I Haven’t been back here for a number of years, so I was looking forward to tonight’s dinner. Ordered a few of their signature dishes (deep fried stuffed crab shell, crispy chicken and char siu/siu yuk combi) - I have to say that other than the stuffed crab shell, I was disappointed with the dishes. Crab was delicious, and was stuffed with mostly crab meat unlike some other places where onions, cream etc were added. The chicken had a nice crispy skin, but was too dry and not that fresh (the wing was somewhat stale tasting). Char siu was flavorful and not overwhelmingly sweet, but meat was a bit tough especially after it became cold. Siu yuk was decent, although nothing to shout about.
Given that I ordered simple and classic dishes, I had expected the quality of Fook Lam Moon’s execution to shine through. Unfortunately, this place now appears to be just resting on it’s past glory.
