This joint is located in the middle of no where and it is neither close to Causeway Bay or Wan Chai because it is bang right in the middle with lots of roads to cross from either direction.I have always wanted to visit this place but getting there was a problem.I am not the person to like Chinese preserved sausages but I will still try them out when there are a lot of good reviews and I often change my opinion afterwards.I finally made the effort to go when I saw two consecutive ENGLISH reviews

I have always wanted to visit this place but getting there was a problem.

I am not the person to like Chinese preserved sausages but I will still try them out when there are a lot of good reviews and I often change my opinion afterwards.

I finally made the effort to go when I saw two consecutive ENGLISH reviews because the previous ones were mainly Chinese and not that convincing but the pictures were promising to be on my to eat list.

The glutinous rice is also Eric wan's (尹天照) favourite but he said that this place was not open all the time.
(This was said quite a few years ago)

After reading the English reviews again and again I finally went on a nice cold day!

The restaurant is quite small and cosy, and it was perfect watching the tram go past because it felt like being a scene from an old Hong Kong movie.

At the front of the shop, there is a cooker of some sort that holds the glutinous rice with holes on the acrylic windows to let the steam out.

It does not look appealing but it is surprisingly delicious!

The menu was simple but it really helped reading those two English reviews by GW98 and Paramexics because it frankly is quite scary going into one of these places.

Basically the rice with loaded with preserved meats but I could not get enough of the preserved sausage so ordered an extra one.
I never eat preserved waxed meats because they stink, especially the duck leg but the preserved meats in this tiny bowl of delicious rice did not stink at all!!
The glutinous rice which I dislike was suddenly delicious, it was like every grain of rice was coated with flavour and it was chewy and not too hard.
The spring onions and dried Chinese mushrooms gave it more flavour too.
The tiny bowl was quickly finished leaving you craving for more.
It would be great if the preserved meats could be evenly distributed because I have been here quite a few times and sometimes there was no preserved meat or no preserved duck.

Before I ordered them I assumed they were steamed but they were pan-fried as well.
Part of the rice rolls were lovely and crisp, and the middle was soft as it should be.

The congee had almost everything under the sun in it such as dried oysters, preserved egg, pork, pork bone but it was slightly disappointing because with all those ingredients, the taste was bland.
The ingredients in the congee were generous, there was nearly half of an preserved egg there.

依稀還記得,在下童年的時候,有著不少車仔檔,有車仔麵,雞蛋仔,粉果牛燒賣,粉仔,還有糯米飯等等,直到中學時代在工廠做暑期工,下班吃中午飯,便跑到公司樓下買飯盒,當時一個飯盒只是五個大洋,而且還可以加底,但是今時今日已經賬價不少了。直到九十年代初,車仔檔只有在晚間出現,也造就了下班的人士提供了一個方便吃東西的好去處。時至今天,找一車仔檔已經是一件十分渺茫的事,要吃昔日的味道,唯有去舖頭好了。然而一些老舖小店,卻捱不住高昴的租金,如銅鑼灣的利苑粥麵和尖沙嘴的陳誠記,卻要被迫倒下來,換來的卻是不想看到的事,依然存在的老店強記,便是其中一間。強記的門面有煎腸粉和糯米飯,而店子的另一邊卻擺放了紅豆沙和喳喳的車仔,賣的雖然只有幾款食物,店舖裡卻只可坐著十多二十個顧客,名符其實是一間小店。當看到強記所賣的食物,令在下回想起以前,那些還是車仔檔的年代的人情味,車仔檔主總會問一句:上學未呀?!有時候想起來,也會回心微笑。有些屋村酒樓有大排檔,當中不乏有煎腸粉,在強記也有得吃。一碟滑溜的腸粉被煎過了,就像在腸粉上黏著了一層薄薄的薄脆,使滑溜中也帶點鬆脆和燒焦的味道,再加上必然的醬料,無論是甜醬,辣醬,麻醬

有些屋村酒樓有大排檔,當中不乏有煎腸粉,在強記也有得吃。一碟滑溜的腸粉被煎過了,就像在腸粉上黏著了一層薄薄的薄脆,使滑溜中也帶點鬆脆和燒焦的味道,再加上必然的醬料,無論是甜醬,辣醬,麻醬,醬油及芝麻,使燒焦而帶滑溜的腸粉,成為了百般滋味的腸粉,再加上蝦米和蒽花,使口感更加豐富。強記的煎腸粉,絕不會遜色過酒樓的煎腸粉,反而多了一點人情味。

臘味糯米飯是在下久違了很久了,除了上酒樓外,在下根本沒有機會在小店裡吃過糯米飯,從前在車仔檔年代,都曾經嚐試過,但是之後卻一直再沒有試過了。這碗臘味糯米飯有切碎了的潤腸和臘腸,使整碗糯米飯更具嚼勁和咬口,臘腸和潤腸的油滲入在糯米飯中,使糯米飯更有臘味的味道,雖然沒有花生在糯米飯裡,但是已經極具口感了。

魚蛋丶燒賣均不是自家製品,蒸煮的時間過長,吃起來味道丶質感毫不討好。蘿白煮至軟腍,加上本身清甜無渣,水準倒是比前兩者好很多。不過當你抬頭看看別人都在吃糯米飯和煎腸粉的時候,你就會明白為何你眼前的這一碗沒有令你感到很滿意。

腸粉講求薄而不穿,細滑中帶一點嚼勁,而煎腸粉則為白如雪花的外層添上烙印,吃起來帶微微的焦香。港式的豬腸粉以多種醬料拌吃,芝麻醬丶甜醬丶豉油統統澆上去之後再灑上芝麻,這晚的煎腸粉雖然沒有淋上我愛的甜醬,即點即煎的腸粉伴上蝦米和香蔥也毫不失色。

小時候,舅父經常從東莞帶來一些臘味,所以在家中吃晚飯幾乎都可以見到它們的蹤影。也許是因為常見吧,長大後對它沒有太大興趣,但把臘味加到糯米飯後卻是我唯一喜歡的臘味配搭。糯米比一般白米更要耐飽,所以小小一碗已經很足夠。飯面舖了不少臘腸丶臘肉和潤腸的薄片,油份把糯米粒包裹著,粒粒分明的糯米咬起來油香中帶嚼勁,而且又有老抽的調味,配料多可是味道一點也不紊亂,各有精彩,不消一會便被我們清光了。略嫌臘味的份量不夠的話,可以單點 ($8),單吃或是用來伴飯也不錯。

雖然這次回港只有一次機會來這兒吃,為了糯米飯和煎腸粉我還是會再來。只希望下次回來時強記美食能以這碗糯米飯抓緊大集團不斷發展的尾巴,沒有因為是沒有特色的老店而被丟到香港飲食界的歷史簿裡面。

我們一行四人晚上8時左右來到, 門口巳有不少人在等外賣, 其實店主要都是做外賣多, 不過店內也有2,3張圓枱可以堂食, 如果人多時, 更會在旁邊的窄巷多開幾張枱. 老實說衛生程度就真的一般般, 如果不喜歡''那喳''地方的人還是建議買外賣吧.

HKD$7一份其實不算好多, 每款只有4-5粒. 魚蛋是比較細粒的炸魚蛋, 咬下去皮有點韌, 不過內裡的魚膠仍算幾彈牙, 魚味不算濃, 反正都是來貨的, 要求不能太高; 燒賣同樣也是外來貨的魚蓉燒賣, 吃起來有點一PAT的狀態, 不能說是彈牙, 這款就不點也罷了; 比較好的是蘿蔔, 墊在碗底大大件, 色水也浸得較深色, 咬下去十分軟淋入味, 嚼起來也沒有渣, 味道不苦更帶點甜美, 雖然HKD$7只有2-3舊是有點貴, 不過做得不錯. 當然對宅女來說, 來強記始終主打吃腸粉糯米飯, 這些小吃配角如果肚子沒有位就不用點也不會走寶的.

從前只是五, 六元的炒麵, 現在一下子賣到HKD$15一份真的覺得好貴呀....份量是滿多的, 內裡有大片椰菜, 冬菇跟紅蘿蔔絲, 最後還要洒上芝麻. 看起來比較簡單, 不過份量算是幾多的. 麵條炒得不油不膩, 但感覺有點濕, 味道偏淡一點, 個人重口味來說這個炒麵豉油可以下得再多一點. 而椰菜和紅蘿蔔絲切得較大, 入口爽脆不過能找到的分量偏少; 冬菇雖小但夠厚肉, 味道濃郁算不錯. 整體來說HKD$15真的幾貴, 水準只屬平平.

相比起炒麵, 以同等價錢宅女會建議不如試試這裡的腸粉會更划算. 下了單後店主會馬上即時在煎板上把腸粉煎香, 腸粉條條外皮都煎得帶點焦脆, 再洒上不少芝麻, 吃起來相當香口! 而且腸粉本身入口很滑溜又帶點米香, 當中更夾雜了不少蝦地和蔥粒在中間, 味道帶點咸香, 雖然宅女不吃蔥, 但蝦米跟醬汁的味道其實都巳蓋過了那陣草腥味, 所以吃起來只覺有點脆口感覺. 點精的當然是那些麻醬和豉油了! 混上腸粉同吃更多了幾分豐厚感, 十分惹味! 雖然只是個簡單的煎腸粉, 但味道確實來得亳不簡單!!

豬骨粥是宅女老爸最愛的宵夜, 所以這個粥是以前在舊居臨睡前時不時都會有機會吃到的. 今天來到再點一個來懷緬一下. 上來頗大的一碗, 上面還洒了點蔥花, 內裡有著一大舊豬骨, 還看到有不少花生和旺菜 (淡菜). 吃了一口, 粥底仍是一貫的軟棉, 不過是次吃到的比以前好像稀了一點, 記得以前吃時粥底是更為濃稠的. 不過中間的米都煲至蓉爛狀態, 而且入口味道也不會相差太遠.
內裡加有大舊豬骨, 還有像蠔豉仔一樣的淡菜, 吃起來帶點咸味, 鮮香十足. 花生亦煲得夠淋志在豐富口感. 有耐性的話更不妨吃下那舊豬骨吧, 肉雖然不多, 但中間連著少許肥脂和軟嫩的肉, 實在好吃得可以不理儀態拿上手不斷地啜的. 這個粥可說是繼糯米飯後不能不試的美食.

三十元一小碗飯聽起來好飲很貴, 但當看到端上來的這碗糯米飯便知道是絕不欺場. 飯上鋪滿了肥美的臘肉, 臘腸片, 蝦米和冬菇, 再洒上蔥粒. 糯米飯身炒得夠乾身, 不會很焦, 但吃起來仍帶點香脆感. 飯粒粒粒細長飽滿, 豉油下的份量亦得宜, 入口帶點煙韌又軟糯, 很有趙頭. 配上臘味同吃, 尤其喜愛這裡的臘肉, 肥脂部份油光滿滿, 但瘦肉部份帶著咸香, 伴飯吃著油潤豐腴, 而臘腸粒也不會很硬, 加上香口的蝦米和肥厚的冬菇, 味道真是相當豐富! 這碗飯上桌不夠數分數便被大家清得光光, 老實說, 說我是情意結又好, 口味也好, 吃過香港不少的糯米飯, 但每當人們問我哪家的好吃, 我永遠只會推薦這家強記出品的.

上來一條不是很大, 預先巳剪開了一半. 宅女從小到大身邊的朋友多喜愛臘腸, 貪其瘦一點有趙頭, 但個人來說油脂豐富的潤腸才是心頭愛. 這裡潤腸圓碌碌的十分肥美, 內裡的油脂充足, 入口甘香豐厚, 質感帶點棉, 每啖都是油香, 用來送飯的話肯定可以吃上兩大碗! 而臘腸沒有坊間一般吃到的那麼硬實, 帶點鬆化感, 吃起來帶點嚼勁, 雖然不是我最愛, 但肯定是這裡的水準的確不錯!

其實這裡的喳咋也是招牌美食, 是我媽最愛的. 不過這晚嘗了杯小的, 感覺配料雖然仍是一貫的多, 但水份好像多了, 吃起來沒那麼濃稠. 所以宅女的喳咋排行榜這裡的未必能佔首位了, 暫時仍是佐敦明記跟北角的王記領先一籌.

埋單每人才HKD$30左右, 當然只是半飽, 但正好便填滿了我們本來半飽的肚子了.
食物水準比起以前來說感覺退步了少許, 不過大致味道仍是相當不俗的, 尤其糯米飯是絕對要一試.
雖然像這種家庭式經營的小店, 眼看一年真的加價數次, 但想一想在地產霸權當道的時勢下, 要生存也是沒辦法的事.
老實一句, 如果小店不是加得太利害, 宅女仍會是樂意去光顧, 起碼小店雖然加價, 但食物吃到的每一啖都是心機和心血.

另一碗是喳咋,配料十足,麥米、眉豆、紅豆、綠豆及芋頭,亦是花時間煮至開花及軟綿,每搯一下,都是滿滿的材料,加點花奶,更添滑溜的口感,難怪每晚都吸引這麼多街坊。

隨著社會發展,租金人工的飆升,能掙的利錢有多少? 看著西環附近的舊店,正在一間又一間消失,回憶........他朝就只餘下回憶!

The plain glutinous rice were sauteed and well cooked with a good stickiness. Well-coated with a layer of oil, probably owed to the fatty pork belly pieces among the generous ingredients, and the essentials from the sausages, it was sinfully good. The plain Chinese sausages were fragrant and had the right mix of lean and fatty meat. The continuous stirring by the server ensured that every rice grain received the sufficient amount of heat and moisture, for an even coating and uniform texture across. Some spring onions enhanced the fragrance with a light crunch and it was certainly mouth-watering to say the least.

This was pretty much the same as the plain version, just that a liver sausage was offered instead of the normal plain ones tried. It was darker in terms of colour and had a stronger flavour and preference would be subject to personal tolerance. Personally, I would go for the plain version, but this tasted equally good.

The rice pastry rolls are not of high quality as compared to that in Sham Shui Po, however, pan frying will elevate them to another level. The dish that I had that day was not nicely cooked, or else the crispy skin, sweet sauce, sesame sauce and sesame mixed would be heavenly good.

I doubt if the rice was “wok” fried from raw, however, every grain was just cooked perfectly. The soy sauce didn’t make it too salty. One of the best pick in winter though a bit pricey for a small bowl.

The price is up from $15 months ago (and so are the other food). This is also my take away dessert when I drop by before returning home. I love the barley inside and the milky texture, not too sweet. Will taste even better if ginkgo nuts are added.

七月下旬‧晴這裡是灣仔區非常經典的吃宵夜聖地,三檔原本二十年前在馬師道轉角擺賣的車仔檔原車入檔,食物有水準而且食客者眾。每年都會放暑假,今年又回來了。在幾款食物中最喜歡煎腸粉,腸粉原本只是普通不過的交來貨色,猛火快煎令外皮帶點微脆的口感。灑上芝麻再加醬油,還有少不了的「甜辣麻」三醬,簡單好吃。再來一碗凍腐竹糖水,就是炎夏最佳夜宵之選。

魚蛋很實,只靠醬汁的味道,很一般。豬皮是淋的,亦是一般而已。

話說回來,雖然糯米飯是好吃,但店內檯椅和餐牌都是有點黏黏的,感覺並不是太好。我想這裡試過就算或最多買外賣帶走。
