雖然中環好似好多唔同種類既餐廳,但係我就成日覺得無咩選擇,一係就排隊排好耐先有得食,一係就太貴,想簡簡單單食餐好味得黎又唔貴真係難。不過今日經過呢頭見到呢間茶記好似新開,感覺好似唔錯就入去試一試啦,估唔到都好有驚喜。餐廳裝修非常有特色,舊式茶記裝修充滿懷舊既感覺,雖然懷舊但唔會有舊既感覺,舒服企理,打卡一流。食物方面,香煎美國牛柳拼大蝦好出色,先講d蝦啖啖肉燒得好香,牛柳非常厚身,勁juicy有口感又有牛味,薯角特別要讚下,炸得好香脆,好正。日式鰻魚炒飯真係有好大粒既鰻魚,仲有d鰻魚好香好彈牙,飯乾身唔油有飯香,絕對係一個一流既炒飯。菠蘿生炒骨個份量真係好足,肉夠厚夠入味,酸酸甜甜好開胃。上湯瑤柱浸時蔬清清地好新鮮,份量都多,唔錯。叫左杯紅豆冰都大杯呀,好抵飲。龍鳳檸樂好有特色。總括一句,價錢合理,食物質素高,環境舒服,要encore。

I was curious about the drink named “white rabbit” so of course I had to order it! It turned out to be a fruit punch drink with marshmallows on top which was actually quite refreshing and delicious! We also ordered the mint chocolate drink which had a shaved ice drink. Both were so aesthetically pleasing and beautifully tasty.


Next, we ordered some steaks which came out on a sizzling hot plate! Of course, don’t expect steakhouse quality steak, but I thought it was still pretty good considering this is a cha chaan teng. The portions were huge, and you also got to choose from 3 different sauces. We got the garlic and the black pepper sauce.


We also tried the hainan chicken and pork knuckle rice combo set. The rice was fragrant with Hainanese flavours, the chicken was smooth and the pork buckle was done in a traditional style.

I ordered the special all day set ($68) that was suggested to me by the staff. This included a drink, choice of protein with instant noodle and toast with omelette with two topping choices.

For the drink, I chose a ice red bean milk. The menu said it used Japanese azuki beans. Not sure if that makes a difference but they also used coconut milk instead of regular milk. This made it more fragrant than normal red bean milk. I ended up giving this to boyfriend as he likes coconut milk more than I do.

The omelette toppings I chose was beef and mushroom. Now in retrospect, I should have chose beef with cheese. But this was really good. The toast was thick and nicely crispy. The omelette was not overcooked and the amount of toppings was generous. I think after eating this, I was already half full!

The instant noodle topping I chose was a pork chop. I must admit, it looked a bit sad. But then after taking a bite of the pork chop, it was really good. The pork chop was thickly cut. It was marinaded very well so the entire chop was packed with flavor.

Boyfriend ordered the beef coconut curry ($62) with garlic naan. The garlic naan wasn't really a naan? I think it was a Chinese onion pancake. But then it said Chinese onion pancake in Chinese but naan in English. So, the Chinese is correct.  The curry was pretty spicy but still had a rich coconut taste. The beef was tender. There were some boiled vegetables on the side which weren't flavored at all. Boyfriend just put them into the curry to make them taste better.

As I wasn't too into so much coconut milk, I ordered another drink. I was planning on my usual ice lemon tea but then I saw they had strange mocktails and tried one as I was curious. This is fruit punch topped with marshmallows ($26). It was in two color layers. The top used the butterfly pea that is so popular now. There was a LOT of canned cocktail fruit. It was fun. Bubbly and sweet at the same time. The only thing was the marshmallows were chewy. Probably due to  being soaked on top. But it was fun, none the less.

We also shared a Yuzu Coca Cola chicken wings ($36). The wings were tender and juicy. They were sweet with a slight yuzu flavor.

While eating, a coworker of mine came in and we waved her over to sit with us. She ordered the Sweet and Sour Fish ($78) and added a bowl of rice. This was a big portion! Much bigger than she had expected so we ate some of it to help her out. This was pretty good. The fish was moist and the amount of coating was just right. The balance of sour and sweet was good. They appeared to use fresh pineapple as well.

Overall, pretty good cha chan teng food. Prices a bit expensive but then it is also Central. I guess the portion sizes make up for it as they were larger than expected. Place was clean as well.
