For the money that we have spent vs the service that we received. We would’ve expected much better customer service & experience. What is the meaning of “Omakase”?

An extremely disappointing meal indeed - I’ve always appreciated the Japanese culture, the people, the food quality & the service…..Japanese is known to be very hardworking, diligent, polite but we felt like we couldn’t appreciate any of the above from the Chef last night.

There was no warm welcoming from the chef, no introduction of the menu whatsoever, we were only told that we had to be out by 8:15pm for another table the moment we started eating at 7:00pm.

Acknowledging the fact that we arrived late for our 6:30pm booking due to the unexpected typhoon and we got lost from the MtR station (2 of us arrived at 6:40 & the other 2 followed shortly), hence we were fine to leave by 8:15pm. However that didn’t give the Chef any reasons for such terrible service/ attitude, and equally we, the customers, definitely don’t deserve it. We paid NOT just for the food - that’s how a fine dining restaurant differentiate themselves from some random local food chain.

Towards the end, we were finishing off the main but the chef could NOT wait to serve us the desert - is this the kind of service that we were expecting? Perhaps NOT - not for HKD2200 per person. We asked the Chef if we had to leave by 8:15pm sharp - his response - wells if you had arrived on time you could’ve stayed longer. Yes, we appreciate that we were late as it was pouring rain and we got lost walking up from MTR, but the Chef could’ve told us nicely, sincerely, politely that there was another booking right after us? Just my two-cent, so for the goodies that are considering this restaurant, you may wish to think about quality of service & food - as a customer, would you like to enjoy/ appreciate the end-to-end experience.

I’ve not talked too much about the food as frankly, there isn’t much to talk about - nothing WOW, and perhaps if the Chef had better/ proper introduction perfect we would’ve appreciated the food more?

但呢度擺唔到咁多張相

之後仲有蛋糕一件
不過好普通,唔明點解要擺落menu😂

大隻到好似沙白咁!

不過就相對起其他菜都係普通咗啲
反而甜品好好食

就係糯米糍入面係抹茶朱古力同埋另外嗰件係巨蜂提子
呢個甜品真係有心思既
係令到最後一道菜好圓滿


整體來講
環境舒適
服務殷勤
性價比就一般啦
食物整體來講都係滿意

只係有一啲菜式可以貼近啲香港人口味就好啦

但係都係一間值得推薦嘅Omakase!

We came to this restaurant for a business dinner and what a mistake. As it is expensive omakasan and one has to pay when making the booking! 1. The temperature checker was not working, isn’t it illegal? 2. There was no control on seating capacity and it was full to normal capacity as fat as I can tell. 3. The 2 chefs preparing the food looks professional but they took turns to drop foods, while preparing the abalone dish, the sous chef dropped a piece on the plate by accident and it messed up the sauce already on the plate, rather than changing it, he simply use a paper towel to wipe the abalone and used his finger to “fix”the sauce! 4. The chef drop the lime in front of the customers next to us and it flew onto the floor. 5. While making the handmade desert, he dropped it in the sink and simply picked it up and placed on the plate, for the lady celebrating her birthday! 6. They served the desert at 2015 and the 5 mins later asked us to pay because the 2nd seating comes at 2030. Seafood were fresh but defiantly not worth the money we paid and they don’t care about the customers.

尋晚打電話去book位,話要去落$1888訂,今日就安排公司姐姐攞現金去落訂,門口嘅職員突然話要落$4000訂,跟住喺電話同佢對話,問尋晚明明係講落1888訂金,我剩係俾咗兩千蚊姐姐去落訂......預約時間嗰位阿姨離奇嘅惡劣態度,反怪責我誤會咗佢嘅意思,然後一輪電話嘅挑機,收線之後,同我公司姐姐講...我唔得閒理你地,跟住走咗去連錢都唔收,咁樣嘅服務態度,祝願你哋生意能夠持續興隆。老實說,食餐飯飲埋酒,都唔會預咗係只係用$4000食餐飯。既然門口落Booking嗰位阿姨睇唔起我呢位食客,我就切切實實地叫我身邊嘅朋友唔好去。雖然唔知道你哋嘅嘢食究竟有幾好食,但令人受嗰啖氣確實厲害。

Dinner omakase was good and executed well and the restaurant was cozy. However, it took a while before we were seated and while most of us are on time, we were kept outside for a while. The omakase was good but missing a wow factor, and I was shocked to find out that my partner and myself were still hungry after, so we might not visit in the nearest future. Dinner omakase was good and executed well and the restaurant was cozy. However, it took a while before we were seated and while most of us are on time, we were kept outside for a while. ➥ The clam miso soup was my favourite, followed by Chutoro, Unagi, Sayori Nigiri

Overall only 1.5 hr for omakase was quite rushed and there's not enough time for cake-cutting. I'd rather recommend having lunch there instead but still the interior made me feel like I was away from HK for a while 🍶⠀

Probably came here to Umi with a high expectation....... wish the journey would have been more exciting. Covid, we were the only 2 customers there for lunch, we arrived at noon sharp. Yet chef didn’t seem to be ready. Experienced chef for sure, the salad, the starter, was wonderfully ensemble, the roots and veg are crisp and mmmm sesame-y. We were given a menu that didn’t serve the type of fish available on the day, this was the main disappointment. We felt we were given a second tier treatment.

We were given a menu that didn’t serve the type of fish available on the day, this was the main disappointment. We felt we were given a second tier treatment. How can u have no uni?!?! And the chu-toro looked like akami...... I will say the quality of fish is good, given the price it charged, we wouldn’t be expecting anything less than that. However with this price range Umi might have to step up the game in order to stay in the fierce competition in the sushi industry here in HK.

聽聞呢間餐廳omakase唔錯,所以訂左係度食lunch順便慶祝同事生日,結果貼錢買難受,太失望...由於餐廳只有十個位,我早左三星期訂位包左餐廳,要預先俾晒全數,無得退款。本身訂左12點半,我地早左十五分鐘到,個侍應一見我地早到就黑面,話座位未準備好,唔俾我地入餐廳,趕番我地十個出去,態度極差。之後我地一肚氣準時入番去食飯,佢既食材普通唔算頂級,帶子有腥味,而且廚師全程黑面,令人失望...最過份既係,今次係打算慶祝同事生日,我已經於訂枱時講定會慶生,侍應亦確定左會有蠟燭插在甜品上,我唔放心,食飯前再打去提左餐廳兩次要準備蠟燭。點知最後黑面廚師竟然話無甜品提供,而侍應亦話無蠟燭!Omakase set本身係包左甜品,如果無得提供應該一早通知我地,我地就可以另外安排,最後真係食到一肚氣又受氣。俾左萬幾蚊,換黎咁既體驗,真係好嬲!如果你受得住氣又頂得順廚師侍應一齊黑面既話可以黎食,但要預左貼錢買難受。講真咁既價位係中環有好多選擇,唔好難為自己。

聽聞呢間餐廳omakase唔錯,所以訂左係度食lunch順便慶祝同事生日,結果貼錢買難受,太失望...

由於餐廳只有十個位,我早左三星期訂位包左餐廳,要預先俾晒全數,無得退款。

本身訂左12點半,我地早左十五分鐘到,個侍應一見我地早到就黑面,話座位未準備好,唔俾我地入餐廳,趕番我地十個出去,態度極差。之後我地一肚氣準時入番去食飯,佢既食材普通唔算頂級,帶子有腥味,而且廚師全程黑面,令人失望...

最過份既係,今次係打算慶祝同事生日,我已經於訂枱時講定會慶生,侍應亦確定左會有蠟燭插在甜品上,我唔放心,食飯前再打去提左餐廳兩次要準備蠟燭。點知最後黑面廚師竟然話無甜品提供,而侍應亦話無蠟燭!Omakase set本身係包左甜品,如果無得提供應該一早通知我地,我地就可以另外安排,最後真係食到一肚氣又受氣。俾左萬幾蚊,換黎咁既體驗,真係好嬲!

如果你受得住氣又頂得順廚師侍應一齊黑面既話可以黎食,但要預左貼錢買難受。講真咁既價位係中環有好多選擇,唔好難為自己。

我是吃的中午的特價午餐,888一位。大約有十貫的壽司。用料很用心,有傳統的魚料,也有特別的食材。關鍵是老師傅手法非常好,每一塊都做的很用心。非常值得的一餐,比起香港到處是的壽司店,這一家完全是小本日式經營。我們那天就只有兩位,也得到極其好的待遇。江戶前壽司,吃的就是傳統和師傅的技術,以及店家的用料良心。這一家真的超級棒。店家位置也很好找,荷李活道聚賢居對面。它們家的所有食材都是日本直運,當天吃到了特別的螺肉和紅魚,很是特別。

個人覺得佢的烹煮料理比壽司好食。飲過最正嘅麵豉湯,同埋好掂嘅海膽。

一上來先是一碗黑松露飯,飯在石鍋裡面,正好分出兩份,再由師傅刨上新鮮的黑松露。這道黑松露的味道確實濃郁,不過香氣不足,可能跟飯的溫度有關。米飯口感較酸,整體偏溫,沒有熱氣騰騰的感覺,所以帶不出黑松露的香氣。

chutoro 還有otoro一起上,chutoro真的是人間美味,雖然只是中肥,但已經是入口即化。Otoro肥膩的口感在,但口味異常清爽,原本不是特別喜歡otoro 的我,也愛不釋手。

最後是草莓mochi和綠茶巧克力,草莓mochi是師傅在板前親手製作的,將整個草莓和醬包裹於mochi片中,吃起來mochi皮很薄,草莓肥美多汁,很甜。搭配的兩塊綠茶巧克力很像royce生巧克力的味道,非常棒。全世界吃過這麼多著名的鮨店,確實第一次遇到在板前親手現場製作甜品的師傅,留下了非常深刻的印象。
