有個業界朋友,佢同住喺香港嘅馬來西亞人同新加坡人有聯繫,佢同我講呢間餐廳好可能係全城最正宗嘅馬來菜。雖然馬來食物唔係我特別熟悉嘅嘢,但我好想試下。到咗餐廳之後,我發現佢係匿喺一間細細間嘅酒店入面。我哋冇預約,但好彩我哋早到,可以攞到張枱。乍看之下,呢間餐廳似乎唔係特別令人印象深刻,而門口嘅女接待員亦都唔算好歡迎我哋。不過,好嘅一面係食物原來都幾好食,除咗一個值得注意嘅例外。咖喱雞係一個令人失望嘅地方 — 淡淡地同埋缺乏味道。我朋友之前試過呢道菜好多次,佢話呢道菜係佢遇過最差嘅一道菜。喺更正面嘅角度嚟講,Nasi Lemak係令人回味嘅。調味料啱啱好,飯煮得好完美。炸雞雖然調味得好好,但係缺乏多汁,令我好想知佢係咪傳統上係噉整。馬來炒麵亦都好味,油量啱啱好,但我忍唔住覺得佢比起任何明顯嘅馬來麵更加似中式炒扁麵。豆芽,標籤係馬來豆芽,好享受,我發現自己吞咗大部分。總括嚟講,我有個愉快嘅體驗,亦都好欣賞啲味道嘅真實性。雖然有幾個錯誤嘅步驟,但係如果我再次發現自己喺呢個地區,我一定會考慮重新去。

今次同朋友到訪大學站呢一間酒店食馬來西亞餐廳。其實期望都幾大,但係就….餐廳環境都算寬敞,唔會有好壓迫的感覺。但服務就有待改善。食物方面我哋點咗隻蟹,呢一個最令我失望,因為只會食到個胡椒味道,完全沒有蟹味,相信我唔係見到隻蟹,我唔會覺得自已食緊胡椒蟹。馬來西亞貴叼冇咩特色,不過不失。炒蘿蔔糕,味道偏淡,串燒是最好味的,味道同埋醬汁都是一流。整體嚟講,價錢貴、食物平平無奇冇咩特色、份量細份,性價比超低。相信未必有機會再來。

好久沒吃馬來西亞餐了,上網尋找香港的馬來西亞餐廳,原本約了去灣仔的一家,去到了才發現餐廳星期一休息,商量之後,決定去石塘咀Hotel Jen 二樓的Cafe Malacca 試菜。這家餐廳已經收藏了一段時間了,但總沒有機會去,今天算是錯有錯着,終於可以一嚐心願。因為友人吃素,我們就沒有點肉食。地道星馬美食要了Rojak 和水粿。Rojak 是馬來西亞出名的蔬菓沙律,里邊有菠蘿、青瓜、魷魚、油炸鬼等,配上香濃的蝦膏,非常惹味。水粿是大馬常見的Street Food,用粘米粉蒸出後鋪上菜脯,咸的菜脯和蒸出來的米糕一起吃下去味道剛剛好。餐廳這里跟足了馬來西亞,付上一小碟辣椒醬,喜歡吃辣的可以自由添加。這水粿對大部份人應該吸引力不大,但我住在大馬時常常以它做早餐,所以吃的其實更多的是回憶。難得香港竟然找得到水粿,我當然不會錯過這個再嚐它的機會。麵食我們要了檳城炒貴刁,因為這道菜有蝦,所以要求餐廳把蝦仁分开上。這貴刁炒得正宗,好久沒吃到那肥肥胖胖的芽菜了,加上那蝦仁,我覺得大廚真的是把檳城的味道炒出來了。不知道怎麼去形容,但曾在大馬住過的人馬上都能嚐出來。蔬菜我們要了馬來盞炒羊角豆和馬來盞炒臭豆

蔬菜我們要了馬來盞炒羊角豆和馬來盞炒臭豆蝦仁。後者是後加的,因為友人說好久沒吃到臭豆了,這臭豆在香港也不多人會吃,在大馬却是馬來西亞土著的家常菜。兩道菜都煮的好,羊角豆和臭豆都煮到剛熟,咬下去還有脆口的感覺!

因為是帶著試菜的心情來的,雖然點的菜都吃不完,我們還繼續要了Cendol , Ice Kacang 和 Onde Onde Cake 。在香港那麼久,這還是第一次吃到像大馬磨到細如粉的那種冰,太懷念了,好滿意。Onde Onde 是馬來糕點,通常是綠色的椰絲球,裡面是椰糖,這里把它做成蛋糕,椰絲是topping,中間 layered 的是 pandan sponge cake,非常有新鮮感,也很好吃😋。

總的來説,我們倆對今天這一餐都非常滿意。我能說今天吃的所有食物都非常正宗,和我在大馬住時吃到的沒有兩樣。唯一要説的不同是價錢,畢竟是酒店的餐廳,所以價錢貴是肯定的了,但至少食物好吃及正宗,所以也算是值得了!😃

同舊同事敍舊,幾個都住上環西環,於是有人提議這間,不過見到網上評語好壞參半,咁就試下。order 左5樣嘢。第一款,肉骨茶,價錢$138。味道都算跟足馬來西亞同新加坡,有同樣嘅胡椒味及藥材味。第二款,馬來炸雞,價錢$108,5件。炸得好差,唔脆,同埋比較乾,覺得kfc仲好些。第三款,海南雞飯,價錢$138。味道又出奇地唔錯,雞肉鮮嫩,油飯都正宗,但係份量比較少。而湯就比較淡。第四款,椰漿飯併盤,價錢$128。雞同樣比較乾,椰飯冇椰子味,唔得。第五款,檳城炒貴刁,價錢$128。這個又炒得好正宗,有鍋氣,同馬來西亞味道,不過同樣份量好少。總結,真係好壞參半,都唔知係唔係唔同師父煮,而且份量比較少,好似唔想俾人食咁,不如在餐牌上加多些錢,份量俾多些仲好。

第五款,檳城炒貴刁,價錢$128。這個又炒得好正宗,有鍋氣,同馬來西亞味道,不過同樣份量好少。
總結,真係好壞參半,都唔知係唔係唔同師父煮,而且份量比較少,好似唔想俾人食咁,不如在餐牌上加多些錢,份量俾多些仲好。

藏身於酒店入面嘅馬來西亞餐廳🙈原來都幾full house🤔,同埋而家無左lunch set menu😢新加坡喇沙好普通🙈湯底重椰汁味,辣味都出,但就唔鮮甜,加上湯身比較稀,所以麵唔係好掛湯😕但麵就勝左彈牙,即使食到最後都唔會淋哂。配菜都失色,有蛋、魚片、蝦同豆卜。對我黎講最好食竟然係蛋😨最大嘅問題係其他餸有時會食到番梘味😨如果唔計呢點嘅話,魚片都有咬口,豆卜吸哂啲汁好正,但有時會有油益味,蝦食到最後有啲霉同太細隻😨我應該係正常食量,但覺得有啲唔夠飽雖然係酒店入面環境幾靚,但服務就嘛嘛😕長期都無人得閑過黎,本身都叫埋個咖央多士試下都放棄左💩唔好expect 會主動比/斟水。

好普通🙈湯底重椰汁味,辣味都出,但就唔鮮甜,加上湯身比較稀,所以麵唔係好掛湯😕但麵就勝左彈牙,即使食到最後都唔會淋哂。

配菜都失色,有蛋、魚片、蝦同豆卜。對我黎講最好食竟然係蛋😨
最大嘅問題係其他餸有時會食到番梘味😨如果唔計呢點嘅話,魚片都有咬口,豆卜吸哂啲汁好正,但有時會有油益味,蝦食到最後有啲霉同太細隻😨

我應該係正常食量,但覺得有啲唔夠飽

雖然係酒店入面環境幾靚,但服務就嘛嘛😕長期都無人得閑過黎,本身都叫埋個咖央多士試下都放棄左💩唔好expect 會主動比/斟水。

食完的話,我只要把餐盒及餐具放在酒店房門口,通知 Room service 取走便可以了!

之後 2 月再幫襯,於 Openrice app 先 Book 位,就算已 Book 枱 1 位,都要等一陣間!

週末中午時段,樓面有5位女店員及一位女經理,算是夠人手!

當時 2 月的限聚令,只限每枱 2 位;我被安排到一張可容納 6 人的大圓枱!
 獨佔 6 人大枱,也令我感到唔好意思呀!

椰絲卷略嫌綠色的卷身質感頗粉,並非預期的柔軟!

Living in HK for more than 27 years, finally found a place that's close to having the taste of our local Malaysian foods. We heard about Café Malacca through a 🇲🇾 friend, we were so disappointed it took us so long to hear about it. Friend recommended Penang Asam Laksa, she said it's really good. I think it's not bad too, the closest we could find to the authentic taste in HK. Our fav dish was the Grilled stingray. 😍😍😍😋❤️ It was perfectly seasoned. The first bite transported me back to the local beachside hawker stall where I used to visit whenever I craved for Grilled stingray. 🤭🤭🤭

The taste of the Sambal patai was up to expectations but I think the patai not as fresh as we could get back in Malaysia. Which took away from the stinky funky taste of the patai.

Our least favourite was hokkien fried noodles. It's not even close to what we had before. And the Sambal sauce Cafe Malacca served was bit spicy and a bit too salty, I suggest that they should try and change other sambal product. There's plenty of options in the market!

So we will skip hokkien char on our next visit. I'm looking forward to try the Mee Bok from the menu. That's one of my fav Singapore dish. ❤️

Almost forgot to mention their service... Very Malaysian style... Slow and forgetful... 😂 😂 😂
