還有幾天便last day,老細請食午餐餞行。去了四年後重開的Jimmy’s Kitchen。新店裝修時尚了很多,但還保留着懷舊西餐廳的味道。我們在一星期前訂座時表明希望安排較寧靜的corner seat,corner seat是安排上了,但我們旁邊有個大喇叭,十分嘈吵,嚴重影響用餐體驗,有點美中不足。剛入座時我們已向服務員反映,無奈餐廳已爆滿,無法安排其他座位。餐牌有兩款,business lunch menu及a la carte lunch menu。翻查了前人的open rice介紹,發現business lunch menu已和兩星期前的不一樣,不知是否會定期更換餐牌。旁邊同事點了3道菜,頭盤烤牛肉刺身roast beef carpaccio,主菜雞胸連雞鎚chicken supreme,甜品意式奶酪panna cotta。我為了寫食評刻意點了3道不同的菜式,頭盤鵝肝醬foie gras terrine(需補$50),主菜貝殼粉conchiglioni,甜品果醬卷jam roly poly。老闆則單點了紅菜頭羅宋湯beetroot and vegetable borscht,

餐牌有兩款,business lunch menu及a la carte lunch menu。翻查了前人的open rice介紹,發現business lunch menu已和兩星期前的不一樣,不知是否會定期更換餐牌。

旁邊同事點了3道菜,頭盤烤牛肉刺身roast beef carpaccio,主菜雞胸連雞鎚chicken supreme,甜品
意式奶酪panna cotta。我為了寫食評刻意點了3道不同的菜式,頭盤鵝肝醬foie gras terrine(需補$50),主菜貝殼粉conchiglioni,甜品果醬卷jam roly poly。老闆則單點了紅菜頭羅宋湯beetroot and vegetable borscht,及白汁雞皇飯chicken a la king。


先說頭盤,烤牛肉刺身配有芹菜沙律和墨西哥辣椒,我沒有試,不方便評論,但同事說普通。鵝肝醬很好吃,旁邊配有鳳梨醬和烤過的脆麵包。鳳梨醬和鵝肝醬很配,有明顯提升味覺的層次,烤麵包則提升口感,非常推薦。羅宋湯我喝了半碗,偏辣,甚至有點麻,料有點少,真的只有幾條紅菜頭,和少量蔬菜,這價格不推薦。

主菜鮟鱇魚monkfish售罄,同事的chicken supreme配有薯蓉和蘑菇汁,我試了一小口,十分普通,沒什麼味道,像吃雞胸肉似的,但口感不會太乾太柴,不推薦,可能單點菜單上的kiev炸雞版本會更好吃。貝殼粉配有節瓜和辣肉腸粒,面頭刨了些芝士。節瓜有點畫蛇添足,感覺與整體食物不搭。相反辣肉腸粒則畫龍點睛,鹹香感平衡了芝士和醬汁帶來的飽滯感,味道不錯。雞皇飯不是用普通的白汁,而是用sherry sauce,帶有很濃的白酒香味。白汁十分軟滑輕盈,配飯一流沒有負擔,值得一試。

甜品penna cotta我沒試,同事說面頭的cornflake脆脆很好吃,與下層的意式奶酪很搭,不算太甜,份量剛好。而我的果醬卷聞起來芬香撲鼻,吃起來則有點乾,即使先用英式蛋奶醬將卷身包覆著才放入口仍然很乾。醬汁沒有令果醬卷更好吃,而且我也不太能吃得到士多啤梨果醬的味道,整體吃起來口感像單吃英式鬆餅一樣。下次有機會希望試試他們的招牌甜品baked alaska。

總括而言,這價錢在中環來說也算有競爭力。懷舊西餐廳的韻味依然存在,但要選對座位和慎選食物。服務不算十分熱情,但也沒什麼好挑剔,對得住這價位。相信無論是新或舊食客都能獲得不錯的體驗。

因為疫情結業的百年老店Jimmy’s Kitchen, 在四年後由Pica Pica和船記等的母公司饕餮集團收購這個品牌, 再將它放置在空置已久的中環畢打行, 與舊店就是一個馬路的距離. 店面比之前的更大, 而且有Open Kitchen, 再加上原本的深層木系裝修, 看起來和原店的一樣, 帶有古典而有些少高貴的氣質. Jimmy’s Kictchen說起來是港式西餐的先驅, 將傳統西餐結合香港不同族群的風格, 就變成了今日我們吃的東西.最喜歡的是那裏的豬扒, 很厚很腍外內也煮得剛剛好, 最重要是配上豉油醬汁以及蘋果蓉, 在肉汁與另外兩者的結合之下, 味道鮮而不膩. Chicken Madras相傳是餐廳裏的印度廚師研發出獨有的版本, 就是很濃, 夠辣, 而且相當乾身, 甚至見到粉狀的調味料, 附上的錦盒也是這裏的經典, 內裏除了有薄脆之外, 也有不同的乾果和醬料, 很有農曆新年的錦盒風格. Beef Stroganoff也就是俄國牛柳絲, 這裏的味道忌廉很濃, 酸度也夠, 再加上橙紅色的外表, 同樣是送飯的好良伴.

As a well established high-end western restaurant, their service was impeccable. The entrance and the floor had a strong Art Deco feel to it in this new location, as compared to its previous location showing a dark mahogany entrance, which was very British.

The starter yellowtail caught our eyes. In terms of presentation, I thought it would be Hamachi carpaccio, very thin slice and flat on the plate, while instead, it was to our surprise that the chef chose to present the fish as thick cuts, so essentially, it’s a Japanese presentation of Hamachi sashimi thick cuts, garnished with finely chopped pineapple, along with jalapeno and mandarin oil. I couldn’t taste the mandarin flavour from the mandarin oil. It’s more like olive oil to me. The dish was light and refreshing.

For the main, the Norwegian salmon was cooked just right. It’s medium rare inside.

The pork belly was very soft, which came with red cabbage that was sweet, prune ketchup and pork jus. It’s a western form of 梅菜扣肉😊.


Both desserts were great.

The pineapple upside down cake had a slight hint of ginger, which went well with the rest.

The mango pudding came with mango papaya jam, rather than mango alone, a nice touch.

Jimmy’s Kitchen was my family’s favourite restaurant and we, all three generations, used to go every weekend, and were very sorry when it closed down. I was over the moon to know that it had re-opened and finally got the chance to try it tonight. Conclusion: very disappointed. The restaurant used to serve us with a lovely basket of bread, and garlic bread was always our favourite. Tonight we were served a couple of dry and stale bread rolls with a thin pat of butter. The renowned Baked Onion Soup was only luke warm. How can that be? It’s supposed to have come out from the oven.

Prawn Madras was nice but not quite the same as before. My friend had the Chicken Kiev and the meat was dry and chewy. Again not impressed.

But what of the Baked Alaska? Can it save the evening? No!! The meringue layer was thin, there was hardly any fruit inside, and the ice cream was rock frozen. None of the wonderful fluffiness and lightness from before. And the chocolate sauce wasn’t a given. I had to make a request.

All in all, I’m pretty disappointed. It may have some dishes from the menu of the old Jimmy’s Kitchen, but Jimmy’s Kitchen it is not!!

This commitment to hospitality is evident from the moment you step through the doors. As for the cuisine, Jimmys Kitchen maintains its reputation for delivering exceptional comfort food favorites. The French onion soup is a classic starter, rich and deeply savory, while the Angus beef mince on toast provides a satisfying and filling main course option. However, revisiting as an adult, I couldn't help but feel that the food has become slightly overrated. While the cooking is still straightforward and uncomplicated, the overall quality and execution felt a bit subpar. Dishes that I once found so satisfying now came across as rather one-dimensional and lacking in depth of flavor.

That said, the true standouts may be the rigatoni and stroganoff. The pasta dish is expertly prepared, with the tender rigatoni noodles coated in a velvety sauce. And the beef stroganoff evokes a sense of nostalgia, transporting diners back to the restaurant's origins with its comforting flavors and textures. Overall, the revitalized Jimmys Kitchen successfully captures the essence of its storied past while offering a contemporary dining experience that is sure to delight both longtime loyalists and newcomers alike. 一直懷念九龍尖沙咀的Jimmy's Kitchen, 通常慶生之類都會光顧,2016年五月吃了生日飯後,在不知不覺中它竟然結業了!最近我在面書懷念它的Baked Alaska時, 朋友告訴我,它在中環“畢打街”重開,所以今年的家人為我的慶生飯席設于此!因為比家人早到,所以先飲了羅宋湯和法式洋葱湯!怎料齊人後,叫了炸魚薯條,Roasted pork chop, Chicken Supreme Kiev, Jimmy's Beef Stroganoff 等等,Baked Alaska一早預訂妥當👍遇著個新手女侍應,雖然拿著本小筆記部落單,十數分鐘后,另一位比較成熟的侍應過來問我們,是不是還未落order,才仿然大悞!所以我們很遲很遲才有東西吃!豬扒好厚已切件,跟萍果醬,好味!炸魚的魚肉會散開的唔錯!炸雞卷都唔錯!縮了水的火焰雪山都幾好!

本來極期待的母親節午餐turn into a disaster. 食物水準本來就一般,最令人費解的是服務態度。母親節的午餐時段餐廳只是半滿,人員充足,但是服務一直滯後。小朋友最期待是來吃Baked Alaska, 知道準備需時,還有因為小朋友在午餐後需要上課,所以在點餐的時候已經落order。在我們食主菜尾聲的時候已經向服務員說小朋友需要上課,所以要求準備甜品。然而主菜食完後多等15分鐘甜品還未上。跟外籍經理敘述情況他的第一態度就是一副poker face說這個甜品需要時間準備,需要20分鐘 “Defrost”. 去電腦Check 完我們的落單時間後還表示一副唔關佢事的口吻,令人非常討厭。或許此人的主要工作是跟外籍客人聊天吧。在我們用餐的大部份時間,一直在跟門口一桌的外籍女客人聊天。t’s surprising to see some people would dare to invest so much to open a seemingly upmarket restaurant in Central with this kind of low service. On the last page of the menu it says: If you like the food, tell your friends. If you don’t like it, tell Jimmy. Well Jimmy if you are alive somewhere, please be aware of the problem of your new restaurant and hope it will not end up like last time.

Jimmy's Kitchen可為由細食到大. 當舊店宣佈結業亦有去幫襯最後晚餐. 聽見重開亦非常開心興奮. 等咗幾個星期等佢run in之後決定試一試. 是日是平日晚餐時段,有50%入座率相當唔錯, 樓面人手亦相當足夠, 誰不知最後是令我極度失望的一個晚上. 😔有點餐時路面已經很不熟悉自己menu, 點wine亦配上錯的酒杯. 樓面人員互相撞嚟撞去極度混亂 開了酒後亦不會主動幫你加添. 食物亦非常失望尤其是Signature Madras, 好乾好乾之餘,onside配上港式咖哩汁據說話畀客人撈飯食😂, 出餐時間亦不是中上西餐可以接受,同抬朋友已食完本人那碟是20分鐘後才到.😭

相信大家都必定聽過Jimmy’s Kitchen呢間百年老店疫情前香港都有店不過當時吉蒂未有機會試🥹而最近友人得知佢於中環重開
於是我哋就先去試吓佢嘅Lunch Course~🍽️餐廳選址正正位於中環地鐵站隔離嘅畢打行一出地鐵站只係行幾步路就見到超級方便💯入店後整間店嘅環境好grand設計裝潢都好典雅相信設計師一定花咗好多心思設計☺️喺我行去洗手間嘅時候仲發現餐廳面積超大查問下原來可容納多達160人😳整間餐廳分設Lounge、酒吧、供應海鮮同刺身頭盤嘅Crudo bar同埋主要用餐區+舒適嘅私人用餐房餐廳中間仲有個開放式廚房同吧檯座位我見唔少單身嚟食Lunch嘅男士都比較中意坐吧檯座位估計係方便欣賞到廚師嘅製作料理過程吧?🤭可惜餐廳店員唔比我拍攝更多餐廳環境嘅video...只可以拍到食物及少許用餐區嘅環境比大家睇🥹至於食物方面始終係試Lunch Course無咩太大驚喜不過論餐廳環境+服務+位置+價錢我覺得Jimmy’s Kitchen算係物超所值~~😎聞說店家推介招牌咖哩雞,煎法國鴨胸,24安士Cavalier和牛西冷下次一定要再嚟試吓先得!🤞🏻Lunch:2 Courses $298

查問下原來可容納多達160人😳
整間餐廳分設Lounge、酒吧、供應海鮮同刺身頭盤嘅Crudo bar
同埋主要用餐區+舒適嘅私人用餐房
餐廳中間仲有個開放式廚房同吧檯座位
我見唔少單身嚟食Lunch嘅男士都比較中意坐吧檯座位
估計係方便欣賞到廚師嘅製作料理過程吧?🤭
可惜餐廳店員唔比我拍攝更多餐廳環境嘅video...
只可以拍到食物及少許用餐區嘅環境比大家睇🥹至於食物方面始終係試Lunch Course無咩太大驚喜
不過論餐廳環境+服務+位置+價錢
我覺得Jimmy’s Kitchen算係物超所值~~😎

Jimmy's Kitchen這個名,由細聽到大,也算是由細食到大。身邊人一提起,特別是兩間老店數年前結業之後,個個都話好可惜、好懷念等等。問我覺得好唔好食,我會認為是吃情懷多過吃味道。我人生的任何階段,沒有一次是因為老店的「好味道」而去的。對我來說,這名店是另類高級豉油西餐。當然,餐牌上的食物不少也是西方美食,但做法、味道等等,我就往往覺得這是「港西」。當然,港西也有港西的好味道,即是說,我從來沒有覺得這裡的食物出眾到一個點我會主動惠顧,所以才有我所指的「情懷」之說。最近知道Jimmy's Kitchen有新老闆把品牌在中環畢打行重建起來,中環族的朋友邀請,又有機會試新嘢。新餐廳可以說是50/50新瓶舊酒:老店有的名菜例如Chicken A La King、Chicken Surpreme "基輔炸雞"、Baked Alaska等等一應俱全,老顧客一家開心。新餐廳的裝潢完美upgrade,傳統格調帶著現代輕奢,燈光和佈局舒適程度絕對滿分,服務員年青化,我遇上的餐廳經理是外國人,對每枱顧客都會悉心簡單照顧,感覺非常親和良好。席間我們一枱3人點了紅菜頭湯,比起傳統羅宋湯更清甜;馳名的Ji

我覺得呢個對比上普通d 上面層蛋白霜無咩燒過既味道
蛋糕索左唔少酒味 所以有少少蓋過左開心果、車厘子🍒餡料的味道

Dinner. Unexpectedly large long space; dining rooms on either side with a bar in the middle. We picked the more casual “cafe” dining room as it is brighter and less noisy than the formal dining room with tablecloths. Same menu is served anyway. Here is what we had. 4 pieces of House Cured Salmon Gravlax with roasted beets, honey mustard, dill etc. Served with 4 pieces of toast. The salmon had a silky and substantial texture. The earthy beets went well with the sour cream. A refreshing and well-balanced appetizer.

Wanted to order the seared Duck Breast which was unfortunately sold out. Server suggested instead the roasted Canadian Pork Chop with crisp crackling, gravy and apple sauce, medium to well done. Meat was tender- a satisfying and comforting dish.

Jimmy’s Kitchen now reopens with a vengeance after its closure 4 years ago at Pedder Building. The new space seats up to 160 diners with a casual dining lounge, cocktail bar, and main dining room, as well as a brand new crudo bar and a private dining room. Now that it has an open kitchen, diners can enjoy their meal while watching the team led by Michelin-trained Executive Chef Russell Doctrove prepares their meal. The night of our visit we ordered Jimmy’s Kitchen’s iconic Chicken Madras made with the original recipe and served with signature condiments in porcelain dishes and the Beef Stroganoff. I liked the Beef Stroganoff a lot and I could down a couple bowls of rice with it. A delightful evening and certainly a lovely place to spend the evening in.
