we walked a long way before discovering that Kimberley Street is a small street off of Kimberley Road! it was already 9:30pm on a Sunday night, and not many restaurants were open, so we decided to try 清溪川. our dining experience at this restaurant was very good! the seats were comfortable and the environment was quiet with a few tables. it's a cozy Korean family restaurant. 前菜dishes included kimchi, spinach, spicy potatoes, turnips, etc. We ordered the dinner set for 3-4, which included 燒牛肋骨,
In my opinion, the 牛肋骨 was not tender (maybe due to overcooking by the server) You could wrap the ribs 牛肋骨 with lettuce, which was very fresh. the ox tongue were a bit too thin but still good. (i suggest cooking the food yourself instead of letting them do it) the fried vermicelli was very good and served in a big portion. the spicy tofu soup was really *very* spicy but tasty.
one thing about the waiter is that he is *not* korean and could only speak English. i think he is tired of people asking him "are you korean?" and thus showed dissatisfaction when we asked him that. but after we found out what nationality he was, he appeared much more friendly. the price was reasonable. i think this restaurant is newly renovated with improved circulation (as u can see from the photo, the entrance looks different now)
