去了中環國際金融中心的稻菊日本料理,目的是想吃一餐好的天婦羅。試過多家被認為是最好的天婦羅店,但始終覺得與日本的有很大的距離。一向也知道位於尖沙咀帝苑酒店內稻菊所做的天婦羅甚有水準,但由於不想過海,加上聽聞稻菊的天婦羅價錢不菲,所以未有成行。今年稻菊在香港區開了舖,懶過海的我終於可以一試了。午餐的天婦羅套餐份量很少,頭盤是沙律和4片魚生,正菜有6件天婦羅,分別是魚、蝦、蟹和另外3件蔬菜。用料很新鮮,這當然是做天婦羅最基本的要訣。此外,食物炸得算是恰到好處,粉漿不厚。老實說,整體來說是甚有水準,值得一試。價錢呢?每個人的準則不同,午餐$400一位貴不貴呢?視乎你的心情吧!

Eeeps! I forgot to praise their tempura.Again, all my comments are restricted to one Luncheon visit.Excellent Tempura, I must say, the fish and the shrimp are very fresh, "lightly" battered, golden fried, NO OILY, stale greassy TASTE...which we are so used to in Hong Kong that we forget...what more can I say...Note that my ratings are always relative to Price, quality, quantiy...

Well, yes, bring your platinum/black cards or wads of cash with you if you are going to eat here. You are paying for water front rental costs...and, very high grade fishes.Yes yes, there are actually different grades of Tuna, and various grades of Fatty Tuna (Toro). Now...I've had one of the all time best Toro Sushi...here, just the other day for lunch. Can they keep up, I do not know but it was good, the rice was done very well. * I am not Japanese so my assessment could be skewed by my lack of knowledge.

The set course was just sufficient, I believe it was around HKD500+. I chose the one with sashimi. Most people I know in Hong Kong knows Japanese food by two things - one (Toro), two (Toro) which are really not the top on Japanese sushi diet...but who am I to say!!! Well, the sashimi came with a couple pieces of the all time best akami I've had. To me, that's sufficient to earn a high grade in my book.

Service was adequate. I would not say it is the best but then, can't rate it against a top notch fancy dressy Frenchie restaurnt either. Very clean and if you like harbour view, well, there it is.

Highly recommend, no no...not for regular lunch or dinner, unless you have 8 figures in your Net Worth...but for at least a taste of finer Japanese (Sushi/Sashimi) cuisine.

Came here for business lunch. The four of us ordered 1 sashimi set, 1 tempura set and 2 sashimi rice + tempura soba sets.Sashimi set:The sashimi came IMMEDIATELY after we ordered it. Before salad. Before soup. Before everything. So it just sat there for 20 minutes before it is its "turn"Tempura set:The tempura came soon enough ... but the (white) rice came 10 minutes later. Again, the tempura was the first thing to come ... and the soba actually came maybe 30 minutes later!!! When we asked (several times) the waitress said the soba was being cooked. It was cooked alright. WAY OVERCOOKED to the point there wasn't any texture left.

Overall, the food was at best mediocre, but the service really terrible. All four of us agreed we wouldn't come again. Not even when it's paid for.

兩個人食無叫酒都過$2000,實在貴得過份!以sashimi platter為例,有約5-6款sashimi,每款2片,非常新鮮,但係好似要$800.另外佢個鰻魚有點霉,ie.好淋.食物幾好味,個view都幾正,不過都係試過就算,下次都係返Nadaman.個價完全係買decor+ambiance.

前排同日本老細去左呢間餐廳, 招呼真係好好, 個個都識講日文, 而且我地坐sushi bar前面, d野壽司好新鮮, 而且好多都係入口即溶, 同埋一口一舊, 好正宗. 我地仲食左天婦羅, d蝦都好新鮮, 其他就一般, 不過比係尖咀個間好味好多, 價錢就一樣. 不過最好味都係個蜜瓜, 雖然$150都係得一件, 不過真係好甜同好juice, 係出面食唔到的. 仲有個環境真係好靚, 看晒成個sea view二個人食左$3000, 都真係幾貴, 但係就勁好味而且勁飽..

稻菊在日本大名鼎鼎,特意和朋友去IFC的店去試試,結果很失望。我們三個成人,叫了三款會席料理(以刺身、壽司和牛肉為主)和一個稻庭烏冬,但味道真的一般,魚生不特別新鮮,牛肉也一般,總之就是吃完沒特別感覺那種。誠然,他們的東西並不“難吃”,店內的環境、服務,甚至食物的presentation都一流,不過,我們是去吃東西的,食物的味道才重要吧,加上埋單落樓要2800元,我覺得很不值得!

When we first walked it, we got a good impression, but when we left, we only had one word - ordinary. My companion had the Teppanyaki Keiseki and I had the Sushi Keiseki. As for the Keiseki - it was so ordinary, no artistic flare at all. These are supposed to be the chef's seasonal recommendations? They have more tasty and creative Keiseki at the Landmark Kiku (owned by Maxim's group)! When we paid the bill, not even a word of thank you hen we left the restaurant, not even good bye OR a thank you from the head waiters in black suits. Oh well. For that special dining experience, I would not recommend this place. It's expensive and ordinary.

聽朋友講無論装修,景觀,食物質數都是最高級的,明知超貴都要見識吓。論装修:瑩光地板似中環一般Bar,其它很大路,冇Style。景觀:對面座君臨天下望去中環先至叫全球最靚夜景。食物:刺身靚過見誠,其它太壞石嘞,不過全部大師級水準,無計盛惠$1500-人頭,但完全唔飽。見識過算啦,起碼同朋友都有得吹吓!

A light dinner for 2 people:
- one-person teppanyaki seafood kaiseki set ($780)

The "kaiseki" set was really just like any other normal Japanese multi-course set dinner, thought calling it "kaiseki" really ends up making the specific term rather meaningless.

Overall ambiance weas lovely, high ceilings, well-designed modern interior, lots of Japanese details and references, fresh flower arrangements, great view of the harbour. If you are thinking of taking a date though, think twice, because it's popular with well-off families (with small children). I personally enjoyed the casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Assorted tempura was fine (2 prawns, 2 bits of fish, and some vegetables) but overpriced. I would say you could get pretty much similar quality at 1/3 or even 1/4 of the price at one of the very good cantonese restaurants with a chilli salt deep-fried mixed platter. (Try Ka Kei in sheung wan).

Teppanyaki set included:
Startrers: salad (lettuce, cherry tomato and sweetcorn, underwhelming but at least the corn was fresh not canned). Tofu (homemade tofu skin with uni and an interesting sauce. Unusual combination that worked well). Cube of braised turnip with salty topping.
Sashimi (3 tiny pieces of tuna, 2 whitefish). Quite fresh, but not spectacular.
Seafood (lobster, scallop, squid, fish): super fresh flavours, well-seasoned, nicely done. The fish was slightly overcooked.
Fried rice: nothing special. Normal teppanyaki fare.
Dessert: small piece of red bean cake. Tiny, strong sweet bean flavour. Nice.

All in: food good, not spectacular, great setting and friendly, knowledgeable, attentive service make up for the moneys paid. Might be worth trying more sushi/sashimi for freshness. Good place to take important client.

去食晚飯落order, 等20分鐘都未上到菜, 份量小得很, 壽司味道卻只是一般,樓下間迴轉壽司仲好味, 鐡板大蝦無鮮味,薄燒牛肉算係ok, 全部4道菜賣相沒有驚喜. 每道菜之間仍要等好耐, 如果肚餓千萬不要去. 食左個半鐘, 悟夠飽, order 多左個炒飯, 等到呆左, 叫佢cancel 先知waiter 漏單, 叫佢漏單就算la, 悟想等, 埋單千幾蚊, 仲食悟飽, 不會再去.

萬眾矚目稻菊開幕去試一試,見到個menu全部都好貴,叫隻炸虾(因為係稻菊最出名嘅野,不過最後虾天婦羅成$150一隻,再加埋一咪$165>>>>>>>>>>>>結果食左兩隻,略為炸漿太薄,只食到虾味但冇天婦羅感覺,魚生壽司係咁意都一百幾十蚊件好唔化算,最後点左個壽司拼盤,都係不過不失,叫多個牛肉鳥冬成百蚊個,食一餐飯二個人食成千幾蚊,都係食唔飽,為左名氣,就要付出代價乎.......
