i went to lamma island some time ago and i read some openrice reviews before going there. everyone kept saying how spectacular all the cheescakes were and so i bought a slice of tofu cheescake and a slice of green tea cheesecake (takeaway), hoping to 'discover' another look-forward-to-my-next-visit food spot.however, those two cheesecake were two of the worst ones i've ever tasted. first of all, i can taste (ARGGGHHH) gelatin in both of them, especially in the tofu one. thats the mistake i made
however, those two cheesecake were two of the worst ones i've ever tasted. first of all, i can taste (ARGGGHHH) gelatin in both of them, especially in the tofu one. thats the mistake i made when i tried to make refrigerated cheescake for the first time in my life years ago (and I'm still in secondary school) and i almost threw up in my mouth back then. second of all, as some other reviewers had mentioned, the crust was like this _ thin. PLEASE, making it thicker would make a huge difference both to the texture and the taste (oh and its also too sweet).
i have no idea why SO many reviewers praise their cheescakes. maybe, thats probably cos its the only cake shop in the whole of lamma island.... still, its not even comparible to sweet secret or liz, not to mention the Joel Robuchon cafe or zoe (which all have mixed reviews unlike this one). so unless you live in lamma, then trust me and give up cheesecake on this visit... go to a por tofu fa. personally i regretted ever visiting this shop... oh well at least i know i won't be visiting it again lol. blehh... gelatin
