The main course is normal in standard. The appetizers do not have many choices. The egg salad is good. Others are so so. The dessert is not good in general this time!!! Not much taste for both bread pudding and apple cake!!!I have requested to print words on dessert plate. No arrangement or information theoughout the dinner! Quite disalpointed for that!!!The best thing in the meal is the bread!!

平時出外用膳,吃到的都是全職㕑師所烹調的食物,他們的功架,都無須質疑,但長期在廚房烹調餐牌內的同一菜式,久而久之,難免流於公式法,難有所突破。今午約了友人來到Hotel Icon 內一間由香港理工大學酒店及旅遊管理學院主理的餐廳午膳。餐廳的經營由廚師至侍應都是學生,每星期學生都會安排一個主題項目,目的是將他們平時在課堂所學,在餐廳內正式向客人示範,他們對菜式的烹調和對客人的侍奉都會非常專注,盡心盡力和一絲不苟。頭盤:豆蓉湯、泰式牛肉棒、蔬菜沙律。主菜 : 煎鱸魚配薯蓉、燒西冷牛扒配羽衣甘藍和藜麥沙律。甜點:芝士餅配雪糕由頭盤、主菜至甜品,每道菜式除了外表美觀,材料質優新鮮,烹調技巧都有相當水準,可見一班學生都非常用心去製作,值得稱讚。

相約了好同事在這間餐廳慶祝生日, 第一次光顧, 發覺這裡環境不錯,枱與枱之間相距頗遠距離,保證鄰枱不會聽到我們的話題。我點了餐湯,主菜點了煎焗海鱸魚柳,甜品是Pancake。餐湯, 不太特別, 暖暖胃。煎焗海鱸魚柳:  不會有魚腥味, 而且唔會焗得太乾, 好吃。焦糖香蕉班戟: 又香又好吃, 班戟是結實的, 但不算大塊, 所以擁有兩個胃的女士絕對可以清碟,加上班戟旁邊有生果及香蕉乾增加不同味道及口感, 跟好同事說著說著就清了碟。Overall, 我們都滿意這午餐, 下次會再來。

焦糖香蕉班戟: 又香又好吃, 班戟是結實的, 但不算大塊, 所以擁有兩個胃的女士絕對可以清碟,

June 20' 2018(Wed), one of my colleagues arrived "Bistro 1979" at 11:44am, but was told to wait till Noon, outside of restaurant which has no seating space. When all 4 of us were seated, the student waitress quickly offered us water and small piece of ciabatta bread. The portion of butter was really small. 😞 We ordered 3 portions of scallops with caviar and salmon roe, and a portion of mixed salad as Appetizers. When all 4 of us were seated, the student waitress quickly offered us water and small piece of ciabatta bread. The portion of butter was really small. 😞

We ordered 3 portions of scallops with caviar and salmon roe, and a portion of mixed salad as Appetizers. For main courses, we ordered 3 x Panfried fillet of Barramundi and 1 x slow cooked Pork Loin. Nevertheless, when the main courses were delivered to table, they were just luke warm, not even hot. The Barramundi fish's skin were not crispy, nor any taste of the fish fillet . I have to keep adding pepper powder to bring up my palates. As my 3 other colleagues finished their main courses earlier than me, I was taking my time to enjoy the fish, yet I was being asked 3 times to clear away my plate. That was quite annoying.....


At the end of the meal, there was no one to ask us about our dining experience, it was really disappointing. Not even the Manager came to greet or canvass us.



Given that it is a training restaurant for student trainees to learn about service etiquette, certainly there is room for improvement.

I personally wouldn't recommend to dine here again with such Food Quality and the price of set lunch @HK$125/person with only appetizer + main course + coffee/tea.

The cheesecake was rich and I guess the initial presentation of the dessert the green tea air should give it a very foamy garden like appearance but I guess the "air" became liquid quite fast. But the taste was overall good.

最後預備好生日蛋糕驚喜, 餐廳人員非常配合有熱誠, 搞氣氛, 問我要不要多一些甜品,或加餐酒,非常週到!

臨走發現呢間餐廳從環境、氛圍到服務人員,𥚃𥚃外外充滿了朝氣活力, 仲有在讀酒店學生在場, 非常有意義。

主菜︰三文魚闊條麵 - D麵冇咩味
甜品︰唔記得左,但味道不錯。

前菜︰洋蔥湯配法式麵包 - 一般,但個麵包幾好食
主菜︰香草煎雞扒配薯蓉 - 幾好味,特別係D配菜,幾入味
甜品︰迷你鮮果撻+綠茶奶凍+咖啡慕絲蛋糕 - 好味!每次都覺得佢地D甜品係做得最好!

服務方面,由於佢地都係學生,未必做到出面D餐廳咁好,但睇得出佢地有熱誠,就算做錯野,都會包容多D。

價錢方面,分別是$85同$95。
$85 - 前菜、主菜、飲品
$95 - 前菜、主菜、甜品、飲品
之後加$5類似係服務費既野。我地6個人食$600,即係每人100。

環境方面,營造到高級餐廳既感覺,所以我覺得環境不錯。
