Izakaya Dinner for 4. A “restaurant-in-restaurant” idea; part of Maison Meiji, a Western-Japanese dining concept inspired by the Japanese Meiji era; on the 1st floor of the revitalised Grade II heritage Green Building. Indeed, loved the time-travelling retro deco and ambience.Counter seating approx 10. Some chef specials to choose from, items from the main menu also available. Server explained that popular items included the rice wrapped in egg; also interested in some pasta dishes. P spotted the fish hanging in the fridge; chef explained that that particular one was not sufficiently aged yet; but we could have the threadfin, which was ready. Yes please! Grilled and served with a tangy plum sauce. Here’s what we also had. Deep Fried Octopus- interesting; flesh was surprisingly tender.Seared Flounder Muscle. Loved it. Crispy with loads of texture. Chicken Wing Chicken Neck Pork bellyMinced Chicken SkewerGrilled Oyster Japanese YamPork Rice Roll- too much rice for me. 位於茂蘿街7號嘅明治居酒屋絕對似足電影劇中嘅深宵食堂一位廚師負責晒整個廚房與樓面因為係bar枱嘅關係廚師同食客位置相近可以隨時同食客介紹食物又或閒談幾句所以有時放左工無野做我都喜歡黎小酌一杯今日放工又黎到明治居酒屋用美食治療一日嘅辛勞手造免治雞肉棒燒雞肉鮮嫩無豬肉咁死實粗糙蘸上鮮蛋入口更嫩更滑阿波美雞翼簡單嘅燒雞翼連雞翼尖都燒得脆脆崎玉味噌炸薯仔薯仔外皮略略炸過成型內裏粉糯沾上香濃味噌醬飽肚之選柚子胡椒酒煮大蜆記得要呷一點酒大蜆鮮甜無沙份量可以金星豚肉泡飯泡飯米粒圓潤濕濕地好易入口再同廚師閒聊幾句今天嘅辛累就留今天我又滿血復活了!

我和朋友約好到一家居酒屋聚會。由於朋友已經在家吃過飯,所以當天我只點了一份鹿兒島豬肉卷燒飯團作為主食。這份飯團的份量很足。對一般食量的女生來說絕對能夠滿足。飯團包裹在薄片豬肉裡,入口油香四溢,非常美味。飯團有兩種建議的食用方式,第一種當然就是直接吃。而第二種則是用生菜包裹著飯團。我嚐試了第二種方式,加入蔬菜後飯團口感層次更豐富,且能減少油膩感。然而,由於用生菜包裹後飯團的大小稍大,吃起來會比較狼狽。我們還品嚐了白鱔串、馬友一夜干及喝了一點點酒,這些食物都很美味,這頓飯很盡興喔!

呢間日本居酒屋真係好氣氛, 有日本明冶時期感覺之餘,亦富有西方現代感 。經廚師介紹,其中最出名嘅係馬友一夜乾。馬友魚肉鹹香味十足,魚肉非常嫩滑, 外皮煎到非常甘香脆口, 可以話係食香味俱全, 必食推介👍另外,白鱔串燒都好正,燒得啲白鱔啱啱好, 肉質非常彈牙,帶啲焦香,再襯返啲醬汁,真係好惹味!免治雞肉配蛋黃汁渍, 雞肉和雞軟骨的比例恰到好處 ,香嫩嘅雞軟骨混合金黃色嘅蛋黃醬 ,一啖咬落去非常有風味。燒雞腎串,個味道好濃郁,加埋啲鹽同椒,咬落去爽脆,沒有丁點兒腥味,食材非常新鮮。辣汁花螺, 啲花螺煮熟之後再加入甜甜地嘅辣汁,汁同花螺的味道完全融合埋一齊,入味。和牛黑手黨三文治,啲牛肉煎到啱啱好, 完全張澎湃嘅肉汁鎖住,配埋醬汁同蔬菜,夾喺烘過既麵包度, 麵包不但吸收咗多餘嘅肉汁, 食落去非常有層次感,好滿足。
