I decided to bring my wife to a Japanese restaurant for lunch today. I did some research and found out that there is a Japanese restaurant opened not long ago and already had several good comments. Michi Japanese Cuisine was located at Jardine Center, couple of minutes walk from Causeway Bay MTR.They have 3 types of lunch menu, sushi/sashimi set, omogamama and wafu rice set. The price ranged from $168 to $238. In the end, i decided to go for omogamama lunch set. It consisted of assorted sashimi
They have 3 types of lunch menu, sushi/sashimi set, omogamama and wafu rice set. The price ranged from $168 to $238. In the end, i decided to go for omogamama lunch set. It consisted of assorted sashimi, a dish, rice or udon, salad, egg custard, miso soup, dessert and coffee or tea.
Salad - It was quite special as it was sweet purple potato salad. There was real sweet potato meat in it and was mashed till soft and meaty. It was sweet as well. Salad was fresh and crunchy.
Egg custard - It was steamed till hot and steamed egg was very soft and smooth, almost melting in my mouth. There were mushroom and gingko nut in it as well.
Squid sashimi was smooth and chewy, and was shiny white in color. Giant shrimp sashimi was very fresh, able to taste the juiciness and chewy.
Inaniwa udon - The soup was sweet and clear, with no MSG in it. Udon was very chewy and smooth, like biting on chewing gum.
Grilled silver cod with miso paste - Grilled silver cod was very tasty and sweet in taste. It was soft and smooth, melting in my mouth. The edges of the skin was crispy and charred. The fish goes well with the mayo sauce provided.
Miso soup - It was tasty and served warm, with the beancurd soft and smooth.
Chocolate ice cream was served hard, and was sweet. It has strong chocolate taste as well.
Iced yuzu with honey - It was sweet and clear, refreshing as well. Yuzu meat was sweet and sour, cut into mini bits.
