The night that I spent in Louise was so good!!I will definitely put that restaurant on my favourite list and wish to go more often First they offered us a small appetite which is cucumber and sth, I wasn’t sure and it taste sweet and sour, prefect to start with! We ordered 6 oysters, and they were beautiful, either on the looks and taste. Have to mention that I’m not a huge fan of oyster, but this one got me Of course that we have the yellow chicken, before trying this dish, it was ridiculous

Of course that we have the yellow chicken, before trying this dish, it was ridiculous to me that a roasted chicken cost ard HKD 1000, however, after trying this fabulous chicken, that was so so so worth it. The chicken was juicy, tender and infused with rosemary and the skin was super crispy. The taste was on point and I don’t think anyone will not fall in love with it!
It also comes with a risotto, that was cooked with chicken stock and they put some crispy chicken skin in to give it more flavour! We 2 girls ate everything, literally everything!!! Because it was so GOOD!!

Readers who follow my writings know that hospitality and professionalism are taken as seriously as food quality. Being hosted by someone who cares about and knows what they are doing can salvage an imperfectly prepared meal, but even the most exquisitely prepared dish could not remedy a server that upsets you whether out of pure incompetence, neglect or simply having an attitude. After all, what can be worse than losing precious time dining at an establishment that frustrates you rather than off

Readers who follow my writings know that hospitality and professionalism are taken as seriously as food quality. Being hosted by someone who cares about and knows what they are doing can salvage an imperfectly prepared meal, but even the most exquisitely prepared dish could not remedy a server that upsets you whether out of pure incompetence, neglect or simply having an attitude. After all, what can be worse than losing precious time dining at an establishment that frustrates you rather than offers you a pleasant mental space for recharging and socializing?

Louise is a beautiful restaurant sitting inside a two storey heritage building that triggers colonial nostalgia, its outer walls hanging a proud Michelin star shield. Beneath the façade, however, seems to be a fairly undertrained team where servers were either nonchalant or quite unable to handle communication properly. The food that we had were elegantly plated and produce was of good quality. Not 9/10 good, but solid. The frustration that our server had caused from an incredible lack of competence, however, revealed serious loopholes in the restaurant’s management expertise. To avoid the risk of ruining anyone’s dining experience, and in light of the number of choices we have in the city, I would not recommend Louise.

“Polmard” beef tartar, French fries, salad, $258
The tartare was very finely ground with a buttery mouthfeel and I wonder how it is that an aged steak could help the flavor grow into such a fine balance of delicate and sharp. Seasoning was minimal so as not to distract one from the meat itself. I had beef tartare at another restaurant a day earlier and the difference was particularly stark.

The octopus salad comes with cucumber, tomato confit, sweet piquillos and pesto. The octopus was chewy but tender, with a slightly citrusy flavor, pairing fine with a crunchy salad base that looks and tastes like summer, or the Mediterranean, if you will.

Problem Rundown

Before entering the restaurant, I completed a health declaration for both of us, as is the norm everywhere else. The server glanced at it and, seeing that I had only written one name, questioned rhetorically whether “it was two names or not“. We thought that she could just have asked me to fill in both my name and my partner’s directly. But I could still give her the benefit of doubt there.

What was really astonishing was how the server and the kitchen had handled our special requests, the foremost being that we would like to finish our meal within fifty minutes. Our server was comradely and assured us that was no problem at all. We were also subsequently told that our main course, which was sole meunière, only takes fifteen minutes to prepare. That, along with a beef tartare and an octopus salad to start, should be well within our time budget. In the end, our main course came at 13:10 (we arrived promptly at noon and ordered within five minutes of sitting down). In the interim, we had checked numerous times about the fish with our server and the only phrase he would repeat was that it would come as soon as possible and that it was already prioritized by the kitchen, and this was despite my specific question that he let us know exactly how much longer the preparation would take. The third time I had asked the server, he finally agreed to check with the kitchen and came back with an answer of 2+4 minutes. It took a little over ten minutes from his answer until the fish was placed before us. Being pressed for time and having waited about forty-five minutes between our appetizers and main courses, as well as experiencing a difficult time communicating with our server whose English was incredibly unclear, we simply left the restaurant without eating our main course.

In addition to that, we mentioned that we’d like the dressing for the octopus salad to be served on the side. That request was also mishandled. The salad came drenched in oil and when I spoke to our server, he stated that as the octopus was marinated in oil, the oil on the greens came from the octopus. But that was highly unlikely, as the entire salad was evenly coated in a rich layer of oil. It was so difficult to communicate with our server that I just ordered another straight salad without oil/ dressing to save the hassle.

My partner felt so offended and frustrated that he did not feel the restaurant could right his experience through discounting or other means, so he paid the bill in full before speaking with the manager, Marc. Marc was somewhat apologetic and sent over a message later that day, hoping to make up for our experience. I appreciate his effort to reach out, although we were too discouraged by our experience to want to return any time soon.

And oh, when my partner asked to speak to the manager, Marc nodded and said he was the manager. In his message, though, his title was Head Sommelier, which is a great example that about sums up the lack of clarity in communication at Louise. To be fair, if we didn’t have any requests, we may just have been satisfied, but I had greater expectations for Louise. After all, it is the ability to handle the ad hoc needs of diners that is the real test for a restaurant’s professionalism.

米芝蓮一星餐廳主要分兩層dining room & drawing room, 兩層嘅設計都唔同,本人比較喜歡地下drawing room既設計!* 嚟呢度食梗係要食佢嗰隻主打本地黃油雞Poulet jaune roti , 話晒成隻雞一定夠四人食,正式上菜前侍應將成隻烤雞令俾我哋睇,陣陣香草味已經吸引着我了,用咗本地嘅三黃雞,雞尾插着香草,跟住侍應就會拿返去廚房將隻雞斬件,隻黃油雞好嫩口,好夠滑,胸肉都唔覺鞋口,叫呢隻雞仲有日本新瀉米飯和沙律菜跟,呢個飯簡直同呢隻雞好配合,啲飯嘅質地好好食好似一粒粒嘅蒸飯,更用咗雞湯去煮,所以個飯特別香,上邊佢仲加咗啲蔥同脆薄薄,一啖飯一啖雞好正,另外仲有醬汁可淋在雞上,呢隻雞係必食!

We went there for our wedding anniversary, as we enter the restaurant, the environment is very warm and comfortable. We order their signature dish yellow chicken and a starter. They were both delicious.But at the end we can't finish all, the yellow chicken is very filling for just two people.Almost all the staff came and talk to us, we feel really welcoming, they even explained how they cooked the dishes. Definitely a wonderful experience for us. Highly recommended this for a romantic dinner.

這班尼迪旦和平日的真的有一點點分別。這水波旦真的煮到剛剛好,用叉一刺,旦黃緩緩的流出來,伴以煙燻火腿、嫩菠菜苗和自家製的軟身薄餅麵包,真好吃。那荷蘭汁既有旦香,又帶牛油香,加上微微的酸,吊起旦黃和煙火腿的味道,整體香滑豐潤,又唔會好膩,不錯!

本以為牛肉他他會細細碟,估唔到這道菜份量十足!生牛肉牛肉味濃郁,加埋旦黃的黏滑,味道豐盈油潤,再拌以酸種麵包,煙韌鬆化,好吃!薯條炸得香脆唔油膩,鹹香又有薯味,不沾茄汁也ok. 再吃一口沙律清一淸味蕾,很滿足哦!

這奶白咖啡用了豆奶,這豆奶比我平日飲的豆味比較淡,咖啡的味道比較溫和,沒有特別濃香,但沒有酸味,還可以吧。



這餐廳的環境、服務和餐點水準都不錯,而收費是中價cafe的價位,怪不得訂座早早爆滿了。

The decoration of the bar and the area where people have tea and drinks looks very nice, but it was only 2 meters away from our table at the drawing room. The drawing room was pretty small and only fit 4-5 tables (with good distance from each other). It was not a "wow" environment but quiet enough to enjoy a good meal. 

Service was good, servers were nice and friendly. Our server gave us some recommendation of the dishes and set us pretty good explanation. 

We started our meal with this really amazing sourdough paired with their homemade butter. It was super smooth and creamy. I could have this all day!

We ordered this appetiser: Smoked organic egg, potato, chorizo, buckwheat. Very interesting with the foam on top. It's like eating mashed potatoes mixed with egg and cream with strong chorizo flavor.

We also ordered some sides (both potatoes - big mistake! should have ordered some green instead!)



La truffade - Sauteed potatoes, young cantal cheese, garlic, parsley.  It was sooooooo delicious! The potatoes were sauteed by garlic and parsley which then baked in thick cantal cheese. I was too full by that point and i only had a few slides. My husband finished the whole pot on his own, too good!

Wrapped up our dinner with a 'Grand cru" chocolate mousse cake. I was very very full but still couldn't resisit it!

Overall, the meal was very decent. No dishes disappointed us. They also have a wide range of wine selection as well (of course). The only thing that I think needs to work on is the cocktail. Also the menu station next to our table (it was very distracting when the servers kept walking to our table to fetch the menus behind my right shoulder).

We booked a table for 6 for a Friday dinner and wanted to add one more person but Louise kept saying they were not able to accommodate 7 people and could only confirm to us re the availability on that Friday; on that day, Louise called and said they could give us a table for 7 but we must take their set menu at 1,458/person + service charge. This set menu thing has never been communicated to us at the beginning, just because we have more people then we’re forced to take the set menu, what kind o

Asia best restaurant no.1 星加坡嘅Odette 就一流,唔知佢哋嘅Chef Julien 來香港開嘅Louise 又好何呢?今次午餐時間來試試,安排二樓嘅Dining Room,環境一流,好warm, 招呼亦都好好。頭盤當然唔少得Odette都有嘅Oeuf fumé 即刻係smoke egg, 滑一滑嘅薯蓉加上buckwheat, 整體滑滑嘅只係chorizo咸咗小小另一個頭盤係grill mackerel,新鮮嘅魚配唔同味道嘅醬,好突然出主菜當然係 Poulet Jaune Rôti 配 salad 同埋 Nigata rice,本地黃油雞一d都唔輸比外國雞,雞肉嫩滑油份亦都焗到消失咗咁,加上脆卜卜嘅雞皮,再配埋飯。應該係最貴但係最好味嘅燒雞飯可惜已經飽到試唔到甜品,下次再試!

Louise 係一間我想試好耐嘅法式bistro 佢哋嘅裝修絕對吸引到我哋呢啲想打卡嘅港女 老實講佢哋嘅裝修絕對係冇得輸 而且本身未去嘅時候 上網見嗰個影佢一樓個露台個景真係好殺食 所以早左兩個星期book咗佢嘅一樓露台位 諗住母親節同家母食吓好嘢 但好心提下大家 夏天真係唔好坐外面 肯定你唔夠10分鐘就後悔講返食物 一開始就係衝着Louise 最出名嘅roasted Hong Kong chicken 去嘅 所以未坐低已經落咗order 首先要讚下佢啲麵包 真係幾唔錯 而starter我就試咗佢個croque ,beef tartar 同smoked organic potato 老實講三樣都唔係特別出色 我會話佢所有pastry 都唔差做到外脆內軟嘅感覺 但味道真係一般 而且唔知係咪個人口味問題 我知不嬲法國菜都係偏重口味 但成餐飯其實所有嘢我都覺得偏鹹 食完係會好口渴終於到我最期待嘅黃雞出場 呢個真係可以算係我成餐飯最失望嘅 因為我真係睇咗好多食評 基本上所有人都講到 呢隻雞有幾出色可能唔識食嘅我 真係唔太識欣賞 講唔出呢隻雞有咩可取之處 我見好多人話佢好嫩 我就真係唔多覺 而且

講返食物 一開始就係衝着Louise 最出名嘅roasted Hong Kong chicken 去嘅 所以未坐低已經落咗order
首先要讚下佢啲麵包 真係幾唔錯 而starter我就試咗佢個croque ,beef tartar 同smoked organic potato 老實講三樣都唔係特別出色 我會話佢所有pastry 都唔差做到外脆內軟嘅感覺 但味道真係一般 而且唔知係咪個人口味問題 我知不嬲法國菜都係偏重口味 但成餐飯其實所有嘢我都覺得偏鹹 食完係會好口渴

終於到我最期待嘅黃雞出場 呢個真係可以算係我成餐飯最失望嘅 因為我真係睇咗好多食評 基本上所有人都講到 呢隻雞有幾出色可能唔識食嘅我 真係唔太識欣賞 講唔出呢隻雞有咩可取之處 我見好多人話佢好嫩 我就真係唔多覺 而且好多人話佢味道濃郁 我承認嘅 但我亦都幾肯定 佢應該有落類似味精嘅嘢 因為本人對味精10分敏感 基本上一食完就會好唔舒服感到極度口渴 而我食完呢隻雞之後就係呢種感覺 我有諗過係咪其他餸嘅問題 所以我返到屋企有比第二次機會佢 將食剩嘅雞再攞返出嚟 點知食完都係咁口渴 我嗰晚飲嘅水應該係平時嘅兩至三倍 。。。

總之食完成間餐廳 我覺得係hype嘅成份比較多 可能係我叫唔啱一啲出色嘅餸 所以我食完真係完全冇睇其他人嘅食評嘅感覺
我覺得成間舖頭最可取嘅地方 就係佢裝修
你問我咁嘅價錢值唔值 我覺得見仁見智啦
不過如果大家想來打下卡都係可以嘅 但我就會建議大家嚟食個lunch好啲 如果唔係我驚大家都有啲失望

第一次來這裏,這裏的環境跟裝修讓我很驚喜,又漂亮又優雅。我們坐在balcony , 有一點像去了歐洲的餐廳一樣!我們點了3-course lunch course 。Fole gras 的湯味道很好。燴牛肉很稔、很入味。法國菜的甜品大概不需要擔心,味道很有保證很想再來這裡品嚐別的menu
