTYS Kitschen自家製的雪糕全都很香滑美味,當中又以咖啡味最為出色,香濃馥郁,迷人極了!

Do not ever go... Breakfast should not hard to make - yet Betty's Kitchen managed to disappoint with every bite. The mushrooms were oily.The sausage was undercooked, bland and hard. Breakfast should not hard to make - yet Betty's Kitchen managed to disappoint with every bite.

Okay to be fair - they had a few good things. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, but having one good thing out of an entire breakfast plate is a fail in my book.

They also had excellent service. The staff must have overheard our aggressive complaining amongst ourselves and the manager promptly walked over to ask us how the food was.

Overall it was good service at a pretty restaurant but with terrible food.

Unless you're on a diet and you need a reason not to finish your food, don't go.

Working at IFC, have walked past Bettys several times and always big queue to go in at lunchtime. But made lunch reservation last Friday and was able to try.Overall the decoration is gorgeous, very nice place to relax and have lovely view of the harbor. In terms of the food, their lunch menu is pretty big and we were stuck for choice. I went for the "Bettys Classic Burger" and my colleague the stuffed calamari with black rice, which was recommended by the waitress. It isn't inexpensive at around $250 for a main, so definitely not somewhere I can go everyday!! But the burger was really juicy, and the calamari was really inventive, my friend loved the combination, nice to see something new.

Service was ok, we did have to wait a bit for our food but I guess it was the lunchtime rush. Finished with a few coffees from their huge list!! Not sure I am expert enough to appreciate, I just went for a cappuccino!

Maybe a good place to bring clients when the company is paying

Initially, everything was great. The service was wonderful and the drinks (although expensive for a plain apple juice, $68) were OK. The restaurant only had a handful of tables, so getting the food out as slow as they did was very poor. In fact, I overheard one gentleman complain that he had to wait 25 minutes for extra toast to go with his omelette. He told the manager, that although the place looked lovely, they had to have better service and cut the waiting time. I couldn't agree more.

I had ordered the full English Breakfast and my husband, the croque monsieur and a side of fries. I told the waitress that I didnt eat black pudding, so she kindly said she would give me extra bacon. For my eggs, I told her I wanted them poached. When the food finally arrived, the full English was the smallest and most expensive, at $189, i had ever seen. That is not really my complaint. What is my complaint, is that the poached eggs were definitely not poached, but deshelled and boiled! I told the waitress and she insisted they were poached. The food was luke warm and there was no 'extra' bacon. As for my husband, the croque monsieur was pretty average and the fries were warm but burnt to a crisp!

A highly disappointing, overpriced, pretentious, poorly cooked meal.

NEVER go there unless you want to pay lots of money wasting your time waiting for awful food!

I was surprised to find it rather stiff and formal and not at all what I was expecting. Is the restaurant supposed to be Kitsch or French or Scottish (female wait staff wore Tartan looking skirts)?

Betty's Kitschen as expected, is suffering from new restaurant teething problems. Food was utterly slow to arrive and we were so starving we had to request for bread which I think was supposed to be given out as standard as with any restaurant of this calibre but they had forgotten. This led to every other table around us requesting for bread also - obviously a lot of hungry diners!

Our food:
Starters:
Mackerel, which was very tasty.

Mains:
Sole Meuniere - great to find a whole fish served on the bone. Sauce could have been better with more butter and with lemon in the sauce and not on the side.
Prawn and Cannelloni - Cannelloni was super dry like it had been sat under the heated lamp for a while before being brought out but the Prawn was superby done. Cooked so that it was warm and the texture was still Sashimi like. The head of the Prawn was the tastiest part, very well executed, just a shame there was only one!

Dessert:
Chocolate Fondant - pretty average as all of their desserts seemed to be.

Coffee was great, very rich and bold and fragrant, shame it came just a tad warmer than lukewarm.

The wait staff are friendly and very quick to respond when you need something (except for the bill which we asked for 3 times!), shame the same can't be said about the speed of the food.

In summary, great food and friendly staff. Will be much better in a few months time once they have the hang of things.
