這晚和兩位老饕聚會,是為了替老饕一號慶祝生日。筆者自詡喜好美食,但絕對不會在兩位真正的美食家前班門弄斧,一早表明任由前輩決定去處。老饕兩號原想到半島酒店嘗試瑞士火鍋,訂座電話卻無法接通,打了好幾次後終於接通而預約已滿,只好作罷。壽星反而無所謂,於是改為到Sushi Hiro吃飯。免費頭盤和水果酒:鴨胸鮮美,炸「丸子/糯米糍」香脆(但筆者實在不知道自己吃了什麼),水果酒很甜。魚生:肥腴新鮮,不過吞拿魚有點腥,雖然吃下許多omega-3 oils也值得。海鮮清湯:以日本餐室常用磨砂「湯」壺盛載,有木魚絲、大量不知名菇類、少許魚肉,清淡但鮮甜。馬鈴薯湯:入口濃滑,有奶油味壽司:在以「壽司」命名的Sushi Hiro,壽司竟是最弱的一環,令筆者不禁有點意外。跟某中高價壽司連鎖店相比,吃起來分別不大,最出色的是吞拿魚,新鮮爽口而帶三分肥美;是筆者不懂欣賞嗎?!沙律:火炙三文魚和燒洋蔥,像西餐的tartare,沙律醬汁酸甜開胃,非常特別。芝士焗帆立貝:焗出一層像à gratin的麵包屑和芝士淺棕色脆皮,帆立貝入口溫熱,濃香四溢,且不會有太肥膩的感覺。醃製海苔和小魚:海苔酸甜,小魚帶鹽味,味道都新鮮

沙律:火炙三文魚和燒洋蔥,像西餐的tartare,沙律醬汁酸甜開胃,非常特別。
芝士焗帆立貝:焗出一層像à gratin的麵包屑和芝士淺棕色脆皮,帆立貝入口溫熱,濃香四溢,且不會有太肥膩的感覺。
醃製海苔和小魚:海苔酸甜,小魚帶鹽味,味道都新鮮。 
甜品:眼闊肚窄的老饕每次都會大嚷「好餓好餓」,最後卻總是自稱「不大餓」的筆者吃最多。不論多飽都吃得下甜點的筆者當然不會放過雪糕,選擇眾多(芝麻、紅豆、綠茶、蜜桃雪芭等等);筆者挑了綠茶,香甜濃滑,有綠茶微澀味卻不會苦。

總結:高質素日本食店,價錢當然不廉宜,不過算是很合理了。

2 of us arrived without a booking for lunch on a Saturday, after 1.30pm. The place was only about half full with at least 4 seats available at the sushi counter. No one acknowledged our arrival for about 10 seconds. One waiter told us to wait and proceeded to head into the kitchen, came out carrying nothing and walked past us. No one acknowledged our arrival for about 10 seconds. One waiter told us to wait and proceeded to head into the kitchen, came out carrying nothing and walked past us.

After about a minute of standing there in silence, a waitress came to see what we wanted (a table for 2, in case there was any doubt). She said she needs to check and see if there were any table avaialbe (OK) and walked off (?!?!?!). I would have thought consulting the bookings book would be the logical next step...

She came back after about 20 seconds and said because they are fully booked (there were obviously invisible people sitting at the empty tables and in the 4 seats at the sushi bar) that we may not have time to finish our meals before they closed the kitchen. The sign at the door said the lunch finishes at 2:30pm so we had an hour, more than enough time for a quick bite I would have thought.

I told her we can finish it if they can serve it up quickly enough. She didn't look happy that I challenged their efficiency. She told us again since they were FULLY BOOKED (those invisible patrons again) she could check their other restaurant in the same building to see if they had any free seats (so apparently it's no longer whether we could finish our meals now). After speaking into her her headset for 5 seconds she confirmed they had no seats. We then had a wonderful lunch at another CWB Japanese restaurant.

We must be making progress as the last time we went to Sushi Hiro we were just ignored by their staff for about 2 minutes, No one bothered to check if we were there looking for a table. looking for directions or to sell them life insurance.

In all fairness I have eaten there and the food is fairly decent but nothing spectacular to the point where I would be agreeable to endure this kind of service BEFORE even gettin ga bite of food.

A word to the management: SACK YOUR SATURDAY LUNCH WAITING STAFF ON 10/, and get some new ones who know about customer service. Until then, I will not bother to visit again nor recommend this run of the mill CWB Japanese restaurant to others, as your money is better spent elsewhere.

I am a regular guest of Hiro since 2003 and introduced lot of friends there. However this one is disqualified from my list since my lunch on 2May, which was the worst experience I ever have from a sushi restaurant in Hong Kong Island.Awful issues include:- Broken lunch menu that missed one of the four main pages (everyone knows it has only a simple lunch menu with few pages)- long waiting time for more than 30 minutes for a simple sushi set, though there were lot of the chefs working at the coun

Awful issues include:

- Broken lunch menu that missed one of the four main pages (everyone knows it has only a simple lunch menu with few pages)

- long waiting time for more than 30 minutes for a simple sushi set, though there were lot of the chefs working at the counter (meanwhile we were requested to return the table within 60 minutes, how could we manage?)

- the shop suggested us to pack and take away the food when we said could not manage. Oh my dear, was Hiro a fast food shop ?

- wrong delivery of other table's dishes.

- poor quality of the fish head soup, too salty & over-done, looked like Chinese hotpot.

Can't understand why the shareholders of Hiro keep expanding without taking care of their main shop quality. Too disappointed !!

有不設上限的 budget 食飯, 當然要善待自己啦! 所以揀選了由友人推个的壽司廣食 omakase.餐前梅酒好醒胃,甜、酸、酒味剛剛好! 一來就是肥美的 TORO - 好油啊 之後再來了秋刀、牡丹蝦、右口魚邊、帶子、魷魚、鰻魚、海膽...都頗新鮮 但最敗筆的可算是鮑魚壽司 - 掃上了一層厚厚的鰻魚汁 (我估),好杰的汁,無味道可言 另 order 了2條 Kinki, 賣相+分有氣勢,可惜下鹽重手了少許,肉身亦未如我想像的實正,又扣了點分。整體不過不失,但就是欠了 Wah 一聲的驚喜。加了支 $1100 大吟釀,5人行埋單$8800,用這個價錢,應該可以更好!

Went here for dinner with a few friends. They didn't honor our reservation properly and we didn't get seated (after a few complaints) until 20 mins later. Plus, the problem was that there wasn't a designated greeter/conceirge, so multiple waitresses running around and telling us to wait. And they didn't give us the reason why there was a delay (found out later that we were assigned a room, and the company inside didn't finish). So started off bad. Food: For 4 ppl, we ordered: 2 Chef Rec Sushi sets; 1 Chef Rec Sashimi set; 1 Chef Rec mixed tempura set; Fried fish bone chips; Few Asahi beers.

Sushi & Sashimi: Very very fresh and tasty, especially the raw stuff (tuna, scallop, shrimp, sea urchin, squid etc..). Served it very authentically with right temperature and little chef's amount of wasabi under the sushi fish. Highly recommend, believe for high quality sushi the value was acceptable.

Tempura: Pass. Was just decent, nothing special. Overpriced as well since it wasn't anything outstanding.

Fried fish bone chips: Was initially guarded against eating bones...but turned out very tasty - like fish chips, its actually the spine bone, not the little thinner bones. Served well as an appetizer with the beer.

Free stuff: They gave us a good amount of complimentary stuff. First each person got 2 mini appetizers - 2 slices of smoked duck with onions and a mix of mushrooms, slightly buttered. Super delish as cold appetizers, I ate the little bowls clean. Also, we each got a small cup/shot of sparkling peach sake - soo good! It tasted like those Chinese flower candy, but in a sparkling form. Also, at the end of the meal we each had a choice of ice cream (green tea, red bean, sesame, strawberry), which was nice as well.

Service: Besides the poor reservation management, the actual service during the dining was better and more attentive. Hot towels were given pre and post meal.

Decor: Restaurant actually spans floor 10 and 11 of Henry House. Limited seating, but I would recommend sitting by the bar for a more authentic experience. Bar seating was a half oval shaped, so its more intimate and appealing overall.

Sizing it up: Very very fresh sushi sashimi, but of course at a price. We spent $2000, so average $500 a person, but we did leave with full tummies and each had an Asahi beer, and had a good share of complimentary extras. So I'd recommend this joint for a more special occasion or if you have a very intense Tsukiji Market sushi craving. Make a reservation!!

坐下便叫師傅介紹sake, 是凍的大吟嚷, 名“優”, 很易入口, 澀甜度恰好, 結果喝了兩小瓶

不久便送來餐前小吃及餐前酒, 胃部引擎可要開動了

刺身有多款魚類, 例如有深海池魚, 拖羅, 蝶魚等. 深海池魚的甘香, 拖羅的油潤, 蝶魚的清爽, 真的每樣也使我回味無窮

還有貝類三款, 赤貝肉厚不腥, 象拔蚌條爽脆, 響螺片鮮甜細嫩

壽司温度恰宜, 不過鬆不死實. 每件壽司都經給調味而不用再放豉油.

剝皮魚配它的魚肝甘甜迷人.

鮮蝦仔每隻像白飯魚般小, 但可不看小它, 味道鮮甜肉也嫩.

三文魚子粒粒飽滿結實, 像炮仗般在口裏爆發.

炙燒拖羅像吃甘香的肥豬腩般, 經火燙後油脂更顯韻味.

最後來個清湯暖胃, 湯清甜, 蜆肉厚大鮮甜.

甜品我要了黑芝麻雪糕, 薑餅人要了桃味雪苞.

甜美的一餐, 快樂的泉源.

來之前當然已做了點功課, 在老弟來到之前點下了一客 16 件自選壽司定食 ($290)。這個基本上是「剔紙仔」操作, 雖然好些種類是日沒有供應, 不過因為想和老弟分享, 所以只選了其中 8 款, 每樣 2 件。

先來前菜, 分別是三文魚子豆腐、冬菇菠菜、一隻螺, 還有茶碗蒸, 給老弟吃了。

不久一大盤壽司隨即上場, 陣容果然鼎盛, 圖中的是 [由上至下, 從左至右排列]:
中卜口 (吞拿魚腩) - 超級好味! 看樣子已知肥美非常, 入口更是即時爆出油花, 不枉我留到最後才吃!

帶子 - 軟綿鮮美。
黃魚 - 肉質比較結實, 樣子和食味有點像鯖魚。
海膽 - 有少少苦味, 尚算幼滑。
三文魚子 - 充滿鹹香的三文魚油, 也好吃; 不過軍艦類壽司還是要快吃, 不然就好像我們只顧交談, 紫菜也快放腍了!
飛魚子 - 卜卜脆, 比普通蟹子鮮美。
赤身 (吞拿魚) - 新鮮!
玉子 - 我是第一次見到用蛋皮捲著的玉子壽司的, 蛋皮是薄弱了一點, 我還是喜歡用燒玉子的壽司
壽司握得件件大小一致, 鬆緊度適中, 果然有水準。

老弟來到, 再選一款定食, 要了「江戸‧なにわ寿司御膳」 ($140) (借用了同文壽司迷兄的字一用喇), 因為關西風的箱押壽司平時比較少吃嘛。其實也不全是關西風的, 因為漆盒裡的三格分別是太卷 (後來問另一位較年青的日籍師傅原田先生, 他說這是東京風來的)、壽司 (一般人稱的壽司, 就是江戶壽司了), 最後才是壽司。一次吃勻不同風格的壽司, 真抵啊。太卷色彩繽紛, 造工精細, 十足一件藝術品。只是吃過剛才的一大盤壽司後, 再吃這個已很飽了, 但我還是把它吃完了, 不要浪費了師傅的心血啊。箱壽司用上煙三文魚和一種白身魚 (不知是什麼), 中間有一小片漬物, 比握壽司大件一點, 所以就由老弟幹掉大部分了。至於握壽司, 就有我們之前沒有點的八爪魚和蝦, 我吃了蝦的, 也不錯。

我們吃完了壽司, 麵豉湯才來。不太鹹, 內含蝦頭, 增添鮮味。

正當我們已飽到撐的時候, 還有甜品呢! 這天的是日式湯圓紅豆湯, 濃稠香甜的紅豆沙加綠色的軟綿綿糯米丸子, 原來日式紅豆沙都好好味。加上餐後一杯咖啡, 是滿足非常了。

服務又不是網友們說的那麼差喎, 服務生都很客氣, 只是兩位本地師傅溝通時有時會多了少少助語詞, 你怎知道老闆聽不懂呀?

謝謝老弟陪我來吃這一頓美味的壽司, 我可沒有介紹錯吧? 你以後要撐檯腳又多一個好去處了!

壽司廣晚餐都幾貴,但原來 LUNCH 平好多架,最平的 $140 就有交易喇!九件壽司LUNCH SET ($140) - 蒸蛋 / 麵鼓湯 / 九件壽司 / 咖啡 / 生果三款自選 LUNCH SET ($140) - 壽司或手卷(選一) / 數款MINI飯 (選一) / 麵或烏冬 (選一) / 咖啡 / 生果 蒸蛋:不錯,夠滑。 壽司:新鮮,品質有保証,師傅手勢也不錯,壽司飯不會太實也不容易散。壽司飯的味道調得得宜,魚生片及壽司飯的比例也好,要吃有質素的壽司這裏絕對是不二之選! MINI 鰻魚飯:鰻魚的份量也不少,應該有一個大家樂鰻魚飯的鰻魚份量吧 (而這個鰻魚飯只是整個 SET 三款的其中之一)。 MINI 烏冬:一般啦。三款自選 LUNCH SET 又是壽司又是 don 又是麵食,好飽呀!最正的是壽司,店名用得壽司 x 來命名果然有道理 (但sorry,我覺得一壽司同峰壽司都唔好食)。

蒸蛋:不錯,夠滑。
壽司:新鮮,品質有保証,師傅手勢也不錯,壽司飯不會太實也不容易散。壽司飯的味道調得得宜,魚生片及壽司飯的比例也好,要吃有質素的壽司這裏絕對是不二之選!
MINI 鰻魚飯:鰻魚的份量也不少,應該有一個大家樂鰻魚飯的鰻魚份量吧 (而這個鰻魚飯只是整個 SET 三款的其中之一)。
MINI 烏冬:一般啦。

三款自選 LUNCH SET 又是壽司又是 don 又是麵食,好飽呀!最正的是壽司,店名用得壽司 x 來命名果然有道理 (但sorry,我覺得一壽司同峰壽司都唔好食)。

諗住去食dinner, 就想起sushi hiro, 於是去book位, 但剩番sushi bar 台, 其實就係最想咁樣, 因為可以同師父傾到計.(冇諗到係日文師父來serve我地)揀左2個chef's special, d手握sushi好新鮮, 特別係toro, 象拔x, 鮑魚(with 汁)...都係要師父recommended先可以食到d好食0既, 自己點真係未必食到.最後都要讚一讚日本人師父好有禮貌同埋好professional.一定會再encore !!!So far, 之前有comment話d service好差, 完全唔覺, d waiter都好醒目同埋細心.

I went there with my family and we sat at the sushi counter. The uni is usually pretty good but this time we went it stunk. When we told the boss (Hiro) about it he took a taste and without even looking at us he simply said, "Nothing wrong with it" in Cantonese and continued slicing fish. Mind you, it was maybe our 20th time going there, I'm not saying we're VIPs or anything but I think he recognizes us. I don't think you treat you regular customers like that. Maybe he was having a bad day, but

For this price, in this economy, I demand way better service.

haven't eaten here for a while and came back with a friend for a "snack" as i had a late sunday brunch. ok ordered a la carte some uni sushi and scallops and a few others, a salad, a couple of pieces of tempura and a small cold sake. came out to almost $700 per person. crazy, and it was supposed to be just a snack! maybe we still ate a lot for snack but it was definitely way over priced. the fish was fresh, no complaints there but it wasn't wow or anything. and the service was poor, the wai

上碟lah! toro, 帶子, 赤貝, 油甘魚, 海膽... 食食吓醒起未影低tim... 但係已經食咗好多件喇... D toro 入口有溶化嘅感覺呀!

除咗呢版壽司, 我哋重點咗另一set tempura+sashimi, $140兩樣嘢所以都冇期望太多, 份量雖然小小哋, 但係質素都好好.

專誠請了一日假去搵好野食 日前已book 了壽司廣, 小女子 12:00 到場都待客人十隻手指數得晒 安排了坐吧枱點了 $148 乜都有午餐先黎既係麵豉湯: 湯內有蝦頭, 幾鮮味 蒸蛋 : 蛋味足, 除雞蛋以外差不多每一口都會有料, 最喜歡圓潤的銀杏, 味道清清, 十分香滑再上壽司, 足有 10 多件, 份量十足 先試了海澹,和碎吞那魚, 味道夠鮮海澹沒有苦味, 但所有壽司既紫菜也是”淋” 的, 確有點失望 而其他的壽司也合格但欠驚喜, 最後付上的一 杯咖啡, 味道香濃, 西瓜反而無興趣了 ! 真係飽到郁唔到 但以148 呢個價可以比個笑面既

蒸蛋 : 蛋味足, 除雞蛋以外差不多每一口都會有料, 最喜歡圓潤的銀杏, 味道清清, 十分香滑

再上壽司, 足有 10 多件, 份量十足
先試了海澹,和碎吞那魚, 味道夠鮮海澹沒有苦味, 但所有壽司既紫菜也是”淋” 的, 確有點失望


而其他的壽司也合格但欠驚喜, 最後付上的一 杯咖啡, 味道香濃, 西瓜反而無興趣了 !

真係飽到郁唔到

但以148 呢個價可以比個笑面既

The Sashimi was real fresh, i only ate the scolop, the side is huge and fresh.The tempura was my best choice, not too oilly and very crisp.The sushi was real bad, the rice has no favour and hard.The salam tofu was real nice, but the sacue is too thick.The worst are their customer service. Bad 1) We found a cockroach on the bench top, they just use a towel to catch it, no apologies, no compensation, just assume nothing happen or it is something so common happen in their shop, so don't care.2) Wh

The worst are their customer service. Bad

1) We found a cockroach on the bench top, they just use a towel to catch it, no apologies, no compensation, just assume nothing happen or it is something so common happen in their shop, so don't care.
2) When we ask for tea refill, the girl just refill 1 cup & leave the other 3 alone.
3) One of the dish take more than 30 mins to come, and we have been chassing them so many time, but what they do is ok, will check... but they did not do anything.
4) We only gave them a small tips, the girl turn her face to black & long.

The food is OK, but their customer service was bad, very bad.
