After Clubbing went to Cul-De-Sac with my friends. They said their Poutine is really good which I never have a good Poutine in Hong Kong ever. Poutine is a French - Canadian concoction comprised of french fries, gravy, and cheese curds. The most important part for a poutine is the cheese. It needs to be a FRESH white, cheddar cheese CURDS.These curds taste and texture very different than actual cheddar cheese. The cheese curds squeak in your teeth as you bite them.It tastes really good and brings the harmony of flavours.Anyone hungry for a big bowl of poutine?!!!

每次經過「Cul-De-Sac」,都總會被它香噴噴的洋蔥及薯條香所吸引;喜愛它有露天的座位,悠閑不焗促,很有在倫敦街頭的 Chipper 吃 Fish and Chips 的風味。這裡的名物是即製芝士漢堡及熱狗。是日中午不太肚餓,吃不下漢堡,只輕點一杯白酒及一份 french fries.餐酒只是$45 一杯,在蘭桂芳算是划算。French fries 即點即炸,輕灑胡椒與鹽,佐以白醋,好吃,這刻真的以為自已身處英倫,滿足又飽足。上足電,下午又再回辦公室,繼續那沒完沒了的工作。。。

Wanted to visit Cul-de-sac for quite some time. Lunch date with S postponed for quite a number of weeks. But after this first attempt I am not inclined to revisit unless absolutely, absolutely necessary. Environment:Super greasy. If you're wearing a suit do take it off before you head to this joint. Um no then your shirt/blouse would smell oily and greasy and you don't want to smell like that in front of your client or boss. Well if you do decide to come make sure you get a place at one of the tables outside where ventilation is much better. S and I sat inside, and...we smelled like deep-fry when we left. ewee. Service:Quite friendly. Yep. No complaints there, and quite attentive. He gave me a knife for my slice of pizza, probably knowing I wouldn't be eating with my hands but with fork and knife. Thankyou. Food choices:Many burgers. And a few pizza choices. a couple salad choices. Caesar salad around $50Yes they gave me romaine but the dressing was way too sour and thick. They also tossed it with too much dressing so that each and every leaf was drenched in dressing. Secondly the 'parmesan' that was supposed to go on my caesar was replaced with 'Kraft's cheese sprinkles' yeah the stuff that comes in the eerie green cylinder you know what i'm talking about. I forced myself to finish the bowl of salad because it was expensive. Oh, nothing in the caesar apart from a couple croutons (literally, ovened brown bread, cubed), romaine, dressing, and cheese sprinkles. Not good. Shall never order this again here. Mushroom pizza slice around $35 Bitter disappointment. At $35 a slice I'd expected something much more tasty. The cheese had no flavour, was too thick and rubbery. The 'mushrooms' were literally sliced canned button mushrooms. No flavour, no texture, plain bad. Not worth my calories. But to be fair the crust was quite yummy - thicker than what I'd usually prefer yet crisp and dry, not soggy. Texture-wise it was okay but flavour-wise and topping-wise it is a huge no-no. Perhaps the others will taste better?Philly cheese steak burger set around $80S ordered this. I poked at the cheese, beef, green peppers and onion. Tasted alright. The beef was quite tender but it's not top quality beef, what do you expect. Didn't try the bun though. Not much comment on this. The fries were delicious though, crisp, salted, unhealthy, hot. Conclusion:Considering the fact that there are LOADS of other burger/pizza joints in LKF, cul-de-sac is definitely on the bottom of my list, for now. Perhaps next time I should really try one of the burgers they're known for. I'll have to come in a tshirt I don't fancy though - don't wanna get grease all over items i like .@@

自從 Shake Em' Buns 開幕以來我都有定期去品嚐他們的cheese steak 的習慣但不知道是不是太久沒去,總覺得今年他們的食物質素好像下降很多雖則如此,cheese steak 的吸引力還是很大,就決定要找到能取代 Shake Em' Buns 的餐廳不記得是在看哪位網友在 Shake Em' Buns 裡寫的食評,裡面提到對Cul-De-Sac 做的Philly Flyer的評價甚高,二話不說,那天就立刻去試他一下店面不大,是一個Bar形式的餐廳,只點了Philly Flyer 我就坐下來等order內餡的牛肉跟洋蔥和青椒都是現叫現炒,炒好放在烘過的麵包裡再撒上grated cheese,放進烤箱裡讓他融化,烤好就跟薯條放在同一個紙盒裡,整個過程不到10分鐘,新鮮做好的Philly Flyer 已經準備好了拿回公司裡吃,連旁邊的同事都聞到那股香氣,都紛紛圍過來看我的午餐刨出來的cheese融化掉以後有濃又香,美中不足的地方就是沒什麽醬料,吃起來相當的乾,配薯條後更覺燥熱下次再來一定要在店裡吃,配一點芥末和番茄醬應該會更好

多年前在倫敦某一夜,於King's Cross車站附近的Club蒲到差不多天光,熱鬧過後,加上酒精一再沉溺,肚皮空虛到極點,行出車站的小路,竟然有部快餐車在打救一眾蒲海飢民,當我拿上手,就算只是熱狗,一放入口,吃得非常滋味.結果還來多一個漢堡包,一邊吃一邊步行回到下塌的青年旅舍.在香港夜蒲,老實講比英國幸福得多,我說是飲食上之"After party",你知彼邦完全沒有宵夜可吃,與香港的不夜飲食文化,完全沒有得比.就以灣仔一帶為例,昔日在灣仔盧押道的"Cul De Sac",是一眾活駱遊之仕的救世神棍.可惜現在已結業,剩下老蘭的一間.老蘭的分店,除賣小吃,更有各式酒品供應,一樣有歡樂時光,當它是一間酒吧,也行.漢堡包即叫即製,用上紐西蘭"一級"牛肉來自家製漢堡扒,包身熱燙鬆軟,漢堡扒肉質鬆軟有肉汁,但肉味不強,漢堡包內還有芥辣,生菜,洋荵,番茄等等.炸魚薯條與昔日灣仔店一樣,不是正宗的Chips,而是用上大size的fries,不過都香脆鬆軟有薯味,炸魚脆漿加上香草,令到甘黃香脆的外層,添一份幽香.魚肉鮮嫩不腥,伴他他醬雖然是現今吃炸魚薯條之潮流,但也不要忘本,白醋幾時都是炸魚薯條之最佳朋友.此份炸魚薯條賣$94一客,則比較貴了一點.店內的牆上,貼上世界各地不同的紙幣,全部是客人寫上之字句,有示愛,有到此一遊等等,全部拼貼一起,有種錯摸的匹配.平日老蘭人流不多,見到一家大細在酒吧前拍照,自由人當老蘭為景點,唉,如今真墮落得太過份矣.
