是夜與一行4人老朋友聚會, 約在此飯聚。 這裡川菜不錯 ,改良傳統川菜提高了餐廳的格調, 而且跟裝潢設計環境配, 因此外國食客也較多。 看見茶水也較特別, 顯然花過功夫考慮。 但問題是伙記們不太友善, 主觀感覺到他們的黑面 (就算在沒有麻煩到他們的情況下也是如此) , 而且在坐著等候朋友的時間內 , 不停的問酒杯是否不要然後想收走, 其實我們每次都說人齊先點紅酒....... 如果那麼緊張紅酒杯, 倒不如人客點了紅酒才上杯吧, 因為問的太多了, 但黑面的為何是侍應們而不是每問每答的人客呢?

However, you get what you pay for -- excellent service, exquisitely prepared dishes, "fine-dining" ambience and, of course, good, solid regional cooking. Sichuan House caters to a younger, chic-er crowd than that other old Sichuanese standby -- San Xi Lou in the mid-levels -- but the menu is comparable. Definitely worth a try.

Firstly the price of lunch special has increased to 158, but except one tofu main option everything else is +20 or +30. I ordered the chicken, which was delicious but portion size has dramatically reduced with bony inedible nuggets accounting for most of the bites (more than 70%). The dessert of the day was a watery cold dish, far cry from the desserts that this place offered sometime ago. Most annoyingly, they charged me 15hkd for the (seemingly complementary) tea offered, which I didn't even order, nor had any sign or prices to let the customer know it will be charged (used to be complementary earlier). So my lunch special came out to be 212 HKD for a few bites of chicken. Needless to say that I am pissed at Sichuan House for its focus on bottom line at the expense of the dining experience. So long Sichuan House, it was nice to be your friend. Not coming back.

好鐘意食呢個辣既菇,平時好多時前菜會系d辣豆腐乾之類既小食,但菇就比豆腐乾多左一個口感,比較彈牙,辣度亦都適中。酸蘿蔔無乜特別,開胃甘囉。

呢個菜式其實我比左好多次機會佢,但始終唔鐘意食。可能所有涼粉都系一夾即碎吧,仲切得甘幼,真係好難handle。辣醬味道普通,但總覺得同涼粉好似你還你我還我甘,夾唔埋一齊。

主菜 - 成都鮮花椒煮本地肥牛
個樣有d似水煮魚,不過好似無水煮魚甘辣。d牛肉麻麻地,好普通,似有落過粉個種。金菇依然甘入味。雖然呢個好似同水煮魚相類同,但真係差好遠,下次一定要叫返魚先。

We went here for a birthday meal excited to try expensive spicy food seeing as I had only ever eaten it dirt cheap when I lived in Hunan province.I rarely eat at expensive (ish!) places so had high hopes but it was... alright.We ordered the pork jowl first and that was probably the best dish, sweet and spicy. The dan dan noodles were also delicous but I've eaten better at $50- $100 restuarants. The cucumber from the snacks section of the menu was also tasy but thinking back couldn't be worth $58

We ordered the pork jowl first and that was probably the best dish, sweet and spicy. The dan dan noodles were also delicous but I've eaten better at $50- $100 restuarants. The cucumber from the snacks section of the menu was also tasy but thinking back couldn't be worth $58.
We also had the bonless chicken. Not many chickens were harmed in the making of this dish, it was actually small pieces of fried chicken with dried chillies. The chicken really did take on the spices though and each piece was really flipping hot by the end.
The wontons were a little dissapointing as the peanut sauce was so thick and claggy. If HK style wontons in peanut butter are your thing maybe you'd enjoy it more.

Also, am I right to be peeved about this? They were playing such naff outdated pop music, Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis? Could they not find anything better? Also we were charged for tea which was already poured. Restaurants are still doing this? I didn't realise.
