友人生日飯,想搵個環境好坐得舒適的餐廳,選擇了outfloor坐,可看到外面景色,晚上都只是看到大廈跟燈箱,對於香港都市人,還是沒太大特別🙈所以下午應該會好點吧😎說說食物吧,

A friend took me here for my birthday dinner. When she booked, she requested a window table but was told we had to book one month ahead for a window table. We were seated in the corner table near the back of the restaurant. We ordered the Crab Cake (signature dish), Mezza Penne, Sea scallop Bomba Rice, Giant Fries w/ Truffle sauce & Tiramisu. Every dish was delicious but the Crab Cake was outstanding!! The presentation of the Tiramisu was very cool...the wow effect of dry ice and it was very yum

I would definitely return to this restaurant. (The wait staff needs to improve on their customer service - not very friendly and harly any smiles)

I planned to celebrate my friend's birthday with a drink on the rooftop bar and then dinner at Penthouse.  Too bad the rooftop bar was closed due to the strong wind.  We went straight to dinner.  The view was indeed magnificent but the layout of the tables caused half of the diners eating with their backs to the view.  What a waste!The bread was quite disappointing.  My friend's daughter, a self-learner, can bake better bread.  We ordered Foie Gras and Eel as the starter.  The two had no relatio

The bread was quite disappointing.  My friend's daughter, a self-learner, can bake better bread.  We ordered Foie Gras and Eel as the starter.  The two had no relation at all on the plate.  They tasted good but I don't know why they were put together.  The main was the very highly recommended Spanish Duroc Pork Ribs in other reviews.  Yes, the ribs were tender and melted in the mouth but not tasty.  I had to keep pouring the balsamic vinegar sauce on.  For dessert, we ordered Tiramisu and the one with Berries Sorbet.  They were kind of molecular gastronomy.  The look was not appealing and the taste was very ordinary.

The best of the whole dinner were the side dishes.  The Fries with truffle dip was a must to have.  The Roasted Asparagus was fresh and crunchy (only a few tiny pieces though).

The food was on the pricey side and the service could be improved - a waiter collected all our cutlery before we finished eating our food!!!

為了留肚給巨大豐富的甜品併盤,主菜只點一客 Lobster Tail ($398) 分享,成品一客有四份龍蝦尾,成品新鮮而肉質爽嫩,簡單以香草焗一焗已經鮮美好吃。不過更妙是底下的蕃薯泥,加了羊奶芝士及墨西哥辣椒(大廚很愛用呢)後,由單純甜味變成豐富多彩,我很喜歡的!

來到甜品環節--店內有三款甜品 ($98-108),也有全部兼得的 "HG's" Dessert Platter for "2 To 3" ($338),我們當然點它!這裡寫生日牌要另收 $38,為了三八妹開心,也照加啦~
 由侍者幫忙為非常不像相的兩姊妹,拍下數張合照後,許願及吹蠟燭後,也是時間開餐啦!要講這個併盤,定價比三個甜品合成更貴;不過就多了幾堆意式奶凍(最美味的也是它!),而且上檯時更加架勢。隨意的擺放方式,其實頗有點似兩姊妹想過要去的 Atum 啊!

仍然盡量逐一介紹吧,首先是 Warm White Chocolate Cake ($108) White Chocolate Royaltine, Toffee Sauce & Hazelnut Ice-Cream,原來是個白朱古力版本的心太軟,味道香甜不膩,皮薄而中間很流心,帶點拖肥味道,很不錯;可惜原餐單的榛子味雪糕在併盤上不復供應。

第二款是 Morello Cherry "Liquid Nitrogen" ($108) Ganache, Sous-Vide Cherries, Morello Cherry Sorbet, Blueberry Nugget & Popping Candy,成品既甘濃又酸甜,個人還是較愛甘濃而香甜的口味,不過加了爆炸糖及脆脆後,口感真的很豐富,最後也有清碟的。

最後的 My Tiramisu ($98) Mocha Foam, Milk Tea Parfait, Mascarpone, Marshmallow, Chocolate Soil, Crunchy Pearl Amaretti Cookie & Epresso Granita,味道與口感都很豐富,我極愛中間的奶茶雪糕,帶來更香滑細膩,似是鴛鴦的風味。又,成品份量巨大,鄰桌三人分享一個都夠!

而其實甜魔媽媽不建議選點併盤,因為中間份量最多的這椰子味分子雪糕(應該是屬於第二款甜品的),味道很淡很怪!我只幫襯了一兩口就放棄了,真的不喜歡,結果成唯一吃剩的甜品

一向對buffet 麻麻, 但今次全部都0岩食, 多HAM, 有buffalo cheese,
Focaccia 任夾, 仲有至愛pesto sauce (有時呢D响酒店BUFFET, 都係一時時有, 又或者buffalo cheese 得細細粒).



點左Porcini Mushroom Soup.
好味.

Lunch 可以坐到3點, 有景, 食物唔錯, 適合約朋友相聚

We were in Causeway Bay and found our restaurant reservation cancelled at the last moment but in stead of panicing, we quickly called a couple of restaruants in the area and found a table free at Penthouse by Harlan Goldstein.The restaurant was designed Kinney Chan and Associated with a New York-style penthouse in mind and as we stepped out onto the 30th floor, we were assaulted with the most amazing view of the harbor and the city lights that make Hong Kong one of the most beautiful night-time

The restaurant was designed Kinney Chan and Associated with a New York-style penthouse in mind and as we stepped out onto the 30th floor, we were assaulted with the most amazing view of the harbor and the city lights that make Hong Kong one of the most beautiful night-time city-scapes in the world. With plush leather booths and share dining tables, Penthouse looked like a cross between a swanky restaurant and speak easy bar.

Due to our late booking, we were placed at the bar, which as it turned out, was probably one of the prime spots for a meal. We were given menu's to look over, which was the first opportunity we had to figure out exactly what Penthouse was all about. Best described as Modern American with an Italian twist, the menu told a contemporary story of a restaurant aiming to appeal to as many people as possible. I know it certainly appealed to our group.

While we waited for our starters to arrive, beers flowed at the bar and a loaf of warm crusty bread appeared with a pesto spread. This was very well received as we were all a little hungry and keen to get on with the meal. The pesto sauce was fresh and zingy and worked wonderfully with the bread. I'd have loved the option of some butter thought, nothing is better on a cold winters night that warm crusty bread with melted butter!

First of the starters was SC's beef carpaccio roll with rocket, stracchino cheese and truffle. In all the years I've been dining out, it was the first time I'd seen a carpaccio roll. After trying it, I'm curious why I'd never seen it before, it was genius! I'm sure a lot of the genius was in the perfectly balanced blend of incredibly fine meat, cheese and truffle, drizzled with a little olive oil, but it was genius non the less.

I'd kicked off my meal with one of the many signature dishes that Penthouse had noted on their menu, the Spanish farm raised Blue Fin Tuna tartare with a slow cooked egg and creamy tuna sauce. I'm a huge fan of tartare generally and can be a harsh critic when a restaurant gets it wrong, but thankfully, Penthouse had nailed it (I guess it was a signature dish for a reason!). The tuna was fresh and tasted of the sea and once I mixed in the perfectly slow cooked egg, there was a rich and cream flavour that sat on the palate for some time after the dish was consumed!

A bold statement is made on the Penthouse by Harlan Goldsetin menu and it simply reads 'Harlan G - the king of pasta'. With a range of hand crafted dried and fresh pasta, SC chose to test out that bold statement and went for a hand crafted dried pasta of linguine with diamond clams, crispy garlic, white wine, parsley and chilli. Looking quite refined on the plate (for pasta anyway), the linguini was perfectly cooked and al dente and filled with loads of clams, both with and without accompanying shells. Like all great pastas, there was a simplicity to the dish that screamed understatement but in reality identified itself as a great pasta dish.

Loving the idea of so many signature dishes, I couldn't resist trying another of Penthouse's highlighted dishes, this time a risotto. But not just any risotto, it came with arborio rice, Maine lobster, Sukura shrimps, lobster sauce, basil and bottaga. The first thing I noticed was the deep orange colour of the risotto, closely followed by many large chunks of expertly cooked lobster. The risotto was laid out in the more traditional flat approach which allowed me to marvel in its beauty. My first mouthful was a joy, the deep flavours of the lobster sauce were wonderful and the rice perfectly cooked. It was quite a special dish, but it was perhaps just a little bit too rich and too tasty... I actually couldn't finish it off (although I did eat all of the lobster chunks)

It was dessert time and after such a filling meal, not everyone was keen on a sweet way to finish the meal. My dessert was the simply named white chocolate dessert, which looked a little busy on the plate and while nice, was a little confusing to me. There was a white chocolate cake and a creamy sauce, both nice, but there was so much biscuit and crumble on the plate, that for me, threw the balance of the dish out. There needed to be more sauce to balance out the very dry feel of the dessert.

The other dessert, which was ordered by my boss, was definitely the pick of the desserts. It was a nitrogen infused berry dish which came with a warning! Don't put the spoon on your tongue (it would stick). The dessert had an incredibly powerful flavour and was really interesting to eat. If you've never had a nitrogen infused dessert before, it can turn you in to a fire breather (with the steam coming out of both mouth and nose!)

At the time, I didn't know much about Harlan Goldstein and certainly didn't know that he had a well known Michelin Starred restaurant in Soho, but I was impressed with Penthouse. It hadn't been open for very long, which is why (I'm assuming) we were able to sneak a table on a Saturday night only fifteen minutes prior.

Not only was the meal lovely, the service excellent and the view spectacular, we were told about the new rooftop bar and as diners, were able to go straight up to enjoy an even more sensational view of the Hong Kong skyline. We spent quite a bit of time up on that rooftop, in the freezing cold having a few drinks and enjoying the view.. It was a brilliant end to the meal.

Three ladies went and we ordered 3 starters Beef Carparccio roll, Foie Gras and Eel, and New York Chopped Salad. The carparccio roll was ok, nothing special and I must admit there are other places to get a better carpaccio. The foie gras and eel, tasted basically like to separate dish. The taste doesn't really match. So if you go to the restaurant, I suggest not to order these dishes. The New York chopped salad in contrast was suprisingly good with a goid match of ingredients and the romaine let

The carparccio roll was ok, nothing special and I must admit there are other places to get a better carpaccio. The foie gras and eel, tasted basically like to separate dish. The taste doesn't really match. So if you go to the restaurant, I suggest not to order these dishes. The New York chopped salad in contrast was suprisingly good with a goid match of ingredients and the romaine lettuce was very crispy. 
We decided to order one main to share, as the steak serving at 20g seems big for us. Steak was nicely done, but at the price of HKD550 for one steak, you expect a very high quality beef. Unfortunately the piece that we had, it had a little bit too much tendon on one side. That is a dissappointment to an otherwise well executed dish. Cream spinach was just creamed spinach, I guess I would have preferred more spinach and less cream. The dessert platter was the greatest dish of the night, although the serving was far too big for the 3 of us. You can easily have another 2 to 3 people share the dessert platter. My favourite ofvthe dessert platter was the coconut dessert, which was reasonably light. The tirimasu was also good. The white chocolate dessert which looked yellow when served is forgettable. 
Overall a good meal but not a great meal

就是去了那間Jamie's Italian 難食到爆登,衝了上去penthouse 襯仲未落場last order 快點了一個penne 同ribs !!個penne  好好味有自家製餐肉同蝦,蝦爽同餐肉好特別!加埋濃濃的海鮮汁!好好味!成碟KO 曬! 個ribs 好入味唔加汁都好好味,肉質超嫩!超級滿足的一個午餐!

一向都鐘意同朋友食brunch 的,今次簡呢間係知道harlan goldstein 都幾出名,同埋貪個境夠靚~brunch 嘅前菜係任食的~parma ham 係主角,點可錯過~鹹香的氣味今人唾涎欲滴,不過食開的都知要加蜜瓜食可以互補,否則會太鹹~沙律有幾款,其中一款係酸辣味雞肉沙律,食完好開胃~沙律菜之外的覺得太多油,所以無咩點試~到了正餐,我同朋友分別叫了牛扒同。。。睇相plz係一盤有腸仔,雞蛋,蕃茄,再加兩片法包的~腸仔係有d似臘腸,成盤酸酸甜甜,都幾易入口~而我塊牛扒,對我黎講好大份~第一啖試下咩都唔加,超juicy的,成口都係肉味同肉汁~好豐富加埋mustard 就辣小小~d汁邊切邊流,真係好唔捨得~食完已經無咩時間淨,就趕住去食甜品件件都係細size, 可以試齊哂~最想試當然係signature nitrogen cream~個名好似係咁的~係一舊cream 放去一個有好多煙出的盒而成的~食落係有椰子味,過幾十秒就開給變cream, 而食落去真係一舊cream..棉花糖就變左有咬口d甜品之中apple crumble 同cheese cake 係好味d~拿破倫嘅 pa

brunch 嘅前菜係任食的~

parma ham 係主角,點可錯過~

鹹香的氣味今人唾涎欲滴,不過食開的都知要加蜜瓜食可以互補,否則會太鹹~

沙律有幾款,其中一款係酸辣味雞肉沙律,食完好開胃~

沙律菜之外的覺得太多油,所以無咩點試~

到了正餐,我同朋友分別叫了牛扒同。。。睇相plz

係一盤有腸仔,雞蛋,蕃茄,再加兩片法包的~

腸仔係有d似臘腸,成盤酸酸甜甜,都幾易入口~

而我塊牛扒,對我黎講好大份~

第一啖試下咩都唔加,超juicy的,成口都係肉味同肉汁~好豐富

加埋mustard 就辣小小~

d汁邊切邊流,真係好唔捨得~

食完已經無咩時間淨,就趕住去食甜品件件都係細size, 可以試齊哂~

最想試當然係signature nitrogen cream~個名好似係咁的~

係一舊cream 放去一個有好多煙出的盒而成的~

食落係有椰子味,過幾十秒就開給變cream, 而食落去真係一舊cream..

棉花糖就變左有咬口d

甜品之中apple crumble 同cheese cake 係好味d~

拿破倫嘅 pastries 太硬~

其他,講真係好麻麻~

環境好岩同朋友傾野,但得兩個半鐘,好趕~

對住咁開揚的環境食野同傾野令我好enjoy呢一刻

但坐得耐就有d...太光

有太陽時應該要有sun glasses 先得,呵~

估唔到都ok ~環境唔錯, 揀左坐出面望到維港夜景 但就凍左少少每枱會送盤麵包 都幾多塊可惜啲包又凍又硬推介Crab cake , 啖啖蟹肉好正讚讚讚成餐飯最美味就係蟹餅  而且份量都唔算細份2個人每人叫左一份食 唔洗爭Steak (Medium)  不過不失不算"鞋",咬落都有啲汁龍蝦意大利飯成個飯都好龍蝦!! 龍蝦汁好濃加上碟飯好多龍蝦肉 咬落都幾爽飯的軟硬度亦適中 ~ 俾個讚燒雞半隻   味道無咩特別雞皮唔夠脆  , 肉質幾滑 無咩骨都合格2個人落樓$1800 , 其實唔算抵環境同食物都ok , 但服務質素有待改善

第一篇restaurant review 決定由銅鑼灣ge Penthouse by Harlans Goldstein 開始:6時多來到餐廳,安排在半圓四人座位用餐(本來以為即日訂座會被安排到坐communicate table, 實在感恩)坐定定,面對30樓外全海景實在不得了(係對面某廣告燈箱實在太燦眼,同影相要就住位-o-)先點兩個starter之後order 了期待的lobster risotto龍蝦肉唔太細件,又爽又彈,意大利飯上面係好香又顏色鮮艷ge龍蝦湯,夠濃郁終於到左我地最中意ge Steak!可惜明明order Medium Rare, 上台切落去係Medium Well, 令grill steak口感一般仲有side dish- spinish一來到好香芝士味,好在一行4人,如果唔係淨食呢個都飽哂仲有一個有"P" sign ge Spanish Pork Choppork chop 都幾厚身,入面ge肉仲帶粉紅,好嫩同爽口面上ge mustard seed 中和肉同油脂既oily 感覺pork chop下ge 蘑菇都好香,加多幾塊就好另外點左 swedish Rek

另外點左 swedish Rekorderlig Apple Cider,menu 上得兩隻味,
如果冬天可以準備埋其品牌ge Winter Cider (served HOT/COLD)就更perfect !
題外話/補充資料: 如果有時間,我希望試哂呢棟building 每一間餐廳,因為等lift果陣實在每間都好想去:P

呢道慢煮澳洲黃油雞,係成晚令我最驚喜既。由於今晚有女伴同吃,所以我食雞胸部位,諗住d肉會鞋鞋地。點知一入口,雞肉嫩滑不特止,仲要充滿肉汁同蒜香味,差d以為我拎錯左雞髀部份。食雞咁耐,呢隻真係令我回味

2個月之前book, 之前唔明點解咁full, waiting list個weekend lunch buffet極都無位; 試過之後就明~ $388 + 10%, 每一款食物都非常之有質素!!雖然前菜同甜品種類唔算好多, 但每一款都好味, 淨係食前菜同甜品已食唔停, 好飽~首先, 我朋友非常之鍾意食pama ham, 所以佢已食好多轉, d蜜瓜/哈蜜瓜都好新鮮爽口~我就食沙律前菜食咗好多轉, 全部都好味, 沙律好新鮮配料算多; 前菜特別一提個個泰式酸辣鴨胸芋絲, 我原本都怕辣同唔鍾意食鴨胸, 但個泰式酸辣汁配得好好味好開胃, 所以怕辣都繼續食~未到主菜已忍唔住跳去甜品, 特別推介個拿破龠蛋糕非常之脆, 同個passion fruit甜品柸酸酸地好好味, 呢兩樣我又係狂encore~ 另外旁邊有個整雪糕機(佢地會幫你整, 個製作過程幾搞笑), 雖然個味道普通, 但個質感幾特別~已食到好飽, 主菜黎了, 我地叫咗個牛扒同海鮮risotto~ 兩款都非常好, 個牛好好味, 個risotto算多海鮮料~ 但因之前食到已飽, 所以主菜食唔哂要take away~最後連埋個latte, 好香~

未到主菜已忍唔住跳去甜品, 特別推介個拿破龠蛋糕非常之脆, 同個passion fruit甜品柸酸酸地好好味, 呢兩樣我又係狂encore~ 另外旁邊有個整雪糕機(佢地會幫你整, 個製作過程幾搞笑), 雖然個味道普通, 但個質感幾特別~

已食到好飽, 主菜黎了, 我地叫咗個牛扒同海鮮risotto~ 兩款都非常好, 個牛好好味, 個risotto算多海鮮料~ 但因之前食到已飽, 所以主菜食唔哂要take away~

最後連埋個latte, 好香~ 成個lunch抵食好perfect!! 非常值同想再encore!!
