六月下旬·晴在香港吃印度菜的經驗,絕大部份都是來自重慶森林。那是個很神奇的地方,印度餐廳不是「新德里」就是「咖哩王」。實在也有不少好店子,咖哩菜式每天鮮煮,naan bread也是即烤的。價錢很便宜,人均二百多元已經吃得要捧著肚子離開。不過該等店子也有個通病,就是環境特差。先不要說在未上樓時要「過五關斬六將」,就是不少餐廳也悶熱非常,真的未吃辣也先來一身汗。所以當市面上出現環境好一點的印度餐廳如澳門的The Golden Peacock又或是在香港同是米芝蓮一星的New Punjab Club的時候(請按此參考舊食評),在當時是迅即成了市場寵兒。今天就有了這裡。店子台前幕後大部份都是印度籍人士,大廚Chef Manav Tuli來香港前在倫敦主理的印度餐廳是米芝蓮一星店,此時來到這裡當然也令人憧憬。就在周中一個晚上,一行八人來「掃佢個餐牌」。前菜很精緻,羊肉薯仔咖哩角做成小甜筒的樣子, Bhel Puri每份獨立放在帶子殼上拿著吃,而炸脆餅Raj Kachori做得賣相及味道俱佳。土爐烤Tandoori就是我最喜歡的部份,烤魚用上了石斑,malai的做法就是先用乳酪、忌廉、薑汁等去醃,

土爐烤Tandoori就是我最喜歡的部份,烤魚用上了石斑,malai的做法就是先用乳酪、忌廉、薑汁等去醃,乳酪及忌廉令爽滑的石斑肉更添香味。烤羊架是意料之內的好吃,而烤牛肋肉就是十級鬆化美味。

不同的咖哩環節最合意的是牛油雞,還有大蝦都不錯。辣的Vindaloo用上的是豬頸肉,在印度餐廳遇上這種食材是有點令人不太習慣。

有咖哩當然就不能沒澱粉質,這裡的即烤naan及小麥餅當然好吃。最1能錯過的是 Natural Cheddar and Chili Naan,加入辣椒帶來的辣勁還有車打芝士的香味,不用配咖哩就是淨吃也可以。

Lamb Dum Biryani絕對是這裡的招牌項目,由侍者在大家面前將之掀開,相信大家在網上各平台都看過一千幾百次。印度米飯本身爽身可口,加入香料及番紅花同煮,也是不能錯過的。

價錢方面,餐牌上絕大部份項目都是二百上下,前菜小吃就是一百上下。結合這裡的環境及服務水平,還有令人滿意的食物水準而言,是絕對值得一試。

是晚大約十時半離開餐廳,但餐廳仍然座無虛席,眼見已是翻了兩至三張檯。據云現在訂檯已要去到八月,建議想來吃的朋友,及早郁手。

餐廳配備三部正宗Tandoor烤爐,推介大家吃羊扒,烤得非常粉嫩。各式各樣的咖喱由大廚精心慢煮而成,鮮味十足的Prawn Curry獲一致好評、招牌Old Dheli Butter Chicken 香而不辣、Pork Cheek Vindaloo的豬面肉煮至鬆化,用來撈飯一流!

講到飯,不可不提這裏的招牌香料飯,CHAAT以新穎手法重新演繹印度的經典香料羊肉飯Lamb Dum Biryani,食材包括陳年印度米、藏紅花和多種香料等。店員會喺客人面前切開焗飯,打開酥皮,喜見粒粒分明的印度香米,熱辣辣且香噴噴,用來伴咖哩一流。

Lovely dinner experience at CHAAT! I really liked how the place was of boutique size with not a large numbers of tables available. The vibe and environment was very cool and trendy - a modern take on Indian cuisine. Pricing was very fair and reasonable, especially for Rosewood. The staff were extremely polite and hospitable, explaining all their recommended dishes in detail. The food was very tasty! Lovely dinner experience at CHAAT! I really liked how the place was of boutique size with not a large numbers of tables available. CHAAT將印度街頭小食和經典家常菜重新包裝搬上餐桌。首先當然要試吓有King of street food之稱嘅Raj Kachori,外脆,裡面有豐富餡料(扁豆,綠豆,洋蔥,薯仔,紅番石榴等),配薄荷醬乳酪醬一齊食,味道層次非常豐富,賣相又靚。第二道菜選了魚: Malai Grouper Tikka,魚肉結實juicy,表面略為煙燻,香味濃郁。主菜選了Old Delhi Butter Chicken,醬汁是finger-licking good地好味👍👍👍😋😋😋,配plain naan簡直一流,鷄件非常嫩滑juicy。(題外話,以前食完印度菜,隔一陣子總會口乾,但食完呢間竟然無出現此情況👍👍) 甜品點了Nimbu Lemon Tart,伴以saffron lemon ice cream🍨,好味😋。好美味的晚餐,餐廳裝修餐具皆美。一定會再嚟試埋其他菜式。
