I had dinner there with a friend. We booked a table via Eatigo for 18:00 (so we got a 50 % discount on food items when paying by credit card). Fortunately, the restaurant got a bit more busy after some minutes. The staff speaks proper English, the menu is in English as well and they offer a lot of vegetarian dishes (which I, at least, expected a bit as it is an Indian restaurant). I actually didn't find the typical Butter Paneer Masala and they only offer around 3 veggie paneer dishes (it's just that I love paneer, but for people who are fine with any Indian dish, they will like the selection of dishes).
We ordered two mains and two different kinds of bread. While we were waiting for the food, we could eat the typical appetizer. The green sauce (I don't know its name but it is very typical) was good, the other "dish" I have never seen. It tastes far too sour...

Finally our mains arrived.

The mock Duck tikka Masala was okay, personally it could have been a bit more spiced, it tasted a bit boring.

And the spinach Paneer which was definitely really boring. I thought at least that it has a bit more taste (spice, ...)...

The breads were really good! Both! Normally I'd just take Naan but I really wanted to try the other bread they offer, so we chose randomly two kinds.

The portions are good. We were full afterwards.
All in all, I liked the old-fashioned atmosphere, the service was attentive but not really friendly and the food average. As we got the 50% discount, I'll probably come again in order to try other dishes but I'd not pay the normal price.

Lunch buffet treated by my friend on Sunday.  Not many people.  I love the fresh naan bread they made.  Very soft and tasty!  They have curry chicken and curry lamb, both are good and authentic though I think the lamb could be a bit more tasty.  The tikki fish is good though cut into very small pieces.  I like the spinach mesh and cheese the best that go well with the saffron rice.  The chickpeas are good too.  As for dessert, one must be prepared that they are quite sweet.  Btw the a la carte T

Went to Gaylords because it shares the name of a famous London curry house with the same name. The two are unrelated.

I was with two friends, and we ordered 3 main dishes to share, 2 naan breads, and one rice. No drinks. Total came to 600 HKD.

The waitress was insistent that we had ordered enough food for three, sadly they had no vegetable side dishes. Sag paneer/aloo etc were around 100HKD and were meant to be main dishes.

The three main dishes we ordered were dry chicken tikka, mango chicken curry, and lamb Bhuna balti (ghosht).

The meal started with 4 small pieces of spicy pappadum (the ones with mustard seeds), a raitha and a lime pickle. Would have preferred more (and preferred the plain fake poppadums!) but they were complimentary (or included in the table cover).

The dry chicken tikka was brought out by itself 15 mins before the rest of the food. I think it was obvious we wanted it as a main. It wasn’t served with a salad or raitha as is common in the UK, and there wasn’t much there. 1.5 pieces each when split between the three of us. Tasted nice though, and served on a hot plate.

When they arrived, both curries tasted very good, but the servings were too small. When everything was served on our plates, it really didn’t look like a full meal, despite the waitress insisting that any more would be over ordering. The naan were nice, quite flat crispy ones, which is not my favourite style. Rice was good, enough for 2 in one serving.

In conclusion, everything tasted really good. Just I left really hungry....

Went for lunch buffet today, with an Indian colleague from India. It was a while back since I came here and didn't realized the standards have dropped. The lunch buffet selection was very limited. For the same price, you get much better selection at Jashan or Bombay Dreams. This restaurant should better just face up to competition or shut down.

分別有Vada(小扁豆冬甩)、Idli(白米糕)、Saffron Pulao(印度米飯)、Vegetable Samosa(雜菜餡角)、Fish Amritsari(炸魚餅)。

甜品方面有Soan Papdi、Mango Phirni(芒果米布甸)、Gulab Jamun(蜜汁圓球)、Seviyan Kheer(米粉布甸)。

Saag Paneer,

Vegetable Samosa

Saffron Pulao

Gulab Jamun,

One of the best ones I have ever had because the kebab is not mixed with any weird soft bone or fat, but a piece honest meaty juicy kebab. Most importantly, it is not gamey at all when being mixed with the strong Indian spices.
