上星期同同事開完會,早早約埋去食餐好嘅與其去LKF, 不如去高少少嘅伊利近街,探探我嘅胡子叔叔 Mostaccioli Brothers, 好掛住佢地嘅味道~ 其實每次黎我都係同唔同嘅朋友黎,對上一次黎已經係半年前嘅事喇…………一黎到4個女仔已經趁HH 叫左d cocktail, 我……依然只係飲Proseco~~ (掛住飲冇影相)之後就黎左餐廳homemade 嘅麵包,當然唔少得佢地嘅蕃茄醬啦再黎就係佢d antipasti~ 女仔傾下計食下就最好,我地叫左3款Pepper Dew with Goal Cheese mushroom & eggplant仲有semi dried tomatoes當然…………仲有唔同類型嘅ham 同cold cut 份量比之前少左dd, 但依然好味!呢個係以前嘅份量我地仲叫左一份signature dish, Baked Mostaccioli. 仲有Chicken Parmasen, 芝士好香雞肉都嫩! 下次去再Encore!!Side Dish 叫埋佢個grilled potatoes, 我特別鍾意係餐廳食呢d薯仔,唔會失手之餘仲睇到廚房比幾多心

今日同事話想食牛排,咁咪行去SOHO睇吓食咩好囉,行行吓又嚟到上次walk in無位嘅mo bros,今次好好彩,竟然有位,不過慣常都係試唔到呢度嘅signature "herb roasted chicken",店員叫我哋下次book位時要order定,咁就一定有得試啦! 店員極力推介cod fish,搞到本來一心要食牛嘅同事都急轉彎,齊齊魚樂無窮啦! 店員先奉上微熱嘅餐包,麵包皮脆內裡鬆軟,無輪配佢嘅自家茄蓉醬還是就咁食都好好味!話咁快就食晒啦!跟住就係同事揀嘅是日餐湯 - 蕃茄雜菜湯,同事話呢個湯唔太濃,清清哋幾好。我嘅雜菜沙律都係好清,新鮮嘅蔬菜只係加上橄欖油,無落多餘嘅醬汁。 主菜嚟啦!cod fish 好厚身,肉質厚實鮮甜又滑溜,配上white wine cream sauce,完全無魚腥同雪藏味,店員果然無介紹錯!而伴碟嘅菜荳帶有陣陣嘅蒜香味,菜荳煮得軟硬適中,好爽脆!薯蓉食落好creamy好滑,但感覺一D都唔會漏! 最後飲埋個炭燒味頗濃嘅咖啡真係非常之滿足!下次嚟一定要試到佢嘅烤雞先得呀!!

店員先奉上微熱嘅餐包,麵包皮脆內裡鬆軟,無輪配佢嘅自家茄蓉醬還是就咁食都好好味!話咁快就食晒啦!跟住就係同事揀嘅是日餐湯 - 蕃茄雜菜湯,同事話呢個湯唔太濃,清清哋幾好。我嘅雜菜沙律都係好清,新鮮嘅蔬菜只係加上橄欖油,無落多餘嘅醬汁。

主菜嚟啦!cod fish 好厚身,肉質厚實鮮甜又滑溜,配上white wine cream sauce,完全無魚腥同雪藏味,店員果然無介紹錯!而伴碟嘅菜荳帶有陣陣嘅蒜香味,菜荳煮得軟硬適中,好爽脆!薯蓉食落好creamy好滑,但感覺一D都唔會漏!

Another of El Grande's restaurants, the brand which runs Grappa's, this time tugged quietly beneath Elgin Street. A stony stairway starting from street level leads you down to their open dining area and you are forced to make the decision between sitting in Hong Kong's warm and humid weather and the freezing indoor seating area. My suggestion: go for outdoors unless it's summer, otherwise with air conditioning blasting at full speed your fresh-off-the-grill veal will turn cold in just a few minu

Another of El Grande's restaurants, the brand which runs Grappa's, this time tugged quietly beneath Elgin Street. A stony stairway starting from street level leads you down to their open dining area and you are forced to make the decision between sitting in Hong Kong's warm and humid weather and the freezing indoor seating area. My suggestion: go for outdoors unless it's summer, otherwise with air conditioning blasting at full speed your fresh-off-the-grill veal will turn cold in just a few minutes. 

Complimentary house bread was a let-down, but the fresh tomato spread was nice. At least it gives you something to nibble on while waiting for your food to be served. The selection of appetizers is somewhat uninspired, but if desired, a variety of grilled veggies, deep-fried crab cakes and other seafood, chilled marinated dishes and salads are available and standard. 

Its namesake pasta, the Mostaccioli, is a plain pasta with tomato sauce spooned over the top. Though simple, it is rich and tasty. The secret? A well-steeped olive oil capturing the flavors from basil and garlic. Alternatively, order a baked Mostaccioli pasta for a more satisfying combo of Italian sausage and a golden cheese crust. With a generous amount of olive oil, meaty pieces of cured sausage and fresh parmesan and bread crumbs sprinkled all over the pasta, this is surely everyone's favorite comfort dish on any day. 

For meaty dishes, their well-buttered grilled chicken and veal scalloppine al marsala are particularly memorable: tender and deep-flavored. Your choice to serve it with roasted potatoes and grilled veggies, or rocket salad. 

Lunch menus are offered at a bargain but portions are slightly smaller than à la carte orders. They also serve brunches (of the English kind), at least on a Sunday. Prices are significantly less than at Grappa's, and though service standards vary greatly they couldn't possibly be worse than Grappa's in Central!

Overall Mo Bros is an excellent choice for casual and affordable "Italian", but for those looking for authentic fine dining, you'd have to look elsewhere.

I have previously tried to book this restaurant twice but it was full house, as I admit I only booked on the same day. I guess with good restaurants you should book beforehand. Luckily tonight I got a table as we are having a late dinner (9 pm) and must say it was worth my persistence to get a table at this restaurant. I have previously tried to book this restaurant twice but it was full house, as I admit I only booked on the same day. I guess with good restaurants you should book beforehand. Luckily tonight I got a table as we are having a late dinner (9 pm) and must say it was worth my persistence to get a table at this restaurant. Before ordering, the waitress already served us some warm bread with olive oil and balsmic vinegar. Good service and the bread tasted fresh and soft. For antipasti, I had Pepper Dew and Queen Olives. The pepper dew was stuffed with goat cheese. Normally I don't like goat cheese, but this one was creamy and mild and went perfect with those tiny peppers with the size of cherry tomatoes. The queen olive was crunchy and not too soft and salty like many other olives. So I was glad I have a good start to my dinner. All so perfect to go with my red wine, Aldegheri Sengia Rossa. For starters,  we ordered Crispy Squid, and the little surprise that came with it, was the crispy pickled gherkins that came with it. The squid was fried perfectly, crispy but not oily, and the tomato sauce for dipping has a slight spice to it.  For mains, we went for the Baked Mostaccioli, a moustache shaped pasta served with meat balls & sausages in a tomato sauce and a Veal Scalloppine el Marsala, veal with wild mushrooms, shallots and marsala wine sauce. 
The Baked Mostaccioli is a hearty  meal, perfect for an eveining after a few drinks ( you won't feel drunk after it 
) and the veal is a generous serving of two perfect veal scallops, with a brown sauce fragrant with mushroom. Usually the mushroom sauces I had before were creamy and this variation with wine and mushroom is much better as  it is not as heavy. For dessert, I finished off dinner with gelati with limoncello. Liqueur with ice cream has always been my favourite but unfortunatey in Hong Kong,  not many restaurants serve this, so I am glad I found this place! Overall a delightful meal and definitely worth the effort to make a booking in advance!
題外話/補充資料: Good service, nice decor, good atmosphere, and great food. Good for dinner for two or a party.

總括來說,身處於Soho區,這間餐廳只屬很一般,侍應態度ok,但不夠細心,每一次都要叫完再叫,才來加水,所以試過一次便夠了。

Pls stop claiming yourself as a doggie friendly restaurant on internet.I booked this restaurant as we have a very small doggie that doesnt bark or move, and as soon as we got into the restaurant on this sunday afternoon, the chinese female manager with glasses, and a western waiter saw the small doggie, they went mad and furious and its like they saw a virus/disease, and said we must not stay indoor and must go back to outdoor asap.Its the atitude that matters and also I am writing this to make

Its the atitude that matters and also I am writing this to make sure all doggie lovers - PLS STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT AS DOGGIE FRIENDLY IS A LIE. 

This restaurant will not have any issues, just say we hate dogs and then we understand.  Period.

Also I booked the table few days in advance and leaving all my details, but only because their staff didnt take down the details properly (luckily I asked for the staff name when booked), they said to my friend that I didnt make any booking.   However the restaurant was empty anyway at that time it was sunday afternoon yesterday.

Weird people, weird place.

今次再約舊同事食飯,事關上次我地2間揀左1間,今次就去埋另外呢間喇,唔洗諗,唔洗煩。呢度好唔起眼,差啲就搵唔到,好彩有個waitress咁啱行左出黎比menu我地睇,叫我地試下,我地先見到原來呢間就係我地原本打算去個度,哈哈哈哈,成班傻豬仔係度搵。我地跟住waitress行入去一條後行,又落露天既樓梯轉彎再轉彎,見到入面有類似露天茶座咁既擺設。但可惜,我地夜麻麻去,黑麻麻完全冇個種感覺。再行入啲見到有幾枱係度食緊野,心諗到喇!呢個時候waitress問我地要坐室外定室內,今日咁熱,我地梗係揀左室內喇。入到去坐低,4圍望下,佢呢度似係2棟大廈既basement位置~好特別!我地望望Menu,好似樣樣都想食咁。我地appetizer叫左個salad,clam,roasted potatoes同埋grilled mushroom,main就叫左2個pasta同埋chicken。傾下計,野食就到了,首先黎既係Salad同Clam,salad好甜好fresh,加埋我鐘情既Avocado同Goat Cheese,好開心。講到個Clam,不得了,脹卜卜的,第一次食咁脹卜卜既蜆,好肥美鮮味!呢個絕對值

傾下計,野食就到了,首先黎既係Salad同Clam,salad好甜好fresh,加埋我鐘情既Avocado同Goat Cheese,好開心。講到個Clam,不得了,脹卜卜的,第一次食咁脹卜卜既蜆,好肥美鮮味!呢個絕對值得推介!之後到potato 同 mushroom。一向愛食菇既我,竟然選擇食薯仔多過菇!可能因為個菇好普通,唔算突出,但個薯仔,佢地採用細細粒個隻兩啖一粒,好正好味。再黎2個Pasta,我地叫左Carbonara同埋Aglio Olio。2個都係我平時既指定食品,哈哈哈哈,幾乎次次食pasta都係食呢2款。呢度既Carbonara okay,只係有點"漏" ,好creamy,應該話有點too creamy既感覺,但佢麵質做得幾好唔會太硬,味道又唔差,啱晒我!另外既garlic chili pasta,都係麵質唔錯,味道都好好,唯一未夠好就係偏油膩,其他一切都唔錯。最後既雞,我只係食左少少,因為太飽了,但值得一讚既係,佢個肉唔"鞋"唔乾,都算juicy,非常好。總括黎講呢度唔差,只係"K驅"左少少姐。

As an ex-pat, I was looking forward to a pasta meal.  Upon sitting down in the outside terrace, (nicely blocked by a huge umbrella), the menus were handed to us.  I decided on the Eggs Marina which is a twist on Eggs Benedict.  Toasted ciabatta bread, avocado, smoked salmon and poached eggs with a hollandaise.  The eggs were cold unfortunately but they were a beautiful red yolk.  To me, this is a sign of freshness.  The bread was crunchy. Could have used more hollandaise and warmth overall.  I ordered a Bloody Mary which had no spice or alcohol taste.  Had to add some black pepper to give it some zing.

I would like to come back here to try the pasta dishes as well as explore the area in general. Very cool area to explore.

Had a reservation for outside, all OK there. Chose the set lunch menu, Minestrone Soup and the "signature: Mosticiolli pasta dish. Minestrone soup was cold. There was not much more than a thimble full of it, a tiny portion in a large bowl. We had to wait an age for the main course, I am always suspicious when waiting at lunchtime, having selectd their set lunch menu. It's all pre-prepared isn't it? The Mosticiolli pasta is basically overcooked penne with an ordinary tomato sauce on it. Oh, it was cold, I complained, had it taken away, waited another 10 minutes for it to return microwave scorched. Almost inedible. At this point it was about 2:30 in the afternoon and the restaurant was virtually empty. It took us an age to get the bill as well. Maybe we should just have left.

Anyway, won't be returning. it's a nothing restaurant, with food that is much too expensive for what it is.

我們四人各自選了個all day breakfast,都是以poached eggs為主,蛋黃是較少看到的橘紅色,流心程度恰到好處,蛋味亦很濃郁,完全掩蓋了hollandaise sause的味道﹔而配上ciabatta意大利脆皮包,也是個比muffin佳的另一選擇。

除了二人點了eggs marina,其餘的是all day breakfast salad & eggs parma。前者意外地吸引了大家的注視,原因是那帶烤餅味道crouton,以及bacan, sausage & chives也很惹味。而egg parma則以四片prosciutto (五香火煺) wrapped cantaloupe (羅馬甜瓜) 最搶鏡 (雖然甜瓜並不真的太很甜) ,或許是因為我們想像的只是幾片蜜瓜配parma ham。

最後每人還有一杯餐飲,我要的熱咖啡不過不失,並發現原來這店是Grappas集團的一份子,但相信這店走的路線跟其他的有點不一樣吧!
 

題外話/補充資料: 當我們發現沒有平日的set lunch時,同事是有點卻步的,但我要求先看看餐牌再決定 (因為我很想試菜=p)。一般而言,無論你選擇留下或離開,片刻的遲疑往往會令店員們臉露不悅,但這店的店員卻都十分親切友善,笑容滿臉地再介紹一下其他選擇,故我們最後也留下一試。

看上去只有小小的一碟,但其實都有蠻多粒的。兩款都是用橄欖油撈過,再加檸檬汁和香草調味,酸mei mei 的超開胃。可能怕酸的人會嫌酸了一點,但超對我口味! 其中蘑菇比小八爪魚好吃,小八爪魚多少有點韌韌的,吃多了下顎都幾攰ga。中間的火箭菜也是微酸的,清爽新鮮可口。

因為人數太少,只打算在四款前菜中揀一款。真的是一個很難的決定,因為我一向都十分喜愛義大利菜裡的前菜小吃!可以的話,不必叫主菜,多來幾個前菜小吃我會更滿足啊哈哈。最後,Crispy squid炸魷魚HK$92、baked clams焗大蜆HK$108、salmon carpaccioHK$108 薄片三文魚都輸給了Breadcrumb coated crab cakes HK$95。

直徑大約是3吋左右的蟹餅,色澤金黃,看上去不油不膩。輕輕把它切開,嘩,外表鬆鬆脆脆,更有一絲絲的蟹肉露出來!絕對不是麵粉多過蟹的Hea貸!非常的好吃!只是我不太喜歡帶有墨西哥風味的salsa 莎莎醬...

義大利是意粉的國度,不可能不叫個意粉吃吃。10款意粉,慢慢揀一個適合自己的都蠻花時間的。其中大部分都是HK$105, 試得過。

Mo Bro's 的意大利炒煮得比較乾身,有幾口甚至是有點兒硬硬的,算不上是al dente,應該需要多煮個1-2分鐘吧。但肉丸好好吃噢!肉丸剁得碎碎的,肉和肉之間的整合很好,蠻有彈性而且很多肉汁。切開這個肉丸,隱約會見到一些白白的汁液,猜想應該是加了芝士去整這個肉丸吧,難怪如此香口!

怕吃不完食物, 我們就沒有order Mains(只有西冷,羊架,三文魚和小牛肉幾款)直接來點side dish 伴菜好了。

小薯仔只有拇指頭大小,非常的迷你!烤得幾香,一口啪一個的感覺好好,而且小薯仔的皮很薄不會鞋口。

可惜Mostaccioli Brothers所提供的甜品只有3款而且看上去不太吸引,最終我們都是轉場去了Chocoholic 吃超級好吃的Brownie 去了。

題外話/補充資料: - * - * - * - * - * - * - * 如果沒有order 酒水,以上份量3個人share 人均消費不過是HK$120,在SOHO區來說是很抵吃的了。紅/白酒一杯大約HK$65-80 左右,也算是正常的價格範圍。很推薦大家去試試這家隱蔽的義大利餐廳!大家可以上他們的網頁下載菜單看看。(最近非常喜愛那些把菜單放上網站的餐廳,不單可以看看食品是不是對口味,也可以事先有個預算,做精明的食客 :P) 也建議大家先行訂位,因為餐廳真的不大! 向餐廳查詢過,星期五六日訂枱分為兩個時段,分別是6:30-8:30, 9:00-close。雖然對食客來說真的不甚方便,但也只可以理解…畢竟是香港中環啊。如果想食得輕鬆寫意點,不妨平日(星期一至四)去吃晚餐、或週未去吃個Brunch吧。

I've walked by Mostaccioli Brothers many times and after reading some of the reviews have decided to give it a try. we made a booking and even though we did not specify we wanted outdoor seating, the hostess was kind enough to give us a table. The restaurant has a much larger terrace than you can see when you initially walk down from the stairs. The terrace opens up on the back and you can see it has a great outdoor, back yard garden vibe.

We were then served with freshly made warm bread with tomato sauce. Despite it being a full house, the waitress was quick to attend to our table with waters and menus. They were attentive throughout the evening.

The menu had a wide range of variety, most of which are American Italian comfort food - hearty pastas, cold cut meat and cheese platters and good selection of meat option. I ordered a Pasta Bresaola where the pasta was made al dente with a delicious fresh tomato based sauce. The portions were just right. They had an antipasta deal where you can order 2 for HKD 70. We ordered lemon squid and green olives. All very fresh and a great start to the meal with our wine. The prices were very reasonable. The steak was HKD270, and the pastas ranged from HKD 100 - 150. These prices are definitely reasonable for an al fresco restaurant in Soho.
