nearly every shop closes on new year's day so it's typically hard for us to find a decent restaurant in wan chai. luckily we've spotted samsen near the blue house and had a very delightful family meal.

𝗪𝗮𝗴𝘆𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲 has a super thicckk and rich broth with assorted herbs and spices, there were multitudes of miniature meatballs which were so juicy 🤤 my dad had high comments on the wagyu, he said that he could differentiate the wagyu slices w/ other restaurants clearly since they were much more beefy than the rest. tang of the broth was greatly absorbed by the thin rice noodles and the pork rinds and watercress added extra texture to the whole bowl, this bowl is simply delicious and rich in flavour! 🌟

𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗯 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 wasn't oily compared to most of the restaurants, it was super appetizing, the lime juice made it extra zesty and the crab meat wasn't those fake 蟹柳. you don’t feel fooled with its contents!

𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻, a surprising side ordered by my dad. i can tell that they were much thinner than market ones. it was delicately spiced and crispiness was all the way! it’s good for asmr-tists because every piece does make a sharp crunch!

surely we have to keep the streak going and here is the famous 𝗰𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 to wrap up our cny lunch. not only the coconut ice cream was full-flavoured, it surprisingly harmonizes with all the toppings very well ⚡️ at first i thought that sweet corn and coconut ice cream is a no-no but nooo it turned out so well and the whole thing was creamy and heavenlyyyy 🥥

in 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹, i think our opinions were unanimous that all the dishes are exclusive, so newfangled and up to standards. i’m definitely going to try out their new dishes in the 𝖲𝗁𝖾𝗎𝗇𝗀 𝖶𝖺𝗇 𝖻𝗋𝖺𝗇𝖼𝗁 soon,, no kidding, this was a fantastic experience for me except for the packed environment in the wan chai branch.
