雖然是地鋪,但這幾年間未曾在食店裡見到大蟑螂而又行得那麼近,嚇得我什麼胃口都沒了。
到現在想起都有點驚!

My wife has been here before and said it was good, but it was my first time here.There was a queue outside (which is a good sign!) and the turn-over seemed quite good so we waited. We were told 15 minutes wait.We got a table by the front window.we ordered:Spring Rolls: - Crepes Saigon: - The pancakes had a distinct but subtle taste of curry. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I ordered a coke which didn't arrive, but that was ok as I just drank the water that was provided. (It wasn't on the bill)

The environment was a little noisy as the tables are squeezed closely together... Not good for a romantic dinner- at least, where we were sitting. Also, the A/C was on high so it was cold when we sat down. I asked them to turn it down, which they did.

When I paid I was pleasantly surprised at the bill... less than $275.

I would certainly recommend it. Enjoy!

Everyone picked a dish and I picked my favourite and what I always order when I come here – the pomelo salad with prawn skewers. I love this dish and I believe they make it well! We thought we would order a couple of dishes and share between the 4 of us. Everyone picked a dish and I picked my favourite and what I always order when I come here – the pomelo salad with prawn skewers. I love this dish and I believe they make it well! I am not sure how ‘authentic’ this dish is but it’s absolutely delicious! Fresh pomelo (and LOTS of it), cucumbers, fried onions and cashew nuts. It’s absolutely light and refreshing. The prawns are skinless making it easier to eat.

We ordered beef pho and I have to admit, it’s not too bad at all. The beef was tender and soup flavourful with lots of mint. The mint leaves definitely gave it a nice aroma and flavour. I am no pho expert, so will have to take Hubby here and see if he thinks it’s the ‘best’ pho.

The braised pork belly in coconut juice was fantastic – but then again, I am a sucker for pork, especially braised pork belly! This is a winter, comfort food! The pork belly was tender and succulent; the soup which consisted of coconut juice was sweet and full of flavour. It was delightful and one I truly enjoyed.

Grilled pork with cold vermicelli – I am not a huge fan of cold noodles so didn’t really enjoy this dish. There’s something about cold vermicelli that I don’t like, I can’t put my finger on it. The grilled pork was succulent, and that’s probably the only thing that I like. The other diners seemed to have enjoyed it though.

到芽莊吃午飯,雖然知道牛肉河粉的湯底很正,不過因為天氣持續炎熱,吃熱湯麵好像有點自討苦吃,所以就要了個燒蝦撈檬,加蝦多士一客。燒蝦撈檬要一會兒才上桌,一大碗透明檬粉上面放着燒蝦兩大隻,賣相十分吸引。在拌勻魚露後,檬粉能夠將酸汁掛住,所以味道很均勻,粉本身不會太粗,又夠彈牙,很是不錯。燒蝦燒得入味又惹味,不過肉質有點太實,是用雪藏貨的關係吧,不過在一碗粉只是四十多元的前提下,其實已經很不錯。蝦多士即叫即焗熱辣辣的,一客有五件,將蝦肉打碎再釀在法飽上面。蝦肉十分彈牙,充滿鮮味,不過如果點些魚露吃會更加惹味;法飽的質感緊密但不會硬,烘得脆脆的很好吃。不過因為澱粉的關係吃兩件已經很飽肚,建議多人叫一個來分享。這裡的東西不會太貴,味道又好,難怪客人不斷了。

上一次lunch經過此店時就想來光顧一次,皆因我一看見越南粉就會想試。今日就特地lunch time趕去,急急地叫了一碗生牛肉湯河,$42也不算便宜。在中環吃心頭好有時候就要捨得花費。落單後即要求侍者一樽鹹魚露以備不時之需,他亦隨即連青檸及辣椒也送到我面前,是很闊綽的半個青檸。不需一刻,生牛肉湯河即到。面頭有九層塔,生洋蔥,半熟的牛肉片,還有少量蔥絲。習慣先觀察湯,清澈的。再喝湯,牛骨味魚露味尚算足夠,難得不用再加鹹魚露,頗滿意,但覺牛骨味可更濃。我碗裏的牛肉片有部份是帶脂肪的,所以挺滑身而且脂香豐腴。河粉也是剛熟,直到我吃完的那刻仍未變糊口。芽菜也夠鮮,無苦澀味。稍嫌不夠生洋蔥及碗底的芽菜不夠多,只有幾條吃得不夠過癮。匆匆吃完一大碗,連加一共付$46。尚算滿意的一頓午餐,但仍認為此生牛肉河可變更好。

beef - very fresh
soup - very strong beef favour
i added lime and chilli so it was extra tasty

我:(丫,又話好無禮貌既???咁都叫無禮貌??幾好添喎我覺得...)唔...好啦!就咁決定啦,唔該晒你!

食物陸續到來,唉,真是難怪呢間野排長龍,又真係幾好食既,唯一要彈彈的是河粉的質地怪怪的...可能是小弟未食過正宗的吧,但其他食物真是一流,那個牛油雞翼,牛油香氣濃郁,又是剛炸好熱辣辣,真是食過返尋味架。涼拌茄子就當然好吃了,每件茄子上有半隻蝦,一堆蔥油(拌撈濛果d呢...)還有乾蔥,一口吃之,百味紛陳,又軟(茄子)又脆(乾蔥)的口感,到底是誰想得到這樣配搭的呀?真要比返幾個叻佢先得喇。
那個釀魷魚嘛...是乾魷魚釀入肉碎(肉碎中也吃得出有土魷的,很鮮味)再慢火烤之,切件即成。不過小弟就不太喜歡這個了...那個乾魷魚筒有點太過煙韌了,趙到牙都軟。不過只是不喜其口感遮,味道都算是很好的。
小插曲:釀魷魚附上綠色醬汁一碟,小弟生平最怕芫茜,所以唯有捉住一位侍應問個清楚,佢都唔識架,不過就好有禮貌地幫我問廚房! 又再一次證明呢間餐廳禮貌都唔係咁差既。

而且食物真是太多,果然食不完...好彩信左先前位呀姐咋。

食飽飽,抬頭一看,仍然是那條長龍排在外頭...又下雨,又排隊,做做好心,快快埋單走人啦~

My friend and I met my mum for lunch on that day. Before half past 12, there were still seats available. Pho is really nice here, and comes in a huge bowl. More than a girl can finish. The soup is so nice. We also tried rice paper roll with fried soft shell crab inside. I like it very much.For drink, we ordered coconuts, which were of very high quality. The price is reasonable, and the menu offers enough choices.No wonder so many people there during lunch time!

my dad loves the beef noodles in nha trang and we visit this restaurant frequently from time to time. last sunday we decided to walk all the way from our place to here for lunch. i was not feeling too hungry so i ordered a pan hoi with herbs and veggies while my dad ordered a beef noodles, my ma a beef flank noodles, together with a 'ging fun guen' and a shrimp rice paper roll to share.

the appetizers came first and i felt the ricepaper roll was very suitable with the fish sauce. being thin and a little chewy, the ricepaper rolled in the shrimp which tasted refreshing perfectly-a good treat in a hot summer afternoon! but one problem was that the chopped noodles fell off too easily and it was quit messy to eat.

the big bowls of noodles came next. my dad and ma seemed to enjoy them a lot so i think they must taste pretty good.

my plate of 'pan hoi' came last, pipping hot. having no idea how to eat the 'pan hoi' i just put the herbs and 'pan hoi' on a piece of lettuce, sprinkle on some fish sauce and shove the whole thing into my mouth. it tasted a big bald no doubt as there was no meat and whatsoever but herbs and veggies.

the environment was nice although customers kept coming in. the staff were busy but very friendly;they moved with such confidence and gusto! their politeness is also remarkable.

講返食物:

生熟牛肉粉:可能心情有影響,普通啦…無女朋友講到咁好味。

另一種牛肉粉:唔記得叫乜名,係個menu既底部,女朋友話唔好食。

軟殼蟹卷:好味,但係可能其他料太濕,好快就唔脆。

釀魷魚:叫錯左,因為完全啖啖肉,係可以送到飯既啖啖肉!但係最後先上,見到已經飽左。

總評:

味道:okay 啦!
環境:人太多,好迫!
服務:真係一個個,我見大部分其他侍應都好好態度。
衛生:無留意,應該okay既!
抵食:中環咁既價錢,okay 啦!但係我會期望服務再好d lor。

Another year has come by and this year the girls are old enough to give me presents. So we went to celebrate at one of their favourite restaurants, Nha Trang, the Central branch. We ordered some drinks, salted lemon sodas and iced lime tea.
We had Pho, the dish we have every time and the soup is rich and hot, full of flavour. The noodles and beef were just as nice
We had my daughter's favourite spring rolls and soft shell crab rice rolls. The rice rolls were good but thought the spring rolls could have been more crispy.
The mango salad was a disappointment and we must have been thinking of mango salad made the Thai way. This one had thin slices of mango but most of it was shredded cucumber and beansprouts with very little dressing and some very hard pieces of squid, should have gone for the pomelo salad which is a sure bet.
The best dish however was the sizzling Saigon crepe. This was made with lentil flour, fried and has pork, shrimps, bean sprouts and cooked with a light curry sauce. It is a very unusual dish and the tastes and textures came together very nicely.
It was a lovely lunch and we would always remember only to come to this Central branch.
