驟眼一看,還以為Baked Whole Red Snapper in Lemon & White Wine Sauce是辣的,賣相有著刴椒魚的影子,但再細看,原來是刴碎的甜椒、乾蔥及香草,最後澆上西餐常用的白酒檸檬汁,不過吃來少了一份魚肉的鮮味,有點美中不足。Roasted Whole Chicken in Special Herbs聰明地用上size較細的雞,烤焗起來油脂不多,而且容易熟,肉質不會死實,雞皮仍有少許香脆,略有香茅味,處理得比中式食店還要好,令人意想不到。

點餐過後,很快便送上以透明綠色碟盛著的蒜蓉包。包的熱度不足,只屬微暖。但內邊很軟熟,帶有香味濃郁的蒜蓉味,十分惹味;外圍的包邊略硬帶脆。不消五分鐘,這四片便給我倆清光了。
在邊吃的同時,我慫恿男友點啤酒喝,終於成功了!他允許我喝,我當先點自己,而他則點了Corona。啤酒的味道我不多說,因為我並不是喝酒專家,而我的味蕾告訴我:兩者沒有分別。

很快,前菜來了。口味這回事,真的離不開那兩樣:燒跟烤。這個不知名的藏紅花(恕我見識不廣)醃製烤魷魚,超好吃。先把檸檬壓榨汁來,均勻地滴在魷魚上,再慢慢享用。先讚這個魷魚烤得十分出色,顏色好看不在話下,且沒半點燶味。把一小件放入口,細咬。口感煙韌但不黏牙,且絕不是那種要咬牙切齒才能吃到的魷魚。

說實在的,這魷魚吃下口,有種「軟綿綿」的感覺。吃掉一件又一件,停不下手,令我大快朵頤。
餐廳上菜的速度有够快,十分鐘不够,就來了餘下的主菜。先說這Sirloin Steak,西冷牛扒配上自製芥末醬和薯條。我平時很少吃薯條的,因為怕熱氣。這個薯條伴菜讓我吃個不停。一來,它是厚身的,滿滿填滿我的大口;二來,新鮮的熱度叫我不能停下來。但事實上,放久了,薯條依舊好吃,沒受環境影響。

男朋友負責為牛扒分件,邊切邊說:「一下刀切就知好吃了。」他解釋說,肉很軟,七成熟卻不帶一點血,上品。先吃小件沒沾醬的牛塊,鮮味十足。再試配上自製、充滿忌廉味的芥末醬,嘩,好食到不得了。芥末醬的味道恰到好處,既帶點芥末味,卻又不帶辣味,絕不搶去牛扒的肉味。

我鄰坐的兩枱人,都有點這個,足以證明其美味道及必試度!
最後吃這道,鴨脾伴蒜味薯粒配紅酒汁。男友說,這道在1/5 nuevo是出了名的菜。鴨脾肉質頗嫩,吃下口,略咬就溶化了。「蒜味薯粒」這綠葉角式當得很出色,也有可能是自己偏愛薯仔這類食物的緣故吧。這個薯粒軟硬適中,不會過生,也沒被烚煮得過「林」,美味非常。不過,整體來說,這不算是非試不可的一道菜。

最愛是雲呢拿雪糕跟蘋果撻搭著吃,蘋果撻焗得香脆又夠熱,

冷熱交融的感覺很好!

前陣子不知道為什麼身邊的朋友都吃tapas, 我也受了他們影響總想找一次去吃tapas之前去了fofo, 再之後便約了朋友來這裡, 因為聽同事說這家的tapas好吃來的那個晚上是星期一, 原來他們逢星期一都是做all you can eat and drinktapas吃了一round後可再無限點, 酒也是任喝, sangria, 紅酒, 白酒都有那就開始了那天的晚餐, 相當豐富呢sangria入口沒有一般的甜, 紅酒味道也佔蠻重的不過有水果的味道, 不自覺會越喝越多. 尤其是可以任點下更會喝得多先來幾款多士小吃, 有四款artichokes.goat cheese羊奶芝士香滑味道突出, 配多士吃剛剛好而雅枝竹清香, 配羊奶芝士很搭, 但就覺得雅枝竹煮得軟了一點grilled chorizo香腸油香十足, 厚薄切得剛好是烤的但就不會說烤得太乾, 不錯吃sardines and pequillos peppers沙甸魚不像鯷魚的鹹, 但也沒有鹹魚的香味不過跟醃過的紅椒一起吃味道亦不俗iberico ham除了羊奶芝士那款外我也喜歡他們的風乾火腿, 很大一塊吃起來鹹香油香都很能嚐到, 配上

烤羊肉串跟羊肉香腸, 羊肉的味道本身已經很濃了
調味也很夠濃, 迷迭香跟胡椒的味道有點太嗆, 減少一點會比較好

烤得很香的豬腩肉, 調味沒有羊肉的重, 反而比較好吃
肉質也算滿意, 雖說不上是嫩但不乾身, 是三種肉最好吃的一款

雞肉以杏仁汁去煮, 味道沒有甚麼特別, 因為杏仁汁味道一般
肉本身也不夠味, 如果改以烤雞肉再淋一點汁, 不要下太多就更不錯

我一向都很愛吃churros, 這款算是西班牙的最地道甜點
churros起起來不油, 蠻鬆脆的, 蘸點臻子巧克力醬更是美味
當地人會把這樣做早餐, 聽起來很像很膩, 但其實吃的時候只覺得好吃
反而不太有甚麼油膩感

普通的芝士蛋糕, 質感不會過實, 富忌廉芝士香, 蠻不錯的
吃起來也不會說太膩, 如果藍莓再多下一點就會更好了
lemon cocktail
我不知道為什麼這個會叫lemon cocktail, 其實是檸檬糖漬了再加糖
檸檬香跟酸度吃起來比較沒有負擔, 不過再怎麼吃都已經很飽了

當晚一共喝了很多酒, 不是說因為是任喝很划算, 而是我們一直聊天
所以在不需要盤算幾錢一杯的時候一直喝. 是一個吃跟聊天的好地方
如果還有任吃任喝星期一的話我會想再去, 掃走monday blue

星街的餐廳久不久就來一個大換班,但是這裡一直是迄立不倒,證明是有實力的.現在主打Tapas,在這地點來說,非常正確.叫了魷魚及肉丸兩款.賣相其實不大討好,但魷魚爽口鮮味,橄欖油香濃,也算不錯.至於肉丸,卻令人失望,肉丸死實,而且沒有什麼肉味,幸好有甜甜酸酸的茄汁,否則也難下嚥.

I decided to come and try out their set dinner menu priced at $238 per person (you could add $88 for a wine tasting set of 4 wines), which is available throughout July and August. Even though the food at 1/5 nuevo was very far from exceptional, there was an additional 20% off the bill on Sundays, which made our meal quite a bargain. There is also a “One Price Concept” on Monday nights with a full round of tapas (you can order more after you have finished one round), plus unlimited drinks for $388 per person.

(1) The first course of the set dinner was the cold tapas platter. On the left was the spicy tuna on toast. The “spicy” tuna was, in fact, not spicy, and it tasted a bit bland. In the middle was the gazpacho soup, which was in the colour of thousand island dressing, and had a delicious, fresh taste of peppers and a great chunky and grainy texture. On the right was the iberico ham, which was beautifully aged and had a deep, alluring taste. The bread was light and fluffy, and I loved the fact that it was placed in a clay flower pot - this kept the bread warm for a long time!

(2) Then came the second course and also the best part of the meal, the hot tapas. On the left was the “nuevo” tortilla de patatas, which was a Spanish omelette with egg and potatoes. It was warm and freshly fried, the potato was scrumptiously soft while the egg was suitably crispy, and the layering of potatoes and eggs gave an attractive texture. The restaurant sprinkled it with a bit of cheese powder, which added extra flavour and richness. On the right was a piece of pequillos stuffed with crab meat. The beaten crab meat was wrapped in a piece of red pepper. I could taste the fresh crab flavours, and the red pepper’s veggie taste was a great complement with the seafood.

(3) For the main course, we could choose between the pan-fried halibut and the grilled iberico pork. The pan-fried halibut with tomato salsa was soft and tender and it flaked delicately in the mouth. The halibut was nicely fried, and a drizzle of lemon juice cut through the buttery taste. The tomato salsa then added a refreshing note to it. The mashed potato on the side, however, tasted peculiar, and for almost 15 minutes I couldn’t figure out why it tasted different from other mashed potatoes. I had to resort to asking the manager in the end, and found out that the chef used olive oil (instead of butter) to season the mashed potatoes, which explained its vegetable taste. Healthy indeed, but not too yummy!

(4) The grilled iberico pork with cinnamon sauce was disappointing. Even though the meat was reasonably juicy, its texture was tough and chewy. I liked the hint of black pepper seasoning, but I could barely taste the cinnamon in the cinnamon sauce. Moreover, its presentation was really unexciting.

(5) I always really look forward to desserts at a meal, but this dessert platter made my spirits sink. The only thing I liked was the chocolate puff, which had a massive blob of cream inside, and was deliciously soggy (I like puffs and eclaires soggy, that’s just my thing!) The lemon cake was dreadful - it was achingly foamy, I think the restaurant must have messed it up. The most ridiculous thing about the dessert platter was that it said “vanilla ice cream” on the menu, but the kitchen ran out of it, so they gave us lemon sorbet instead without telling us or asking us if it was all right! This was seriously below-McDonald’s level of service…

I like the glitzy decor of 1/5 nuevo, and it is a charming venue for drinks. However, the food quality was below average and the service was absent-minded. Surely, one would have expected something better from the Elite Concepts group!

This was the first cold appetizer, it is a Middle Eastern food, which is mashed chickpeas and blended with tahini sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. I think the hummus was lacking the tahini sauce, and the presentation was rather pretentious. I prefer the standard one.

Gazpacho (2/10)
A gazpacho should be a cold, refreshing soup with a fairly high level of acid that comes from vinegar, tomatoes or lemon or lime juice. To keep the cooking time short it’s the keys to success, because it can maintain the fresh flavour of the vegetables. However, the gazpacho was rather bland and watery, lacked seasoning (Tabasco, sherry vinegar, salt and pepper). Overall, it was acceptable.

Grilled Sardine (3/10)
Like other oil fish, sardines spoil quickly so the chef should make sure they are very fresh. But how? Look for bright, clear eyes and firm flesh, and check that they smell faintly of the sea – definitely not ammonia or too fishy.
The Sardine was too lightly season, lacked some rosemary and thyme, but the timing was about right.

Dinner was good in general; the waiter explained the menu well and suggested what’s good with passion. The ambience was lovely, definitely would like to come back happy hour and a quick snacks.

While my lasagna was a large portion and decent (although none of us expected the scallops to actually be a salad as it clearly stated scallops on the menu), my friend's risotto came with PEANUTS instead of walnuts. This was a shocking and irresponsible substitution on the restaurant's part as peanut allergy can be fatal. The menu clearly stated walnuts and any substitution should have been notified in advance or at least mentioned on serving! What happens if someone with a peanut allergy ate the risotto?

It was a great disappointment and ruined our entire lunch. It also made us wonder what other ingredients had been substituted without letting us know.

Service was fine but with such a shock, I don't think anyone in the group will be going back.

吃完生蠔後,今晚order的美食也開始慢慢地送上.首先講講set dinner.

Set dinner裏有兩個頭盤,一凍一熱. 先讓我說說冷盤.

冷盤裏有三款小食.
1) Ham-肉很香口加上Ham也算是juice.
2) 中間這一杯,沒有想過會是湯來的. 而且也是冷盤裏的湯.雖然酸了點,但很有新鮮感. 真的很fresh的感覺.
3) 蟹肉多士. 三款冷盤中,我反而最喜歡這一個蟹肉多士,內裏真的是鮮蟹肉,而且份量也多,啖啖新鮮蟹肉,好味.

Set dinner的冷熱頭盤及main也品嚐過了. 係時候要介紹兩款今晚我們另order的.

1) Paella Risotto - $135
曾在香港某間所謂的意大利餐廳吃過一次"意大利飯"後,我對這一個項目有點陰影.怕怕. 知道Paella Risotto 也是creamy的,起初也不想考慮.但朋友也想試試這一個Paella Risotto ,加上也有不少食家也讚好. 好,今晚就試一次吧!
當職員送上這碟Paella Risotto 時,自已也有一點心寒. 嘩,飯及海鮮之上鋪滿了這麼"杰"的汁.又令我回想起令我抗拒的意大利飯. 起初,只敢吃海鮮,因海鮮的種類真的很多,有青口,大蝦及魷魚,也是大大的,但海鮮上也鋪上了汁,但覺得這一個汁也不"漏"喎,之後才敢吃內裏的飯.吃過後,心想,好彩也有品嚐過的,因這碟Paella Risotto 雖然也很creamy,但一點也不漏,很香口,再加上飯是大大肥肥粗粗的,由沒有期望時吃到超出意料之外的水準,也特別有驚喜.

2) Garlic Prawns - $98
來到西班牙餐廳,朋友便建議order Garlic Prawns.平時在一些中式海鮮飯店來來去去的烹調方法都是白灼蝦,茄汁蝦,間中也試過吃蒜蓉蝦,但今次是首次在西班牙餐廳吃Garlic Prawns. 味道真的和中菜館相當不同,特別的蝦除了添上適量蒜蓉外,還有一點酸may may及一丁點的辣,再添上側邊的牛油. 一隻蝦,什麼味道也擁有,好特別,好鍾意這一種構思.

3) 甜品.
今晚,我們可以品嚐到五項甜品. 最前兩款是DInner set的,貼著的便是我們另order的. 在五款甜品裏,最令我甜在心的便是這一個朱古力心太軟. 這一個朱古力很重味,很香濃郁朱古力,而且也很柔軟,沒有想過一點也不"漏". 每當吃到美味的甜品,真的把不開心的事情抺走. 甜品的魔力真大,而且也是好味的甜品才能做得到.

補充:這餐廳分開兩部份,最入的便是餐廳,近門口的便是酒吧. 各有特色. 如下一次在附近,突然想和朋友飲杯野傾傾計,可以考慮來1/5 Nuev的酒吧部.可以享受一下浪漫的背後原來也有野性的.

But if you're a foodie and rate a place by its food above all else, then this is NOT the place to come. We ordered a wide variety of tapas and not a single one is up to mark. The servings are frugal, the tapas came as slivers on sliced french loaf, not in bowls of succulent ingredients dripping in rich olive oils and fragrant herbs. No. It was shockingly disappointing. They are also very skimpy with the bread, it came in a coffee mug size. Such a sad sad thing.

The only saving grace was the Iberico ham which was imported and nothing to do with the prowess of the kitchen. The worst dish was the seafood paella. Although the rice was up to mark but the seafood was not fresh; the clams were rubbery, the prawns chewy; as though the chef forgot to go to the market and just picked some discounted stuffs off the nearby supermarket shelf.

I'll come back, for a drink and then I'll move on to another restaurant for real Spanish cuisine. Makes me wonder what the 1/5 means in its name.
