We have been meaning to go to Ramen Champion for a while and, after researching the six vendors at the Jordan branch, decided on Bishamon Zero.
Bishamon Zero does a miso ramen, but cooks chicken in the broth to enrich it. The ramen is served with pork, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, seaweed, a blob of spicy sauce and a perfectly cooked egg.
We ordered the couples set and got two bowls of the signature ramen along with some gyoza. The gyoza were good and made a nice accompaniment to the exellent ramen.
The ramen lived up to the hype and was really good. The broth was salty and rich with a great mouth feel. The noodles were chewy in the best way - cooked just right; not too soft and not too tough. The pork was tasty, but the egg stole the show. The yolk was a thing of beauty. It was soft, but thick and not too runny. All together, the bowl of ramen reached close to perfection.
The service was swift and for 180 dollars for the two bowl and gyoza set, it was a great deal. We will certainly try the other ramen joints at Ramen Champion, but they will have to be pretty great to beat Bishamon Zero.
