花鵰話梅醉蟹腳的賣相非常討好,份量足夠4人享用,而蟹腳是用上亞拉斯加皇帝蟹,蟹肉結實鮮甜,帶有淡淡的酒香,但花鵰酒味道不算強烈,而用上話梅來調味,細嚼時會透出微微的梅香,酸酸甜甜的,非常開胃。

來到冷盤,先是醬牛筋,它的口感有點像肴肉,就是分了上下兩層,上層是半透明啫喱,而下層就是牛筋,啫喱入口即溶,馥郁香濃,帶有牛香味,而牛筋口感軟淋入味,鹹度適中,冷冷凍凍的,非常好吃。

第二道冷盤是夫妻肺片,它是四川名菜,很多人以為肺片是指動物的肺部,其實它是以牛肉為主料,如牛心、牛舌、牛肚等製成,先滷煮再切片,配上醬油及花椒等調味而成,肺片煮得非常入味,肉質帶點煙韌,味道香辣而不嗆,就算不愛吃辣的人也能輕易接受。

吃過夫妻肺片,微辣令口腔變得熱熱的,在這個時候,吃一口涼拌海蜇皮,頓時帶來一陣清新的感覺,海蜇皮口感爽脆,有嚼勁,而上層灑了麻油及芝麻,令海蜇變得更香口,吃時可配上青瓜絲,令口感更豐富。

吃過冷盤,原盅燉靚湯便送上來,打開蓋子,已經傳來聞聞的香味,而燉湯內的材料豐富,包括有合掌瓜、雪耳、瘦肉及雞腳等,湯質濃稀適中,味道鮮甜,帶有滿滿的肉香味道,喝後感覺相當潤喉,極像平日媽媽煮的老火湯。

4位可點2款涼滬小菜,而我們分別點了鳯梨咕嚕肉及花菇紅燒豆腐。

鳯梨咕嚕肉的味道不錯,這個菜式煮得挺夠鑊氣,加上鳯梨味道香甜,咕嚕肉口感亦夠鬆脆,酸酸甜甜的,佐飯一流。

花菇紅燒豆腐沒有給我很大的驚喜,只是一般的水準之作,菜式內加了大量的配料,如青豆、雲耳及竹荀,令口感頓時豐富起來,不過,份量有點偏少,可以加多一點點的話會更好。

隨套餐跟送甜品,而這天的甜品是豆沙窩餅,個人認為豆沙窩餅的餅皮油炸得有點過,所以餅皮色調偏深,感覺有點熱氣,而且豆沙的味道偏甜,吃了一片已經要投降。
Other Info. : 也許我們的胃比一般人大,總覺得菜館的菜式碟頭較小,吃後肚子仍然有一種空虛感覺,若果餐廳能把菜式的份量加大的話,相當食客會吃得更開心滿足。

We (I) were 80% full at this time. The rice cake was harder than expected. Would be better if it was a bit more chewy. We takeaway the leftover of this; it was less hard after reheating again next day.

Worth mentioning is the environment! It was super decent, nice service.

Chicken in Huaodiao Sauce. My  choice of appetizer as I love wine drenched drunken chicken. This was pretty good. The chicken was moist. The wine was on the sweet side and not bitter like some places tend to. The chicken was also well marinaded with the wine to give it that appropriate boozy flavor I love.

Braised Pork Ball in Soy Sauce. This is the main that I chose. Something I like ordering at Shanghai restaurants. This was pretty good. The pork ball was soft and fluffy. There was a generous amount of vegetables that soaked up all the wonderful sweet and savory sauce.

Shanghai Style Noodles in Soup. I chose this instead of rice. You do have the option of adding $10 for different noodles. I may try that next time. I expected this to be just plain noodles in soup to complement the savory dishes, but it also came with bits of chicken meat and vegetables, making it taste like my main dish. Other than that, the noodles were chewy, just that way I like it.

For $68, this was  lot of food and excellent value for money. Each portion was the right amount so that I was full. Taste was pretty good. Even the tea was fragrant and they don't give you choice in tea so I always expect some bitter brown water. But it wasn't! Service was good as my tea was constantly refilled without asking. No wonder the place was full during lunch. I will definitely be back.

花鵰話梅醉蟹腳

這花鵰話梅醉蟹腳用的是阿拉斯加皇帝蟹,所以蟹腳明顯比平時吃到的大隻而多肉。單是看到蟹腳大大隻而多肉的樣子,我們的眼睛也頓時變成心心眼。蟹腳外殻軟軟,要把它拆掉一點也不難,只是要小心外殻的刺。蟹肉扎實而彈牙,鮮甜無比外還散發着濃郁的花鵰味。由於花鵰味濃濃,所以有點蓋過話梅的味道,但無損我對它的鍾愛。吃過了出色蟹腳後,我們就連話梅都不放過,話梅甜甜酸酸很開胃之餘,吃過了後又毫無口渴感,又一出色之作。

Well seasoned vegetable is always best to clean your stomache after the meat-devours! This cabbage service with ham and Tientsin is pleasantly moist and delightful!

This plate was more or less monotonous, rice cake was over-softened that lacked the chewy texture for my liking.

Pleasant sweets to end the meal! Almond flavour could be even stronger though. Adding more fruits would be even more satisfying!

Would definitely check this out again in near future.  Neatly presented layout with pleasant music and vibe to lay back and enjoy quality dishes.  This place was simply eclectic!
