如果你係Gorden Ramsay 既忠實Fans, 有個好消息告訴大家。現在除左係佢其下餐廳可以試到佢既菜式之外,仲可以用foodpanada 外賣速遞送到府上。▫️終於可以一邊食佢餐廳嘅美食,一邊煲佢啲YouTube聽佢鬧人,哈🤣。▫️其實今次係我第三次可以間餐廳,因為我都幾欣賞Gordon Ramsay既廚藝,今次去佢哋餐廳試咗好多美食,而且主廚已經轉左另外一位,所以所有食物比我嘅感覺都耳目一新!真心講,而家比以前更加好味,而且食得出廚師嘅細心,所以值得去再幫襯。

先嚟飲品熱朱古力同埋鮮搾蘋果汁。其實店員有特別推介一款 mixed juice,但係加咗 carrot,所以都係唔好搞我。杯熱朱古力係唔錯嘅,味道唔會太甜,仲有棉花糖添!(但比較特別嘅係,棉花糖都最後都唔溶嘅?!)

另一個揀咗 Egg Benedict。朋友大讚呢度嘅 Egg Benedict 係用 ham 嘅,因為大部份餐廳都會用佢討厭嘅三文魚做配料。認真係幾好味,但略嫌隻碟太細,要切開嚟食時有啲唔夠位。

Right, back to normal programming....

One of my foodie buddies recently and somewhat sheepishly admitted that he'd never had a beef wellington before; then almost embarrassingly, I had to admit the same.  So what were two food heads to do?

As it turns out, we're one of the lucky cities to have a couple of Gordon Ramsey restaurants with the famed and classic dish on the menu.  So we picked the time and date, then waited impatiently for the day to arrive.

It was a Friday lunch and while we were the first to arrive at Bread Street Kitchen, it was bare moments before every seat in the stylish but casual eatery were filled with excited diners.

Such is the pull and allure of one of the world's most popular and polarising chefs - Gordon Ramsey...

I'd had to pre-order the beef wellington; and while it's possible to just rock up and order on the day, you'll be waiting a long time, so it's best to order ahead.  So the only decision we really had to make while we waited for the dish to arrive was which sides to accompany the dish.  We settled on portobello mushrooms sauteed in garlic butter and a healthy green salad.

The moment arrived when our waitress carefully made her way from the open style kitchen to our table with a huge bread board, literally covered with a beautifully presented Beef Wellington.....

It's probably timely to explain just what a beef wellington is and to do so, I'm just going to quote Wikipedia


"Beef Wellington is a preparation of filet steak coated with pâté (often pâté de foie gras) and duxelles, which is then wrapped in puff pastry and baked.  Some recipes include wrapping the coated meat in a crêpe to retain the moisture and prevent it from making the pastry soggy."
Gordon Ramsey is recognised as the master of the beef wellington, which I guess led us to that magical moment when it was presented to us.  A thing of beauty, dining buddy Steve and I were speechless to begin with; we almost didn't know where to begin; but eventually the spell was broken and we eagerly lifted the pastry wrapped rare beef and added to our plates.

Oh-my-God, the beautifully tender beef was expertly cooked and when devoured with the earthy mushroom and crispy pastry ensured that we shared something special - and never to be repeated...

That first time I had beef wellington....

Sigh....

The rest of the meal was a food coma induced haze, there were desserts, yes, I'm sure (mainly because I have photographic evidence!)

Steve went for the Strawberry Tart with pastry cream and basil, which was very pretty on the plate and wonderful to eat; the crumbly base cooked to perfection; the curd, creamy and sharp was perfect against the sweet cream; most impressive were the fresh strawberries which brought the tart together.

I couldn't look past the Mixed Berry Eton Mess with whipped cream, chunks of meringue and a whole heap of berry coulis.  One of my favourite desserts of all time, I loved the crunchy texture of the sweet meringue in contrast with the even sweeter cream; ensuring it wasn't sweet on sweet, the sharp berries brought the dessert back to earth.

I'm not gonna lie, the desserts were great but pretty much faded into the background of my memory.  All I can really think about was that beef wellington and the utter perfection that the dish represented.

I'm definitely gonna need to take the girl real soon; once she reads this, she is going to be a little annoyed I think....

Do yourself a favour and get into Bread Street Kitchen and order that dish!

Wellington Beef:一上檯見每人兩塊都目瞪口呆,因為真係好大塊。用酥皮包住牛柳同蘑菇醬,牛柳好嫩,牛味幾濃,另外兩樣嘢當然冇咩特色,而成個菜整體味道都偏淡,要蘸個燒汁嚟食,汁料味道就普通啦。而且比較唔好嘅係細嗰件一夾過碟嗰陣會散,好在厚嗰件就冇問題。

另外叫咗杯Mocktail,酸酸甜甜幾啱胃口。


本來嘅打算係試完兩樣名菜再叫其他嘢,但我哋兩個食完呢樣嘢後已飽到連甜品都食唔落......

嚟得呢度就預咗唔會平,不過只係食咗兩道菜加兩杯飲品,埋單每人唔使700,還可以啦。

整體水平唔錯嘅,但真係未至於好出色。或者要再試其他嘢先知,畢竟今次食嘅嘢太少。

Yummy lunch sets, good for sharing among us. We get to try out different starters, main and desserts. The steak is gigantic, I don't think I can finish by myself. Starters are light and yummy to boost our appetite for the main course. Desserts are always my favorite. I can finish all three by myself. The opera cake is my favorite and I can eat more. With the free lunch card, if you collect 8 stamps, you get one free set lunch for your next visit. It is definitely a good deal for people l

Monday supposed to be the most miserable day among the week but with Gareth's fun and vibrant teaching techniques, he gave us lots of laughters throughout the night. The course starts at 6:30pm with iced wine and canepes. Then, Gareth demonstrated all the steps how to make the perfect Beef Wellington and also gives us all the insights working in a steamy hot

I definitely will go back again to try out other dishes invented by Gareth. Can't wait to try lobster wellington soon!

I was trying to plan a special early surprise for my mom's 60th birthday, and was fed the idea to try out a beef wellington masterclass at Bread Street Kitchen. I was intimidated by the name at first, and imagined that it would cost a fortune, but it turned out to be worth every dime with lots of value-added extras as well ;)

A little backstory entails me trying out BSK with my best friend when it first opened back in about 2014/15 (from what i can remember?). We were both super excited to try out a Gordon Ramsey affair, but was left rather disappointed. Both felt it was more style, over substance. Over-hyped. 

This time, I was going into it with a fresh look, a second chance - Since Chef Packham was shipped in just 9 months ago with passion, verve, energy and determination to turn the beat around! I am guessing the Masterclass was one of his initiations, so I thought, "why not"? I'm sure glad I did.

We ended the night clutching our bellies and having a laugh with the other guests. The service was warm, attentive and wonderful. Chef Packham was hands-on, friendly, and ever so jolly. We all thoroughly enjoyed the full experience and would definitely go back for many meals to come!

Highly recommend the Masterclass to anyone looking to brush up on their cooking skills, or learn a few tricks to impress the ladies/men. If you're not as ambitious, why not head on over to have a casual but romantic date night with the hot other half, or just with a few lads or girlfriends?

平常來都好多人,今次星期一,不用等位,其實夏天無咩胃口食,所以叫了一份main share 加些甜點飲品。餐包 (7/10)和暖的餐包充滿香草和蒜香味,又夠軟綿的。Steak Pudding (7/10)偏濃味,牛肉煮得剛好但調味太重,吃不清牛肉的味道。酥皮太乾,整體感覺只是一般。Harlem Handshake (8/10)酒味不重,雪糕已溶化,香香甜甜的,味道還不錯。Chocolate Tart with Salted Caramel Ice-cream (8/10)朱古力味好濃帶苦,雪糕好好味,詢問店員得知是mövenpick 雪糕。價錢味道尚可,但若以名人掛帥便是合格而已。

約舊同事食飯,他想在中環食西餐,就訂了Gordon Ramsay的這餐廳。約兩年冇來,原來現在已有set lunch供應。我與舊同事均選了2 course lunch,他點了flat bread 作頭盤再加fisherman pie 作主菜,我也是叫fisherman pie作主菜但加甜品。本來打算各有各食,但他的頭盤比想像中大,我就幫忙吃了1/3,味道其實一般,而且有點太咸。主菜的fisherman pie也是較咸,反而甜品最好食,sticky toffee pudding 配上clotting cream,蛋糕吸收了濃濃的toffee sauce,而份量也比想像中大,店員很細心的知道我們會share吃就一早已為我們二人換了碟及刀义,值得稱讚。

朋友成日話:Michelin star係Europe 都唔一定準,出左歐洲就簡直係笑話。我唔完全同意,但都覺得有一定道理。今日食brunch, 真心覺得好多野言過其實,浪得虛名。環境可以,但cozy(唔好聽即係迫囉!),食物味道多數普普通通。價錢中檔價位。周圍客人(西人)講野豪邁奔放(即係嘈到拆天吖)。 For god sake, 我認為整體名不副實,甚至想講 please, please give me a break.

名氣餐廳既野,就梗係留番super Monday 買一送一既時候先黎試啦,皆因身邊朋友都話唔抵食,可以一試但唔需要急於去食喎食完覺得朋友既評價好中肯,真心覺得為左Gorden Ramsay可以一試,但唔需抱太大期望.兩個人一共叫左4樣野食,而且係食得哂既(真係好擦得....)Risotto 同 Gnocchi 當係前菜, 兩樣都唔錯,無過份咸主菜我叫左魚,老公點左Ribs, 兩樣都只係一般,無驚喜,如果唔係super Monday ,應該都唔會有下次lu

上次試過佢啲扒類、真心覺得好唔錯,今次一齊六隻腳,全部都食牛,去到梗係叫威靈頓牛扒,一坐低首先叫咗先,因為牛扒要等45分鐘,之後都叫番上次啲豬扒同魚,但今次重點是威靈頓牛扒,三個字**好失望**,塊牛扒出邊包住一層蘑菇、再包一層酥皮,上枱嗰陣已經切好一片片。賣相的確唔錯。但1. 放入口已經唔熱,係一啲熱力都冇;2.酥皮一啲都唔脆皮,厚酥皮唔脆你話點搞,感覺一個麵包夾牛扒感覺;3.入面嗰層蘑菇偏苦味,苦蘑菇搶晒牛扒的味道。最後我搵到一個好食嘅方法,將蘑菇同酥皮完全分開,淨係食塊牛扒係最好味……, 我相信會再去的時候,只會叫barbecue pork chop and rib eye 。今次劣評完全因為佢哋個招牌菜*威靈頓牛扒*😞

是夜屋企人約我話出街食飯,由於佢地住中環果邊,咁男友就提議話不如試下依間好出名名廚gordon ramsay既餐廳啦!咁打去BOOK位都有位,地點近LKF都OK既。去到,男友話要試最出名既beef wellington,另外我地叫左wild mushroom risotto with quail eggs and tarragan/traditional shepherd's pie with braised lamb, potato puree, brioche garlic crumbs/Tomarind spcied chicken wings, spring onions coriander. 先講最普通既雞翼先,唔係特別十分好食,只可以叫正常水準。當我地order左個beef wellington之後,個大廚都出埋黎同我地介紹點食呀盛,係nice既,但好可惜,我真係唔識欣賞,食落去覺得係苦既,個酥皮包住舊牛有PAT野係最苦!而個汁亦無幫助!成件牛晒左‌!我問屋企人覺得如何,我都驚係我口味問題,佢地都話唔係好食。其實用酥皮包住件牛已經好怪,仲要配既sauce咁難食都係第一次。到

屋企人生日,預早48小時前預訂,阿妹之前講過要兩個禮拜前先訂到,可能熱潮已過所以容易訂位,其實我唔係好鍾意睇Gordon, 因為佢成日鬧人,想像之中好似從來未笑過。不過阿妹話想試好耐所以就去試一次,今次沒有吃威靈頓牛扒,因為六個人之中有兩個唔吃牛肉,所以今次叫咗豬牛羊魚、當中牛同豬最出色、Ribeye medium rare, 皮脆肉嫩、就算有肥膏的地方,也可以吞落肚,而且塊扒無筋、值得一讚。另外叫了一個pork chop, 未吃過一件豬扒可以煮到咁嫰滑、好吃指數滿分。 其他好似魚、羊相比之下就好一般,另外介紹佢啲薯條、好味。當中叫咗一個雞肉凱撒沙律,沙律都係好一般,但啲雞肉好嫩滑、一啲都唔鞋口。另外兩個魚嘅頭盤都唔錯,可以一試不過價錢貴左少少。呢個周末我再約朋友去試威靈頓牛扒,到時再話比大家聽😁後記:我哋食到差不多10點,個廚師得閑出嚟問逐枱客人意見。very nice place 👏👏

一收工就出左去中環搵一個好耐冇見嘅朋友食飯 咁啱嗰日大家都想食西餐 於是就去咗Bread Street Bar n Retaurant 食飯餐廳環境唔錯 氣氛很好 好適合同朋友一齊傾計 由於嗰日下午食咗個下午茶 所以唔係太肚餓 於是order左一份炸魚薯條 薯條同炸魚都揸得香脆 味道就冇乜特別 不過未食過嘅朋友都可以去試吓嘅
