今天OT後,突然很想寫東西。這頓飯是上星期三吃的,到今天剛好就一星期。那天,我想辛勞工作後到一個安靜而又坐得舒適的地方吃飯,便選了上環這間意大利餐廳。之前曾經吃過兩三次,有點印象這裡的意菜貼近意大利口味,加上很多意大利侍應,心想,應該還保持水準吧。有人很細心地預訂了座位,所以我們便不慌不忙地走過餐廳門口。令我意外的是,曾經的food court形式、隨意的家庭式餐廳氛圍突然變了浪漫非常、充滿情調的意式餐廳。對於很少選定餐廳的我來說,隔座人定必把我定型為浪漫型港女吧。而我,其實就本來貪這間餐廳的隨意,才帶他來的。世界總是急速向前,本來二月我才在這裡搬了橄欖油及意大利陳醋回家,怎料三個月之間,餐廳改頭換面,侍應換人,變成偏向美式口味的意大利菜。三款意粉,我會評為不過不失,比一般西餐稍勝,但味道不算太特別。去廁所經過廚房,約莫看到多為亞洲人操廚,是有點失望的,或者那與口味也改變了有關。#hkrestaurant #food #italianfood #italiancuisine #speghetti #lasagne #tagliatelle #pasta #shrimp #romanti

今晚happy Friday ,決心要食餐好。好耐冇食一餐正經嘅意大利菜,於是就來左呢度。Parma ham and buratta cheese !😍😍😱🥗個cheese 波成個拳頭咁大,好開心呀,入面仲係超級流心,食落仲有淡淡牛油香咁。高質!👍🏻Parma ham 都好好味 ,係切得較厚身嘅,但有幾塊比較肥 。小食bruschetta : 一般般,因為蕃茄味唔夠濃呢 ,對於蕃茄好高要求嘅我,食得出佢唔係用入口蕃茄呀...Steak : 賣相好好,所有伴菜都煮得好好食,好新鮮。可惜我地order medium 嘅牛扒under cook 了,似medium rare ,入面仲紅色同凍凍地。其實有諗過send 返俾廚房,不過唔想浪費了咁大舊肉呢,同埋舊肉其實幾好味,可以食到生啲(medium rare )嘅我就食哂中間部分,其他留給我另一半分享。沾埋個磨菇醬,真係好好味。

Steak : 賣相好好,所有伴菜都煮得好好食,好新鮮。可惜我地order medium 嘅牛扒under cook 了,似medium rare ,入面仲紅色同凍凍地。其實有諗過send 返俾廚房,不過唔想浪費了咁大舊肉呢,同埋舊肉其實幾好味,可以食到生啲(medium rare )嘅我就食哂中間部分,其他留給我另一半分享。沾埋個磨菇醬,真係好好味。

Previously named just 'il Bel Paese', this has been around for a long time, but its reviews seem to have disappeared from OpenRice.Those who stop in just for the market (which I used to do) or for the apperitivs or for brunch are totally missing out. The secret is that this place makes delicious Italian food without gimmicks and at a reasonable price, and is open all day.The environment is casual and in reasonable weather, the front windows are open to the sidewalk. Those who stop in just for the market (which I used to do) or for the apperitivs or for brunch are totally missing out. The secret is that this place makes delicious Italian food without gimmicks and at a reasonable price, and is open all day.

The environment is casual and in reasonable weather, the front windows are open to the sidewalk. I have enjoyed a wide variety of dishes here, but here are some recent favorites: the Spaghetti Carbonara used to be better, but is still good enough for me to crave it. The Octopus Salad is delicious, with a generous helping and just-right in tenderness and refreshing flavors. I'm not a big Bolognese sauce fan, but theirs is really good. The Osso Bucco with Saffron Rice is AMAZING! We tried it on the recommendation of the hostess. It was a big helping, but we were warned of that, so we did some sharing. Wow, delicious.

Their menu has changed, but I have not been disappointed by their new offerings. This seems to suggest good management and a solid chef.

I must put a warning here that the food here seems quite authentic Italian, and has not been tailored as much to local habits. For example, the pasta is really al-dente, Carbonara sauce is not full of cream, and the Bolognese sauce is not ultra-sweet. This could explain why it is mostly expats and western travellers who love this place, so the rating on tripadvisor, for example is 4.5 out of 5 stars. To me, it just tastes like honestly good food, not dumbed down or dressed up. That's the way I like it.
题外话/补充资料: They offer free apperitivs with before-dinner drinks. I also hear they have a good wine selection, which makes sense as they sell Italian wines! Since I am not a drinker myself, I can only go by what others say.

信不到上環的意式餐廳 il Bel Paese也有參與Restaurant Week的推廣。這家餐廳我曾經幫襯過,佢哋啲意粉整得幾好,舖頭入面亦有其他意式雜貨售賣。今日同朋友一齊嚟試佢個Restaurant Week Lunch Menu,無記錯係$150 +10% pp.先嚟前菜嘅鴨胸沙律。亮點在於新鮮嘅火箭菜同埋慷慨嘅Parmesan Cheese,鴨胸本身係普通貨色,但整體搭配不錯。主菜係Tortelloni Spinach and Ricotta in Tomato Sauce, 即係意式菠菜芝士雲吞。番茄醬汁新鮮而香濃,配上al dente嘅意粉皮同ricotta 芝士餡,非常美味。甜品係tiramisu,份量稍為細咗啲,勝在cream做得綿滑且蛋糕保持濕潤。

主餐牌內有十多款意粉,筆者只愛忌廉汁,當中只有兩款是用忌廉醬汁煮,揀了最傳統的【Carbonara $95】 每條意大利粉都被蛋漿包裹,加上半溶而變得濃稠的芝士,略嫌煙肉不夠多而且煙肉肉香不夠油脂,少了份香口惹味。

如果要豐富些叫些肉類,那餐廳就選擇不太多,只有四款選擇。【Rack of Lamb $240】原本配菜只有薯蓉,幸好員工不用加錢幫忙轉到小公主的薯條至愛。羊架有三件,店員下單時沒有詢問筆者想要熟度,切開後應該medium to well done,有少許失望……幸好肉質軟腍,肉味充又不太酥。

#ilbelpaese is one of my favorite restaurants in #wanchai, but while the wanchai joint is under renovation, I had to come all the way to #sheungwan to fix my meatball crave, and boy I was disappointed. The meatball was overcooked, but cold when it was served to me. Complete opposite of the moist and warm meatball they have over there in wanchai. The texture was loose, it's like u take a bite and it just falls apart in your mouth. Even the clam in wine sauce is worse here. How can u mess up a sim

Even the clam in wine sauce is worse here. How can u mess up a simple classic dish like this? The dishes come to our table not hot most of the time, and I can only blame how understaff the place was. The waitress was running around taking orders from 8 tables, with a not very friendly restaurant layout and she had to cut the bread as well?!

They also took forever to make the grilled vegetables so we had to cancel it. And when a restaurant happily accepts you canceling a dish, that means they still haven't started making it yet. Very understaffed, very disappointing.

A good place to get solid Italian pasta. I took advantage of the Pasta Deal (afternoon) and treated myself to a nice Carbonara since it‘s been a few months I‘ve eaten one.Having eaten and made so many Carbonaras throughout my whole life, I really appreciate that they don‘t use cream in their sauce! Seriously. You can get perfect results without using cream which makes everything heavier, also cream isn‘t included in the original version of Spaghetti Carbonara. Having eaten and made so many Carbonaras throughout my whole life, I really appreciate that they don‘t use cream in their sauce! Seriously. You can get perfect results without using cream which makes everything heavier, also cream isn‘t included in the original version of Spaghetti Carbonara. So that‘s a plus.
What kinda disappointed me was that it was a bit bland. The noodles were al dente (good) but I barely tasted they‘ve been cooked in salt water, the sauce did contain some pepper but it wasn‘t much. Maybe they‘re a bit hesitant to use salt since most people don‘t eat that salty? Also, I didn‘t taste a lot of the cheese, which is the key ingredient of the Carbonara (next to the eggs).
Overall, a solid carbonara and you can certainly help yourself by asking for salt.
I really like the setting though, it reminds me of a modern Italian bistro. Would go back.

Went to pick up cold cuts from this place and specifically asked for thinly slides cuts of the meat to which the manager/cashier acknowledged but the staff not only didn’t check to see if the cut was what requested, went ahead and cut us cuts of meat which are more than an inch thick! Upon exclaiming that the cuts were thick, they not only didn’t apologize but did not want to replace the cuts and had a bad attitude. Bad service and clearly staff doesn’t actually listen or care about customer nee

We still call this place "Il Bel Paese", and indeed it has not changed that much. After a slight remodelling and renaming, and some changes to the menu, I still find the food is fantastic. The ambience is casual but nice, with a small grocery area in the back, and doors open to the sidewalk when weather permits. Most importantly, the food is delicious: fresh and honest, without any gimmicks. There are different specials on offer at different times, and my experience is that they have been terrific. The pastas are wonderful (I used to be indifferent to Spaghetti Carbonara until I tasted it here; now it is one of my favorites), the roasted chicken is succulent, and everything else I've had here over the years has been great. This place is a jewel. The only thing that has changed much is the choice of desserts. They don't seem to be Italian anymore. The one I have tried on the new menu is the white chocolate cheese cake, which I only ordered because it was recommended. (I mean, are cheesecakes Italian, and what is "white chocolate" but "NOT chocolate"?) Well, I'll have to admit it was quite delicious.
This restaurant is also reasonably priced, by Hong Kong standards, a great value for money.

咁岩見到carbonara crazy week,就去左試下e間餐廳。由於今期做緊promotion,所以每碟carbonara都只係賣緊60蚊,e個價錢黎講算係唔錯。今次黎到餐廳,試左2個菜式,一個梗係做緊promotion既carbonara😂,另一個就係Eggs Benedict。1. Carbonara個人覺得幾好味,煙肉幾脆,意粉幾彈牙。但個人認為份量不足。2. Eggs Benedict一般既eggs benedict都係配搭煎到脆卜卜既煙肉或火腿,但e間餐廳既eggs benedict有d特別,佢配搭煙三文魚,加上酸甜既荷蘭醬、水煮蛋同埋烘底鬆餅,算係幾特別。

最近在上環做瑜珈, 行過皇后大道中發現這間意大利食品店和餐廳, 這店鋪在別的地區也有分店, 之前在灣仔試過, 味道不錯, 於是在這裏一試。雖然是週日, 可能這裡不是旺區, 餐廳只是坐了幾枱客人, 我和老公二人隨意坐在一張二人枱。這裏主要提供意大利菜式, 但也有些簡單的早餐如Egg Benedict,  scramble egg, sandwiches.我選擇了一個肉丸蕃茄醬意大利粉, 肉丸是自家製的番茄醬汁味道濃厚。我老公選擇了benedict egg, 賣相和味道都合格。雖然這間餐廳比較細小, 但食客不算多, 置身其中也感覺很開揚。觀察其他客人, 他們都是一邊與友人交談一邊享受著午餐, 侍應們也不會常常在你的餐枱走來走去, 大家似乎有著自己的空間去享受這個週日的時間。

平時返工多數帶飯,但聽同事講皇后大道中有間餐廳做緊Promotion,$60就食到Carbonara,即刻約埋附近返工嘅朋友去試下。之前經過呢間餐廳幾次見到裝修幾靚已經想試,不過Lunch至少百幾蚊,所以一直遲遲未行動。今次呢個crazy carbonara week用$60就試到,實在無唔食嘅理由!我同朋友各自點咗一份Carbonara,等緊期間店員送上餐包,非常Surprise,無諗過$60價錢仲有包送。雖然橄欖油同醋偏苦,但都為胃打個底先。主菜終於上場!睇上去非常細份,但其實食落你會發覺以我一個咁大食嘅女仔嚟講都非常飽。平日街食carbonara偏向多汁同用煙肉,但你睇得出餐廳係用靚料去做sauce所以成個意粉每一口都非常creamy。而意粉亦用上al dente,除咗較幼身之餘,外面偏軟,中間一點半熟不生,令到每啖都勁有咬口。埋單連加一每人都只係需要$66,喺上環區高級餐廳食到呢個Lunch實在超值。

我同朋友各自點咗一份Carbonara,等緊期間店員送上餐包,非常Surprise,無諗過$60價錢仲有包送。雖然橄欖油同醋偏苦,但都為胃打個底先。

主菜終於上場!睇上去非常細份,但其實食落你會發覺以我一個咁大食嘅女仔嚟講都非常飽。平日街食carbonara偏向多汁同用煙肉,但你睇得出餐廳係用靚料去做sauce所以成個意粉每一口都非常creamy。而意粉亦用上al dente,除咗較幼身之餘,外面偏軟,中間一點半熟不生,令到每啖都勁有咬口。

埋單連加一每人都只係需要$66,喺上環區高級餐廳食到呢個Lunch實在超值。

堂食,150的set lunch,因環境及價格有所期待,但實在另人失望。食物方面:是日午湯是蘑菇湯,味道普通,沒有特別。跟朋友2人叫的是肉排以及意粉的set lunch,肉排雖使用上好的肉,但竟全熟上菜,而且份量極少,難以置信。意粉方面,叫的是肉醬意粉,最考廚師本身功力,唯只有意粉麵質是合格的,吃得出是手打麵以及有過冷河,卻吃不出該有的肉醬意粉水準,沒有牛油香,香草味吃不出來,連本身的醬汁也和意粉格格不入,感覺只是普通的伴汁就上菜,完全沒有考慮兩者的融和。服務方面︰全廳只有我們兩人用餐,唯服務員經常在發夢,離開我們很遠背對我們在看街外,叫了她好久要經理打她頭才發應到,上湯忘了湯匙,結帳時叫了很久,最後耐不住我們只好起身上前結帳趕緊離開。此價格完全對不起它的味道及服務,不會再來。

本人冇去過意大利都可以算係冇食過正宗既意大利粉?早兩日係facebook見到呢間餐廳既大廚話佢既煮法係最正宗,又做緊promotion 60蚊一,今日咁岩又係附近收工咁咪同同事去試下囉睇過大廚點樣古法整呢個意粉,原來係只用蛋黃加少少heavy cream唔用蛋白去做個sauce 所以唔同一般係街食既carbonara咁多汁,呢款會creamy得黎唔會好似湯意粉咁。而意粉就有非常適中既口感,話係al dente,即係中間硬身,側邊軟身個肉就其實唔係煙肉,類似金華火腿啲friend,所以都好味又唔會話好油。可惜個羊奶cheese冇報導講咁咸香,始終都係鐘意牛奶cheese既濃份量都少左啲!如果唔係餐前包我咁大食都一定唔夠飽

所以唔同一般係街食既carbonara咁多汁,呢款會creamy得黎唔會好似湯意粉咁。而意粉就有非常適中既口感,話係al dente,即係中間硬身,側邊軟身


個肉就其實唔係煙肉,類似金華火腿啲friend,所以都好味又唔會話好油。

可惜個羊奶cheese冇報導講咁咸香,始終都係鐘意牛奶cheese既濃
份量都少左啲!如果唔係餐前包我咁大食都一定唔夠飽
