The menu is compact enough so that everything on it is what the house feels confident about presenting, but not so much that you feel that it severely limits your choice. The interior is classically designed with old school chandeliers and vintage floor tiles while seating is comfy and spacious. The enclosed restaurant lacks natural lighting and without being able to look outside of the restaurant, you could perhaps fool yourself that you’re in another city like, for instance, New York, where Italian restaurants like this one abound. Or, if you prefer, pretend that it’s an exclusive, private club of some sort. And of course you would always have Black Sheep hospitality to take care of you and your guests. Servers are a little less warm here than at some other Black Sheep places, perhaps because Carbone is more popular, but it’s still many times better here than the average restaurant in the area.

Yes, Carbone is on the pricier side, but only if you are a bit too eager and want to eat everything on the menu. Or, say, because you are having too much to drink. Otherwise, complimentary bread and cheese (refills on request) should get you going. Ordering too much would just get you filled up in an unpleasant way in any case, as the food here comes in relatively large portions and is incredibly rich (read: fatty and loaded with salt)—it’s New York style after all. I’d much rather order just enough every time, savor the food thoroughly and come back often.

On another note, if you’re up for New York-style Italian in a more casual setting, Mostaccioli Brothers beneath Elgin Street is a nice option with friendlier prices. There is outdoor seating there, too.

Not enough meat? Not to worry. Mario’s Meatball ($278 each) has got you covered. The meatball is made with pork only. It holds tightly together and the mouthfeel is super soft. It’s definitely a bit on the fattier side and probably included minced pancetta and bread crumbs, making for an incredibly juicy and satiating bomb with countless pockets of moisture. The tomato marinara is delightful, too. But I do think half melted (or at least a fluffier) parmesan would go better with this than dry bits with no piping hot sauce to melt on.

New York Bone-in Strip ($608) is sourced from Chicago’s Meats by Linz and while this was no doubt a decent steak, it wasn’t the best for us. The strip steak was relatively straight so we had quite an even texture throughout and the meat had good marbling. There are no complaints about the grilling (which was frankly quite perfect) either. But the beef itself just didn’t quite have the nuanced, more complex flavor profile and richness of our favorite steaks. So I wouldn’t come here just for the bone-in strip as it isn’t their best show.

The chicken was beaten and flattened to its thinnest, and with the breading it was deep-fried to a firm crunchiness. Cute place, nice atmosphere for a date. What surprises me is the tiramisu was the best tiramisu i had in my life. There is this orange zest taste in it that makes it fantastic and i will forever compare all other tiramisu to it. Pasta, steak are both great too, but must say a little pricey overall.

Was so happy to be able to dine out after almost two months. The atmosphere was very vibrant and service was friendly (a bit understaffed as the place was full on a Monday night ). The appetizers were great (beef and salad ), the pasta were excellent (linguine Vongole and fettuccine with mushrooms ). The best parts were actually the bread basket (garlic bread is one of the best i have tried ) and the dessert (tiramisu was excellent )

This is thejr signature pasta🍝that you can see on literally every table. The pasta has two layers of spiciness, first by the Calabrian chili🌶 then followed by the vodka. The signature steak here is not your regular steak🥩It is pan-seared with pancetta🥓 and mushroom🍄in Cacciatore sauce. This created a brilliant flavour. The smokiness from the pancetta plus the sweet and sour hunter sauce are so great on the Meat from Linz. The doneness of the steak is just right to keep its tenderness and juice. The price is on the high side if not with the Black Series🤭so you must not miss it in the next series!

Their NY lemon cheesecake is definitely the best in city. I mean in the New York City 🇺🇸 as it brings you the hype from the America! The cake is smooth and thick that coated your tongue without wanting to swallow it. The sourness balances off the heaviness so that you could easily finish one even after an enormous steak😋They actually got a dessert trolley for you to pick your dessert, but trust me you won’t need it as you just can’t miss their lemon cheesecake‼️

A dish that you never wanna miss in Carbone! The rigatoni was cooked perfectly to al dente, and was very flavourful and creamy. The spiciness of the pasta was just right and over-powering. The subtle hint of vodka definitely elevated the pasta as  a whole.

Although we were very full before dessert, there's still some rooms in the stomach for that!! 
The staff pushed a trolley of desserts and we eventually picked two cakes. 
The well-balanced taste of creaminess and sourness, with the very smooth texture of the cake made it easy for two to finish it.

This chocolate sponge cake has clear layers and it is very flavourful and moist with cherry cream in between layers.

Overall speaking, the vibes and food quality were pretty up to standard. However, the staff were not too attentive compared to other similarly-ranked restaurants.

We ordered the famous lemon 🍋 cheesecqke without knowing the price tag. Indeed it was super creamy and CHEESY. We thought we couldn’t finish it haha the the crust was still kinda crispy👌🏼🍰 Overall, it was real yummozzz but when we pay we were shocked by the price, still dont think it is worth $240 for a slice 😢

趁2人限聚令生效前,趕快和家人去試新餐廳 Carbone,食晚飯一入去,好似入左另一個世界,可以暫時忘記現實中嘅煩心事,nice裝修行懷舊風,完全係我嘅取向一坐低,俾你送麵包果舊cheese已經係由一大舊圓碌碌嘅cheese攞出黎,麵包也好吃唔可以食太多啦,留肚食嘢!嘢飲要左free flow water and 2 cups of red wine (由waitress推薦),d酒其實都好適合go with 我地叫左嘅嘢Antipasta 要左beef carpaccio and octopus pizzaiolo, 調味好好,唔會太鹹,剛剛好Pasta 就叫左vongole and carbonara,意粉就真係Al dente如果食得下辣就vongole 好d,d蜆都可以carbonara就比想像中濃味,但個bacon真係好香口同行兩位男士都好鍾意主菜要左個lamb tomahawk and NY bone in strip豬嘅 tomahawk 就食得多,羊嘅tomahawk 就真係第一次試,如果鍾意食肥嘅就真係值得一試😊真係好香,但就未必啖啖肉NY bone in strip

豬嘅 tomahawk 就食得多,羊嘅tomahawk 就真係第一次試,如果鍾意食肥嘅就真係值得一試😊
真係好香,但就未必啖啖肉

NY bone in strip 個肉味濃得黎,煮得剛剛好。要medium rare 就真係medium rare,唔會過熟

甜品啦,waitress推住個甜品車出場,忍不住再叫甜品。。要了個lemon cheesecake and tiramisu (份量以香港來說算King size)

Lemon cheesecake 就對我來說甜左dd,但送咖啡應該會唔錯

個tiramisu 真係有驚喜,滑得黎唔死甜

最後埋單就再每人送一細杯limoncello and a piece of cake
畫上完美句號

人均消費hkd 1000 per head,唔敢話物超所值,但肯定物有所值。。

順帶一題,serve我地果檯嘅waitress態度超好,會擔心我地食唔曬,有互動得黎也沒,推薦嘅嘢都好適合。。。主動幫忙影相etc pro 得黎仲very cheerful

果晚生日嘅人好多,生日歌都聽5 -6次,氣氛相當好,餐廳團隊應記一功

不過我地全晚都未reach到一個conclusion... 餐廳deco係抄邊個年代?同行一人話應該係50年代,但d歌好似唔係50年代bor 。。


不如再去多次confirm 一下啦
