這次, 在餐廳選擇上, 第一家令我想起的, 是我多次略門而過的 Craftsteak。或許是這網站的食評令我猶豫了一些, 又或許是當年旁邊的 Cafe de Paris 把我綁住了 (現在已不復當年勇), 令我每次經過 Craftsteak 門前都若有所失, 因此, 在沒有考慮太多其他餐廳的情況下, 便決定選擇這裡為我們首次約會的餐廳。

晚上七時許, 進入餐廳, 看見旁邊的兩道紅磚牆, 加上簡潔的擺設, 在柔和的燈光襯托下, 令人感到份外輕鬆。當時入座率已達七八成之多, 幸好一早留了座, 被安排坐在一張靠牆的二人桌子, 談起心來也不易被騷擾, 實在要讚一讚店方的細心安排。


店員先循例地問: "Sparkling?" 是晚不太想喝 Sparkling, 於是選擇了 Tap Water, 卻因而得到店方送的一枝 Complementary Non-Sparkling Water, 甚為驚喜, 亦是一個好的開始。


由於是首次光臨的緣故, 實在要花多點時間去鑽研餐牌。來到一家 Steakhouse, 吃的當然是牛扒吧~ 此時, 實在要讚一讚餐廳在食物選擇上的特色。除了一些慣常看到的選擇如 Sirloin, Ribeye, T-Bone 等外, 亦有一些頗為特別的選擇, 包括 Flat Iron, Rump Steak, Skirt Steak 和 Hanger Steak, 店員亦頗為樂意和細心地講解每一個選擇的特色﹑來源和味道等, 雖然不是每一個選擇都令我們完全明白, 但其誠意絕對可嘉。

點了菜後, 先來的是湯。我倆同時選擇的洋蔥湯, 絕對是驚喜之作!!! 一直以來, 能夠把我綁在旁邊 Cafe de Paris 的其中一道菜, 便是洋蔥湯。眼前的洋蔥湯, 驟眼一看, 頂層焗至微焦的厚芝士, 加上圍繞在旁呈極深楬色的湯底, 賣相已叫人眼前一亮。未喝前, 大約已估計到味道應該不會差, 喝一口, 便發覺自己低估了其威力。湯底的味道和其顏色一樣的濃, 口感甚豐厚。洋蔥份量極多, 絕無欺場, 卻不會做成料多湯少的反效果, 每一羹湯都帶有過半羹份量的洋蔥, 絕對配合得天衣無縫。正所謂 "一山還有一山高", 原來最好的尚未來臨, 直到今日, 妳同意嗎?


喝過幾乎完美的洋蔥湯後, 來了一道頭盤 - 法式焗田螺。和洋蔥湯一樣, 精緻的賣相已為該道菜增添了不少分數。摒棄了一般餐廳慣常選用的薯茸, 店方選擇了以海鹽作為配襯主角的綠葉, 少了一份油膩感, 亦突顯了田螺的鮮味。用來夾田螺的餐具不太完美, 或許是經過歲月的洗禮, 夾著田螺時不是太緊, 然而, 卻變成了我和妳之間的一種小玩意, 亦打破了我們之間的 "首次約會候群症"~


頭盤過後, 主菜便來到了, Rump Steak 是妳的選擇。根據店員所講, Rump Steak 是後腿近臀部部位切塊牛排, 口感較堅硬, 但充滿極濃烈的牛味。妳給我試了一口, 第一個感覺是 - 很韌, 同時亦感受到一種很濃烈的牛味, 吃慣了 Sirloin 和 Ribeye 那種味道的我, 幾乎接受不到這種程度的濃烈。然而, 看來妳對這種濃烈味道頗為受落, 不知妳對愛情方面, 是否亦是渴望來一場轟轟烈烈的嗎?

相對起 Rump Steak, 我的選擇 - T-Bone 卻來得平淡一些。T-Bone 是由 Sirloin 和一小部分的 Filet 組合而成, 中間則被一條肋骨隔著。 整體來說, T-bone 被燒得達至外脆內軟的效果。燒得焦了的 Sirloin 邊位部份, 香脆得來亦將脂肪裡多餘的油份取走, 不錯~ 肉質方面, 要求的 Medium 做到了, 中間呈粉紅色, 周邊則是微微的熟, 恰到好處, 咀嚼時有肉汁流出, 口感一流; 加上那一邊廂 Filet 所帶來的咬勁, 令整件牛扒充滿層次感。就像愛情一樣, 走的每一段路, 都應該有著不同的感受, 彼此一起經歷過, 才會更了解對方。

原本希望以甜品作為這一頓晚餐的壓軸, 奈何快樂的言談之間已不經不覺接近電影開始的時間, 唯有趕快結賬離去....... 不過, 結賬時又發現了, 自己的匯豐信用咭原來有九折優惠....


想不到, 幸運也可以在一餐飯裡 "首尾呼應"。那麼, 我的幸福又可以 "首尾呼應" 嗎?

無論如何, 至少我知道, 是晚的確是一個好的開始。

星期四和朋友與朋友的小孩一行六人到這裡聚餐,坐得舒服,吃得開懷,算是高興的.套餐可以選soup/salad + main ($88+10%), soup+salad+main ($128?+10%),如果嗜甜的還可以加$30要一個甜點.不奉送咖啡或茶,可能對有些人來說比較不划算,但那杯飯後茶可有可無,所以我覺得這樣反而好,不會為了一杯免費飲料而硬把肚皮撐破,特別是這裡的份量算是很大哦!頭盤朋友1和我選了smoked bacon, peas and ham potage.濃濃的湯,整碗滿滿的都是豆子和煙肉,非常香.只是有點鹹.說實在的,喝完湯已經七成飽!朋友3的小孩跟朋友2都選了smoked salmon and avocado salad,一大個碟子舖滿了煙三文魚,決不欺場.他們都吃得舔嘴咂舌.主菜我選了grilled beef steak with mushroom and spaetzle (大概是這樣的名字).牛肉切成條狀,有一定厚度,燒得軟嫩,有鮮味,不錯.可惜那個cream sauce太太太濃而且偏鹹,於是我無法把那些泡在sauce裡面的蘑菇吃掉.Spaetzle是類似貓耳朵

主菜我選了grilled beef steak with mushroom and spaetzle (大概是這樣的名字).牛肉切成條狀,有一定厚度,燒得軟嫩,有鮮味,不錯.可惜那個cream sauce太太太濃而且偏鹹,於是我無法把那些泡在sauce裡面的蘑菇吃掉.Spaetzle是類似貓耳朵的麵食,看起來是軟攤攤其實是頗有嚼頭的.跟gnocchi有點相似但吃完不會令我有"呆滯"感,我蠻喜歡的.

朋友1對他的grilled salmon steak讚不絕口:外皮脆,內裏柔滑多汁!聽起來也覺得好吃.

吃完主菜已經很飽,所以沒追加甜品.小孩子們點的chocolate mud pudding cake和keylime tart份量都很大!聽說還蠻好吃的(keylime tart的皮看起來像oreo!),不過mud pudding cake有點太甜.

我覺得是不錯的地方,食物也可以,但對我來說偏鹹了一點.如果下次再來要拜託廚師放少一點鹽了.

My friend and I dined at Craftsteak last night. We went there because it was recommended by SCMP and they called it the Editor's choice.We ordered Tartar stick and bone marrow as appetizers. Disappointing: Tartar stick with taste, not even beef taste. Bone marrow as well. My friend and I dined at Craftsteak last night. We went there because it was recommended by SCMP and they called it the Editor's choice.

We ordered Tartar stick and bone marrow as appetizers. Disappointing: Tartar stick with taste, not even beef taste. Bone marrow as well. A lot of unnecessary coarsely grinded stuff covering the whole marrow which is supposed to be eated for its soft and silky texture.

Then the steak was served with 'cold heart'. We ordered medium rare. It's basically OK except the fact that it was cold inside. We returned the steak to them. The chef used his bare finger to touch the steak and then asked the cook at the stove to re-cook it. We got back the 'touched' steak again and without surprise it's overdone. They did not apologise or intend to change another one for us. We finished that 'contaminated' steak and rushed out.

If not due to the wine we ordered that cost quite a lot, we would leave at once.

Besides, most of the wine are over-priced. Don't go.

上星期到隔鄰的越南餐廳,今次來這間西餐廳試試。四個人選了四個套餐,餐湯有周打魚湯,雜菜湯和洋葱湯。前菜有三文魚沙律,炭燒牛肉,還有雜菌素麵。由於首次到這餐廳用膳,所以未知食物的份量原來都不少,即使慢慢吃都吃了一小時,幸好時間充足,加上食物的確很美味,進食環境亦頗舒適,有機會也會再來試試其他美食。

要開始三天三夜的戒澱粉質及含糖份食物的生涯,第二天,又鋸扒。大集團餐廳,這裡環境不錯,很雅致,是個不錯的吃午餐的地方。兩道菜的午餐,前菜又是豆湯,唯有要了另一個選擇的菠菜苗沙律,及一客烤豬排。先來兩個麵包,看樣子味道不錯的,不過就不能吃了;前菜的菠菜苗沙律,除了墊底的菠菜苗外,甜椒絲、洋蔥、蕃茄等全含糖份,都得個睇字。在沒醬汁單吃菠菜苗的情況下,雖然新鮮,但味道是又淡又寡,還帶點苦。不過是我自己的選擇,與店子無關的。食友選了豬肉醬,香草味道足,味道也不差;烤豬扒烤得對辦,可惜豬扒本身肉質比較遜色,廋的部份很韌,邊位近脢頭肉及肥肉的地方才較可口。什麼醬汁也不下,只有鹽及胡椒,單是燒烤味道已經夠好。試了食友的劍魚扒,外皮烤得香脆,內裡也保持嫩滑,再加上檸檬及牛油做的醬汁,很不錯的。午餐不包餐飲的,要了咖啡奶菜各一杯,埋單二百六十蚊,以這個地區及環境計,也不算貴,可以一來的。

My husband ordered a sirloin steak and half of it was nothing but fat. The edible part was all right so we didn't want to make a fuss and ask for an exchange. At the end of the meal we let the manager know that half the steak was fat. All we wanted was to inform them. But guess what? She had the nerve to argue with us and said it's natural. Of course we know sirloin has a bit of fat, but not half! I told her that it's terrible for the steak to be this fatty and she turned her head and walked awa

Here comes the good part. She came back to our table with a piece of raw meat for show and tell. Thanks, but no thanks for the confrontation. Is confronting your customer the best way to win returning business? I really don't see her point in making a scene.

We didn't want to discuss with her further and told her to forget about it. As my husband walked to the restroom, she followed him and asked if he would like to speak with the chef. He agreed. Well, guess what? The chef claimed the steak that he served my husband was even better than the raw meat the waitress just brought over to our table. To further the insult, the chef insisted on educating my husband how a sirloin should be like and asked "do you want more meat?" A simple apology would have been appreciated!

I hate to remind the restaurant owner this, but there're plenty of restaurants in SoHo. Even without this nasty incident, Craftstead by far isn't the best restaurant in the area. The lamb rack that my friend and I ordered were chewy. At best, I'd say the sauce was good. But wait, forgot to mention, it was nothing more than a simple peppercorn sauce.

Not surprisingly, the table next to us also rejected the steak that was served to them!

I went to Craftsteak on monday night,while two of us were walk-in, the host told us that we've to return the table before 8:45pm (we entered at around 7pm)that was reasonable.but within the hour the restaurant was only half full, they still placed us to the nearest table right beside the open kitchen(smells a lot). They werent' able to provide us better seatings even there were tons of empty tables.The service was bad. No recommendations. Rush service trying to force us to leave asap.I do not th

大project將搞掂,很感恩,龍更很nice請我到SOHO食飯預慶~~ 手執新機的他,想找一間靚景餐廳影相,我又想食牛,就來了這間靜靜的扒房鋸扒。餐廳環境優美,而且十分之靜局。我們七點前到,感覺像包場一樣,當然趁機影了不少相,其中不乏水準之作,特別是龍的大機,始終拍景是大機取勝~~ 比較之下,食物似乎成為了配角。其實當晚點的Sirloin及Ribeye都相當不錯:來自澳洲牛柳相肉味濃厚,而且火侯掌握得宜,內部呈粉紅色仍十分嫩滑,牛肉邊則帶微焦香口得很。我們試了steakhouse sauce及侍者推介的peppercorn兩種sauce,前者酸味重,peppercorn就十分美味,與牛柳是很好的配搭,果然沒有推介錯。 環境食物都不錯,價錢自然會貴些少,一份牛柳由$188起,且不包括side dish,水也要另外收費。不過為了影到靚相,龍都不介意食貴點,我就多謝他啦!  更多相可見:http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/561143507QRncjY

Well, beacuse:

reason No.1 - they have nice steak;
reason No.2 - I'm "stuck" in SoHo;

reason No.4 - Lucy's paying :-D (sorry to admit, mais c'est vrai~~!!)

Thus, we ordered:

- A bottle of red wine (Benchmark Shiraz 2005 for HK$320-)
- San Pellegrino (HK$40-)
- Grilled Ceasar (HK$78-)
- Foie Gras Parfait (HK$98-)
- Side orders: Grilled Asparagus (HK$32-) & Lyonnais Potato (HK$32-)
- Lucy ordered 14oz Australian Bone in Sirloin (HK$198-) **medium**
- I had 9oz Australian Fillet (HK$188-) **medium**

as always, fillet tastes great - not too fatty nor lean & goes well with peppercorn sauce.

i broke my routine of ordering spinach & mushroom for side orders. so, we had asparagus & potatoes... they r not bad, but i guess i would switch back to my "routine" next time... i simply love spinach & mushroom


The Foie Gras is more like Pate instead, with a small veg salad, 3 toasties and jam (i believe it's fig jam?? but not 100% sure...) - this is one of Gloria's favourite dishes - Pate with fig jam & toastie... unfortunately, she wasn't here with us last night...


Grilled Ceasar is great as they did not cut the romaine but just leave them (2 of them) lying side by side with some sauce & grate parmesan... yummy~~!!

Lucy commented that the wine is good. to me, it's young & fruity with bright red color, pleasant to the nose with sweet aroma of berries - good company with steak & poultry... am no expert about wine though...


My favourite is still the 1993 Pauillac (Chateau - Lynch Bages) - I had it on 10th Jan, 2007 & am still keeping the cork as the smell is lovely


So, we spent a total of HK$1,085.00 last night for dinner which is quite reasonable for the quality of food & decor.

I had lunch at Craftsteak with 4 other ladies on a Saturday. At first, my friend booked a table at Soho Spice, but can you believe it? She sat down and saw a rat slowly walking by. Therefore, before I arrived, they decided to move to another restaurant in Soho. They chose Craftsteak, probably because of the comfortable seating and nice decor.

I arrived at around 1:15 pm and the last one arrived at around 1:45 pm. We were told that it was time for last order at 2:30 pm. Fine, but the attitude of the male waiter was rude and impolite. Regrettably, non-Chinese staff members were better, but we already had a bad impression. We were almost urged to leave at 3 pm sharp! What kind of service was that??? We had to pay $110 per head. I had lots of other choices in Central. Last time, when I had lunch with two other friends at Gingko House, staff members were very polite and said we could sit as long as we were enjoying the food and beverages. I will NEVER eat at Craftsteak again! Even though the seating was nice and comfortable, it could not compensate for the poor service and bad experience we had, let alone the just average food quality!

Back to the food. We chose different appetizers/soups and main courses to share. Portions were large and we couldn't finish two dishes (almost left untouched). For appetizers, we tried mixed green with ranch dressing, smoked salmon salad, bruchetta, and 2 different soups. Bruchetta was good and the salad was just OK. Soups looked creamy (clam chowder and mushroom soup) though I didn’t try. It’s a hot day and I ordered an iced tea instead. For main courses, Craftsteak boasted its open fire cooking and grilled meat / seafood were offered. We ordered grilled fish, chicken, pork loin, steak and a risotto. Risotto was very "wet", though the taste was OK. The grilled fish was very tough, almost left untouched. Grilled chicken and pork were also not tender. The carrot pieces served with the pork loin were sweet and juicy though.

When we ordered risotto, the impolite waiter questioned our knowledge about risotto. “It's hard inside…”WE KNOW OF COURSE, a perfect risotto should be just al dente, neither too hard nor too soft. Well-trained, helpful and friendly waiters at good Italian restaurants will explain to guests the texture and the difference between Chinese rice and risotto.

Since we're urged to leave, we paid the bill unhappily and went across to Starbucks for our coffee...

主菜的minute steak 比我想像中大分﹐肉質味道都是中上之選﹐在這個價錢lunch set 來說是想當不錯的了﹐不過火候控制好像不太到家。要medium 和medium well 出來的效果分別不大﹐都是7 成熟﹐如能改善就更好﹗香煎皇帝魚台型吸引﹐厚厚的魚扒上面是煎得金黃色的的魚皮﹐魚皮咬下香脆可口﹐魚肉則嫩滑彈牙﹐充滿魚汁的鮮味﹐套餐的煎魚居然有此水準﹐難得﹗我的燒春雞也不弱﹐不過好像大隻左少少﹐不太像春雞囉﹗半隻的份量對我來說是太多了點﹐幸好肉質依然很嫩﹐一點都不鞋口(包括雞胸肉)。燒雞上面鋪了一層黑猛猛的醬汁﹐不過都是太鹹﹐我寧願沒有這汁料。

一頓西餐沒有甜品好像總是不完美的﹐所以雖然已經很飽很飽﹐我們4 人還是要了一個Banana Cream Pie 分來吃。我自己就覺得甜品普通﹐個批底如果可以脆些和更香牛油味會更好﹐不過都要讚讚它不會太膩(當初點的時候覺得聽個名字都覺得膩)﹐ok 喇。

看過個a la carte 餐牌﹐中等價錢﹐相信下次可以來一嘗這裡的晚餐。

The overall quality is consistently high and very much worth the value! The minute steak is particularly wonderful and the portabello mushroom soup is fabulous. Lunch set with such high quality @ HK88+ is very reasonable. The waiters are very polite and look professional. However the open kitchen has made the suits smell very strong!

I went there with my friends for a friend's birthday. Overall, their mains were good but the starter/soups were average:Main Course:Fillet –highly recommended. Main Course:

裝修以木為主,牆上掛了些黑白畫,最入係個open kitchen,幾舒服。Lunch set portion 幾大,食唔哂,本來想食埋甜品都唔得。個mushroom soup 好濃,個人很喜歡,smoked salmon salad 都好味。個steak同daily fish都ok,但略嫌件steak唔夠嫩。Overall感覺好好,幾抵。

Planned to have lunch with friend in my beloved Brasserie Le fauchon for lunch last week. As the set lunch for the day is not attractive, we tried to hunt for another restaurant in Elgin Street. Their lunch set are comparatively expensive than most of the other restaurants in soho. Both of the soup is wonderful and out of my expectation! The main course is just ok... quite disappointed with the steak, coz it is not juicy and quite chewy... We have completed the lunch by ordering 2 house coffee.

Perhaps I will visit it again but definitely won't in short, coz there are so many better choice around.
