會如此緊張, 是因為即使是在restaurant week 我們可以以相對優惠的價錢去試一家食肆, 但餐廳所定下的菜單卻不一定適合自己。像FLINT 這一份如此得我心的, 更是罕見。

單是看菜單, 已有值回票價的感覺? 事實是當我們步入餐廳, 在店員的帶領之下走到落地大玻璃旁的餐桌, 二人更對用餐環境表示極為滿意。這一個情況之下只要食物不差, 都可以留下很好的印象了。

幾乎沒有多想, 就揀了Lobster bisque - 因為, 它一直是我的同事的最愛! 單是視覺上已經察覺到有所不同, 湯的顏色淡一點, 質地也如絲般的非常幼滑。入口, 驚訝地發現味道也是相對的柔和。平時飲龍蝦湯, 口腔之中總會嚐到的輕微澀味, 這裡的卻沒有。

雖然喝過之後覺得不膩不滯, 但可能自己的口味比較重, 喜歡更鮮明的菜色, 不能說它是我飲過最愛的龍蝦湯。說賣相, 也不及美國會那一份令人愉悅呢。

同事所食的crudo, 反而更加深得我心。三文魚他他聽上去好似好普通, 不過, 一入口就來個鮮味大爆發, 極是好吃。旁邊的法式忌廉也沒有騷騷的奶味, 幼滑的泡沫狀, 加上旁邊的脆脆(是黑麥吧), 味道、口感都是非常完整的一碟。

主菜方面, 剛剛這幾天牛扒吃多了, 不如就來份豬吧。一向都深深相信要把豬做得好吃, 比煎好一份牛扒難得多。

烤豬上枱, 就忍不住微笑了。這是最靚的豬腩肉啊, 一層層的肥瘦相間, 有一點點油花, 香氣四溢。豬皮肥香可口, 豬肉多汁嫩滑, 好吃得說不出話來。肥肉透明豐腴, 入口卻不覺得油膩, 絕對、一定要吃掉!

碟子上的薯蓉也是一個不可錯過的美食。質地極盡柔滑, 難得, 把食物做得滑溜, 是FLINT的拿手好戲嗎?

完美的一餐又怎可以沒有甜品呢, 抹茶閃電泡芙是意外的夠濃夠甘, 只是泡芙的部分不夠鬆香。Black forest 原來並不是黑森林蛋糕, 而是Kirsch mousse, 圓滾滾的好似大福啊! 清淡不甜膩, 以此作結, 真是完美。

真希望FLINT之後都會繼續參與restaurant week呀!

我最鍾意食lobster,試完呢間之後真係令我覺得有時d野真係貴精不貴多,人大左與其食quantity不如食quality 呢隻新鮮燒龍蝦$400+10%,well...如果要我比既話都有d肉痛,不過正所謂一分錢一分貨,4百蚊係值既,隻龍蝦新鮮唔係雪藏野,香草牛油燒,燒得啱啱好,肉質鮮嫩彈牙再加埋香濃既牛油真係令人再三回味啊~~~~佢仲有個自家製既sauce,酸酸地令人好開胃除左龍蝦之外佢個餐前包都好正,熱辣辣好軟熟仲有好香既麥味,未食main dishes之前都忍唔住encore左一次真係好yummy~~等出左bonus要去豪多次啊

好耐冇係金鐘食飯,今次揀咗呢一間係食環境唔錯又唔多人!我覺得呢度啲裝修真係唔錯又有陽光,所以食飯嘅環境係一流,價錢亦都適中。喺金鐘食飯由個麵包到都主菜都唔錯! 我今次揀咗呢個海鮮意粉,presentation 同味道都中上。嗰粒帶子非常厚又大,咬落去有汁同夠鮮甜。個pasta 有嚼勁,而個汁非常之濃郁,但份量少D。 呢個價錢同食物質素,值得去試一試嘅! 最後,不得不提,個餐包勁軟熟,外面脆,入面軟綿綿,加埋灑咗海鹽的牛油,好好食!

猶記得以前從來也不是一個幸運的人,往往說到抽獎,從來也只有看的分兒,要不人人有獎的話,也就只是抽到最小的。可是在這幾年,開始從一點一點的累積,好像也開始有點小幸運了,早前更有幸在Marriot Hotels的年度活動中抽到了J.W. 頭盤:

點了兩款頭盤,一款是魚來的,另一款則是長通粉來的,個人是比較喜歡長通粉那款,滿有蕃茄香而有嚼勁的。

主菜:

美國安格斯西冷牛扒, 龍蝦: 其實我是為這兩款主菜而來的,雖然可能說不上是我吃過最好吃的, 但就是已經是很不錯的質素。牛扒的質感是對辦的,烤得也剛好。

Been here quite a few times for their Steaks and Seafood, even covered them in some magazine and articles previously. Flint Grill & Bar upstairs is found inside JW Marriott Hotel in Wanchai, HK. Been here quite a few times for their Steaks and Seafood, even covered them in some magazine and articles previously. Flint Grill & Bar upstairs is found inside JW Marriott Hotel in Wanchai, HK. After coming back to Hong Kong, one of the things that really struck my heart was how come so many Steak Houses are so unjustifiably expensive? Steakhouses are meant to be casual places for falling back on, kind of like seeing your lovely girlfriend at the end of the day, not always fine dining. Many places will cost me upwards of $700-800 or USD 90, or more than HKD $1200 - $2000 for a 900g to 1.2Kg Bone-in Porterhouse or Tomahawk cut in town. (Never mind no one has done the ultimate Tomahawk yet but that's again my IP). My steaks in Italy were one quarter the price and tasted 3 times better in most cases. No wonder places like La Vache are doing so well, customers just want a decent steak and some wines for a reasonable price. Here, I think they are also very good value for money for the quality!

Hand-Crafted Burrata Cheese, Manuka Honey, Black Truffle. Figs with Country Bread - $180
It rather sounded exciting indeed!! The Truffles and Burrata cheese didn't have much expected nominal cheesy or truffled taste. But that's alright I am getting used to it in HK 90% of times. Actually the Figs and the Aromatic bread tasted more prominent indeed. ~ 5/10 I am glad this was only the 1st Course instead of the Last Course, Without her even saying, I am sure my Chef Friend was disappointed with described taste vs reality but glad the night improved gradually..

Buttery Brioche to begin with -
Nicely warmed, although don't mention me. These seem so locally bakery like in feel. But they might have to suit everybody else so just pretend I didn't say anything about needing some proper Sourdough bread or a Bread Basket with many types, all warmed up, Actually these were good and addictive, I was only trying to pull your leg because the 'bread snobs' will keep telling you I want proper leavened bread, how much hydration in the dough, how many nipples it will need. It's not like I don't understand the principle, but Bread is just another food and its customisable to suit the crowd. ~ 8/10

Double-Boiled Oxtail Consomme. With Oxtail & Bone Marrow Dumplings - $120
This reminds me of Jewish style Kreplash dumplings too, even with the slightly different meat but the base concept was all about the same. Quite Herbly too ~ 9/10

Grilled Boston Lobster half - $200
Done fairly well and crustacean burnt outside with aroma, but remained moist inside, with a herbal buttery taste. I have had this before too and this time it was better. Guess it depends on the Chef on the station on duty, and also whether they broiled it as whole or half, so many variables.. ~ 8.5/10

Grilled Rib-eye Beef from US Lintz Heritage USDA Black Angus - $390
Nice Char-grilled flavour and Beef Taste. Not the most tenderest meat ever but as an analogy, probably better than 70% of others and plus I have an European preference when it comes to beef, I expect a bit of chew. If you want melt in your mouth steaks go buy some marbled beef without much beef taste instead. This had a nice flame grilling and beef taste factor. Great Price too.. Onion Ring had a hard batter though and even as garnish, can have 1 more piece perhaps ? ~ 8.5/10

Crepe Souffle with Lemon Cream, Cream Cheese Ice-Cream and Berries Compote - $90
Very lovely indeed. My dining Chef companion said the flour taste was a bit too apparent within the Creme Patisserie layer filling in the middle though, which at least was flowing. She explained how this could be remedified using a simple technique. Okay, not arguing with her coz I know she made sense too but this was still good ~ 8.5/10

S'more Soft Chocolate Tart with Graham Cracker, with Burnt Marshmallow Top - Espresso Ice Cream $80
This signature here was still good as a Camp fire style dessert but a little too sweet today and a bit dense. I remember my first few times having this, this was more balanced though!. I have even covered this unique S'More dessert in a magazine before from here.. but anyway, at least the cocoa nibs were still crispy on the side. ~6/10

由揀咗餐廳到去果日,最期待就係佢哋嘅 42Days dry aged rib eye, 因為唔係度度都有得食,而且價錢都唔算好貴,14oz $490, 20oz $590。出面好多普通牛扒都300起跳啦。今次係我第一次食dry-aged牛扒,味道比一般濃郁,texture 都比一般鬆化啲。點樣形容貼切啲.....我會話好似紅酒咁...個味complex 啲....再簡單啲形容....我會話好似食緊chocolate mud cake 咁,好濃好香,不過如果比你一個人食晒嘅話,你就會覺得漏咗啲。 嗰晚我哋就叫咗20oz再一齊share食。

嗰晚我哋仲食咗 Clam Chowder, Caesar Salad, Boston Lobster, Prime Tenderloin 同 個日Flint 嘅Daily special 燒魔鬼魚。

真係樣樣都咁好食,Clam Chowder 非常之多料,湯又滑,蜆又甜,入面仲有蔬菜粒,味道豐富,最重要係一啲都唔漏,而且份量都好大,叫咗一碗都可以4個人分。

Caesar Salad,佢特別嘅地方就係佢上面嗰兩條魚仔,呢兩條 anchovies 同一般嘅唔同,佢唔係鹹嘅,反而係酸酸地,正好同個sauce balance 番。

Boston Lobster,唔好意思喇,皮膚問題唔食得,所以唔知咩味,不過佢哋話好好食。

Prime Tenderloin,唔洗講,一樣咁正,最特別係佢哋嘅signature sauce,唔知入面有乜,不過就好好味,完全係畫龍點睛!

薯條,有牛扒點可以冇薯條,呢度serve既係幼薯條,好似麥記嘅size,不過好味過麥記10倍,冇錯係 10 倍!!!!夠乾身又夠脆,仲有特別嘅seasoning,同牛扒好夾。

至於燒魔鬼魚,好滑,不過就油咗少少,但係本身魔鬼魚都比較多脂肪嘅,唔太特別。

成餐都咁好味,又點會少咗甜品吖。 甜品有 Profiteroles, S'more Tart, Apple Crumble. 所有嘅甜品都唔太甜,而且有唔同嘅texture,口感非常豐富。Profiteroles, 上台時會淋上朱古力醬,下面係棉花糖泡泡,會食到佢好Airy 嘅質感,但係又有啲煙靭,唔係一陣風咁。

S'more tart,有三層,好濃嘅朱古力味,好豐富嘅口感,由軟淋淋嘅棉花糖,gooey嘅chocolate ganache, 到鬆脆嘅朱古力餅,再配好香好濃郁嘅咖啡雪糕。諗起都再想食多次,個咖啡雪糕真係好似飲緊杯咖啡咁架。

最後個apple crumble喇,撻皮好脆,切開嘅時候入面有好多汁,暖暖嘅撻配雲呢拿雪糕係經典而且最完美嘅配搭,上面個塊蘋果好特別架,好似紙咁薄,但係又好脆,好似一塊餅咁。

差啲唔記得仲有餐前個餐包,真係好好食,又軟熟,外面又脆,最重要係可以refill架,所以唔好唔食個包呀,你會走寶。

呢一餐真係好好味,好滿足,比起我哋平時例牌去食buffet,好好多,睇嚟以後我哋公司食飯應該都唔會食buffet嚕。

We went there on our wedding anniversary. I booked it though openrice and it was straight forward. I requested a table with view upon booking but we were given a booth seat nowhere near the window. It was cool at first but the seat was really uncomfortable. Definitely request a table next time.We ordered the Wagyu steak and Nebraska steak plus three sides to share. The steak was cooked well and the sauce and different mustards were lovely. The sides were mushrooms, asparagus and softshell crab.

We ordered the Wagyu steak and Nebraska steak plus three sides to share. The steak was cooked well and the sauce and different mustards were lovely. The sides were mushrooms, asparagus and softshell crab. The crab was a miss, not flavorful. The mushroom and asparagus were cooked to perfection (except I didn't like the hollandaise sauce but it came on the side which was good), do try instead of getting filled up by chips.

The cocktail was really nice, very interesting blending of flavors, highly recommended. We had half a dozen of oyster as starters which was very fresh and they were able to mix platter for us (2 for each choice). The dessert "grandma's apple pie" was really good. The vanilla ice-cream was creamy and frangrant. 

Overall the meal came to about $2000 for both of us. Food and service were fine but the seating arrangement was disappointing and uncomfortable.

超級濃郁既龍蝦湯,雖然係有配上truffle ,但佢個龍蝦味好濃,完全蓋住左truffle 既香味,落唔落都無所謂啦。

因為我地有人唔鐘意食咁生同血淋淋既扒,所以我他叫左七成熟。可惜......我諗呢個就係敗筆......雖然仲係好juicy, 但肉質唔係好嫩,但牛肉味仲係好濃既。下次試下生啲先。如果你諗住叫7成喺變咗5成出嚟嘅,咁你就你錯喇~廚師將你想要嘅熟度,係會煮到係好精確架,所以都係放心叫你想要嘅熟度啦!

其實Flint Grill & Bar係一間美國餐廳,但係個chef sven 就係德國人黎。四月尾既時候就係白色asparagus 既時節,到時chef會帶入黎flint! 到時我一定會再黎食!因為白色asparagus 真係好好食架!!

After the not so happy brunch at Fish and Meat last week, I was shocked that a family member booked another one of their group restaurant at Repulse Bay for this Sunday's brunch. But the weather threatened to turn foul and I was spared. Booked Flint at the last minute and fortunately they had an early lunch table freed up. At least I was confident of a reasonable meal in a reasonable setting.The brunch consisted of the usual buffet spread, except that the main course arrangement has been changed

But the weather threatened to turn foul and I was spared. Booked Flint at the last minute and fortunately they had an early lunch table freed up. At least I was confident of a reasonable meal in a reasonable setting.
The brunch consisted of the usual buffet spread, except that the main course arrangement has been changed. You are presented with a long list of main courses, and told that they come in small portions. So, a ribeye steak would be two slices, and the braised pork belly would be two mid sized cubes, and so on. But there were lots of choices and you can order as many rounds of any of them as you like. In fact you can just order the whole list. 
The buffet spread was excellent by comparison with other leading buffet venues. Lobsters, cheeses, fresh mozzarella cheese and tomato, coppa ham, salami, Spanish ham, reasonable quality sushi, smoked salmon, ceasar salad, Alaskan crab legs, and so on. The only changes were they have substituted Sorreno ham for 5J Spanish Ballota Jamon. Oh, well, those things cost a bundle and times are bad. Still, the Sorreno, hand sliced, was very good. They also stopped offering whole fresh Mozzarella cheese. Those things are costly and I am sure some people would take a bit and say yuke. They are delicious. Well, we still have them, arranged with tomato as salad Caprese. But it is the same fresh Mozzarella cheese. Excellent if you like this dish. I almost never bother with buffet lobsters. Most of them look firey red and yummy, but most are tasteless. So I cannot tell if they were any good.
For main dishes we ordered lamb chops, ribeye steak, braised pork belly, salmon belly in ponzu sauce, goyza, king prawn tempura, foie gras, black cod Teriyaki, lobster thermador ... Well, I lost count. Dessert was pretty good too. But I was really getting to the limit by then and turned out I did not need dinner either. Nice coffee afterwards and although we stayed past 3 pm, after every other guest left, we were left in peace to take our time. Well, we started late anyway. This was polite and professional service.
$580 and $180 for free flowing Verve Cliquot champagne. Not a bad deal at all, and in a nice room overlooking Pacific Place with Hong Kong Park as a backdrop, with a bit of harbor view. Can't complain.
Actually we had a Marriott card that gave us 25% off. Actually, it is always one guest for free so I suppose the less number of people goes there the more the discount. Always strikes me as strange. But we will be back for more brunch and may be consider a dinner. The only thing to watch out for is bottled water goes for $90 a bottle.

第1次嚟試Flint, 入到去,幾舒服,而且d人服務態度好好。坐底就叫咗枝有汔嘅水,一邊飲一邊等朋友嚟。 頭盤我們選擇咗daily soup, 今日係蕃茄濃湯,睇佢個樣平平無奇,但連我唔like蕃茄嘅我都飲晒,好味👍 主菜我選了漢堡,內裡係豬,配菜有薯條,蘋果蓉,塊豬扒裡有洋葱mix在一起,味道都不錯。 朋友就叫了肉眼扒,燒得剛剛好,肉汁豐富,好味👍甜品,我選了梳巴配水果,梳巴係用橘子汁做成,十分清新。朋友就選咗,法式燉旦,味道一般,沒有太大驚喜。

去年JW's California Grill & Bar變身為Flint Grill & Bar後一直想幫襯,卻由於種種不同原因取消了幾次,等到今年七月才終於成事.訂枱時要求了近窗的位罝,Flint安排了張窗旁的二人枱給我和同事.Order後,待應先放下四個用木盤盛著的小餐包,雖然麵包新鮮香軟,但每人只敢吃一個,怕吃不下其他.Appetizer的選擇不算多,相對main course的吸引力略低,同事選了Vietnamese Rice Paper用兩支筷子擺放得漂漂亮亮,可惜米紙不耐放,上桌時邊位已經變硬,除非用手,否則吃時米紙還米紙,饀還饀,很不實際.自己選了當天的Crudo of Market Fish “Marinated Salmon” 味道不錯.同事不吃牛,主菜選了Miral Bresse Chicken Supreme,份量很足,雞肉難得亦滑,不鞋口,同事大讚配菜Italian rice,健康好味.仍是JW's California時已經愛點牛扒,時常無視其他選擇,來到Flint 没理由不試牛,必選10 oz US Grilled Rib-eye,牛扒份量十足,很香的炭烤

Appetizer的選擇不算多,相對main course的吸引力略低,同事選了Vietnamese Rice Paper用兩支筷子擺放得漂漂亮亮,可惜米紙不耐放,上桌時邊位已經變硬,除非用手,否則吃時米紙還米紙,饀還饀,很不實際.

仍是JW's California時已經愛點牛扒,時常無視其他選擇,來到Flint 没理由不試牛,必選10 oz US Grilled Rib-eye,牛扒份量十足,很香的炭烤味,肉質鮮嫩,作為午餐基本上吃不完,偏偏配菜亦出色,尤其是mash potato,又香又滑,加上香脆的煙肉碎,直情想就要多一份.

It's my bf birthday, went there for steak!We arrived early first have cocktail, they have potion on special cocktail 2 for 1, chat with the young bar man ( benson, I might spell it wrong ) he is very passion about cocktail!!!!Then we moved to restaurant Decoration is nice but feeling more suitable come with friends.Any way we here services are good, Alab take care us that night & manage (Luna might spell it wrong again I'm bad with that special after few cocktail) but I didn't forget the food!We

We order clam chowder soup & some ham as starter, then the 63days age with bone 18 oz ribs eye, add side mash potato & lobster to share, and dessert suiffle for the special birthday boy friend, they very sweet put - happy birthday on it.

Their menu is small but supply with small daily special as well, restaurant us big, so t the week day evening when have less then 10 table dinning seems a but quiet. I'm sure thur to sat must be more noise, as they are open kitchen so the smoke do come out, try avoid the table close to the kitchen. 
For food Overall all good but the lobster let it down, too over cook not worth to try, I did complain to the manager about it but they said had received same commoner before will notice to the chef. So, they still need improve this, if first complain I understand but it's happened before then shouldn't repeat the same mistake! 

However the chowder soup & the 63 days age steak Rock!!!!!! 

Happy to go back with some friends 
to try the lobster soup ( they were not available on out visit) pork burger!!!!

本身打算去Marriott cafe食個飯,企左係門口幾分鐘都無人理我,我都知好多人食緊自助餐,但係都要理下其他人既感受嫁灰灰地行左去隔離Flint Grill & Bar,大把位個餐廳名有個GRILL字,無理由唔食牛扒,問服務員邊款好食,佢就話nebraska 63 days dry aged on the bone好食,我就簡左14OZ既NEW YORK STRIP$480,有一小片骨仔係邊,生熟度當然要RARE(3成)啦怕唔夠食,加左蘆筍$80同蕃茄沙律$80先送上餐包,那個牛油既味道唔太討好我,無咩味,又帶酸.BY THE WAY我都唔太鐘意食包牛扒出場,仲有舊燒蒜頭好可愛.牛扒過熟成後牛肉味道真係強烈好多,比起一般既牛扒,多左隻粗獷既感覺,仲帶種臘肉既味.而牛肉會無咁軟熟,多左種o趙勁.熟成過係霸氣既.面頭帶點燒烤既焦香.而送既蒜頭燒左之後係好甜,完全唔辣,但係食起上黎就好麻煩,蒜頭肉好難整出黎.而牛扒GRAVY既味就有種咖哩醬溝沙律醬之類既感覺,老實講唔算太MATCH件扒,就咁食就最美味蘆筍係STEAM既,勁大條,食落無渣既,帶點清甜,配上荷蘭汁,但係都係唔沾醬食最好而蕃茄

個餐廳名有個GRILL字,無理由唔食牛扒,問服務員邊款好食,佢就話nebraska 63 days dry aged on the bone好食,我就簡左14OZ既NEW YORK STRIP$480,有一小片骨仔係邊,生熟度當然要RARE(3成)啦

牛扒出場,仲有舊燒蒜頭好可愛.牛扒過熟成後牛肉味道真係強烈好多,比起一般既牛扒,多左隻粗獷既感覺,仲帶種臘肉既味.而牛肉會無咁軟熟,多左種o趙勁.熟成過係霸氣既.面頭帶點燒烤既焦香.而送既蒜頭燒左之後係好甜,完全唔辣,但係食起上黎就好麻煩,蒜頭肉好難整出黎.

而牛扒GRAVY既味就有種咖哩醬溝沙律醬之類既感覺,老實講唔算太MATCH件扒,就咁食就最美味


蘆筍係STEAM既,勁大條,食落無渣既,帶點清甜,配上荷蘭汁,但係都係唔沾醬食最好

而蕃茄沙律面頭有藍芝士,類似火箭菜同埋洋蔥,食完就知道自己唔太鐘意藍芝士既味道,太濃

如果有機會,下次黎試下其他燒烤類既野先

仲有一件事,我飲左杯凍檸茶,但係無收到我錢,希望店方唔好black list我ok?
