22 April 2007 (Sun) - Birthday Dinner (9)上網睇到呢度好評都幾多,即管來一試!首先佢既門口其實只係一個後門,都唔緊要,入到去環境清幽,只有一張枱係有人,但係居然冇人感應到我哋既存在,我哋己經特登發出啲嘈音,因見個貌似經理既男人喺度serve緊唯一一張枱既人,我都唔好意思阻佢,但我確實會覺得佢係可以擰轉面同我哋講聲等等!然後佢終於發現我哋,就領我哋到一張四人枱!店子裝修非常簡單,可以講句無睇頭,望望張menu,見到佢有個$500 per person 既set dinner,同仲有一個$588既dinner for two!見dinner for two有個海鮮盤,想知道有啲乜,咪舉手問嗰個男經理,佢好快亦好細聲地講咗幾樣海鮮,我大概都聽到既,但正當我想再問佢問題時,佢已經走開咗,我咪同朋友講’我都未問完,咁快走咗去’,仲要個男經理答問題時面黑黑,毫無表情,亦無為我哋介紹任何好嘢,到底一間法國餐廳係咪應該咁樣經營?我唔知,我只知同一條街既其他法國餐廳絕對唔係咁樣待客!然後我心已對此店無好感!最後我哋都決定咗叫個dinner for two $588

上網睇到呢度好評都幾多,即管來一試!首先佢既門口其實只係一個後門,都唔緊要,入到去環境清幽,只有一張枱係有人,但係居然冇人感應到我哋既存在,我哋己經特登發出啲嘈音,因見個貌似經理既男人喺度serve緊唯一一張枱既人,我都唔好意思阻佢,但我確實會覺得佢係可以擰轉面同我哋講聲等等!然後佢終於發現我哋,就領我哋到一張四人枱!店子裝修非常簡單,可以講句無睇頭,望望張menu,見到佢有個$500 per person 既set dinner,同仲有一個$588既dinner for two!見dinner for two有個海鮮盤,想知道有啲乜,咪舉手問嗰個男經理,佢好快亦好細聲地講咗幾樣海鮮,我大概都聽到既,但正當我想再問佢問題時,佢已經走開咗,我咪同朋友講’我都未問完,咁快走咗去’,仲要個男經理答問題時面黑黑,毫無表情,亦無為我哋介紹任何好嘢,到底一間法國餐廳係咪應該咁樣經營?我唔知,我只知同一條街既其他法國餐廳絕對唔係咁樣待客!然後我心已對此店無好感!

最後我哋都決定咗叫個dinner for two $588,貪佢抵食又OK都嘢食!

首先黎個頭盤,係seafood platter,份量都唔錯,中規中矩,而且係另一個女侍應serve,我心情都好少少!有四隻大生蠔,半隻蟹,4-5隻蝦,6隻青口,同4-5細螺!份量真係幾好,生蠔都幾鮮味,唔駛落tobasco同海鮮汁都可以,蟹就只有半隻,好難分,蟹肉唔係太多,但係蟹膏則非常多,啱晒我!海螺雖然細隻但夠爽口,蝦仔則無甚特別!至於青口,真好笑,個殼咁大,但係啲肉細得好緊要哩...

然後就有個咩’um 春脾’沙律,味道普通囉!再黎就係個湯,我同好友都叫咗南瓜湯,但真係好麻麻,係就係好creamy,但係好奶味囉,比較唔似南瓜!好友飲咗一半就放棄啦!

再黎就係個主菜:牛油魔鬼魚同白酒青口天使麵;魔鬼魚好多骨,煎得稍燶,較咸,唔係非常美味;白酒青口天使麵好唔得,雖然好大碗,但首先我冇預計係湯上,第二係佢啲青口太多(但細),好難食到下面既天使麵,第三係跟本冇白酒味,第四係啲天使麵好硬,冇味....

最後個甜品先係最失敗同最失望...我見有得揀chocolate pudding,心諗今次冇死啦,我最鍾意既朱古力軟心蛋糕都有,點知-_-",想死,原來只係一個好細好細既朱古力布甸....好失望呀,好唔開心...

除咗個seafood platter係一讚之外,其他包括男經理,食物,裝修,我都不敢恭維...
埋單另外仲要加水費$20!

對Bravo有著一分感情,有點私務要辦,又順道吃個簡單的lunch。一如以往的好招呼、亦一如以往的先來杯自製的peach punch,當然亦一如以往的清甜。這裡的大忌,是要解釋「清碟不能」的原因,解釋得不夠好,經理會極為內疚,所以撇開分量十足的商務午餐(很想吃餐牌內自的釣魚說...)點了Bacon Carbonara,前菜要了沙律。先來一籃餐包,塗上鹹牛油,牛油溶在微暖而軟熟麵包內,簡單滋味。經理非社交形分子,沒有曼谷泰菜老闆般熱情,但問到菜式的用料及製作,皆知無不言,簡單的沙律,用的是有機蔬菜,味覺魯鈍,吃不出分別,卻感受到點點心機。喜歡白得漂亮的法國野菌,結實而帶自然的田園菌味,蘸點點微甜的balsamic,伴些少松子,是自己最喜歡的吃法。人漸多,侍應小姐與經理幾乎忙得應接不下,卻沒應該出菜次序,主菜總是在適當時候出現,通常是前菜吃後的5分鐘左右,換叉加水,井然有序。又試試Carbonara,芝士與蛋產生出微黃的sauce,滲著濃郁而杰的sauce輕黏著自製的pasta,半生熟的pasta,有著說不出的煙韌,sauce雖然不能緊緊包著pasta,但就算是無sauce的pasta,亦

午市由初初的50%入座率,升到95%,見小店備受欣賞,感動。

看到這間餐廳在Openrice有好評, 於是來試試這裡的晚餐. 叫了一個2人餐, 頭盤是海鮮拚盤, 有半隻蟹,青口,蠔,蝦,螺, 蜆. 蟹甚多羔, 且有鮮味, 很少能有這樣盡情地吃的豪氣, 如吃大閘蟹的羔的話, 兩三匙就吃完了. 吃得出海鮮很新鮮,蠔沒有腥味, 很肥美. 跟著是鴨腿沙律, 這個沒甚麼特別. 湯我選了蘑菇湯, 湯很熱,有大量的蘑菇蓉在內. 主菜我選了龍蝦麵, 到那時候其實我已飽得吃不下任何東西, 為免浪費美食, 我請侍應打包, 相信翻熱後味道應該不錯.甜品有多款選擇, 分別挑了橙味及玫瑰味雪糕, 內有啖啖橙肉及玫瑰香味,侍應說是自家製. 附隨餐飲熱咖啡的奶是熨熱的, 可見細節上也很周到. 不得不提的是餐前赠飲的Peach sparking juice甚為好喝,侍應也說是自家製. 不如大量生產, 相信應有如我這樣的捧場客!

這是一個先減肥後增肥的周末. 經過一眾波友們漫長的研究及討論, 下半場的地點依然難有定案, 差一點就去了茶記雲吞麵鋪, 幸好最後一刻終有定案, 目的地為中環Bravo Latata, 總算不用勞動完畢後求其填肚作結.餐牌上的選擇不少, 但現場燈光實再太暗,無太多心機去詳細研究, 但有人推介膏蟹及生蠔, 及經過侍應推薦後, 決定要了兩個有海鮮拼盤的套餐. 餐前先送上一杯Peach sparkling drink, 清涼潤口, 不錯; 與此同時請侍應將我們自攜的白葡萄酒冰鎮一下.海鮮拼盤(兩個餐份量)有法國膏蟹一隻, 肉質雖然較粗, 但不失鮮甜, 蟹膏頗多且甘甜; 細小的海蝦, 翡翠螺及法國青口各十數隻, 都相當鮮美, 另有兩款法國生蠔(忘了甚麼名)各四隻, 兩者都相當新鮮肥美, 一款口感圓潤另一款則較重海水味但蠔味十足, 絕對值得一試.之後上的餐湯, 我選了蘑菇湯, 無論味道, 口感都相當對我胃口, 可算是我吃過最好的蘑菇湯之一. 跟湯的法包本來味道一般, 勝在夠熱, 而且送上的牛油亦頗香濃, 兩者配合, 實在沒有難吃的道理, 結果也全給我們清理掉. 接下來的四個主菜為羊扒, 牛尾,

餐前先送上一杯Peach sparkling drink,
清涼潤口, 不錯; 與此同時請侍應將我們
自攜的白葡萄酒冰鎮一下.

海鮮拼盤(兩個餐份量)有法國膏蟹一隻,
肉質雖然較粗, 但不失鮮甜, 蟹膏頗多且
甘甜; 細小的海蝦, 翡翠螺及法國青口各
十數隻, 都相當鮮美, 另有兩款法國生蠔
(忘了甚麼名)各四隻, 兩者都相當新鮮肥
美, 一款口感圓潤另一款則較重海水味但
蠔味十足, 絕對值得一試.

之後上的餐湯, 我選了蘑菇湯, 無論味道,
口感都相當對我胃口, 可算是我吃過最好
的蘑菇湯之一. 跟湯的法包本來味道一般,
勝在夠熱, 而且送上的牛油亦頗香濃, 兩
者配合, 實在沒有難吃的道理, 結果也全
給我們清理掉.

接下來的四個主菜為羊扒, 牛尾, 煎魚,
及乾火腿白汁意粉. 印象最深的為牛尾及
意粉, 牛尾勝在選用近牛身的部份, 肉夠
多, 而汁亦做得好好, 此味無論牛尾肉質
的口感及調味都令人相當滿意; 火腿白汁
意粉的醬汁煮得較為厚身, 但料足味濃,
風乾火腿碎的鹹香跟濃郁的白汁是意料不
到的配合, 相當對我的口味; 羊扒鮮嫩,
火候亦控制得好, 只是略嫌羊味輕了一點,
否則會更得我心, 而一客只得兩支骨, 作
為主菜, 就算只供一人享用, 份量亦只勉
強算是合理. 煎魚非我所好, 只輕嘗一口,
無甚麼特別印象.

主菜吃罷, 見還有紅酒, 便另外又叫了一
碟法國風乾火腿大家分享, 份量不算很多,
但質素好, 論香味及口感都比一般十二個
月的意大利貨色都要優勝, 貴一點也值得.

餐後還有自選甜品, 我選了Creme Brulee,
份量雖細小, 但水準亦高, 當然收貨. 朋
友的玫瑰雪糕亦頗特別, 軟滑雪糕中藏著
深紅色的花瓣碎, 吃下去隱隱透出清淡的
玫瑰香, 又是一絕.

說說笑笑, 飲飲食食間, 數小時轉眼又過,
這個周末無論上下半場, 都令我相當滿足.
相當期待下一個"先減後加"的周末.

Reserved at Latata 2 weeks ago for Valentine's Day. Special place for me and my lady friend since we are regulars there and wished to go to a familiar place and primarily for the French oyster (highlight of the meal). The person taking the order simply asked for name. We asked repeatedly if any further information was required. And the person assured us no. On Valentine's Day, called up to make sure that the time was right since we had reserved two weeks ago. Seems like within the two weeks they

Reserved at Latata 2 weeks ago for Valentine's Day. Special place for me and my lady friend since we are regulars there and wished to go to a familiar place and primarily for the French oyster (highlight of the meal). The person taking the order simply asked for name. We asked repeatedly if any further information was required. And the person assured us no. On Valentine's Day, called up to make sure that the time was right since we had reserved two weeks ago. Seems like within the two weeks they had a change in policy and needed a deposit. They claimed that they had notified me through phone calls. Long story short, our reservation was cancelled on Valentine's Day despite having the reservation confirmed and assured by them no further steps needed to be taken. And I understand that while Valentine's Day is a great day to make money, think there's a need for meaning what you say and not add clause later as and when you feel like it. No great loss though. Had a GREAT buffet dinner at Excelsior Hotel. Extremely fresh oysters from 4 continents and seafood as well as other delicacies!!! AND what made it all special was the warm service from the servers of the oysters taking the time to introduce the different varieties of oysters from each continent. Guess I will know where to get my next oyster fix from now on!!!

平安夜眾人在友人家中,開生日兼聖誕派對,今次實行假手於人,除席上有友人自製食物外,還有來自五湖四海的外賣.豈能甘於平凡,只要連鎖快餐店到會?除來自鏞記的內陸飛天燒鵝外,太興原隻燒豬,潮州村的鹵水鵝肝,尚有D先生驅車到中環Soho,Bravo Latata帶回來的海鮮大會.有生蠔,海螺,冰島蝦,法國蟹,生蠔肉質爽口,點點鐵味加海水味.冰島蝦鮮甜多春.非常新鮮.在這普天同慶之日子,一大班人聚首一堂,摸酒杯底輕談淺唱不夜天,此刻無價.

好友是我唯一一個過10年的朋友,以前讀書的時候,永遠都是出雙入對,尤如孖公仔.她生日當然要好好安排.蛋糕,紅酒,花.....生日會開始.由於壽星女遲到,我地幾個朋友同經理傾咗一陣,佢亦樂意為我們安排.生蠔係壽星女最鐘意食,所以海鮮盤一定咪走雞,而且再加多一打先夠喉.無花果沙津和鵝肝是經理推介的,非常滿意.因有朋友唔食牛同羊,所以主菜食了魚柳,唔好以為差都幾鮮味的,再叫了個風乾火退意粉.有一種香味很特別!服務員很主動為我地分食物,增酒,和解答問題.蛋糕送上時,亦會播出生日歌.不收開瓶費,亦不收切餅費.我亦回了個大禮,開了一紅一白.哈哈!

找地方與友人晚飯, 首要條件是開瓶費要收得便宜, 記得年多前光顧過這家餐廳, 不收開瓶費, 食物水準亦不錯, 於是翻兜.餐廳為每位客人送上餐前飲品一杯, 雖然只是有氣果汁類物體, 但可見其細心. 見每檯客人都order海鮮, 應該不錯吧, 反正我們有瓶白酒, 便先來一隻法國膏蟹及生蠔.膏蟹頗大隻, 肉質粗糙, 但蟹味尚算鮮甜. 蟹蓋內的膏, 多得足夠我們三個人逐匙逐匙的分享, 非常滿足. 這蟹不用三百元, 抵吃. 生蠔只有兩款選擇, 都新鮮肥美, 三十多元一隻.喝光了白酒, 意猶未盡, 叫了一杯house white跟朋友share. 相形失色, 倒是應份的.再來無花果沙律及羊奶多士, 前者好像每次光顧都有吃, 個人而言已無驚喜; 後者帶濃烈的羊奶芝士味道, 好此道者如其中一名友人自然吃得津津有味, 我則大感吃不消了.還有瓶紅酒, 主菜就點了兩道紅肉. 烤羊架我們要medium, 上檯卻只有medium rare, 我們也無所謂. 羊架的肉質很嫩滑, 肉味卻輕. 燴牛尾腍得來保留少許咬口, 醬汁也惹味, 不錯.正猶豫吃什麼甜品之際, 經理已提出給我們送個dessert platter,

再來無花果沙律及羊奶多士, 前者好像每次光顧都有吃, 個人而言已無驚喜; 後者帶濃烈的羊奶芝士味道, 好此道者如其中一名友人自然吃得津津有味, 我則大感吃不消了.

還有瓶紅酒, 主菜就點了兩道紅肉. 烤羊架我們要medium, 上檯卻只有medium rare, 我們也無所謂. 羊架的肉質很嫩滑, 肉味卻輕. 燴牛尾腍得來保留少許咬口, 醬汁也惹味, 不錯.

正猶豫吃什麼甜品之際, 經理已提出給我們送個dessert platter, 真好. 四款甜品以小杯載著, chocolate pudding以前已試過; creme brulee好香滑; 玫瑰雪糕比想像中清新; 香橙sorbet有絲絲橙肉在內, 很認真. 原本經理想給我們試榴槤sorbet呢, 見我們耍手擰頭才換上橙味.

餐廳不收開瓶費, 還有decanter, 難得.

(4)當我拿著相機舉手(其實想請侍應替我們拍照時),侍應竟為我們埋單;

今晚的'驚"歷實在難忘,我們歸結的經驗是, 生日不要試新野!

1st with all due respect let me say that others reviewer seems to have different taste than mine or totally blinded tastes buds. Well, quality of food in general is one thing but a dinning experience is another. At Latata, I had a wonderful dinning experience. none-the-less, you can't have a good dinning experience without wonderful food.

At Latata everything is flavorful, fresh, and natural. The wait staff is not as professional as they could be. When I asked for a reservation, they acted as if they never worked a telephone before. It is understandable as English is not their first language but still that's no excuse.

I do admit that the charges for water is not good.

However, i guess the free juice made up for it. Thou i should be given a choice. The free juice is one of the little things that made a dinner into a dinning experience. The juice was very good and tasty, thou non-alcoholic. It's really too sweet to be something that starts the dinner but pairs extremely well with the seafood. (but then not everyone would order the seafood to start.)

Now, as to the seafood platter, it was awesome. The oyster was wonderful. Of the two types, both were great. The fancy sea water type was not my fav because it was too salty. Given that the oysters are not the best that i ever tasted, I give it an 7or8 out of 10. The mussels are all perfectly cooked and it's havenly with a little bit of pepper on it. Shrimps are great, in fact they are the best cocktail shrimps i ever tasted. They are very flavorful with an interesting texture. Other things are good. (crab is good may be somewhat like chinese cold crab.)

The bread are very tame. The butter is simple. I think they should bake their own bread and serve with clarify butter with herbs.

now... it's a tough call as to when the bread should be served. i think serving it after the cold seafood is well executed but the wait staff should bring the bread pretty much right after the menu. Thou things worked out fine for me, it was not planned.

well, the bread is great with the FULL FLAVORED soup. all i could say is that the soup is dense. It was great and was made with all natural ingredients, it seems. We had the pumpkin and mushroom soup. i wonder how many types of mushroom is in the soup. The flavor approaches complex. The taste was great. The pumpkin soup was very good and brightly yellow like cheese fondue. it was great with the bread even when the bread was nothing special. The only problem was that the pumpkin soup was really sweet, the kabocha might be involved but i don't really know. A roasting prior to making it into a soup could have that effect. I can't see how another reviewer could compare it to a cambell soup. i would love to have the cambell soup that could come close to Latata's pumpkin soup.

The salad was nothing special, just not something bad. The vinegar was not spectacular but good quality. It's a "seafood" salad, it seems very very japanese to me, because the salad had fish egg roe in it. (just a personal thing) The fish egg roe was a nice touch.

The main course was great. i had rack of lamb. it's perfectly cook. i am disappointed that I was asked how well done to do it. My theory is that the quality and cut should dictate how welldone the meat should be and the chef should be the judge. The customer who would not even have a clue as to what the meat looks like should not be the one deciding how to cook it. I guess Asian often tends to want things well done and having that option given to the customer is the way to go. (btw I am Chinese) The source was a kiwi, i think, and it was great. It has a tiny sweetness and works great with the lamb. The fresh apple cube with chopped mint was a wonderful side for the lamb. i guess it helps to tenderize the meat too. A good choice of source suppose to be the mark of french cuisine, i guess. The source was at the bottom and not on top of the meat, a more or less modern touch. However, all food was classically prepared and no surprices, pleasant or not. Mustard and mint jelly came sparately. They are of good quality but very "store brought". The wait staff gave me way too much of both. I don't mind it but it was a waste. I was given way too much mustard and mint jelly and way too little pepper. i was too happy to have a pepper mill at the table.

The other source with our pigeon was very good but not spectacular. I guess the chef was no oldschool master french chef. (Those sources always have too much cream and butter anyway.) The pigeon was very good and tender. I love how some of the edible innards was left on the bird to provide an extra kick. all side dishes are so so so old school. I don't want thanksgiving food when i go out for dinner. Oh don't let me forget to mention that all meats was very flavorful and i don't mean salty.

Desert was good. I don't think the chef really knows desert well. BUT the important thing is that he also knows that fact. The chef did only deserts that he knows enough of and did nothing fancy. Everything was well executed. We had the chocolate mousse, chocolate pudding, and the creme bulee. The Chocolate mousse was perfectly wipped. The texture was great. The cold pudding was well done. The creme bulee was still warm inside and it was good. Good but not great. The portion was very well planned. It was just enough and not too tiny. it was not too much so that you can't finish it and be too stuffed. None of the desert is too sweet. The deserts was not in the full flavor mode like the rest of the food served. I like that as my taste buds finally gets a break.

in fact, i think the house juice should be served in place of a desert wine. Note that all deserts available are a sort of mousse, may it be pudding, cheesecake, or creme brulee. No pastry or syrup was in any of the deserts.

tea and coffee are not bad, ok.

星期一,約了大惡男午飯,提議來這裡,因為聽過個名咁耐都未試過。一時到來,人客不多,這裡地方不錯,加上柔和音樂,都是一個午飯的好地方。聽了店員的推介,沒有興趣,反而要了個羊奶芝士多士沙律。餐前一杯果汁汽酒,店員說是自家製的,甜甜地也沒甚酒精的味道,都不錯,起碼是誠意可加。餐前的白法包烘得香脆,雖然樣子有點不修邊幅,可口。店員見我們吃得快,也立即多來一籃,吃到不吃為止。湯要了蘆筍湯,味道濃郁,不錯;主菜的羊奶芝士多士,烘熱上檯,臊味幾濃,我當然不介意,叫得羊奶芝士就預了有這股臊味。吃落沒有之前在Delenley吃到那個羊奶芝士那般有臊勁,不過臊香芝士加上脆熱的法包,配合混合了紅酒醋的沙律菜,都是一個幾清新的配搭。惡男要了店員推介的青口天使麵,份量相當之大,青口味道幾鮮味,都不錯。餐後甜品四選一,我選了很少會在午餐時吃的玫瑰花雪糕,估不到都不錯,都有淡淡的玫瑰花味,吃完羊奶芝士,拿這個雪糕來清新一下味蕾就正好。店員服務非常好,細心亦一絲不苟,對於幾十蚊一客的午餐來說,是做足本份有突,值得一讚。埋單給惡男請了客,真是非常多謝。來吃一次午餐,想不到這間本地人經營的法國餐廳都不錯,值得一試。

About 2 weeks ago, my friend introduce to me to go the restaurant was called " Bravo Latata " . Firstly, when I arrived there near seven but they haven't another customer there. Firstly, when I arrived there near seven but they haven't another customer there. A girl who short hair and wear earring very nice.

Next, A strong man who wear a glasses introduce what the special tonight. When I order seafood platter which included crab, oyster , sea whelks and prawns.etc

Thus, I order the Fig salad which coming in France ( The man talk to me ) and I feel fresh but the salad sauce little bit pour.

Later , I order seafood soup and mushroom soup . I think the mushroom soup so creamy but the seafood soup so good.

In the main course . When I order piegon because the waiter who curly hair said the sauce can't make with another shop.

My friend order lobster pasta which make me surprise because the lobster so "big" and the sauce mix the pasta very good.

Finally , I try the Rose Ice- cream and Cream Burlee . But this 2 desserts make me disappointed because Rose ice-cream not included taste of Rose , similar added some syrup about Rose and to common about Cream Burlee .

So I suggest if add some decoration about desserts make better.

Conclusion , The restaurant so far so good .
Although the waiter not to professional but they very nice and politely. The food also fantastic.
Try to your best.
