The Tasty Congee & Noodle Wontun Shop is one of the best restaurants in Hong Kong.

My friends told me that it is a terrific restaurant and I should visit there and order the Stir-fried Rice Noodles with Beef. I knew that this is a very famous restaurant in Happy Valley because the Michellin Guide Book and Chua Lan, famous gourmet in Hong Kong, highly recommended.

When I enter into the restaurant with my friend, a waitress appoach us with lovely smile offering me the assistance. She escorts us to a round table and another waitress gives us the menu. My first impression is the staffs who work in there are well trained and the restaurant is very clean. Their Chinese style uniform is quite match with the Chinese decor, it makes me feel very comfortable. They serve us the "HOT" (Very important) Chinese tea and listen to our order carefully.
We order three dishes, Stir-fried Rice Noodles with Beef, House Specialty Wonton Noodles and Fish Slices & Meat Balls Congee,which I think that they are the signature dishes of this restaurant.
The Stir-fried Rice Noodles with Beef - Highly recommended since it is tasty and not greasy.
House Specialty Wonton Noodles - The soup is really good but the Wonton are not large enough.
Fish Slices & Meat Balls Congee - It should be the top ten in Hong Kong

It is comparatively expensive with the same class restaurants but it is worth by spending HK$180.00 for these dishes. The rating of the restaurant I will give 5 stars. You should go and find it out by yourself.

招牌雲吞 - 這裡的車呔推介,人人坐低都叫「細蓉唔該 !」。但由於實在太太太飽了,只好叫一碗剩雲吞淺嚐。這個算合格吧,個人更欣賞銅鑼灣煲呔幫襯的那間雲吞麵店。這裡熱賣都是一些車呔明星效應吧!

在香港吃雲吞面不能不嘗嘗正斗或何洪記吧!最愛吃它的雲吞撈麵,雲吞細細粒,蝦和豬肉比例恰到好處,十分彈牙爽口好味!撈麵加入豬油,蛋麵爽脆之餘沒有鹼水味又不致太硬,那碗韮黃蝦子湯更是一絕,一口麵一口湯,是享受!京都炸醬麵跟京都應該沒什麼關係,辣味很微,也是同類吃過最美味的,但$55一份卻令人咋舌!肉丸魚片粥跟生記等的魚湯粥底又不同,比較重乾榣柱味,肉丸不是一般機制那種,吃到半肥瘦的肉粒,+分有誠意,$44一碗,貴!決定下次再來吃糉和著名的乾炒牛河(待續)

This joint has always been popular. Be it take away or seated, always packed and have a line.Their congee is one of the best ones in HK imo, very 棉 very soft and well flavored.Their noodles are alright, dumplings are well made. However please be warned that their noodles portion is very small given the price. Basically we ordered two "lo mein" and one congee to go, and had to wait in line for 25 minutes!! And only with those 3 things, It was more than $150.... I could get the same things for hal

When we arrived at 12:30pm on a Sunday, I noticed that the Michelin Guide has added this restaurant to its recommended list for 2011.Looking at the menu, I noticed that they had four pages of congee items, the cheapest being $20, and the most expensive at $350! The congee was good!
Just the right amount of salt, and not too watery. The chicken and mushroom were tasty, and the spring onion was a nice touch.

Overall, the food was delicious, with the only disappointment being the Shrimp Dumplings, which had a little burnt after-taste, possibly because it was steamed for too long. The Rice Noodle Roll was very good - the fried dough had the right firmness and the noodle wasn't too heavy. The fried turnip cake was also very yummy, as it had outer crispiness and wasn't too gluey in the middle.

這一頓飯真的叫人吃了都背脊骨落, 今晚原打算與友人到附近的正斗粥麵專家吃頓簡單的晚餐, 但想不到如此的尷尬.我們所點的菜式包括: 及第粥, 炸兩, 正斗雲吞撈麵, 總消費約$150.整頓飯的敗筆就在於女侍應的服務態度, 實在太無禮了! 不知道是在點菜時友人與侍應出了什麼誤會, 可能是炸面和炸兩的問題, 結果來的是油炸鬼, 我們立刻向一女侍應查詢, 並表示我們不是要這個. 可是, 這位女侍應竟一派不滿極不願的質問我們 "咁你叫咩呀!", 我們也無奈地連忙答"我們想叫的是炸兩, 可否更換?", 友人一邊問她, 她頭也不回就走開了. 我們等了一會兒, 其間我們聽到她在四處追問落單的問題, 她又走回來又理直氣壯的放下一句"張單係落炸麵的", 又走開了, 找來落單的阿姐, 又問一次. 天呀, 我們說到底也是客人, 怎麼都變成審犯一般, 那是什麼的服務態度, 令氣氛極度尷尬! 況且我們沒有惡人先告狀, 我們也不知是否言語誤會, 總之我們只想問可否換回炸兩. 要清楚這天是星期一晚, 店內客人根本不多, 有三四張吉枱, 那侍應根本是在行行企企正在吹水, 希望正斗能正視這一點, 服務與食物質素都一樣重要

公平一點, 及第粥是不錯的, 粥底夠棉, 豬潤等爽脆. 但其餘兩樣沒什特色, 水準平平. 尤其以炸兩最失敗, 油炸鬼超油並帶粉
, 外圍的腸粉皮太濕且黏, 連芝麻都沒有(一般街坊粥店都有吧!)價錢卻很貴, 有點名不附實.
正斗的價錢非一般平常粥店的事實相信人所共知, 平常一碟粥也過半百, 走高檔路線...當然物有所值的話是可接受的, 以往我也曾光顧正斗, 但可惜無論食物或服務的質素都在下降, 俾錢買難受的服務真的不值!

1)皮蛋瘦肉粥- 粥杰身,夠綿, 幾濃米香
2)雲吞水餃撈麵- 料幾足, 湯底清, 麵身都夠爽 (但係我地卦住食粥, 個麵凍o左少少)
3) 炸兩- 皮薄, 最緊要係夠熱夠脆!
豉油自己加, 都唔錯

服務:
侍應反應快, 有禮貌, 叫o左幾次加茶都好快幫到手~讚

環境:
坐得舒服, 我地兩個人, 坐四人位, (佢地都係放兩個位, 所以我諗係正常)

星期六,太座與朋友J於銅鑼灣置新裝。及後與筆者會合,一同往跑馬地晚膳,地點正是朋友J屋企附近嘅「正斗」。本地嘅粥麵,以幾家人為首,其後發展出「池記」、「麥奀記」、「何洪記」、「劉森記」等著名粥麵食府,聞說皆各自勝長。月前試過了「劉森記」,筆者覺得其蝦子撈麵水準不過矣矣。今次嚟到「正斗」,當然唔會錯過其出品嘅蝦子撈麵。論其蝦子撈麵,可分幾方面詳談。首先係隨撈麵奉上嘅湯料,入口清甜甘香,唔似有落過味精,相信有落足夠嘅大地魚及豬骨肴製而成,以同樣嘅湯底所泡製嘅牛肉湯麵也非常出色;麵條爽口又彈牙,絕無鹼水味,屬上佳之選;蝦子份量雖然唔慷慨,但充滿蝦子鹹香,只需少許份量,已足夠令平淡嘅麵條生色不少。太座嘅北菇滑雞粥,筆者只嚐了一口而已。但此份量已足夠體會到粥底夠綿之外,雞肉亦很滑。材料亦十足,瑤柱份量不少,令粥品更添香味,為咗令粥底味道更出色,相信小量嘅味精是走不了的。蜆芥炸鯪魚球材料充實,鯪魚肉大幅多於麵粉,所以鯪魚球咬落十分彈牙,放涼之後亦唔會因為麵粉過多而收縮皺皮。出色嘅食物通常都有代價。這裡嘅粥粉麵比一般嘅昂貴,普通一碗粥或麵都要五十蚊先有交易。三個人要二百四十三蚊埋單,平均每人八十一蚊

;麵條爽口又彈牙,絕無鹼水味,屬上佳之選;蝦子份量雖然唔慷慨,但充滿蝦子鹹香,只需少許份量,已足夠令平淡嘅麵條生色不少。

太座嘅北菇滑雞粥,筆者只嚐了一口而已。但此份量已足夠體會到粥底夠綿之外,雞肉亦很滑。材料亦十足,瑤柱份量不少,令粥品更添香味,為咗令粥底味道更出色,相信小量嘅味精是走不了的。

蜆芥炸鯪魚球材料充實,鯪魚肉大幅多於麵粉,所以鯪魚球咬落十分彈牙,放涼之後亦唔會因為麵粉過多而收縮皺皮。

出色嘅食物通常都有代價。這裡嘅粥粉麵比一般嘅昂貴,普通一碗粥或麵都要五十蚊先有交易。三個人要二百四十三蚊埋單,平均每人八十一蚊。價錢是貴了一點,但換來出色嘅美食,也是值得的

昨天晚上去了跑馬地米芝蓮一星粥麵店吃晚飯。 那裡的粥跟腸粉都不錯,可是那碗雲吞麵,應該不是即製的。他們應該是先把麵條煮好,有客人叫的時候把熱湯澆上去,然後上桌。於是,麵條不爽而沒彈性,在碗的底部還結成一餅的形狀,整碗麵的溫度也是溫溫吞吞。而重點是,這碗麵,索價港幣三十五元!在這樣的時勢,賣三十五元一碗非即製雲吞麵的店家,是很有問題吧。這様的雲吞麵還是留待西人同日本人來吃吧。

Mr. Chua Lan, the famous gourmet, once wrote that this place make the best dry fried beef noodle in HK. I have been here before, never tried the noodle, but my impression of other food such as congee was just so-so. Too much MSG. I bought a box for takeaway while my husband was away for business. Once opened, I was already disappointed. Unlike Mr Chua's description, it was very greasy. The taste was just average, and the beef was marinated with soda. It was overprice for such quality. I guess Mr. Chua's noodle must have been specially made for him.
