Our usual dim sum place was full, so we drove to Wan Chai to see what we could possibly have for lunch. We were planning to go to a kebab place, but it was not opened. I then noticed there was a Tsui Wah right beside the kebab stall. Is it just me or is Tsui Wah popping up everywhere? The outside looked quite classy for a Tsui Wah, and I always love coming to this place for slightly overpriced local food. We entered the restaurant and were ushered upstairs. The restaurant chain is really starting to go for a more modern feel, which I appreciate greatly. Once we were seated comfortably in a booth, we proceeded to peruse the menu and then placed our orders.

This dish was served hot. The portion appeared much smaller than in the other Tsui Wah Restaurants. The soup was definitely over-seasoned. The ham was cold and quite fatty. The toast was really small, but the eggs were cooked very well. This dish came within two minutes of placing our order, which is what I call speedy service.

This dish was served hot. Once again the portion was tiny in comparison to the other Tsui Wah Restaurants. The soup was was only a little bit over-seasoned this time. The shredded pork was very fat. This dish took five minutes to come, which I would still consider very speedy service.

This is one of Tsui Wah's all time most popular dishes. The portion was tiny, however the bun was very crispy. My dad commented that it was not up to it usual standard, but liked how they did not douse the bun in condensed milk. The amount was just right.

I always order this, as it is one of my all time favourite dishes. The dish was steaming, and when I put a bite to my mouth, it was too hot. That is a very good sign. There were more ingredients then usual, which I liked very much. The noodles were fried perfectly and the portion although it appeared smaller, was actually larger than at other Tsui Wah Restaurants. My only complaint was that there was too much sauce, and it was more viscous than usual, I prefer it slightly thicker.

This was a huge disappointment. As a classic Tsui Wah dish, I believe the standard of this pineapple bun was appalling to say the least. First, it was not hot. Secondly, the top of the pineapple bun was not crisp at all. With that being said, when I finally proceeded to bite into the bun, it was not warm, or tender, and I felt really disappointed. I think if this branch is to survive, the pineapple bun must be improved to meet the high quality standards set at this restaurants other establishments. Otherwise, the reputation of Tsui Wah in my mind will drop many points.

Luckily, the milk tea was not a disappointment. A classic, and a definite must have. What really added value to this simple local drink was the presentation and the choice of cups to serve it in. Hot, yummy, rich, soothing goodness.

The overall dining experience was pleasant. It was not crowded at all, probably because it was only 11:00am on a Sunday morning. I am delighted that there is now a Tsui Wah in Wan Chai, as it is less crowded then Causeway Bay and Central. However, the quality at this branch is much lower than the other eateries. Maybe, this place still needs a little bit more time to get into the swing of things, but I'm not sure I will be returning here in the near future. I will, however be paying the Tsui Wah in Causeway Bay a visit to restate my confidence in this restaurants pineapple bun.

题外话/补充资料: For first time diners, it may be useful to know that it is customary to bring the bill downstairs to pay. I would also recommend going on a Sunday morning as there will be less people, however if you want an authentic Tsui Wah experience, then you have to go at lunch time on a business working day. It is great that there is now a Tsui Wah in Wan Chai near the bars, a good place to sober up after a good night out at the nearby bars and clubs.

先來的奶茶不錯只可惜攤凍了一點熱度不夠,接著來的炒蛋及牛油豬仔包味道都還不錯,牛油豬還是真的香脆。沙嗲牛肉麵熱騰騰的來了,牛肉醃得鬆軟沙嗲也夠味道。

It was tasteless and needed condiments, it tasted like McDonalds scrambled egg.
I was really disappointed with the egg because other places such as fairwood the egg tastes nice without salt.
Baked beans:
Just the usual baked beans but definately not the Heinz brand.
Fish cutlet:
The fish was nice and tender however it was slighty over fried.
Pumpkin:
The pumpkin was not soft enough and sweet.
Crispy bun:
This was something I liked because the bun was not sweet and it was buttered.
Sauce:
I thought it was salad cream but it turned out to be Japanese mayonnaise which saved the tasteless egg.

同朋友來附近開會,結束時已經好晚,大家個肚都打晒鼓,於是迫不及待地找個坐得舒適的地方食d野。呢間翠華剛剛開,裝修都幾好,冷氣又足,所以就這裡啦!由於已經過左10點,所以不想食得太heavy,剛入座就見到個餐牌上寫左有幾款低脂健康推薦。見到低脂吞拿魚潛艇,$29,抵食又健康,就佢啦!估唔到都真係幾好味wor!個包好軟,中間的炒蛋白都好滑,吞拿魚應該係罐頭野,不過都ok啦!食完一個都有d飽肚,但是卻唔洗擔心卡路里超標。推薦推薦!

回正題。我心想:奶油豬$9,那咖啡是多少呢?可是我翻遍桌上的餐牌都找不到答案。

此時向身旁的阿姐招手,問她我一會兒一共要付多少錢。可是見她也不太清楚,然後就手忙腳亂的在翻我桌上的餐牌,一邊說:「奶油豬$16,咖啡就...」然後她就向旁邊的哥仔求助:「咖啡幾多錢?」但見哥仔都呆了一下,我心中就只有無奈。香港街坊茶記的老伙計不就是精明能幹好記性的嗎?怎麼連鎖茶餐廳的伙計反而不及他們呢?是我的要求太高嗎?此時貌似是伙計主管的阿姐見狀,立刻拉走呆了的阿姐和哥仔。一分鐘後「伙伴主管」回頭告知這杯「招牌咖啡」一杯$19大元

也真的貴了一點吧?很無奈,但只能怪自己沒有先問價錢才叫咖啡。但這麼重要的餐飲價錢,不是應該清楚明白地放在每張桌子上嗎?為甚麼要收起來呢?

心中納悶,但此時食物送上來,就快快開動。

這是脆嘩奶油豬,樣子與我在分店吃到的是一樣。這是「奶油多」的變種,將多士轉換成更脆口的豬仔包。普通的豬仔包密度高,成品較硬,但翠華的脆豬卻有改良過,即使烘過後,質地仍然是很鬆軟的。

可是一拿上手,卻心知不妙-怎麼豬仔包外表凍凍的,又軟軟的不挺身?我就立刻聯想到,廚房為了快快出餐,所以將脆豬求求其其烘過就算數。所以這份奶油豬,就只有其味而沒其形-咬下去,是軟腍腍的;脆豬完全不脆,反倒是有點煙韌。很失望,更遑論有勝香園「卡嚓」那一煞的快感。

也許你會覺得我要求過高。是的,我承認我的舌頭已被勝香園寵壞了。但兩者價錢相同,再者,對連鎖餐廳信心和期待高一點也是很合理的吧?吃過銅鑼灣和中環翠華出品的,素質及格,沒有理由這裡的卻是一敗塗地吧?

鬧完奶油豬,繼續要鬧這杯「招牌咖啡」。其實啡味尚算香濃,只是我不認為店方將理應加入的牛奶,變換成忌廉 (Cream)就喚作「招牌」,然後收取$19大元吧?誠然,牛奶的香酥味是加強了不少,只是我覺得這是非常的不健康和不正宗,價錢亦不合理。

呀,又,忽然想起,另一連鎖茶記太興的「招牌咖啡」好像都是如此味道...

食完都Cashier買單,放下$28,心卻不甘。我寧願去樓下的茶記食仲好。$28,早就有一份豐富的炸魚柳多士炒蛋餐,仲有$1找換。

所以嘛,如果想食奶油豬,大家識得去邊度搵了吧?

肉醬意粉 - 份量真的很輕盈,味道ok。

炒蛋白:我係為左個蛋白先叫呢個餐,結果好難食,係無味兼且係凍的,完全食唔出係炒的感覺,同白灼無咩分別,仲要好鞋口又無蛋香味...唔知佢想點...


豬仔包又細又凍又硬...一d都唔脆...要好用力用牙扯開佢先食到...以前我很喜歡呢到ge奶油豬...但呢個蒜香的...令我完全改觀。


最差ge係服務

1. 點菜ge時候同事唔知佢可以揀紅湯(因為個餐牌係寫明忌廉湯),問多句都俾個帶有普通話口音的阿姐鬧
2. d餐具有飯粒黏晒係到都扮見唔到,叫佢換又扮聽唔到,要我地自己去拎
3. 叫佢俾杯水又扮聽唔到,望下我就行左去...要我地自己去拎...
4. 落單果個阿姐是但執d唔啱用的餐具俾我地,我地4個人都食意分,佢俾左兩枝叉同兩隻食米線用ge spoon...
5. 食完d野又唔執...搞到無地方放其他野食...之後我地聽到另一個阿姐用普通話教訓落單個阿姐,個阿姐仲唔理佢...

我唔明點解咁ge食物質素同埋服務都可以令佢ge分店開到周圍都係,雖然你係茶餐廳,但睇你ge價錢同埋裝修應該係想扮高檔,雖然你唔收加一,但唔代表你可以鬧或者扮睇唔到食客。我唔會再黎貼錢買難受。

仲有...明明之前有3個食評,一個笑, 一個ok, 一個喊...點解上面個總評分果到只有兩個ok?煩請跟進。謝謝。
题外话/补充资料: 店內有d位比較冷,建議著多件衫,同埋請大家唔好expect有服務。第一次遇到d咁差ge服務...

灣仔翠華走高檔茶餐廳路線,價錢在同區稍貴,但座位寬闊舒適而取勝。今天再來試她的午餐,三人坐下,要午餐,服務員說:只有一款,貼在牆上,請自己看!真的,午餐就只有豬扒飯套餐一種。我們有兩個要了套餐,另一個朋友要了牛筋麵。服務員說:只有牛筋腩麵,沒有牛筋麵。朋友說:牛筋腩麵飛了牛腩,就係淨牛筋麵。服務員說:好麻煩,廚房未必做。倖倖而去。終於牛筋麵上來,樣子尚可,但味精極重。我們的套餐,湯可選,各來一紅一白,即一個羅宋湯,一個忌廉湯。湯、乏善可陳。豬扒飯量尚可,味道也一般。奶茶稍濃而苦澀,缺少細滑。凍檸茶也是一般。可能我們在正午,人逼時間來,而且叫普通餐飲,所以不能奢望,肯定沒什麼睇頭吧。

Previously this used to be Uno-Mas and Piel de Toro downstairs but now TW has taken over !!!Sad to see them go!Anyway it really stands out on this side of Lockhart road especially being a Chinese cuisine amongst the pubs and international restaurants!!Luckily their usual Chinese corporate appearance has been toned down with dark windows and dark theme to match the glamourity of Lockhart Road.My only reason for dining here was just curiosity to see how they converted Uno-Mas into TW!!Anyway, insi

Anyway, inside its much the same, the menu is the same which was dissappointing, I was hoping for some high end stuff like how Arome bakery has taken it to the next level with Arome bakery room in North point.
As the interior is slightly different to their other branches, they should have some exclusive dishes that are only served at this branch.

Since I have not visited TW in ages they now have this barcoded ordering system, not sure if it is new, but the amusing thing is that they still use a pen to write down your table number.

Now to the food, ordered the prawns with noodles.
The noodles came with a separate side of chili sauce, overall it tasted ok, the prawns were big and springy and the noodles tasted OK.
The soup accompanying the noodles was their renowned soup cooked with sharks bones.

翠華茶餐廳愈開愈多,最近開到灣仔了。位於洛克道華美粵海酒店對面,即舊日西班牙餐廳位置。今天先來試他的下午茶。入門,招呼特別好,二樓有雅座,卡位寬大,開朗舒適,是聚首談話好地方。下午茶有四款,我們二人各試一款。其他尚有常餐可選。友人選了C. 翠華特脆豬扒包配薯條,先試豬仔包,配熱可力。上枱,與其他翠華一樣,用長碟配大薯條,炸得皮脆肉滑,包也份量大,也是脆皮,確保持翠華水準。我要了個 B. 川味鮮牛肉撈公仔麵、配珍珠雲吞餐,也想試他的奶茶。牛肉嫩滑,爽而無渣,一流。已淋上辣椒醬,勁辣。公仔麵撈起,避開了我最怕的味精。跟有上湯雲呑,湯味一流,雲呑有蝦香,細咬有質感。至於奶茶,顏色可以,味道一般,不太濃、沒渣。只是缺少靚茶葉香味。總說不錯,下次要試正餐。
