Tasted Jacky Yu's "私房菜" before. We found that dishes are unique, ingredients are special, taste is outstanding. Outlook and presentation is modern.Learnt that he opened a restaurant at Wanchai. I am eager to try. We ordered a few dishes same as the ones in Jacky's "私房菜" which are:

Other dishes include:

<柚子沙律>
Rich ingredients but the coconut inside is not fresh, pomelo is not well dashed, and cannot be mixed well. Taste is too mild because of the souces. Overall does not meet expectation.

<豬頸肉>
Over cooked, so make it too dry. Skin is over-burned.

<馬六甲西米>
This one is OK. Syrup is special, it is made from cane sugar.

<上湯溫室豆苗冬瓜>
This one is soso. No expectation and no special.

<湯飯>
This like a fusion dish. It has 油炸鬼, 紫菜, 柴魚, 肉碎, 上湯. 紫菜and soup do not match. Soup taste VERY salty.

Texture is not soft and smooth enough which is the fatal point of pudding.

<榴槤糯米>
This is recommeded, especially if you are into durian. Durian favour is strong enough. Anyway, if the sticky rice hotter is better.

The portion is a bit too small.

Considering what's we've got, i'll say it's overpriced. Not worth for money.

星期六跳完舞,遇上韓國農民及反世貿人士衝激警方。灣仔條街靜哂,行過去囍宴甜藝食D再去睇「如果、愛」。囍宴好冷清。兩人不是太肚餓,叫了:- 胡麻日本溫室蕃茄,胡麻汁非常清新討好。- 梅汁軟殼蟹,蟹有肉,梅汁中和飽濟感,不熱氣。- 朱古力軟心蛋糕,賣相非常討好,十足藝術品,朱古力吃得出是名牌,雪糕味道淡淡,配朱古力很好,但賣$68 ,Munch 的較抵。埋單$200算OK, 食物有水準。

話名叫做甜藝,就不要挑戰佢試埋咸點喇!上星期跟好友專誠去光顧,兩人叫了上海义燒拉麵、青咖哩牛肉、白飯和甜品兩款:黄薑湯丸、香蕉蕉糖燉蛋。服務生甫一放下碗拉麵,便嗅到濃濃“簡”(忘記点寫)水味,麵質是日式超市有售,放在凍櫃的包裝拉麵噢。上海义燒表面有滷水味,肉質瘦且乾。而青咖哩牛肉,有幾片Thai Basil裝飾,味道清淡得很,牛肉是超淋嘅牛腩哩。至於黄薑湯丸,反而不賴,滿有童年回憶:湯丸裡是碎花生、砂糖、糖冬瓜,活像兒時媽媽歲晚包裹嘅油角仔,不過糖水就超辣,可以去“風”!香蕉蕉糖燉蛋有很濃香蕉味,懷疑加進化學香味,而蛋則很滑溜、焦糖也甘香。若然有下次,頂多試試其他甜品,在外吃過正餐才去。

2005年10月9日游完水決定獨闖灣仔覓食,本想到蝦麵店,但沒開門。來到這店已差不多兩點半,一個人坐了張四人檯,點了大蝦柚子沙律。隔壁檯來了一男一女,兩個人坐兩人位,好似有點兒擠,令我有點不好意思,後來無意中望一望,那個男的原來是張永霖先生﹗他似乎頗欣賞這兒的菜式,頻讚好味。大蝦柚子沙律($68) - 賣相精美,大蝦(一隻)煎得香脆。柚子肉好清甜份量好多,加上少許果仁碎椰絲碎和泰式酸汁,醒胃,不錯。抵唔抵食﹖好見仁見智,不過都想下次和X2來吃晚飯,試多幾味余先生曾在電影節目中示範的華梅花雕雞,燒豬頸肉等等,小頭也像其他人一般是信名牌的。

Environment is good!Food is good! Didn't try all. All chef reccomendation are good.Drinks are a bit expensive. If the price is not expensive, I would order it. They don't serve tea to customer as well, just water. It gives me an impression to "force" you to order drinks. I don't like that. Chinese food without Chinese tea in a Chinese restaurant???? I don't like that. You know Chinese food is oily. Hope the owner consider this.

(13/7/05)嚟試下哩間"明星"開嘅店。裝修係落左心機嘅, 所以感覺幾舒服。哩度除甜品外, 仲有主食。但同好朋友食完飯, 所以只order甜品。私房豆腐雪糕榴槤汁, 個豆腐雪糕真係自家製, 因為幾淡味, 唔似平時食的百福豆腐味。所以配個榴槤簡直搶晒, 因為個榴槤汁真係好真材實料!石榴子玉露, 好粟米味, 石榴子好像珍多冰的啫喱, 好煙un, 幾得意。但整體嫌太稀。羊毛出在羊身上, 地段、裝修、手工、用料, 也是上品, 價錢自然貴, 所以來試一兩次無防!

又一次聚會,由於遲到,咸點大部份食完,唯有等甜品時間.果果老師說一定要試下個蕃茄.果然"正"!! 如小孩拳頭大的日本溫室蕃茄,起了皮,灑上特別的胡麻醬汁.細味時帶有一點辣的刺激.原來加了wasabi, 正好和香甜的蕃茄來一個對比.甜點亦送上了腰果糊,杏汁南瓜露,還有石榴雪榚,香蕉雪榚同豆腐雪榚.........我比較鐘意石榴雪榚,帶一點酸,很醒神.

可能真係要遲一點才會再好一點。

經過上次miss搞囍宴私房菜後,今次再o黎搞次囍宴甜品。因為私房菜的每道菜式都好有驚喜,所以對今次抱有不少期望。除了飲品,咸甜品的款式不算太多,一共30款左右,有幾款還在私房菜出現過,我o地差不多試均所有品種。而我最推介係擔擔冷麵,雖然醬汁略少,但係麵身好彈牙,好少食到咁好食的麵身。秘制鎮江骨係第二推介,相買有點似豬腳薑,炆得好入味,但肉質又不會過腍。胡麻日本蕃茄有私房菜水準,芥辣與麻醬混埋一起,味道唔會過濃,感覺清新。炒XO蘿蔔榚,平時唔多食炒蘿蔔榚的我,我都忍不住食了兩件,雖然XO醬味較淡,但蘿蔔榚沾了蛋醬一起炒,所以特別香口。口水雞與秘制凍豆腐,較私房菜遜色,口水雞唔夠麻辣,雞肉亦不夠滑。而豆腐的肉鬆蝦米同汁料的配料較少,唔能夠送晒整件豆腐。炭燒豬頸肉mune上寫係廚師推介,我個人應為肉質同味道是一般。終於輪到甜品上場,我試晒石榴、香蕉同豆腐雪榚,始終係石榴味道愛大家歡迎,有種淡淡清香的石榴味,豆腐味尚可,而香蕉雪榚雖有好濃烈的香蕉味,但味道好甜。其次欣賞的係腰果露,夠香夠滑,與我星期日去北角翠苑的腰果露真是比無可比。單睇菜牌的款式品種,可能會感覺不值,但其品質絕不馬虎,我應為價
