I have to say that Hooray is one of my favorite place for dining and drinking as it has a lovely outdoor area for both my hunnie and myself to smoke! Two weeks ago we went to Hooray and it was a beatiful sunny afternoon! We sat at the outdoor area to enjoy the beautiful view and saw some media filming some dishes. I asked the staff there what are those dishes and they told me that they are hosting a Giant menu promotion! The very nice gentlemen (sorry forgot his name but quite cool looking) asked if we would like to try the menu! Too bad we had an appointment on that day then we didnt try it!

Then, last Friday me and my hunnie went back to Hooray to try out the Giant menu. As both of us are not BIG eatters, we only ordered the giant meat ball pasta (too be honestly with you..we are quite disappointed for the portion as it's not that BIG) However, the taste is excellent and we could finish it! The meatballs tasted not super but better than expected, it was because with this size of meatballs it was hard to control the tenderness for the Chef, while the pasta was al dente.
Later on, we tried some of the signature cocktails made by a bartender called Mike! Mike is a very cool guy as i requested that i do not want sth that is too sour, with too much liruior and too icy (yes, i am trouble haha) then he actually made a cookies x cream starwberry cocktail for us! It taste like a dessert and I am in love with it! The bill came to us at HKD730 for 2 people. (which is pretty reasonable) and we will definitely be back for sure!

Overall, i think that Hooray has such a wonderful view and i just found out from my sister that a lot of the TVBs dramas are filmed here! It's interesting and let see when i can bump into those TVB artisits one day..hoho

We both ordered Oxtail soup which came with a bread basket. Taste was fine, but nothing special. I chose Pork Belly for the main (at $328) which disappointinly didnt have a very succulent or crunchy skin, which was a waste in my eyes. It was fatty, which is to be expected but a waste of such an ingredient with the seasoning also. The vegetables were not generous in portion and I was left feeling fairly unsatisfied.

My friend had the sea bass, which was boiled in a bag - this was more satisfying for them, in terms of the taste and portion. But I left with the feeling I may pick up a McD's before the night is due! For $1000 bill, it was a shame about the food.

Also a side of mash potato was extremely creamy and quite tasty.

突然同友人興起食high tea, research 完一輪見到相就比呢間吸引,加上以high tea黎講算係平。環境黎講係唔錯,不過唔知室外係可以吸煙的.. 食物都算黎得快,不過本以為有英式鬆餅,怎知原來係muffin, 而拿破侖亦有點硬。小食都有叫,但價錢略縑貴因份量不多。整體上是食個度既環境(除了煙之外), 而食物既水平就只能話可接受。

I’m not a big fan of al fresco dinning, my gal friend neither. Anyways I reserved a table for 2 outdoor. It’s a waste of money if you sitting indoor at such a place like hooray, I think.
Wow! The picture was not photoshop moded! The indoor was a bit packed but the outside, um, I got it right. Anyone takes a snap shot there will eventually win a photography contest. Thanks god we were fighting for space a minute ago at the centre of the city, a minute after we found ourselves in Fiji. Other than those cheap cheap ikea chairs which I found them lame, I got nothing else that I could complain about.
Now the food. First thing comes to our mind is PORTION. I am a big eater but couldn’t finish them all. My advice is, leave yourselves empty stomache before you go Hooray. Especially GALS.
The ravishing harbor view did not distracted us on food tasting. The al dante penne went far beyond our expectation.

The Ginger Delight warmed me up and made me Christmas mooded.
Service? 2 yeses. We are the kind of people who hate robotic smiles and fake thank yous. My gal friend loved their service. Their hellos are chummy and they spent time for explaining how they made the pastas, and even teaching us how to plant herbs! We had a unforgettable night there.

我哋就開心啦哈哈- 飲咗杯cocktail同食咗個Apple pie。

3個人share一個apple pie, 都好大, 食唔晒, 可能女仔掛, 好脆少甜, 女士最愛, 最正係我講笑話喺美國食過加雪糕好得, 有個扎辮嘅waiter同我哋加個scope! 開心到傻, 蘋果有啲酸。

1杯唔會錯嘅達奇拿新拉時, 扎辮嘅waiter原來係bar tender, 幫我加咗少少lemon grass同rum, 出來效果好特別, 超鐘意, 少苦唔確喉, 有淡淡香茅清香嘅達奇拿橙, 真係得到無朋友, hor hor =)

其實最得都係價錢, 3人行6杯加cocktail埋單竟然係$555, 好底真係好底, Like爆

跟同事們慶祝 CW 小姐的生日,CW 小姐指定要這家餐廳,還指定要坐 outdoor 位置,結果八月初仲夏,傍晚七時我們就坐在這裏的露天位,吃著一個熱辣辣晚飯。我們這晚佔著 dinner table 最近維港的一張,再往外就是一列 for 喝東西的沙發,這照片就是從餐桌往維港方向拍照再 instragram 一下啦。坐下的時候餓到想咬人,這個麵包籃就成了鄙人的救星,麵包全部都有先預熱,最喜歡的是遠處那款小軟包,外形小巧,入口甜身帶牛油香;focaccia 的香草味足夠,稍嫌不夠鬆軟;grissini 烤得香脆,入口也滿有麵粉香,也是鄙人喜愛的一款。來到正餐,appetizer 選了個蕃茄芝士沙拉,沒記錯的話那陣子用的是 burrata cheese,感覺較 mozarella 細滑,但印象最深刻還是厚切蕃茄,鮮甜多汁,非常新鮮,只嫌分量不太夠,反倒是 basil 的分量有點下得太多,甘苦味有點太搶,讓味道不太平衡。和牛 burger,上桌就是這樣的狀態,是夜我們四人,想請侍應把 burger 切成四份再上桌 (畢竟用餐刀把 burger 分體,會讓 burger 成了面容扭曲的狀態),

來到正餐,appetizer 選了個蕃茄芝士沙拉,沒記錯的話那陣子用的是 burrata cheese,感覺較 mozarella 細滑,但印象最深刻還是厚切蕃茄,鮮甜多汁,非常新鮮,只嫌分量不太夠,反倒是 basil 的分量有點下得太多,甘苦味有點太搶,讓味道不太平衡。

和牛 burger,上桌就是這樣的狀態,是夜我們四人,想請侍應把 burger 切成四份再上桌 (畢竟用餐刀把 burger 分體,會讓 burger 成了面容扭曲的狀態),可侍應叔叔一句就 ban 落來「唔得喎!」,fine,就讓它面容扭曲吧,唯有。

食味其實還好,麵包烘得焦脆,塗了牛油來吃不會難吃到哪裏去,燈光關係,看不清漢堡扒其實是否全熟 (!),不過弄得厚身,感覺肉汁還好;擺盤關係,芝士上桌時已是乾硬化狀,失卻了半溶的口感;煎蛋和煙肉,全都是配角…對啦,這份漢堡基本上我都是逐件材料吃的,沒法啦面容扭曲之後,很難把眼耳口鼻拼回來嘛。

grilled rib-eye,試了一小塊,指明要 medium well,來到還算對辦,而且牛扒的質素也不錯,入口嫩滑,烤過後也滿有肉香,不錯吃。伴碟的有一小砵薯蓉,打得極細滑,好吃,不過每人分吃了…大概兩口吧?

香蒜蜆肉扁意粉,蜆肉體積相當巨型,而且肉質爽甜,扁意粉灼得剛好,被蒜茸炒得乾身香口,爽爽滑滑的非常不錯,餐牌寫明會有點辣,可入口又一點辣味也不覺,也適合我這不吃辣的人。這個是我們一致讚成的 best dish for the night!

扮揀了一輪之後,才叫侍應把這個早在訂位時已下單的甜品送上桌,簡單的 warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream,每人一小口的,吃得滋味,分量小到,我吃完也忘記味道是怎樣的了!囧

景色漂亮,食物的質素也算不賴,不過侍應質素有待改進,就如鄙人下單才方知自己的英語有多爛,因為侍應對於我的每一隻英文字也聽不懂!慘,連讀 rib-eye 也不能讓侍應聽懂,我應該回去讀小學一年班吧?後來另一位侍應,問也沒問便把還有麵包的 bread basket 收走,截也截不住,叫回,他也不好意思把放在 dish tray 上的麵包籃拿回給我們啦還好 (最後拿了一籃新的),不過就反映了侍應極度唔夠細心喎。

價位嘛,老實說是有點 over-priced,那個 warm chocolate cake 才掌心般大,賣過百;平均每份主菜 $200 (要記住四人分吃,每人大約分吃到三口分量啦),cocktail 相對值租,平均 $80 一杯也是正常價位,anyway 買單約 $1200,雖然服務 & 價位方面有改進空間,但那晚還是吃得好高興(也拍了好多好照片)!(遲了很多) 的生日快樂啦 CW 小姐!

一直也收起了Hooray Bar & Restaurant免費下午茶的cupon,終於也在八月擇了一個日子,提早致電訂座。餐廳位於銅鑼灣世貿中心,鄰近地鐵站,交通很方便!餐廳提供選擇予客人,可以選擇於室內或室外用膳,室外可以仰望維港景色,環境不懶!High Tea 三時起開始供應,原價$198 for two。食物全都擺放在橢圓形的三層架,很美觀!High Tea Set三層中,至頂的是鬆餅的忌廉及果醬,甜點在中層,底部是鹹點。三文治給人感覺是有餡料在兩塊方飽中間,這件看似更像一件蛋糕,麵飽面積有點大,它叫黑椒牛肉三文治。食物入口後感覺餡料和方飽比例失衡,大概餡料份量很少,不回看meun 也不知吃的是牛肉。醬汁挻新穎,有芥末醬搭上一條火箭菜,酸得來很開胃。醃三文魚賣相跟壽司店的花之戀相似,三文魚中央放了檸檬忌廉,魚子醬置頂。青瓜墊起三文魚,容易入口,吃起來也很有新鮮感。蘑茹薄餅,很香!薄餅不算脆身,卻勝在餡料夠多!蘑茹切成粒狀煎香,再加上厚厚的芝士,味道層次分明。試過三款鹹點,不過不色,立即再戰甜點!先試鬆餅,有兩款味道,分別是提子與芝士味。提子鬆餅的提子數量太少,只有三兩粒實在不夠多

試過三款鹹點,不過不色,立即再戰甜點!先試鬆餅,有兩款味道,分別是提子與芝士味。提子鬆餅的提子數量太少,只有三兩粒實在不夠多;芝士鬆餅帶濃郁芝士味,吃起來味道也不會太寡淡。普通的鬆餅往往都是鬆軟,這裡的卻像蛋糕,而且偏油膩。牛油和麵粉成份太多了,所以沒有預期鬆化之感!

栗子泡芙比較少吃,很難評價它是不是一件好食材。泡芙外皮軟身,起初以為在泡中間的是忌廉,不太感興趣,仔細品嚐竟然吃出香濃栗子味,很有驚喜!泡芙配上兩粒酒心車厘子,帶濃烈酒味,可惜車厘子不夠新鮮。總體來就,這道甜品比預期的好。

芒果班戟不過不失,忌廉配上適量芒果粒。只是個人偏愛厚皮,嫌班皮有點薄。

蘋果批算是芸芸中最有水準的。估計是即叫即焗,所以即使最後才吃個蘋果批時還感受到食物的餘溫。蘋果批表層很厚很脆身,既香脆又可口。明明知道表層都是用牛油、麵粉和糖混合而成,吃下去卻不帶一點油膩感。表層之下的蘋果粒多到數不清,若能焗至乾身一點味道會更佳。

朱古力薄脆用的是黑朱古力,加了可可脆片,難怪這麼香脆可口,味道岀色!

這裡的high tea set 沒有酒店級數,不過以價位來看,也算平宜。這樣光顧下午茶的人不多,即使不致電walk in 相信也不成問題!

同朋友食完飯仲未傾完計, 想搵個地方飲嘢, 醒起好耐之前嚟過呢度食飯, 於是帶咗個朋友上去。之前仲擔心落雨無得坐外面, 原來太耐無嚟, 佢哋已經加咗個上蓋。是晚天氣唔算太熱, 我覺得剛剛好, 但朋友就話坐近D風扇佢會舒服D, 無奈每個用盆栽劃分既區域都各只有一把風扇。飲嘢每位最低消費$120, 都唔平喎!不過啱哂我哋呢D扮哂中產之人。我本身唔係好飲酒, 但要扮嘢又點少得一杯cocktail在手呢? 見Menu有signature cocktail, 叫咗一杯Tiramisu, 用Baileys整, 入口好甜, 好似食緊飯後甜品咁。朋友就叫了兩round Guiness。記得上次嚟食飯真係麻麻地, 但傾計飲嘢真係唔錯, 唔會嘈喧巴閉鬥大聲, 有機會會再嚟扮中產。
