- need to make reservations beforehand- Love the decor, feels like I am back in New York- Can actually SEE the piles of beef - I always like open kitchen restaurants because looking at the chefs in action just makes me look forward to my dish that much more- Definitely a place to eat with friends, or a client. Could be a first date type of place since it can get a little loud- I personally like to go with a group of friends, so we could share and try different dishes- Only other decent steakhous

- Only other decent steakhouse in Hong Kong is the Steakhouse in InterContinental hotel which is more expensive and has a much better view (The steak I think is around the same though the dining experience + service is better in InterContinental). But for people who live in the Hong Kong side and do not want to venture to kowloon, Bistecca, I believe, is your best choice.

Appetizer
Charcoal Grilled Bruschetta with Asiago Fondue
- As the name suggests, it is melted cheese served in a plate. So it is as cheesy as it gets. Personally I just eat the cheese and not the bread, do not want to waste the space for steak
- Fav appetizer in the restaurant
- highly recommend this appetizer to people who loves cheese

Warm Pear Salad, Taleggio Cheese, Hazelnut
- hainvg a salad lessens my guilt for being such a carnivoire
- Love everything about this salads
- note: if you are not a cheese lover, cannot have this salad

Wagyu beef from the Oakleigh Ranch exclusive to Bistecca
- Peronally, I am not a big fan of steaks with 50% fat. Therefore, when I was eating this, i cut away almost 50% of the steak because I was scared my heart will stop beating after eating all that
- Of course the meat part was nice, but if you are one of those more health concious people, definitely do not get this dish

American steak
- obviously compared to the wagyu steak, this tastes more meaty.
- Maybe cuz I lived in USA for so long, but I always go for the american steak. Depending on my mood and hunger level, i decide how big i get

Next time I come here, I would like to try the pork which is also favmous, other salads and desert

友人BOOK了枱同我食大餐~他帶到我去一個我不熟悉的地方..
第一次來,有點緊張,因為全都是外國人吧,而我又唔知呢到係有咩好食..
看看menu, 有d應該係意大利文吧?!
由於我們看了menu好耐都唔知食咩好,一個好nice既waiter走來幫忙,ha!
我們點了個魷魚?! rib eye (14oz),忘記了名的沙律,兩杯紅酒,最後還點了雪糕...
基本上我們一坐低,就有個橄欖包吃,十分好吃~真的,外脆內軟...枱上還有些"小吃"...
燈光很暗,地方唔迫,環境裝修得特別,我常常都看著那掛滿了食材的枱?同貼滿了刀的牆,ha!
食物來了,那酸酸辣辣的魷魚很鮮,不韌,很開胃.
rid eye 十分好味,d邊位有少少"窿",但肉汁依然,正正正~
真係好想試下和牛...haha! 我們還見到董伯伯呢~
好多人來這裡慶祝生日,我呢晚都聽左起碼3次生日歌


埋單時,都只是$800多,我覺得真係好抵...同埋呢到d人都好nice呢! 推介!!!

A few batches of them.
My favorite from the antipasto spread? The ham and melon combo, spicy salami, marinated mushrooms, eggplant and the chunks of bread.

This place is a steak house, but I was not impressed by their hanger steak main course served during lunch time.

Despite how gorgeous it looked, it was not charred enough, tender enough, juicy enough or tasty enough. Hmmm, maybe I am not the type of person who appreciates subtle flavors?

Surprisingly, we were very pleased with the whole grilled seabass.
Utterly surprised, in the best way. Perfectly cooked, very well seasoned, fresh, truly delightful!

Less than HK$200 per person, including antipasto and dessert buffet. Went back a couple of times and tried the lamb and burger too. Love the lamb!

After several booking attempts, have finally get to try out this restaurant.We were served with complimentary appetizer, vege sticks with dipping sauce and the warm olive focaccia, while waiting for our orders. I am a bread lover and I have to say the focaccia was scrumptious, warm from the oven, crusty on the outside and spongily soft inside, seasoned with a hint of olive oil and italian herbs...mmmm....but remember to leave enough room for your main course.We have ordered the Wagu Beef Delmon

We were served with complimentary appetizer, vege sticks with dipping sauce and the warm olive focaccia, while waiting for our orders. I am a bread lover and I have to say the focaccia was scrumptious, warm from the oven, crusty on the outside and spongily soft inside, seasoned with a hint of olive oil and italian herbs...mmmm....but remember to leave enough room for your main course.

We have ordered the Wagu Beef Delmonico 24oz and the Zucchini fries to share between two. The wagu beef was done to medium rare, the cooking temperature is just right to lock in the flavour, keeping the meat tender and juicy, together it was seared perfectly to a smoky flavour, it was one of the best steaks we have had. The Zucchini fries is also a must try, they were delicious and full of flavour. Slightly crispy, the zucchini just melt in your mouth with a hint of lemony taste.
The only downside was that dining in a restaurant like this, you would not expect a 'hawker's place' ambience. On the night, there was someone yelling loudly over the phone, I am sure the whole restaurant would have heard him. Honestly, who would be interested in his conversation??!! To our surprise, none of the staffs did approach him.
Also, maybe the food was too yummy, there was a 'noisy eater' next to our table, chewing sooo loudly, it really was annoying!!!! Sorry to be rude....but I have to say....these people seriously need a lesson in dining etiquette!!!!!

Overall, the experience was well worth and would love to go back for another visit,

After reading all kinds of rather negative review on Openrice, I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised by the warm and friendly service at Bistecca. We have a big party of twelve a Friday night. In terms of the logistics of managing orders and the number of requests we made during the course of dinner, I have to admit the restaurant coped well. I am a steak lover and I must admit the steak quality here is average only. But I am willing to overlook this as the menu is not unreasonable. Seriously, the cost of a comparable USDA Prime grade steak will cost at least HK$350 to 400 alone. This is simple economics and very understandable.

I do have one suggestion and that is for a restaurant which advertised itself as an Italian steakhouse ought to serve genuine Italian beef every once in a while, maybe as a special promotion? I truly would like to see and taste a real Bistecca alla Fiorentina from Chianina cattle in Hong Kong.

講起呢度嘅侍應,全部都係洋人,佢地見我四圍影相都問我會唔會放上openrice,我笑笑口話會,佢地突然好開心咁大叫: "I Love Openrice!",態度親切又鬼馬風趣,跟一般高級扒房果類身穿「踢死兔」嘅侍應,明顯地無咁拘緊,而且呢度裝修簡單得黎好舒服,令人食得相當開心自在...

講返呢度嘅午餐,價錢百幾至二百元左右都有,全部都係包自助式前菜及甜品。不過SET LUNCH無牛扒供應,所以不作考慮之列,當然我當然都會「參觀」一下~以呢度嘅前菜陣容黎講,絕對唔係普通水準咁簡單,而且有沙樂美腸同埋Parma Ham任食,真係見到都已經流晒口水~~

未食主菜之前,先試下呢度嘅Table Bread,新鮮焗出來嘅橄欖包,直徑跟一磅蛋糕差唔多,份量唔惹少。橄欖包外層焗得香脆,入面食落鬆軟好味,絕對非食不可!

今次我選擇左美國Dry Age西冷牛扒,足12安士重,盛惠$278一份。其實大家或者會問咩係Dry Age,其實Dry Age係一種高級熟成方法,主要令牛肉產生蛋白酵素,分解軟化其肌肉纖維,令肉質變腍,入口先會軟綿可口,肉味更濃。由於DA後肉塊會收水縮細,而且熟成成本亦相對較高,所以DA牛扒價錢亦較貴。侍應為我換上較鋒利嘅牛扒刀後,清脆地將呢份Medium Rare西冷中間切開,絕無拖泥帶水。切開後,香味四溢,炭燒味跟肉香味一擁而上,教人著迷。牛扒外層烤紋分明,邊位微焦,入面嫩紅吸引,真係睇到都流晒口水。

食落去果瞬間感覺到咩叫做鬆化,同時亦感覺到香濃肉汁在口間爆發嘅感覺,實在非筆墨所能的形容的精彩!加埋西冷邊位果個我至愛果個充滿油脂嘅筋位部份,真係好食到感動流淚!如此級數嘅牛扒,呢個價絕對係超值!如果中意食Rib Eye嘅朋友,呢度14安士一份都係$348咋!


如果中意食澳洲和牛嘅朋友,呢度有個10安士和牛SET可以俾你選擇。同日本和牛相比,澳洲和牛偏向肉味濃郁,食落無日本和牛果種澎湃油脂香味,各自各精彩。呢度燒和牛賣相亦非常吸引,外邊僅熟,內裡嫣紅,火侯掌握得好好...掂!
 食落感覺到質素非常高,鮮嫩鬆化,肉味豐腴,非常好食。不過要我跟DA美國冷相比,我都係覺得西冷較適合我口味,和牛...我始終都係中意日本嘅多啲,無論鐵板燒或霜燒都無問題!

呢餐食得滿足,飽得差不多不願企起身,餐廳話事人話請我食呢度嘅甜品,叫我去甜品Buffet Corner任選,真心多謝晒!不過我真係已經好飽,我只係淺嚐呢度嘅芝士餅。芝士餅上面有燒香嘅焦糖,有少少似Creme Brulee咁,食落好香,實在估唔到扒房甜品竟然都有如此水準,值得一讚!

在香港要食牛扒,係一件非常容易的事,但在香港要食一份高質素牛扒,比起食優質日本料理更難,而且價錢更加是一個可觀數字,如果大家唔想大破慳囊的話,不妨退而其次,在午餐時間黎Bistecca食一份DA牛扒,絕對係一件樂事。呢度雖然無其他扒房嘅浪漫情調,但超價價錢食到優質牛扒,再加上貼心服務,絕對值得介紹。

The menu changed a little a bit from the first time I was there, well, I only noticed the meat and salad buffet section. Not a great difference, they didn’t offer the hanger steak this time round. Probably a good thing, as I would have ordered again. We all opted for the special lunch, R and I had the bistecca burger with bacon and gorgonzola cream. I started off with the prosciutto which was as good as the first time! I love good prosciutto as you all know. Had some salami which was deliciously spicy with some sweet potato, beetroot and seasoned mushroom. It was a great salad starter.

We also ordered a serve of zucchini fries, thinly cut zucchini battered and fried. Oh my my… it was crispy, and oily but absolutely tasty.

I ordered the bistecca burger with bacon and gorgonzola cream and my gosh… it was bigger than what I remembered! Gigantic burger with bacon, tomato, lettuce and gorgonzola cream, it was absolutely divine and exactly what I needed.

I asked for my meat rare, and indeed it was rare… slightly grilled on the outside and red on the inside. It wasn’t oozing with blood, which was good. The beef patty was tender and absolutely delicious. The fries were thin and crispy and the gorgonzola was cream to die for! A must have!

J and S had the lamb, I am not a huge fan of lamb so didn’t have any, however, both J and S thoroughly enjoyed it. They did say that the lamb was tender and salty – sounds like a common theme, as the steak I had last time was also salty.

I was surprised when Hubby ordered pasta. I found out that day that he wasn’t too hungry and didn’t feel like meat or burger. I thought the pasta was a little boring – I could have easily made it at home on my own.

First of all, I must confess that I am not a fan of restaurants located inside nondescript office buildings. Just the entry experience alone is usually enough to kill my appetite. Bistecca markets itself as a true Italian steak house. My salad of Iceberg Hearts and Roasted Peppers was over dressed, which is a mistake often made by local restaurants doing Western food because they want to cater to local palettes.

The Spaghetti Bolognese was good but not spectacular. Perhaps I really had too high of an expectation for this joint.

Their 12oz Sirloin was the highlight of the evening. Very well prepared and nicely charred on the surface.

Unfortunately, the dessert was once again a let down. I ordered the Panna Cotta which was way too hard. My espresso was also nowhere near an authentic Italian cup...

I am not going to get too much into the detail of the decor. All I will say is that although the vibe is distinctly Italian, I cannot help but feel that I've been placed in an articial environment.

I hear their lunch deals are great. Perhaps that's worth a try, because dinner is just way too pricey for what it is.

Although Bistecca belongs to the Dining Concept group just like Blue Smoke Bar-B-Que, the differences can be quite significant in terms of ... everything, in a positive way of course. Although Bistecca belongs to the Dining Concept group just like Blue Smoke Bar-B-Que, the differences can be quite significant in terms of ... everything, in a positive way of course. It was for lunch and the place was filled with natural sun light and a very clean yet contemporary decor.

The wall fixtures gave me a true feeling that I am in side a butcher house.One thing that caught my attention was how they assign a staff or most likely it was the chef right in front of the serving table sampling the food right before sending it off for diners. It was a minor touch but made a world of differences in terms of dining experience. I am sure a lot of restaurant do that as well but perhaps behind the kitchen? the fact that I can see it happening made me happy. Maybe it was too hooked onto those cooking shows that I see chefs doing that all the time.

As part of our lunch set, a salad bar buffet was included. I did not go crazy on that because the selection wasn't very wide but good enough as starter during a weekday lunch.

Our friend D ordered the burger with bacon, I dared not to ask him for a bite because I was pretty sure he was quite hungry that day. I really wanted to take out that bacon all my myself!!!

S and I ordered the Hanger Steak which was served in a wooden cut board. Wow! Perfect center, Med Rare as requested! I cannot say it melted in my mouth but it was juicy and tender, and very beefy in flavor! Thumbs up! I think I need to come back soon to try their dinner.

I ordered an espresso at the end of the meal but it was SO watery! I had to return it for a slightly better one. I think they need to really work on the coffee. My friend D who ordered the espresso as well cannot agree with me more on this part. We ended up having another cup of espresso somewhere else!

I give an OK because I have been to this restaurant twice - one superb and the other disappointing. First encounter - It was not long after they first opened. I was there for a work dinner with some high-rollers. One of whom knows the owner of the shop and not surprisingly received attentive service and delicious food. First encounter - It was not long after they first opened. I was there for a work dinner with some high-rollers. One of whom knows the owner of the shop and not surprisingly received attentive service and delicious food. I was particularly impressed with the florentina steak, Aussie wagyu dry-aged porterhouse, which provides a well-balance between tenderness and favor. To illustrate my point, it is helpful to give you my precious experiences in US. I have been to various steakhouses i.e Peter Luger, Morton, Capital Grille, Wolfgang, Smith&Wollensky and etc. The point is: I have been spoiled. And the truth is: I have not had a great steak in HK before Bistecca. Get it in Chicago style, burnt from the outside and pink from the inside. Tender, juicy and surprisingly tasty. I would like to emphasize their choice of steak, which I consider extraordinarily smart. Dry aged USDA prime offer strong favor but are less tender than the wagyu. On the contrary, wagyu is tender but often lacks the strong favor. An Aussie dry aged wagyu offers a good mix.

Second encounter - I returned for the florentina with my foodie friends. We ordered two florentina to share. They served them by stacking them up one on top of the other. We did not care much about the presentation. We dig in. They were WARM or even cold. It was obvious to me that the steaks were pre-made. Fatal mistake. For god sake, I felt so cheated by over-paying some second-day-steak-roast-beef-for-sandwich in a NY deli. Things started to go downhill from there. Peter Luger or any prominent NY steakhouses set a rules - waiters deliver the steaks to the tables within certain number of seconds out of the ovens. So that when the steaks arrive, they are still sizzling. A good restaurant never forgo its core value. Persistence is key, stupid.

Later on I came across this restaurant over a conversation with a friend, who provided a better explanation. The restaurant quickly made a "hit" after open. The quick success distorted the focus of the chef, who needed not worry about the business when the room was filled with bankers, traders, HF managers and other businessmen, collectively high spenders. They got so busy and needed to negatively correlate business to quality, sadly. The need of mass production explained my warm/cold florentina.

I am hopeful. Bistecca is smart. But it needs to be focused and delivers persistence. Then they will win my business back.

the beef is not too bad, but it is certainly overpriced.the service is really bad especially if you are chinese not drinking wine. i notice the service was so much different then to those non chinese with bottle of wine on their table.one server rushed out with a hot plate from the kitchen; accidentally dropped on the back of my staff and ruin his cheap shirt. all i heard on the next second was "sxxt!" and the server disappeared. only after 15 minutes, he came back and apologized. I told him:"yo

I went to Bistecca after reading some positive things about it on Bloomberg, but the experience was definitely not suitable for anyone who prizes food quality (ie, yours truly).Everyone keeps saying how this place is good "value for money" but there is no free lunch and my experience proved it amply. Steak is bloody, serumy, and tasteless...I had a 12 oz sirloin and only after ordering it did I notice that it was actually described as "USDA certified" on the menu, which basically means it coul

Steak is bloody, serumy, and tasteless...I had a 12 oz sirloin and only after ordering it did I notice that it was actually described as "USDA certified" on the menu, which basically means it could be anything. Tasted like it was several rungs down from "Prime" quality for sure.

Remember kids, no such thing as a free steak lunch.

Plus, neglectful and surly service, as has been noted by others on this board.

My bf and his friends love steak, and they have actually been here before, and thought I should come, so we all went again.

It was actually pretty hot last week, so when I got to the restaurant I wanted to freshen up, but heading to the rest room was actually worse, it was REALLY hot in there, becasuse it was in the back door of the restaurant.

I was the first to arrive and the waiter placed a bowl of raw vegetables on the table, maybe as some refreshment, but they ain't so fresh! The tomatoes were rotting...I didn't even bother going through all the rest- seriously why would you even serve that?!

My bf and friends came along- we had 3 men and 2 ladies at the table, so we ordered everything to share.

Started with 3 appetitizers:
1) Mixed ham- very basic, nothing special, can find same or even better quality elsewhere for the same/cheaper price
2) Grilled Mozzarella- 3 chunks of mozzarella on a stick- very good, but filling
3) Meat balls- pretty impressive, but personally not a fan.

Pasta: portions VERY small, and considering that we only ordered 2, they didn't even ask if we were sharing- at least suggest to make bigger portions enough to share!
But they weren't good anyway, so that's fine.
1) Carbonara- white sauce with spaghetti- I think it's too creamy and I didn't see any seafood at all
2) Penne- nothing special, definitely would't go there for that

Steak: we ordered 2 styles to share between 5 of us, we ordered medium rare, but it definitely came rare
1) Florentina- it wasn't hot and not juicy, but it was tender
2) Domeica- it wasn't hot nor juicy either- decent, prefer the florentina

Dessert: very disappointing!
We were all dessert fans so we basically ordered everything on the dessert menu!
Tiramisu- best out of all, but have had better elsewhere for sure!
Chocolate tart- it was gooey, with a thick layer of caramel in the middle, so I wouldn't describe it as chocolate, more like caramel tart- TOO SWEET
Almond Ice Nougat: It wasn't cold, didn't taste any almond, and definitely didn't taste like the ice nougats I've had elsewhere- not good, do not recommend it
Generally not a place for dessert!

I really think this place is not worth going to. We also ordered 2 bottles of wine, and the bill came out to be $1000 each. For this amount, I REALLY wouldn't suggest this place, there are many more other steakhouses in town that serve better Florentina's or even steak in general.

I'm most likely NOT going to return or recommend this place.

I went to have lunch today, environment is good, food is good but there is no service at all. Everytime when I needed something, I almost have to wave my napkin to get the servers attention. The servers won't even bother to refill 2 empty glasses on the table, when I pay with my credit card, they just left me a folder with the credit card slip and they won't even have a pen for me to sign?? Fine, I have my own pen, when we leave, the manager was right in front of the elevator and he didn't even
